    BBNaija housemates in darkness as power outrage hits reality show

    The ongoing Big Brother Naija season 10 edition on Friday suffered a rare technical breakdown on leaving many fans across the continent unable to watch the live show for hours.

    The outage, which happened during the ongoing Season 10, left millions of people watching the reality show daily stranded and in confusion after it suddenly went off without warning.

    Although minor glitches have happened before, this latest blackout lasted longer than usual, causing fans to call it something they had never seen before.

    Speaking about the incident, Multichoice, organisers of the show, explained that their technical team was already working to restore normal transmission. The company promised that housemates’ activities would soon return live on air.

    The statement read, “We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue. Rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound.

    “Our technical team is working swiftly to restore power and normal service. Thank you for your patience. Grab a snack, stretch your legs. We’ll be back serving premium entertainment shortly!”

    Missing brother of Mbadiwe Twins found

    Odera Mbadiwe, the missing brother of former Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemates Ocee and Ozee Mbadiwe has been found safely.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Odera went missing on Monday, September 1, 2025, around 10 am as he was last seen at No. 29 Idowu Martins Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The family had via social media pleaded with the public for help, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them or report directly to the nearest police station.

    In a heartfelt announcement, the Greg Mbadiwe family expressed their gratitude to friends, family, and the general public for their support during the ordeal. They wrote: “ANNOUNCEMENT. With hearts full of gratitude to God, we are overjoyed to announce that Odera has been found safely.”

    We sincerely thank our dear friends, family, and the general public for the swift sharing of information, your calls, suggestions, and the outpouring of love and kind assistance that made this possible.”

    The family has requested privacy as they take time to recover from the harrowing experience. “May God richly bless you all,” they added.

    Big Brother Naija Season ten housemate, Sultana has opened up to fellow housemate Jason Jae about a deeply personal experience.

    At just fifteen, she was married off against her wishes, becoming a mother of two girls soon after.

    Now twenty-five, the plus-size model and beautician from Adamawa State says her stubbornness helped her escape that challenging situation.

    In her words: “I was married off really young as a child. Many people have stories to tell. I was really young.”

    When Jason Jae asked her how old she was, she disclosed that she was about 15.

    “It was not something I wanted at the time”, she concluded.

    Former Big Brother Naija, Tacha, has claimed that she would have won the reality show but for her disqualification.

    Tacha while speaking in a recent episode of the ‘Hot Takes’ podcast, explained that she was confident she was going to win because she stood for eviction eleven times and bounced back each time.

    She also added that she’s the most-nominated housemate in the history of the reality show and, as such, she was confident she was going to win.

    “I knew I was going to win. The fact that the other housemates were always putting me up for eviction… In the history of Big Brother Naija, no housemate has stood for eviction as much as I have stood up for. I was up for eleven possible evictions.

    “But the fact that I kept bouncing back, I knew I had massive supporters outside,” she said.

    Pere Egbi, former Big Brother Naija star has taken to social media to mourn the tragic death of his friend.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Pere, in a post via the microblogging platform, X formerly Twitter on Monday, revealed that the tragic loss was a result of relentless online bullying.

    Although the media personality did not give specific details about the tragedy, he stated that the incident occurred on Monday.

    He said, “I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well.”

    Evicted Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Oluwakayikunmi Ajibade, known as ‘Kayikunmi’, has opened up about the impact of his relationship with Isabella on his time in the house.

    The 25-year-old Ekiti indigene, in an interview with  on Wednesday, said he struggled to be seen beyond her (Isabella’s) shadow.

    He reflected on how his calm and reserved personality may have been drowned out by Isabella’s more dominant presence.

    “In a relationship, there’s always a stronger person. She was much more outgoing than I was, she was louder. I was more calm and reserved,” he said.

    KayiKunmi said Isabella’s strong personality did not sit well with several housemates and it affected how people engaged with him.

    “In as much as the relationship was early, a lot of people didn’t get to know me for me or talk to me because not everyone liked Isabella.

    “She was not the most loved person in the house and when we were in the house, I would want to have conversations with certain people but all they would be saying is, ‘I don’t want issues, I don’t want this and that’.

    “So, a lot of people didn’t get to know me as much, except the people that were open-minded and didn’t care,” he said.

    Kayikunmi who seemed to have taken things in good fate said, “Regardless, I think it was not necessarily negative, but it is what it is, and I can’t cry over spilt milk.”

    Big Brother Naija BBNaija Season 10 launched with a double premiere on July 26 and July 27, as Kayikunmi and another housemate, Otega, were evicted on Sunday, Aug. 18.

    In October 2022, Rico Swavey died in a ghastly motor accident. Before his unfortunate demise, Rico Swavey participated in the 2018 Big Brother Naija Double Wahala, where he was one of the most beloved contestants.

    On Monday afternoon, Biggie gathered all the housemates to pay respect to their dead colleagues. Pictures of the late reality stars were played on screen, and a minute of silence was held in tribute to them.

    Since its inception, BBNaija has lost three of its housemates, Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey.

    Francisca Owumi – Runner-up of the very first BBNaija season (2006). Known for her vibrant energy and unforgettable dance moves, she paved the way for many who came after. She passed in August 2024 after a brief illness.

    BBNaija’s Ka3na under fire for inserting herself into Davido and Chioma’s wedding

    Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Ka3na Jones, has faced heavy criticism online after she posted a photoshopped image replacing Chioma Rowland in one of her wedding pictures with popular singer Davido.

    The reality star shared the edited photo on her Instagram page while congratulating the couple, who recently had their white wedding ceremony. In the altered image, Ka3na took Chioma’s place beside Davido in a pre-wedding shot.

    In her caption, Ka3na wrote that bloggers were allegedly editing her “wedding photos,” before claiming that the picture she posted was the “real” one. She also added congratulatory words to the singer and his wife.

    Her caption read, “Bloggers be out here photoshopping my wedding pics.

    “Here’s the real photo. Y’all made our day so special.

    “Chivido2025

    “Congratulations to the bride & groom @davido @thechefchi.”

    The post quickly attracted backlash from Instagram users, many of whom described her action as disrespectful to Chioma and unnecessary.

    Big Brother has, on Tuesday came hard on contestants after issuing double strike to Bright Morgan, and final warning to Kuture, and a one-week alcohol ban to Sultana following a string of heated confrontations in the BBNaija Season 10 house.

    The disciplinary actions came after incidents involving threats of violence, physical intimidation, and drunken misconduct.

    Kulture received a final warning for openly displaying violent behavior.

    Big brother banned Sultana from consuming alcohol for one week, including the upcoming Saturday night party.

    This punishment stems from her urinating in Dede’s cloth box, a behavior deemed unacceptable by Big Brother.

    Sultana alcohol is not an acceptable excuse. In your drunken state, you almost damaged Big Brother’s floor and the property of your fellow housemate. You are hereby banned from consuming alcohol for one week, including the parties,” Biggie said.

    Biggie also issued a double strike to Bright Morgan for his misconduct towards Faith.

    For your conduct, you are hereby issued a double strike; one more strike and you will be disqualified from Big Brother’s house. Do you understand?” Big Brother declared.

    Faith responded, “Yes, biggie.”
