    BBNaija: Chomzy emerges first female head of house

    Chomzy, one of the housemates of the ongoing television reality show, Big Brother Naija,  season 7,  has emerged the head of house for week five.

    This was announced by Biggie after the head of house challenge held on Monday. Biggie rewarded Chomzy with one week stay in the head of house lounge as she would also be immune from nominations for possible eviction.

    Chomzy picked fellow housemate, Eloswag, as her deputy, thereby making him her room partner in the exclusive head of house lounge.

    The first phase of the head of house game started with the female housemates moving “Donkwas” from a stool on one end of the arena to another. The male housemates also competed against each other in the second round but were disqualified for not following the rules.

    The housemates with the highest number of “Donkwas” went for the second phase. Chomzy and Bella, who led in the female category, made it to the second phase where they were made to recreate a reference image with coloured candies.

    Bella was the first to finish her task but did not perfect it which made Chomzy emerge as the first female head of house.

    Two housemates, Kess and PharmSavi, were exited from the Big Brother Naija “Level Up” show on Sunday, as level one and level two housemates were merged into one.

     

    Big Brother made the merging of the housemates known shortly after the live eviction show.

     

    At first, he asked all level one housemates excluding Groovy to move into the arena for a game.

     

    While they were at the arena, the camera focused on level two housemates who were undergoing eviction.

     

    Phyna broke down in tears after seeing that her lover (Groovy) was nowhere to be found.

    After the eviction show, the level one housemates were instructed to join level two at the lounge.

     

    The game was then reset to the usual way of nominations.

     

    Meanwhile, Phyna broke down in tears after seeing that Groovy was nowhere to be found.

    Biggie made a shocking decision on Friday night with the first switch of housemates, this season.

     

    Groovy was the ”sacrificial lamb for balance” on the night as Biggie swapped the house of Deji and Groovy.

     

    After the Week 4 wager presentation, Fake housemate, Deji finalized his secret task when Biggie asked him to share the grievances he has with fellow Level 1 housemates.

     

    He stated unequivocally his intention to move to Level 1 house, Biggie duly granted his wish; making him a level 2 housemate.

     

    For the sake of balance, Biggie ordered Groovy to pack his bags and move to the level 1 house.

     

    Groovy and his fellow housemates could not hide their disbelief, as Phyna protested against Biggie’s decision.

     

    Biggie asked her to keep quiet, affirming his decision that Groovy should move to the other house.

     

    Phyna sobbed uncontrollably as she was saddened by the separation from her lover.

     

    Phyna and Groovy started a relationship last week after Groovy’s former lover, Beauty was disqualified from the house.

     

    It is evident that Phyna cannot stand the separation as Groovy tried to pacify her.

     

    Groovy asked Biggie if he would get his pocket earnings but Biggie promised to explain later.

     

    The saddened lover, Phyna felt Groovy would not feel comfortable in the other house, especially with the food shortage.

     

    Groovy was later given an emotional farewell by all the Level 2 housemates as he makes a mental switch to Level 1 house.

    Big brother Naija level-up season 7 housemate, Groovy, has cleared the air about his relationship with ex-housemate, Beauty Tukura.

     

    The 43rd Miss Nigeria (Beauty), in her first-ever interview after her disqualification, said she fell in love with fellow housemate contestant Groovy because of his personality.

     

    When asked what attracted her to Groovy, she replied: “Most of the guys I date are very calm; it was his calm demeanour; he does this thing where he just looks at me straight in my eyes, and you know he’s just always looking”.

     

    Beauty, who hails from Taraba State, had said she developed “real emotions” toward Groovy, and they began dating before the second week, after the first Saturday night house party.

     

    She explained they had a conversation under the duvet where they agreed to get into a relationship.

     

    Unperturbed by Beauty’s intention for a relationship, the most-sought housemate (Groovy) stated that he is done with the 43rd Miss Nigeria and won’t have anything to do with her even outside the house.

     

    His stand was made known during a conversation with fellow housemate, Doyin, who also think Groovy position was ok.

     

    This might come as shock to fans of Beauty who might still be hoping Groovy and Beauty’s relationship will blossom outside the house.

    Expectations are high for ardent viewers of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show to see the merger of the season 7 level up houses.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the BBNaija season 7 launched with the introduction of two houses, tagged level one and level two.

    However, the head of house challenge and the pattern of nomination for the season have favoured the level one house so far. Level one house has consecutively won the head of house challenge giving the housemates in the house immunity. This has left level 2 short in the number of housemates.

    However, level two has mostly won the wager challenge, meaning they have more to eat, while they are the ones always faced with eviction. The development has left organizers of the show tinkering on how to balance things up.

    In the diary session on Wednesday, Biggie asked housemates to nominate which of their fellow housemates should relocate with the view to balancing things up.

    While Deji and Groovy switched levels on Friday, there are indications that Big Brother might merge both houses during the live eviction show on Sunday.

    If both houses are merged during the live eviction show, here are new things viewers are likely to experience, going forward.

    • HOH lounge will open

    So far, housemates in the likes of Eloswag (twice), Adekunle and Hermes, who have won the head of house challenge have not had the opportunity to enjoy the privilege of the head of house lounge. If level one and level houses are merged on Sunday, there is the likelihood that the head of house lounge will open after the head of house challenge on Monday.

    • Maybe executive lounge too

    The executive lounge is a private lounge in the Big Brother house accessible only at specified periods. The executive lounge is usually opened for housemates who performed outstandingly in certain tasks and are rewarded by Biggie. A housemate so rewarded is usually given the privilege to nominate housemate(s) to enjoy the executive lounge with.

    • No more minimal efforts and maximum bragging from both housemates and stans

    So far, housemates in level one have been saved from possible nominations by Eloswag, Adekunle and Hermes but all the housemates have claimed glory and bragged about it as though they have been outstanding. When both houses are merged, Aside from the head of house, every housemate would be up for possible nomination.

    • No more hiding

    With every housemate up for possible nomination, aside from the head of house, it means there is no more hiding place for level one housemates. When the houses are merged, the strength and weaknesses of level one housemates will lay bare.

    • Save and replace

    When the level one and level two houses are merged, and housemates now have to nominate themselves for possible eviction, the right of head of house to save and replace might return to the game.

    • No L2 will be going home for a while

    This one is dicey, but it is possible that when both houses are merged, level two housemates might be pitied by voters and kept in the house if they are up for eviction since their house has suffered most in the eviction that has occurred in the season of the show so far. Except, of course, the nomination pattern again fell on them.

    However, the BBNaija reality tv show has largely remained unpredictable. That is what makes the show tick, anyways. Everyone is open to surprises.

    Recall that ever since Beauty was disqualified from the house, Groovy and Phyna have on several occasions been caught making out.

     

    However, in a recent heart-to-heart conversation that the duo had, Groovy begged Phyna to reduce the way she kisses and tries to sit on his lap.

     

    In his words: “We need to reduce our public display of affection. Let’s stop this display, the kissing and you trying to sit on my laps.”

     

    Phyna was hurt by his statement and insinuated that he is only saying that because he does not like her.

     

    However, Groovy tried comforting her, reassuring her that feelings grow when people spend more time together.

     

    He also told her not to judge him simply because he told her not to kiss or sit on his lap.

     

    In his words: “You believe I don’t like you because of that, no. You actually believe I don’t like you. Do you think other people believe the same thing? You don’t know. I am happy for the first time you aren’t concerned about what other people think.

    During their salacious moment, a housemate pull a funny stunt by closing the door which sparked reactions among netizens.

    33-year-old Diana Isoken Edobor, popularly known as Diana, a housemate in the Big Brother Naija Season 7 “Level Up” has revealed that she would like to date the Big Brother Naija host, Ebuka Obi Uchendu.

     

    Diana made this known following a question the Head of House, Eloswag, asked the housemates which celebrity they would like to date.

     

    She answered the question and said it would be Ebuka.

     

    Unfortunately, Ebuka Uchendu is a married man with children.

     

    Diana is also a Project Manager from Edo State.

     

    She was born in France but now calls Abuja home.

     

    The BBNaija housemate confirmed in an interview that she is single.

     

    “Guys perceive me as sophisticated, high maintenance and too expensive to approach. When they eventually get to know me, they realize I am actually a very lovable and down-to-earth person,” she said.

     

     

    Ebuka Uchendu is a Nigerian lawyer and media personality from Okija in Anambra State, Nigeria.

     

    He is known for hosting the reality show Big Brother Naija, the long-running Rubbin’ Minds talk show on Channels TV as well as co-hosting The Spot and Men’s Corner on Ebonylife television.

     

    The BBNaija host is an ambassador for Budweiser Nigeria, Samsung Nigeria, PorkMoney, and 2Sure Nigeria.

     

    He has received several award nominations and won the award for Outstanding TV Presenter of the Year at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards for his work on Rubbin’ Minds.

     

    Born in Benin City, Edo State to a banker father and a mother who is a nurse, he is the third of four children with an elder sister as well as one older brother, and a younger brother.

     

    He went through with his nursery and primary education in the mid-western Nigerian city of Benin, remarkably passing the Common Entrance Examination into secondary school from Primary Four. He subsequently moved to the capital city of Abuja with his family.

     

    The BBNaija host had his secondary education at Christ The King College Abuja, graduating in 1997, before getting his university education at the University of Abuja, up until 2004.

     

    Ebuka Uchendu proceeded to the Nigerian Law School Bwari, Abuja finishing in 2005 he then returned to school after a 5-year working gap, graduating in December 2010 from the Washington College of Law of the American University Washington D.C., with Master of Laws degree specializations in Intellectual Property as well as Communications law from the Law and Government program.

    The housemates were nominated for eviction on Monday by Eloswag, the new head of house for week four.

    Eloswag, who gave reasons for his nominations, said he picked Chizzy because of his attitude toward level 1 housemates.

    He said he chose Daniella because he felt she was no longer comfortable on the show after her “lover”, Khalid, had been evicted on Sunday.

    According to him, Modella and Pharmsavi were nominated because he wanted to examine the strength of their fan base, while he feels Kess wanted to go home, probably because he is married.

    Biggie, the coordinator of the show, said that the nominated housemates were not allowed to campaign for votes as the voting portal opens.

    He announced the tail of the house as Phyna, who had the worst performance during the head of house task.

    According to Biggie, she is expected to speak in alien and sign languages at specific period during the week.

    Modella joined the show as a fake housemate while Chizzy is one of Big Brother’s riders. Both housemates have extended immunity from evictions.

    The winner of this year’s edition will go home with a grand prize of N100 million — the highest ever since the inception of BBNaija.

    Level 2 housemates of the ongoing television reality show, Big Brother Naija, Season 7, have won the week 3 wager challenge.

    Biggie, the coordinator of the show, announced this upon completion of the challenge as he rewarded each housemate in the level 2 house 1,500 pocket naira, to be used to purchase their needs in the house.

    According to Biggie, the housemates were assessed based on their level of creativity, innovation and quality of presentation.

    The winning housemates are Groovy, Ilebaye, Bryan, Amaka, Phyna, Modella, Pharmsavi, Kess, Eloswag, Khalid, Daniella and Chizzy.

    The housemates from the two level houses were given African fabrics a week ago to individually make different African styles, using their bare hands with needle and thread, these attires were used for a fashion show.

    At the end of the fashion show presentation, Biggie commended Hermes, Phyna, Allyson, Chichi and Modella for creating beautifully made attires.

    25 housemates are currently bidding for the grand prize of N100 million.

    The wife of Kesiena Tony Adjekpovu, the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season seven housemate, better known as Kess, has suffered a miscarriage.

     

    The management of the reality TV show confirmed the news in a statement the 28-year-old housemate’s family released on his official Instagram.

     

    According to the statement, Kess’ wife recently suffered a miscarriage.

     

     

    “The past weeks have been most trying for the family of Adjepkovu. We are saddened by the loss of Kess’s son through miscarriage but we are comforted by the well wishes and kind thoughts of friends around.

     

    “Special regards to the wife for being strong and courageous through the whole experience. The family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss but we want to reiterate that the wife is in perfect condition as it happened weeks ago, the family collectively decided now is the right time to announce the news.

     

    “Kess is a strong character and would need our prayers right now as he continues his quest in the Bigbrother show. The family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you. Team Kess,” the statement reads.

    BBNaija: Kess's wife suffers miscarriage

     

    TheNewsGuru.com recalls that three-day into the Big Brother Naija show, reports revealing that Kess lost his son surfaced on social media.

     

    Part of the news reads: “It’s a painful thing to announce that our Big brother (Season 7) housemate “@Officialking_kess” lost his Son to the cold hands of death on the 3rd day the show started.”

     

    The news generated mixed-view on Twitter as many sympathised with the housemate while others received it as propaganda.

     

    Kess is a Nigerian businessman from Delta State.

    He says he is married and had a chat with his wife before coming to the show, and that he just wants to enjoy his life and leave everything behind.

     

    Kess revealed that family is everything to him and lists one of his brothers as his best friend. Also, he says that he is a stubborn person and this would come off as annoying to others.

     

    He has always dreamed of being in the BBNaija house having always watched the show and envisioned himself on it.
