A popular Nigerian Christian content creator, White Oluwasunkanmi Barry better known as Son of Prophet, has explained that he stopped imitating renowned preacher, Bishop David Oyedepo, after he began to grow bald.

The comic creator made this known while speaking with media personality Teju Babyface, disclosing that he was genuinely surprised when he began to lose his hair at a young age.

He added that the anointing was quite much for him, so he had to desist from mimicking the lead pastor of Living Faith Church.

Son of Prophet began to gain prominence in the early 2010s and became a mainstay in the Christian media scene courtesy of his ability to imitate preachers, especially Bishop David Oyedepo. He has since continued to make comedy skits, and he is also a missionary.

Initially, Son of Prophet was thought to be one of the biological sons of Bishop Oyedepo; however, the rumour has been dispelled as they only share a striking resemblance.

The daughter of Bishop David Oyedepo, Love Ogah has recounted an account of a failed assassination attempt on her father, the presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, by hired killers.

While speaking during a church gathering in a viral video, Love who urged the congregation to cultivate a personal relationship with God, narrated how the assailants, broke into their house with the intent to kill Bishop Oyedepo, but could not find him despite searching the entire property.

“I remember when we were growing up. I think I was in secondary school then. One particular night, we were visited in our house by hired killers. They came to our house and specifically stated from the gate that, ‘We are here to execute him.’ By him, they meant my father. Our house was like a war zone,” she recounted.

She further described how the attackers rampaged through their home, “The most interesting thing that stuck with me since I was a child is that he was looking at them the entire time, but they couldn’t see him. They ransacked our house for hours. There was a time we hid behind the door, and they shut the door. The door hit my lips, and my top gum came off and was dangling.”

According to her, after hours of confusion and fear, something miraculous happened.

“My aunt came into the house and was crying, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know what would have happened, oh my God, where is he?’ And my father came out of his room. We all thought it was a movie. He said, ‘I was staring at them the entire time.’ They entered his room, ransacked everywhere, and he was looking, but they couldn’t find him. That image has never left my brain.”

She closed her message with a call for spiritual preparedness:

“When you are in the centre of God’s will for your life, challenges will come and test what you stand for. You can’t fake this thing forever. That’s why I’m begging, for your own destiny, know God for yourself, because the enemies that want to execute you are plenty. But when you are in God, you are coming from a place of victory. They can’t touch you.”

“The offering didn’t buy it oo! God bought it. There was person contacted under heaven. No! God said it and I believe it and that settles it.

“It wasn’t an ambition, it was a unveiled divine agenda. If God asked me David when do you want that aircraft to be bought j would have said “God take it easy, take it easy, we are not near ready. Aircraft?”

“Okay, let me find out first how much they sell it, he didn’t give us the room to find out. Not the aircraft that would go from here to Ilorin or Ogbomosho, we travel the whole of Africa with the aircraft.”

‘Mind your business’ – Oyedepo slams critics of two prominent pastors quitting Winners chapel

The founder of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has slammed those criticizing the church leadership following the retirement of two prominent bishops in the church.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the bishop’s remarks come shortly after reports of two prominent Vice Presidents of the church, Bishops David Olatunji Abioye and Thomas Aremu,  exiting service from this October 2024 emerged on social media.

It has been reported that their retirement is in accordance with the operational guidelines of the Liberation Commission, also referred to as the Mandate, which serves as the church’s constitution.

While the church’s founder, Oyedepo, retains the right to serve for life, others must retire from 60 to 55, according to The revised Mandate.

Responding to criticisms, Oyedepo, while delivering his sermon at the valedictory service for Bishop Aremu at Winners Chapel, Orita Bashorun, on Tuesday, said critics should be quiet and mind their business.

The clergyman stated that those wishing for the ministry’s downfall were wasting their lives.

Oyedepo also revealed that the church’s Administrative Policy of 1998 was reviewed in 2001, while The Mandate of 2012 was revised in 2024, adding that the ministry operates by divine order.

He said, “My advice to commentators is to study to be quiet and mind your business. It is wisdom to learn what is working and find out what makes it work. Everything works here.”

Two prominent pastors quit Oyedepo’s Winners Chapel

Two prominent Vice Presidents of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishops David Olatunji Abioye and Thomas Aremu, will take their exit from service this October 2024.

Their retirement is in line with the operational guidelines of the Liberation Commission, also known as the Mandate, which serves as the church’s constitution.

Bishop Thomas Aremu’s valedictory service will be held at the Living Faith Church, Basorun, Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Meanwhile, Bishop David Abioye’s farewell ceremony will take place in Durumi, Abuja on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Bishop David Abioye, who first encountered Bishop David Oyedepo in 1979, has been an integral part of the ministry since its early days.

He was among the pioneering pastors of the ministry, taking charge of one of the first five branches established in 1987. Abioye’s consecration in 1993 at the Garden of Faith, Barnawa, Kaduna, made him the youngest bishop in the history of a full-fledged church at the age of 32.

Similarly, Bishop Thomas Aremu, who transitioned from a career in accounting to full-time ministry, has also played an important role in the church’s development.

Among the seven bishops consecrated in November 1999 at the Garden of Faith, Aremu is the only one who remains in service.

His faithful service over the years has earned him deep respect within the church.

This occasion is particularly important, as it represents the first time that Living Faith Church will publicly celebrate the retirement of its pastors.

According to the revised Mandate, the retirement age, previously set at 60, has now been adjusted to 58.

While the Founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, retains the privilege of lifelong service, future leaders of the church will be limited to one or two seven-year terms, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees.

Isaac Oyedepo, the son of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church, has confessed that he used to struggle with p0rnography at a point in his life.

Isaac disclosed that he got indulged in P0rnography during a trip to an European country.

Featuring on a podcast “Confession Box,” Isaac said he overcame through the help of God.

According to Isaac: “My confessions are good ones that will help people. I struggled with p0rnography before.

“I remembered how it started, we travelled to one country and I was meant to be in the room alone, I switched on the TV and that’s it.

“But God brought me out of it very quickly. A lot of people still struggle with it and I think of somebody who had struggled with it and had walked up to me and told me how to come out, I would have come out quickly.

“I think people feel there are things we shouldn’t talk about, but today there are some pastors and church members still struggling with it.

“You may be anointed, seeing signs and wonders but it does not mean you are standing right.

“There is this old saying that if it’s working it means you are standing right but I found out that it’s not always the case. There are times I found out I wasn’t right, but grace and mercy found me.

“For the sake of someone who is genuine in the congregation, God can bypass you to meet the person; this is my confession.”

  • [Video] What we need now is not a leader, it’s a deliverer – Oyedepo

[Video] What we need now is not a leader, it’s a deliverer – Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, senior pastor of the Living Faith Church worldwide, has disclosed that Nigeria as a nation does not need a leader, but rather what it needs, is a deliverer.

He made this known at the ongoing Shiloh program at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State yesterday.

Lamenting about the deplorable state of security and economic crises in the country, the clergyman said he warned Nigerians in 2015 that the country was heading for crisis.

“I think I’m prompted by the spirit we need to pray for this nation. I warned this nation in 2015 that we were heading for crisis and trauma, many were washing their mouth. They are off today.

God does not require consensus to raise a prophet. I saw a nation going down the drain, I cried. There are many prophets of politicians who speak what they want to hear.

I have been very silent. What we need now is not a leader, it is a deliverer.”he said
