    Ayra Starr releases artwork and track list for her upcoming sophomore album

    Nigerian superstar,  Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr,  has released an artwork and track list for her upcoming sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21’.

    The Grammy nominated singer, who took to her social media pages to surprised her fans with an artwork and track list for her upcoming sophomore album, said she looked like a bag of money as she snapped on the artwork.

    According to her,  picturing in a highway setting while leaning on a vintage car made her to  look  like a bag of money.

    “Track list ‘The Year I Turned 21’ otherwise called ‘TYIT21’ is now available for preorder and will be released officially on May 31, 2024,” she wrote.

    The music star already had the entire country anticipating her album, including fellow superstars such as  Nigerian music star Wizkid,  who  reposted her artwork unveiling and showing support with a tag “Love it”.

    The album featured some heavyweights across different countries in the world like Nigeria’s Asake and Seyi Vibes, America’s Giveon and Coco Jones, and Brazil’s Anitta, amongst others.

    Starr is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, who  began a fashion career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management before deciding to pursue a career in music.

    After  covering  several songs by popular artists on Instagram, she posted her first original song on her page in December 2019.

    The posting brought her to the attention of record executive  Don Jazzy, who  later signed her to his record label  Marvin Record.

    The singer later achieved mainstream international recognition in 2022, with the released of her song “Rush”.

    The song charted in several territories, including Switzerland, Ireland and the United Kingdom, where it peaked at number 24.

    The song earned Starr her first nomination at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for Best African Music Performance.

    With the song, Starr became the youngest African Female Artist to surpass 100 Million views on a single video on  YouTube, and also the first to do so within five months.

    Brazil football legend, Kaka, has finally spoken on the divorce saga with ex-wife  in 2015.

    Kaka’s ex-wife recently opened up and revealed some bizzare claims on why she left the marriage.

    It would be recalled that Kaka married his childhood sweetheart Caroline Celico, while playing for AC Milan in 2005 and they had a son and daughter together, before splitting a decade later.

    Just recently, his ex-wife claimed that she left the marriage, because “he was too perfect for me”.

    But Kaka, now 41, speaking on a podcast, as reported by Spanish outlet Sport, insists he did everything he could to avoid the split.

    He said: “In 2015 I was married, and my wife at the time decided she didn’t want to be married anymore.

    “She said, ‘I’m not happy and I attribute my unhappiness to marriage’.

    “I was living in the United States, and she asked to go back to Brazil.

    “Her words were, ‘I want to go back to Brazil, I want to live there and I don’t want to be married anymore’.”

    Paris 2024: Super Falcons drawn in tough group as opponents emerge

    The Super Falcons of Nigeria will do battle in group C of the Paris 2024 Olympic games female football event  alongside Brazil, Spain and Japan.

    It was gathered that the draws for the tournament were  already made before Super Falcons grabbed qualification ticket on Tuesday in Pretoria, South Africa and was only slotted into group C after the game ended.

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that Super Falcons secured qualification to the Olympic games for the first time in 16 years after playing 0-0 draw in South Africa but won 1-0 on aggregate.

    Recall that Rasheedat Ajibade converted a 43rd minute penalty to secure a 1-0 win in the first leg fixture held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

    The Paris Olympic football event will kick start on the 21st of July and run through August 2024.

    Gareth Southgate the manager of Three Lions of England  has praised his team effort despite losing to  Brazil in an international friendly on Saturday night,

    Southgate said Ezri Konsa was excellent, while Anthony Gordon and Ollie Watkins did a good job against Brazil.

    A second half goal from Endrick gave Brazil the victory against the Three Lions at Wembley.

    Southgate said this while Speaking at his post-match interview after the game,

    “I thought Anthony was very good. Both sides of his game looked very accomplished.

    “Ezri, to come in at the moment he did and to deal with a player of that quality (Vinicius), I thought he was also excellent, showed real composure and he should be really happy with his debut. We were really pleased with him.”

    He added, “I thought Ollie did a good job, didn’t get that clear chance on goal that you might want as a forward but a lot of his work was very, very good.”

    Brazilian court confirms prison term for Robinho

    Former football star Robson de Souza known as Robinho must serve his nine-year prison sentence for rape in Brazil, a Brazilian high court ruled.

    The ex-AC Milan winger was sentenced by an Italian court in 2017 to nine years in jail for taking part in the 2013 gang rape of a woman in a Milan nightclub.

    Robinho, who won the Copa America in 2007 with Brazil, denied the accusations.

    Italy had sought to have Robinho’s sentence ratified in Brazil so that he would serve his term in his home nation, as Brazil does not extradite its nationals.

    Even President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva had recently spoken out in favour of the ex-footballer serving his sentence in Brazil.

    He said in an interview on Brazilian television that rape is an “unforgivable crime” and that as Robinho had already been convicted in Italy, he should serve his sentence.

    According to media reports, Robinho’s lawyers said they would appeal the high court’s verdict.

    In October 2020, Robinho wanted to make a comeback with his hometown club Santos, but because of pressure from sponsors and fans due to his conviction, the contract was quickly terminated.

    He then retired.

    BREAKING: Brazil football legend, Mario Zagallo is dead

    Former Brazil striker and manager, Mario Zagallo, has passed away at the age of 92.

    His death was confirmed on Saturday, January 6, by Brazilian soccer confederation president, Ednaldo Rodrigues.

    Zagallo played in the World Cup final a record five times, winning four, as a player and then a coach with Brazil.

    A tough and talented left winger, he played on the team that won Brazil’s first World Cup in 1958 and he kept his place in the side that retained the title four years later.

    The former forward is also the first man to become world champion both as a player and a manager.

    Speaking on his demise in a statement made available to the press, Rodrigues described Zagallo “as one of the biggest legends” of the sport.

    “We offer solidarity to his family members and fans in this moment of grief for the departure of this great hero of our soccer,” Rodrigues said.

    Zagallo stopped playing professionally in 1965 and began his coaching career with Rio de Janeiro club, Botafogo the following year.

    Nicolas Otamendi secured victory for Argentina with his 63rd-minute header.

    Argentina bounced back after suffering defeat against Uruguay last week and are now topping the South American league standing with 15 points after 6 games.

    The win at Rio’s iconic Maracana Stadium leaves Argentina on top of the South American qualifying standings with 15 points from six games.

    The result meant the Samba Boys of Brazil Have suffered three straight defeats after losing to Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina.

    Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has sent a supportive message to Brazil star Neymar.

    The Al Hilal ace’s season is over after he suffered a knee injury with Brazil last month.

    Thiago Silva posted a picture of himself with Neymar and friends with a message on social media.

    It read: “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, help you and uphold you with my strong hand. Isaiah 41:10.”

    Neymar has just undergone surgerý to correct his ACL and damaged meniscus.

    Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr is hopeful his injury isn’t serious suffered earlier today with Brazil.

    Vinicius was forced off in the first-half of Brazil’s 2-1 World Cup qualifying defeat in Colombia, with the hosts winning through a brace from Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz.

    With his left thigh bandaged, Vinicius was replaced by Brighton striker Joao Pedro and sat on the bench, but didn’t reappear after halftime.

    After the match, Vinicius said: “I think it’s the same as the last time. I took a hit there and it hurt a little later.

    “Tomorrow we will do tests to see how I go.”

    On the prospect of making the next tie against Argentina, he added: “It is difficult to get there… the doctors have told me that it is difficult. But everything will be tried.”

    United have taken action as Antony is under police investigation for domestic violence.

    The Premier League club announced today: “Manchester United recognize the allegations made against Antony.

    “Players who did not take part in international matches will return to training on Monday, however it has been agreed with Antony that he will delay his return until further notice to deal with the allegations.

    “As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We also recognize the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation and the impact these allegations have on those who have experienced abuse.”
