Antoine Griezmann has again left Barcelona teammates upset with his post match comments.

Cadena SER says Barca players were unhappy with Griezmann over what he said following their Supercopa de Espana final defeat to Athletic Bilbao.

The Frenchman stated: “I think we defended badly. We did not talk. These are very important details that determine the outcome of a match. When the ball goes or when you have to start running, someone has to shout. Sometimes we shout and sometimes not.”

The reaction left many inside the Barca locker room unimpressed, with some even questioning why Griezmann was the designated player to do the post-match interview.

Barca’s next game is tonight at Copa del Rey opponents Cornella.

Williams’s brilliant strike in extra time earned Athletic Bilbao a 3-2 win over FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday, with Lionel Messi sent off in the final stages.

The Basque side, who last won the trophy in 2015 with a 5-1 aggregate victory over the Catalans, grabbed a last minute equaliser through Asier Villalibre to tie the game at 2-2 and force an extra 30 minutes.

Antoine Griezmann had sent FC Barcelona ahead and restored their advantage with goals either side of Oscar de Marcos’s equaliser.

Williams smashed into the top right corner from the edge of the penalty box three minutes into the additional period and Athletic Bilbao held on to win the trophy at Seville’s La Cartuja stadium.

There was late drama as FC Barcelona captain Messi received the first red card of his career as he swung an arm at Villalibre’s head in frustration in the dying moments of the clash.

Barcelona are determined to keep hold of goalkeeper Neto this month.

Despite rumours of a Neto possible departure in January, Barcelona have not considered parting ways with their second-choice goalkeeper Neto.

The former Valencia shot-stopper has attracted interest from several European teams since last summer.

Mundo Deportivo says Arsenal are one of the clubs that have set sights on Neto. However, Barcelona are clear that they need the Brazilian goalkeeper in the event Marc-Andre ter Stegen picks up an unfortunate injury.

The Blaugrana are willing to offload players to balance their books and make room for new signings, but they have not considered selling Neto.

Neto has made a transfer request at Barcelona amid interest from Arsenal.

Sport says the Brazilian keeper is fed up of playing second fiddle to German international Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

And it is claimed Neto, 31, has handed in a transfer request days after being linked with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.

Neto is understood to have a staggering £177m release clause included in his contract.

But Spanish reports say that Neto has pleaded with Barca to lower his price tag making it easier for him to depart.

And the Catalan Giants are understood to be open to letting the once-capped Brazil intention leave the club.

La Liga: Barca postpone presidential elections

Elections to decide FC Barcelona’s new president have been postponed because of coronavirus, the Spanish La Liga club said on Friday.

The club’s supporters were due to vote on a new president on Jan. 24, but FC Barcelona issued a statement on Friday to confirm they would not take place on that date.

“Due to the mobility restrictions decreed by the (regional) government in the current context of the pandemic, the date of the elections must be delayed,” said the statement.

Movement between municipalities is currently restricted in Catalonia up to Jan. 24.

Temporary president Carles Tusquets will meet with the three presidential candidates Joan Laporta, Victor Font and Toni Freixa Friday afternoon to discuss a new date.

The meeting will also decide whether the club should move in the transfer market.

FC Barcelona are interested in signing Manchester City defender Eric Garcia but transfers are beyond the merit of Tusquets and he will need permission from all candidates to proceed.

Barca presidential candidate: Xavi will convince Messi to stay

Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font is convinced Xavi can help persuade Lionel Messi to stay.

The Al Sadd coach has been mentioned as a future general manager by Font should he win election.

He told Mundo Deportivo: “Messi has explained it, he ideally wants to stay here and finish his sports career at Barça. Before the summer, when the great frustration happened, it was what he had always said and had commented that the most important condition for him is to have a winning and competitive project.

“We have a winning, competitive project, with people like Xavi, in which once again, the trust and credibility of the different assets in a project is fundamental, this credibility and this relationship between Xavi and Messi exists, that’s why I believe it is one of the main reasons and guarantees that Messi will feel very comfortable with our project and we will have many options for him to continue.”

Barcelona presidential candidate: Xavi feels ready, but Koeman…

Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font denies he’s planning to dump Ronald Koeman should he win election.

Font has declared Al Sadd coach Xavi as part of his ticket.

But he told El Espanol: “I answered a question where I was asked if Xavi felt ready.

“He feels ready to help the club when needed. Now we have to support Koeman, who is doing a very good job.”

Previously, Font has said: “If the season ends badly, Xavi would be the coach of FC Barcelona next season and general manager at the same time.”

Barca presidential candidate expects Messi to leave

Barcelona presidential candidate Agusti Benedito believes they’ll lose Lionel Messi this summer.

Asked about the future of the club’s captain, Benedito was frank in his take on the situation.

“Keeping Messi would be the best news for the club, but I’m not very optimistic,” he said in an interview with ESPN.

“I would’ve liked it if in his interview the other week he had said that his wish was to stay at the club, but he didn’t, and now we have to wait and see.

“The truth is that I’m pessimistic. You have to keep in mind that in August he said that he wanted to go after 20 years and he hasn’t said what he wants to do.

“The most probable result I can see is that he leaves us halfway through the year.

“Given the situation at the club, I think it’s important that he stays at Barcelona, he understands what the next two years ahead of us will be like.

“He’s been here for 20 years, he’s a Barcelona fan and I think he’s sensitive to the situation.”

Barca presidential candidate: My rivals are lying

Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa says the club is in a “critical condition”.

Barca will hold their election on the 24th of this month.

Freixa told Marca: “It is a critical situation resulting from negligent management and a pandemic. We are at a time where we are risking it. We must prevent interests outside the club, which are those who are playing in these elections by silencing lies and promoting candidates sponsored by outsiders, from taking over the club.

“There are candidates who continually lie. They lie by saying they have a person that they really don’t have. And there are media outlets that publish it as if it were true. This happens because there are hidden interests. The press is interested in certain candidates winning.

“There are third party interests in controlling the club. It is time that we tell the members that the club is ours and warn them of the danger of Barcelona falling into the hands of third parties.”
