Amid speculations, presidency reveals president Tinubu’s whereabout, return date

The Presidency on Tuesday revealed when Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu would return to the country from his trip to Europe.

According to the presidency, president Tinubu will return to Nigeria on Wednesday  (Today) from his trip abroad.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and strategy to the president, made this known in a statement via his X handle on Tuesday.

His tweet reads“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with his aides, will return to Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” Onanuga stated.

It would be recalled that Tinubu left Abuja on April 22 for the Kingdom of The Netherlands on an official visit.

Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale said the President was visiting The Netherlands on the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Tinubu proceeded to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting between April 28 and 29, after the engagements in The Netherlands.

The President was expected back in the country after the forum in Saudi Arabia.

However, the president’s failure to return to the country as earlier reported has fueled too many speculations with many wondering his whereabouts.

  • Presidential CNG initiative set for May rollout

Presidential CNG initiative set for May rollout

The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) is set for initial rollout to the public by the end of May, a presidential aide has revealed.

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

The initiative is part of the palliatives put in place by President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023 when the fuel subsidy was removed.

To actualise the programme, the President launched the Presidential CNG Initiative in October 2023 to deliver cheaper, safer and more climate friendly energy.

The CNG Initiative iss designed to deliver compressed natural gas, especially for mass transit.

Onanuga said it was part of the many intervention programmes to reduce the burden of increase in pump price on the masses.

He added that government had provided N100 billion (part of the N500 billion palliative budget) to purchase 5,500 CNG vehicles, 100 electric buses and more than 20,000 CNG conversion kits, alongside spurring the development of CNG refilling stations and electric charging stations.

“With necessary tax and duty waivers approved by President Tinubu in December 2023, the PCNGI committee is partnering with the private sector to deliver the promise on the initiative.

The private sector has responded with more than $50 million in actual investments in refuelling stations, conversion centres, and mother stations.

“Also, a safety policy document on 80 standards and regulations that must be strictly adhered to by operators has been developed and approved to ensure CNG conversions are done safely and reliably,” he said.

Onanuga said that the deployment of CNG buses and tricycles and the vision to get at least one million natural gas propelled vehicles on the roads by 2027 would mark a major energy transition in the country’s transportation industry.

He said that the use of more expensive diesel and petrol would gradually be phased out, when many vehicles, including trucks, run on natural gas, adding that 30 of the 36 states had the gas in abundance.

“Remarkably, the Tinubu administration, in driving the nation to the desired destination, has flagged open a new industry, along with thousands of new jobs.

“Four plants owned by JET, Mikano, Mojo, and Brilliant EV located in various parts of the country are involved in the assembly of the Semi Knocked Down (SKD) components of the CNG buses.

“JET, which has received the SKD parts, is coupling the buses in Lagos and is working towards delivering 200 units before the first anniversary of the Tinubu administration.”

Onanuga said that Brilliant EV would assemble electric vehicles meant for Kano and Borno, which would not have access to CNG for now as well as in key Nigerian cities and university campuses.

“In all, over 600 buses are targeted for production in the first phase that will be accomplished this year.

“A new plant on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will assemble thousands of tricycles.

“The SKD parts, manufactured by the Chinese company LUOJIA in partnership with its local partner to support the consortium of local suppliers of CNG tricycles, are set for shipment to Nigeria and expected to arrive early in May.

“About 2,500 of the tricycles will be ready before May 29, 2024.”

He said that thousands of conversion kits for petrol powered buses and taxis that want to migrate to CNG are also ready with CNG cylinders.

The Presidential aide added that the Federal Government intended to provide them at subsidised rates, especially to commercial vehicle drivers, to bring down the cost of public transportation.

Onanuga said that the PCNGI was working with 22 other agencies, including the Standards Organisation of Nigeria and Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Council, to deliver 80 Natural Gas Vehicle Conversion and Associated Appliances Standards for the country.

He added that an app MYCNG.NG to embed the Nigeria Gas Vehicle Monitoring Systems would show CNG conversion and refuelling sites in the country.

“The Tinubu administration is an enabler of the evolving CNG industry.

“In collaboration with the private sector, the PCNGI is set to deliver 100 conversion workshops and 60 refuelling sites spread across 18 states before the end of this year.

“The vision of Mr. President to deliver one million gas vehicles cannot be possible without the private sector, including the RTEAN, NARTO, NURTW, and players in the downstream sector of the transportation chain and financiers.”

  • Tinubu bars associates from celebrating his 72nd birthday

Tinubu bars associates from celebrating his 72nd birthday

President Bola Tinubu has said he would dedicate his 72nd birthday to the task of building a more stable, secure, prosperous and united Nigeria.

He also asked friends and associates wishing to celebrate him to donate such monies to charity organisations of their choice in his name, instead of placing adverts in newspapers or radios.

A statement by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said that Tinubu would mark his birthday on Friday, March 29.

“During an auspicious occasion as this, it is customary for family members, friends and associates to celebrate him in different ways.

“President Tinubu, in deference to this challenging time, said he will not host any birthday event and does not want any of his associates and numerous well-wishers to organise any celebratory event on his behalf or in his name.

“President Tinubu appreciates the honour of being the leader of Africa’s leading nation at this time and he is working very hard to make life better for the generality of our people,” Onanuga said.

He said that the manner of celebration was the President’s responsiveness to the present mood of the nation and recent killing of officers and men of the Army and Police in Delta.

He said that it was also due to the recent spate of security breaches by criminal elements in different parts of Nigeria.

“There should be no form of birthday event and placing of birthday goodwill advertorial messages in newspapers. Goodwill messages should not be placed on radio and television stations too.”

  • Presidency says efforts on to ramp up food supply

Presidency says efforts on to ramp up food supply

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is in the final stages of releasing 42,000 metric tonnes of assorted food items to support the vulnerable populations across the country.

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

He said the grains were bagged in seven locations for onward distributions to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The presidential aide said that after the bagging,  the distribution would commence immediately.

Onanuga said that the  first batch would be complemented by the 60,000 metric tonnes to be purchased by the Federal Government from the Mega Rice Millers.”

The Federal Government is also ramping up food production by boosting Dry Season Farming under the National Agricultural Growth Scheme Agro-Pocket (NAGS-AP) Project .

”The First Phase of the Dry Season Farming was launched in November, 2023. It focuses on the cultivation of wheat across 15 wheat-producing states, covering 118,657 hectares and involving 107,429 farmers.

“The fields are green now and harvest will commence in a matter of weeks. There are fantastic reports of growth of wheat from Jigawa State, which is now targeting harvest from about 50,000 hectares, 10,000 hectares more than initially allotted under the programme.”

He said that the Phase two  of the Dry Season Farming for rice, maize and cassava would commence soon across all 36 states and the FCT.

“For rice, the target is 250,000 hectares involving 500,000 farmers with the expected output of one million metric tons of paddy rice.

“For maize, we are cultivating 55,000 hectares with 110,000 farmers thereby adding 165,000 metric tons to national maize production.

”For cassava, we are doing 35,000 hectares with 70,000 farmers to produce 525,000 metric tons of cassava.

“The NAGS-AP Project offers a 50 per cent  subsidy.

”However, the Federal Government is providing additional support for Phase two, which will bring aggregate subsidy to about 93 per cent to farmers cultivating the crops.”

Onanuga said that state governors are also showing strong support to further enhance the subsidy.

He added that solar-powered water pumps for irrigation are being deployed to aid the upcoming phase of the programme.

  • Presidency ‘invites’ Atiku to proffer solutions to Nigeria’s problems

Presidency ‘invites’ Atiku to proffer solutions to Nigeria’s problems

The presidency has urged Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, to provide better alternatives to challenges of the country.

It said these alternatives solutions will be a better option to the current position of merely mouthing the problems and attributing it to President Bola Tinubu alone.

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made the call in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

“Instead of mouthing platitudes every time in a bid to earn cheap political mileage, Alhaji Atiku who presumes himself as the leader of opposition should tell Nigerians what he would have done better if he had been elected President.

“Atiku should be honest enough to admit that President Tinubu inherited a weak economy, which to all intents and purposes and to ensure the survival of our country needs a complete overhaul.

“The economy was plagued by decades of significant fiscal deficits, a low revenue base, high external and domestic debts, and huge debt service burden.

“The national budget Tinubu met in 2023 showed that 97 per cent of revenue was to be spent on debt servicing, with little reserved for capital, thereby foreclosing growth and jobs.”

Onanuga said that Tinubu has been facing squarely the myriad economic challenges of the country since assumption of office in May 2023.

He said that the issue of oil subsidy removal by Tinubu was a strategy all the major political parties candidates outlined during the 2023 elections as a way to resolve the challenges of Nigeria.

He said that Tinubu, rather than take the easy option of maintaining the status quo of economic profligacy, chose to keep the economy afloat and set it back on the path of growth and prosperity.

“Tinubu is focused on solving our economic and security challenges. The fiscal and monetary policies his administration is pursuing are delivering unprecedented value to investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

“Nigerian Stock Exchange is outperforming others in the world and is now the best, not based on bubble, but record profits by many listed companies.

“President Tinubu acknowledged, on different occasions, that the reforms his government is implementing will cause immediate pains, but will usher in an era of prosperity in the medium and long terms.

“Minus Atiku, reputable local and international agencies who understand the situation the Tinubu administration found itself have commended the administration, having seen a policy trajectory that is clearly positive, realistic and sustainable.

“Atiku’s claims that the private sector is shrinking and that multinational companies are leaving our companies in ‘droves’ are not grounded on facts.

“His claim that the government’s policies have created intense cost of living pressures are also not grounded on facts as recent comparative cost of living indices show that Nigerians still enjoy the lowest cost of living in Africa.”

Onanuga said that the administration has also embarked on comprehensive fiscal and tax policy reform that would drive speedy recovery and spur economic growth.

He said that Nigerians and the global investment communities trust the ability and competence of Tinubu to deliver progress and shared prosperity to Nigerians.

  • Removal of fuel subsidy caused problems – Tinubu’s aide

Removal of fuel subsidy caused problems – Tinubu’s aide

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy has said the removal of fuel subsidy and the move to merge foreign exchange rates caused problems in the country.

Mr Onanuga stressed the removal of fuel subsidy and the move to merge foreign exchange rates caused problems such as high fuel prices and the depreciation of the Naira.

Onanuga further stressed the resultant high fuel prices and the depreciation of the Naira combined to cause a general spike in the costs of services and goods.

The presidential aide, however, noted that his principal was already taking measures to address the challenges brought about by the “bold reforms” introduced by the administration in all sectors of the economy.

Onanuga disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, adding that more of such measures would be taken in 2024.

He said President Bola Tinubu had never shied away from acknowledging the temporary pains triggered by the reforms, stressing that proactive measures would continue to be taken.

“Many of these measures are already being taken and, in the New Year, we expect the silver linings, that are at present understated, to blossom into rays of sunshine to be experienced by all Nigerians.

“The removal of fuel subsidy and the move to merge foreign exchange rates, two headline reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration since late May, caused problems such as high fuel prices and the depreciation of the Naira, two monstrosities which combined to cause a general spike in costs of services and goods,” Onanuga stated.

He said that the latest NBS report put Nigeria’s inflation at 26.7 per cent in September, which rose to 28.2 per cent in November from 27.33 per cent in October, adding that food inflation remained untamed.

He noted, however, that the new policies alone were not solely responsible for the economic problems Nigera is facing today.

“We were destined for the tough and rough patch, where we are today, because of the prevailing conditions before Tinubu took over on May 29.

“As at June 2023, budget deficit was N10.8 trillion. Actual debt service was 98.95 per cent of revenue, far higher than the projected 59.37 per cent. Inflow into the country’s foreign reserve came in trickles.

“And so bad was the state of affairs that Nigeria could not remit about $800 million fund of foreign airlines. JP Morgan exposed our near insolvency by claiming in a report that our net foreign reserve was just about $3.7 billion, not the $33 billion plus flaunted by Emefiele’s CBN.

“President Tinubu, who promised during the campaign to take hard and difficult decisions, moved to tackle the economic problems from Day One, by first dispensing with the wasteful fuel subsidy that was billed to consume about N7 trillion this year, five times more than what was provisioned for capital spending.”

Onanuga said that the situation was, however, taking a positive turn with the NBS report of the third quarter of 2023, adding that the president was focussed on turning the economy round for growth, development and prosperity.

“In its third quarter report for the year, the NBS reported that GDP grew by 2.54 per cent. In a similar period in 2022, GDP recorded a growth of 2.25%.

“To demonstrate that the sun may be shining on us again, the 2.54% GDP growth recorded in Q3, was also higher than the 2.51% recorded in Q2.

“The service sector, made up of information and communication, financial and insurance, was responsible for the growth witnessed in Q3. It had a 3.99% growth, contributing 52.7% of the aggregate GDP. The agriculture sector declined from 1.34% growth in Q2 to 1.3% in Q3.

“Growth was also recorded in construction and real estate, metal ores (69.76%), coal mining (58.03%), chemical and pharmaceutical products (6.77%), cement (4.2%) and construction (3.89%).

“Oil reported a negative growth of 0.85%, a major improvement to the negative 22.67% recorded at the same period last year. It was 13.43% in Q2 of 2022.

“The improvement in the oil sector and its contribution to GDP has been attributed to the improvement in the security of oil infrastructure and operations, leading to increased production.”

He said that there was a big jump in the volume of trade from N12.16 trillion in Q2 to N18.8 trillion, adding that trade volume in the Q2 of 2022 was N12.28 trillion

“We also recorded a trade surplus of N1.89trillion in Q3, an increase from the N708.8 billion in Q2 2023. In Q3 in 2022, we recorded trade deficit of N409.39 billion.

“Value of exports in the third quarter was N10.35 trillion, far higher by 60.78 per cent than the N6.44 trillion posted in Q2 2023. Crude oil dominated the export, accounting for 82.5 per cent, a confirmation that our country is pumping out more oil for export unlike the previous years,” he stated.

  • Yuletide: See companies participating in FG’s  transportation cut scheme

Yuletide: See companies participating in FG’s  transportation cut scheme

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga has provided the list of companies that will be partnering with the Federal Government in its attempt to reduce transportation burden on Nigerians during the Yuletide.

He made this known on Thursday via a post on his X handle, formerly Twitter, where he also attached the route the vehicles will be plying.

Tinubu had yesterday announced a 50 per cent cut in the fares charged by commercial buses on inter-state routes during the Yuletide.

This is as he also approved free rides for commuters on all train services within the period.

Announcing this to State House Correspondents at the Aso Rock Villa on Wednesday, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, said it will commence on Thursday.

He said: “It is in this wise that the President is announcing through us that beginning from tomorrow, December 21, Nigerians willing to travel can board public transport via mini buses, luxury buses at 50 per cent discount of current cost and all our train services on the route the trains currently serve at zero cost on their travels this holiday season”

Speaking further on the development, Onanuga named five transportation companies that will be partnering with the FG to execute the scheme.

According to him, they are GIG (God is Good), Chisco Transport, Young Shall Grow, God Bless Ezenwata, and Area Motor.

Taking to his social media page, Onanuga tweeted: “Participating companies in the FG’s plan to reduce the transport burden of travelling 5 million Nigerians:

“1. GIG ( God is Good), 2. Chisco Transport, 3. Young Shall Grow, 4. God Bless Ezenwata, 5. Area Motor.”

  • Presidency slams PDP, Atiku over comments on judiciary

Presidency slams PDP, Atiku over comments on judiciary

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has called on the PDP and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate, to stop their campaigns of calumny and blackmail against the judiciary.

Onanuga made the call in a statement on Monday in Abuja while reacting to Atiku’s recent allegations against the country’s judiciary.

“In separate statements, the PDP and the spokesman of Atiku Abubakar, its defeated presidential candidate in Feb. 25 presidential election, threw caution to the winds.

“They assaulted the integrity of the judiciary and made wild and libelous allegations against President Bola Tinubu.

“In the wake of the poor run of some elected governors of the party at the appeal court, the PDP and former vice-president and his spokesman have become overtly desperate to hang their woes on President Tinubu and the judiciary, an important arm of government in Nigeria.”

He added that in blaming others, Atiku and his party failed to demonstrate whether they had done any soul-searching before going public with their weighty, specious and reckless allegations.

He urged Nigerians to disregard the malicious allegations by the PDP and its candidate that Tinubu while he was Governor of Lagos State, silenced the opposition and corrupted the judiciary.

He also asked the public to disregard the allegation that Tinubu was planning to foist a one-party state on the country by appointing loyalists as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs).

Onanuga stressed that Tinubu was a democrat to the core who had never interfered with the judgment of the judiciary.

“We had witnessed how under his watch, the PDP governor in Osun defeated the APC at the Supreme Court.

“Similarly, the PDP governor in Bauchi also won his case in the Appeal Court, beating the APC.

“President Tinubu is also not planning to impose a one-party state as Atiku has serially alleged and his party and spokesman have now parroted.

“These allegations are deliberately aimed at unnecessarily heating up the polity and causing disenchantment in our country. They exist only in the imagination of the PDP and the former Vice-President,” Onanuga said.

He added that unlike Atiku Abubakar, President Tinubu’s record as a democrat par excellence and a strong advocate of the rule of law had been globally acknowledged.

According to Onanuga, Tinubu’s record of service as governor which witnessed giant strides in various facets, is responsible for the dominance of his political structure in Lagos State and not by any undemocratic conduct.

“In contrast, it is on record that Atiku Abubakar recently confessed about the electoral heist his party executed in the South-West in 2003 which Tinubu survived out of the six governors of the defunct Alliance for Democracy.

“Atiku and PDP are now crying wolf over the Appeal Court rulings on  governorship polls in Plateau, Zamfara and Nasarawa States.

“We hasten to ask the former vice- president where he was in 2019 when the court ruled against the APC in Zamfara and awarded all the positions won by the APC to PDP,” he said.

Onanuga wondered where Atiku was, also in 2019 when in Rivers, the court stopped APC from fielding any candidate in both the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

He further wondered where Atiku and the PDP were in 2019 when on the eve of the swearing-in of Bayelsa Governor-elect, David Lyon, the Supreme Court handed the victory of the APC  to the candidate of the PDP, Gov. Douye Diri.

“Atiku and PDP then savoured all these court-handed trophies as sweet victories for PDP and celebrated the courts as protectors of democracy.

“Now that the same courts are annulling PDP victories, based on the blatant violations of the law by the lawless party, the party is mudslinging the judiciary and President Tinubu.

“We once again implore Atiku and PDP to stop their campaigns of calumny and blackmail against the judiciary and the honourable judges and justices.

“Judgments are based on law and evidence. In election petition cases, they are based on the Electoral Act and the Constitution, not on sentiments and emotions,” Onanuga stressed.

He added that it was irresponsible and a disservice to our country for the opposition, after failing to observe the letters and spirits of the law, to now turn around to tear down an important arm of government.

  • Presidency tells Peter Obi to rise above personal ambition

Presidency tells Peter Obi to rise above personal ambition

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Monday urged the Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to “prove his belief in Nigeria.”

In a statement titled: “Peter Obi should find better vocation instead of casting aspersions on the Judiciary”, Onanuga also admonished Obi to find another worthwhile vocation to engage his time henceforth.

“If Mr Peter Obi truly believes in Nigeria, the time to prove it is now when all men and women of goodwill are rallying support for President Bola Tinubu in his determination to lead a new era of prosperity, inclusive governance and economic growth.

“Our admonition to Obi is to find another worthwhile vocation to engage his time henceforth, having been rejected by majority of Nigerians who didn’t consider him qualified to lead our country.

“Nigerians rejected Peter Obi and his demagoguery at the poll because he posed present and future danger to the peace, progress and stability of our country,” Onanuga said.

The presidential aide said Obi’s antecedents as Governor of Anambra for eight years didn’t inspire any confidence as someone capable of running a country like Nigeria.

According to him, no tangible records of achievement in the state he governed recommended him for the Presidency of Nigeria.

“The LP presidential candidate in the last election, Mr Peter Obi, addressed a press conference, just like Atiku Abubakar, where he cast aspersions on the Supreme Court.

“He also attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for not declaring him the winner of the February 25, 2023 election.

“We are at a loss as to how the copy-cat Obi and his faction of Labour Party convinced themselves they won an election in which they came a distant third.”

He expressed surprise at the grand delusion that made Obi believe he could have won a national election where he ran the most hateful, divisive and polarising campaign that pitted Christians against Muslims.

“His campaign also tried to pit ethnic groups against each other in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society like Nigeria. Such grand delusion should be a matter for deeper examination.”

“At the press conference where he tried, in vain, to gaslight Nigerians with false claims and innuendos, Mr Obi contradicted himself.

“Here was a beneficiary of judicial pronouncements in the past now castigating the same court because its judgment did not go his way.”

Onanuga said Obi claimed the Supreme Court Justices didn’t consider public opinion in delivering what has been applauded as a most profound judgment in an election appeal.

“Incidentally, the LP candidate presented the most watery and unreasonable petition before any court in the history of electoral cases in Nigeria.

“He made false allegations of rigging and other electoral malpractices yet could not produce any evidence to back up his claims at both the court of first instance and at the apex court.

“In a failed effort to mobilise and retain the support of his supporters, Obi gave them a forlorn hope that he won the election and would prove it before the courts.

“Throughout the trial, his lawyers didn’t present any alternative results different from the results INEC uploaded on the IReV portal and the ones signed by all party agents from the 176,000 polling units.

“We wonder how the LP candidate expected the courts to do justice on the basis of rumours, lies and false narratives by sponsored partisans and fanatical members of his ‘Obidient Movement’

“We expected the LP candidate to know that the supreme court or any other court does not give judgment based on public opinion and mob sentiments.”

The presidential aide noted that judicial pronouncements are based on evidence, precedents and the rule of law.

“Having admitted that the supreme court ruling brought an end to litigation and any challenge to Tinubu as the validly elected leader of Nigeria, Obi should have congratulated Tinubu for his victory and pledged his support, in the spirit of statesmanship.

“But instead, he brought up extraneous matters that he thought the apex court should have considered to declare him the winner.

“In our view, the drowning Obi, just like Atiku, was merely attempting to hold on to a straw in raking up new allegations, which exist only in his imagination and that of his hordes of supporters. ”

Onanuga, therefore, enjoined Obi and his party to play the role of the opposition and start preparing for another shot at the presidency in 2027.

“We hope by then he would campaign on issues and not whip up religious and ethnic sentiments as he did in the last campaign,” he said.

Onanuga reacts to appointment as Tinubu’s SA on information and strategy

Bayo Onanuga has reacted to his appointment as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

Onanuga has promised to serve Tinubu with immediate effect.

He appreciated Tinubu and Nigerians for the confidence reposed in him.

Posting on X, Onanuga wrote: “I will henceforth serve as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s special adviser on information and strategy, with immediate effect.

“I thank the President for his confidence in me. I thank fellow Nigerians who have put me in their prayers and who believe the cap of the new job fits me.”

Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, had disclosed Onanuga’s appointment on Friday.

The President also announced the appointment of a Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Ms. Delu Bulus Yakubu.

Onanuga was a spokesperson for the defunct Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign.
