    Phyna, the former Big Brother Naija housemate has confirmed the death of her sister, Ruth Otabor, who was involved in a tragic accident with a Dangote truck on August 13, 2025.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Ruth passed away on August 31, 2025, at 6:30, leaving her family and fans in shock and grief.

    The accident occurred near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, where Ruth was hit by a Dangote truck driven by an allegedly underage and unlicensed driver. The incident resulted in severe leg injuries, leading to the amputation of one leg.

    Phyna shared the heartbreaking news through an official statement released by her solicitor on her Instagram page, requesting privacy during this difficult time to mourn her sister. As written in the public statement released to the public: “We remain solicitors to Ruth Otabor, Josephine Otabor (whose moniker is Phyna) and the Otabor family and have their instructions to inform the general public of this. With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on of their daughter, sister, mother on the 31st day of August 2025 at about 6:30Hrs.”

    It continued: “The family is presently grieving and will appreciate given private moment to mourn the departed. The funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due course.”

    The accident had sparked a heated debate on social media, with Phyna calling out the Dangote Group over their response to the incident.

    She questioned their commitment to her sister’s well-being and accused them of manipulating the situation. The Dangote Group, on the other hand, released a statement expressing their commitment to Ruth’s medical care and providing appropriate compensation.

    As the news of Ruth’s passing spreads, fans and fellow celebrities have taken to social media to pay their condolences to Phyna and her family.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the  Students’ Union Government (SUG), president of Auchi Polytechnic,  announced her passing to the public.

    Ruth was involved in an accident on August 13, by a truck owned by The Dangote Group. The crash happened only six days after Ruth’s graduation.

    The accident left her with severe injuries, leading to the amputation of her left leg.

    Many of Phyna’s fans have taken to social media to express their shock, praying for strength and comfort for the reality star and her loved ones in this difficult time.

    “I just want to protect my marriage and reduce some of the things I put out there”, she stated.

    Former Big Brother Naija reality show contestant, Ka3na has taken to social media to express frustration over the difficulty she’s experiencing parenting her daughter alone since her husband’s death.

    It would be recalled that the reality star’s husband, Mr Jones, died of cancer in May 2023.

    The mother of one, via Instagram on Wednesday, August 6th, disclosed that she never imagined herself being a widow, let alone a single mother.

    Taking to her Instagram page, she expressed regret over her inability to foretell what was to come next, so as to make better decisions.

    She added that the adage’life gets better with time’ is a lie and untrue for single parents.

    Taking to her Instagram, she wrote:  “Nobody ever tells you, “Hey Katie, this amazing man you’re about to marry only has five more years to live, make every second count.” Or, “Don’t rush into having kids… he’s going to die and leave you a widow and a single mother in your prime”.

    Would I have done anything differently if I knew? Honestly, no. Because I can’t imagine my world right now without my baby girl. I Miss Mr. Jones every passing day🖤

    But am I angry sometimes? Tired? Worn out? Yes.

    Do I wish someone would just look at me and say, “Katie, take a break… I got this”?

    Absolutely!!!

    Kimoprah whose real name is Kimberly Chinonso Opara, a former Big Brother Naija housemate has come under heavy criticism after recounting a recent experience with a cab driver who wanted her phone number.

    The reality star, during a recent episode of BTS Reality podcast pondered on the audacity of some men during her trips abroad, hinting that, she wasn’t interested in such men.

    She revealed that on the contrary, the class of men she’s interested in often don’t approach her.

    Speaking during the BTS podcast session, here is what she has to say, “Taxi drivers try to talk to me, men have audacity. When you travel abroad, you know how it is there, they don’t really care about class, they can talk to anybody. Anybody is within right of speech.

    “I have had people like Immigration officers trying to talk to me. But the people that you want to attract, those ones shy away. It’s even better you shy away because that means you’re not for me. So, it’s okay. The one that is meant for me would eventually come and will stay.”

    Her statement attracted alot of backlash from netizens who condemned her for making such a statement.

    Contrary to popular belief, Tacha stated that many Nigerians in the UK are barely surviving, with some even living less comfortably than their counterparts in Nigeria, particularly due to the high cost of living in the UK.

    Tacha further stated that, from her observation, many people in Nigeria are living more comfortably than those abroad, especially with the rising cost of living in the UK.

    “You see, those of you who always have an inferiority complex in Nigeria, thinking everyone here is rich, most people here are broke. The most broke people I have met are the people I met in the UK. Everyone is holding themselves. It is expensive.”

    “Trust me when I tell you that the living situation here is not rosy. Most people in Nigeria are living better off than people living here. So if you want to move, go ahead, but not with the mentality of ‘oh, it’s all rosy.’ You see yourself spending 300k on a freaking taxi in a freaking day, 1 million on a car in a week unless you want to use the train. Think about your decision,” she said.

    The reality star via her Instagram on Sunday questioned the rationale behind age-shaming women getting older.

    She emphasized that she would rather grow older than die young, stating that ageing is a privilege.

    “There is no shame in aging. Aging is a privilege.
    I’d rather grow older in purpose than be six feet under with regrets.“

    She went further to say, “some people have all the money in the world- and still wish they had more day to breathe.”

    Big Brother Naija star, Abiri popularly known as KokobyKhloe has addressed the recent brawl with a friend during a wedding trip in Lake Como, Italy.

    It would be recalled a young lady had via her Snapchat claimed that Khloe almost killed her. In response, Lifestyle entrepreneur Sunky O also publicly accused the BBNaija star, of physically assaulting her friend during the wedding trip.

    According to Sunky who used to be very close to Khloe, in a statement on Monday, Khole violently attacked her roommate while they were staying at a villa for a wedding celebration.

    However, in a long thread on Instagram, the reality TV star and entrepreneur has broken her silence, noting that what was meant to be a joyful getaway to celebrate love quickly turned into a nightmare.

    According to the reality star, tension began even before the wedding, after Sunky who had accommodation issues, begged the villa host to allow him to stay.

    She said to avoid tension, she handled logistics from Milan to Como, however, things got awkward when Chizoba, the lady who accused her of beating her up, and another lady known as Caramel, ended up in the same space. Khloe said she tried to be a peacemaker, even encouraging them to talk it out. Instead, things spiraled.

    She claimed Chizoba lashed out during the wedding event, screaming threats, and even demanded the villa keys. Khloe said she refused, not to spite her, but because she didn’t want the other guests stranded. The refusal, she claimed, triggered violence.

    According to Khloe, she was ambushed at the venue, slammed into a wall, dragged down the stairs, and later physically attacked in the villa. She said Chizoba, Sunky, and others ganged up on her, slammed her into glass, tried to throw her off a balcony, and left her bruised and bleeding.

    “I didn’t beat her,” Khloe said, referring to Chizoba. “I held her tight because she was screaming. But I was the one tossed around. I was the one bleeding.” she wrote

    She claimed she was punched in the stomach, an area she recently had surgery on, and even when she begged them to stop, they didn’t.

    “I cried out, ‘Please not my stomach!’ but he kept hitting,” she wrote.

    Khloe addressed the viral clips that surfaced online, one of which showed her smiling. She explained that her older friends had called her during the incident and advised her not to say anything to avoid making the situation worse.

    As for that smile, she claimed it was simply a response to being under pressure. She denied being the aggressor, stating that if she truly had been, she would have been arrested when the police arrived. Instead, she said the police offered her an ambulance and asked if she wanted to press charges, but she declined.

    Khloe concluded her statement by apologizing to her followers and her team. She acknowledged that she made a mistake by putting Caramel and Chizoba in the same space without knowing their full history. While she took responsibility for that decision, she insisted that nothing justified the violence she allegedly experienced.

    “This isn’t a pity post. It’s just the truth,” she wrote.

    Now, she says she’s choosing “healing, facts, and legal action. No more silence. No more cover-ups.”

    “I’ll let my bruises speak,” Khloe said. “Because how can one person fight five people?”

    “Its probably shocking but can you imagine that this is my life and I’m an adult and I can do whatever i like. And that shocking again, I am not homophobic and did you guys also know that because you think something is bad doesn’t  mean the other person shares the sames beliefs as you? Did you guys also know that we will die one day and your opinions will be nothing more than a whisper caught in the wind? (SIC)”

    She concluded her statements with a declaration of support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

    ‘I love the gays and i love the girls, let me even apologixe for any part of my personality that prompted anyone to believe otherwise?? I am not homophobic, so sorry. Up rainbow abeg,” she said.
