President Buhari makes shocking revelation about his father

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, made a shocking revelation, saying he does not know his biological father.

He made the revelation while speaking at the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign rally in Damaturu.

The president addressed the importance of education and urged the crowd at the stadium to ensure they send their children to school.

He disclosed that he was an orphan and spent nine years in a boarding school to enable him to get enlisted into the Nigerian Army.

‘‘Make sure you send your children to school and make them understand that whatever you have in this world can be taken away from you except the knowledge you have in your head,” said Buhari.

He then added: ‘‘I was an orphan; I did not know my father. I spent nine years in a boarding school and because of [my] education, I was enlisted into the Nigerian Army.”

‘‘I want you to strengthen your faith, try your best to uphold the children and family God has entrusted to you. Do not betray that trust.”

Days of portfolio contractors has ended in NDDC – Onochie

Ms Lauretta Onochie, the Chairman, Governing Board, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has pledged to improve the credibility and quality of its projects.

Onochie spoke at a ceremony to celebrate her recent appointment organised by the Buhari Support Organisations (BSO), on Tuesday in Abuja.

She declared: ”The days of portfolio contractors and splitting contracts have ended,” adding that the commission under her watch was going to get the best contractors to do the best projects for the people of Niger Delta.

Onochie, who decried that NDDC had in the past became a cash cow for the elites in the Niger Delta Region and beyond, vowed, ”it is not going to be the same anymore.

She said: ”Although it is going to be a difficult task, President Muhammadu Buhari has made my appointment into NDDC easier.

”This is because he had ordered a forensic audit, and from the result, Nigerians were angered when they saw the quantum of evidence that was presented during the audit.

” We are not going to be looking at the forensic audit as a board, but we are going to do things differently.

“I’m very lucky to be a disciple of President Muhammadu Buhari, who everybody knows that he is an incorruptible leader, as he is a man that abhors corruption.”

Onochie said that Buhari the way Buhari was running the country since 2015 had shown everyone that he means business when it comes to tackling corruption.

She said: “We are going to stand with our people, as our youth are going to benefit massively, and the NDDC staffers that have been long suffering in the region are going to have a new leaf of life.

” They are going to be retrained, rehire some of them as technical aides rather than looking elsewhere. We are just going to do things totally different.”

She said that NDDC would train the youth and equip them with the requisite skills, so that they are able to get their own businesses started, and become employers of labour.

Earlier, the Chairman, BSO Coordinators Forum, Umar Shuaibu, who described Onochie as an incorruptible person that has been tested and trusted, expressed optimism that she was going to be the game changer in the Niger Delta region.

Shuaibu, who is also Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), said: “We know that a new Sheriff is now in town, God willing, it is not going to be business as usual in the area.

He said: “Our advice to her is to always stand strong, and affirm that belief and incorruptible nature of her to make sure that the right thing is done and we have confidence that the right will be done in the NDDC.

” The Buhari Support Organisations will make sure the legacy of President Buhari’s administration is sustained.”

I look forward to peaceful polls, retirement, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says he looks forward to the peaceful conduct of this year’s general elections, and retirement since he has satisfied the constitutionally required two terms in office.

The president said this at the State House, Abuja when he hosted the Special Envoy of President Evariste Ndayishimiye of the Republic of Burundi, who came with a message, in the course of the week.

Buhari said Nigeria would support Burundi in diverse ways as necessary, saying this would be in the spirit of African solidarity and brotherliness.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning of Burundi, Mr. Audace Niyonzima, said his president sent goodwill for the New Year to Nigerians and President Buhari.

He also wished the country well in the general elections scheduled for February and March this year.

“We pray that the polls would be peaceful and successful, so that Nigeria would maintain her reputation as a bastion of peace and stability,” the Special Envoy said.

On the request for assistance in the area of energy provision, particularly fuel, by the Burundi leader, President Buhari said he knew what it felt like for a country to suffer from energy shortage.

  • FG assures civil servants of full allowances payment by Jan

FG assures civil servants of full allowances payment by Jan

The federal government has assured federal civil servants that their allowances will be paid in full by January as soon as President Muhammadu Buhari approves the payment.

Disclosing this while fielding questions from journalists on Thursday, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, said contrary to speculations that the Federal Government was proposing a salary increase for civil servants, the true position was that the federal civil servants’ allowances would be paid in full as soon as Buhari approved the payment.

He said the idea of paying the allowances to the federal civil servants was muted as part of measures to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship in the country.

The minister disclosed that the workers’ allowances had been tabulated by the ministry and sent to the President for approval.

According to him, the issue of salary increments and remunerations for the workers is not a unilateral decision as it will require a roundtable deliberation between the workers union and the Federal Government before any salary adjustment can be effected.

Ngige commended the Buhari-led administration for the Second Niger Bridge, Enugu-Okigwe-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway as well as the renovation and upgrading of the Enugu Airport.

He listed the projects as some of the developmental projects recorded by the present administration in the South-East, adding that the region benefitted more in terms of critical infrastructures.

He described Buhari as a kind-hearted person who is always concerned about the welfare of Nigerians, which was why “he directed all the ministers to go to their respective hometowns during the Yuletide and distribute both cash and food items to the masses as part of measures to rehabilitate the less privileged in the society.”

He said, ‘The idea of paying the allowances to the federal civil servants was muted as part of measures to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship in the country.

“Contrary to speculations that the Federal Government is proposing a salary increase for civil servants, the true position is that the federal civil servants’ allowances would be paid in full as soon as Buhari approves the payment.

“Buhari is humane and kind-hearted but those who don’t know him or who are not close to him will think that he is wicked. Having worked closely under him, I can attest to the fact that he is a responsible and trustworthy man.

“This current administration is working very hard to finish strong and needed the support of all Nigerians at this dying minute.”

  • Omo-Agege meets Buhari, says Delta very ripe for taking

Omo-Agege meets Buhari, says Delta very ripe for taking

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Thursday, dismissed the notion of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) firm grip on the state.

He told journalists after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja that “Delta is very ripe for the taking” adding that it was a misconception to tag Delta, a PDP state.

“That is a very serious misconception to tag Delta State, a PDP state. Delta is very ripe for the taking.

”We’re determined to achieve this; we’ve been going round each local government, ward by ward, making the case; drawing the attention of the people of the state to the mis-governance and lack of performance on the part of not just Okowa but the PDP led administration in the past 14 years.

“The message to people is resonating; we’ve been able to make the case to them that Delta State is supposedly a very, very rich state.

“And indeed a very rich state given the contributions that we (APC government) have made, not only to the economy of this country, but also to the economy of the state.

”This is because of the receipts we have gotten from federal allocation, inclusive of a 13 per cent derivation and other resources that come to the state by way of Internally Generated Revenue,’’ he said.

The governorship candidate said that the APC’s reckoning since the Okowa administration came into office, Delta State had received close to about N4.2 trillion.

“And this came, like I said, by way of federal allocation. It came by way of 13 per cent derivation, and also about N400 billion that the state has borrowed.’’

He, however, alleged that the incumbent governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, had nothing to show for the N4.2 trillion earned by the state in the last seven and half years.

The Deputy Senate President said that he was in the Villa to confer with the President on national issues.

According to Omo-Agege, Okowa’s administration has yet to settle gratuities and pensions of workers for up to nine years and has yet to commence payment of the N30,000 minimum wage despite the financial status of the state.

He alleged that in spite of being a medical doctor, the health sector in Delta took a nosedive under the Okowa’s administration.

Omo-Agege also accused the Delta governor of betraying his counterparts in the South by accepting to be a running mate to the PDP Presidential candidate in spite of agreement that the presidency should shift to the South, after the eight-year tenure of President Buhari, a northerner.

He said: “It is the position of Deltans and most especially, indeed the entire southern Nigeria, that given the fact that we have supported Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari, for the past eight years, it’s only fair, just and equitable that the next President should come from southern Nigeria.

”And it may also interest you that Okowa as the Chairman of the Governors Forum in South-South was one of those who led this charge, and met in Asaba, where the case was made.

”So to the chagrin and disappointment of many at home, Okowa betrayed that cause by selling away our right to the presidency, and instead going for office of a Vice President at a time when the entire country is offering us the presidency.

”So our people are not taking this treachery kindly and determined that they will punish Okowa.”

The Deputy Senate President, who insisted that his chance of winning the governorship election was bright, assured that he would address the challenges of unemployment, insecurity and infrastructure decay in the state on assumption of office.

He also said he would make the business environment attractive to investors to return to the state in order to create employment for the people.

“The attention of Ime Obi Onicha(The Palace) has been drawn to a State House Press Release of January 2, 2023 by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), titled MORALLY SQUALID OBASANJO ATTACKS LEADERS OUT OF
    FRUSTRATION.

“His Majesty, Nnaemeka Achebe, CFR, mni, Obi of Onitsha, by his position as
traditional and natural ruler, should normally not engage publicly in high level
discourse on affairs of State between two of our highly respected national leaders,President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR. However, the Palace deems it absolutely necessary to ensure that public statements relating to our monarch are factually correct.

    “Accordingly, the Palace
would like to state categorically that His Majesty was never involved in any sod
turning ceremony for the second River Niger Bridge during the first tenure of
President Obasanjo as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and, therefore, could not have engaged in any altercation with the then President as stated in the above press release.

“The only involvement of His Majesty with President Obasanjo regarding the Second River Niger Bridge was at the very tail end of his second term as President during a low-keyed flag-off of the project when His Majesty prayed that the succeeding administration would construct the bridge expeditiously.

“It’s solely a statement of facts and nothing more or less.

  • Four reasons why Obasanjo won’t stop attacking Buhari – Presidency

Four reasons why Obasanjo won’t stop attacking Buhari – Presidency

The Presidency says former President Olusegun Obasanjo will not stop attacking President Muhammadu Buhari because he is jealous of Buhari’s achievements.

Malam Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman gave four reasons for the unjustifiable attacks on Buhari by Obasanjo, saying ”the ex-president won’t stop being jealous of anyone who beats him to a new record in the nation’s development process.”

According to the presidential aide, Buhari is ahead of the former president in all fields of national development.

‘Shehu said: ‘To do that is a cardinal sin to Obasanjo whose hallucinations tell him that he is the best ever to lead Nigeria and there will never be another one better than him.”

He said that Buhari’s administration had successfully completed the world-class edifice, the second Niger Bridge after three decades of failed promises, saying the project would soon be inaugurated by the president.

”’Obasanjo laid the foundation for the bridge in his first term as elected President and work never started.

”When he sought re-election for his second term in office, he returned to the site to turn the sod for the bridge the second time.

”When the Obi of Onitsha, a forthright ago  scholarly, reminded him that he had done this in the past, Obasanjo told the foremost Southeast traditional ruler that he was a liar in the full presence of the Chiefs and Oracles in his Palace.

”Obasanjo lied to the Southeast to get their votes.

”President Buhari didn’t get their votes but built the bridge because he believed it is the right thing to do,” Shehu stated.

The presidential aide also maintained that the former president was not comfortable with Buhari’s bagging awards and encomiums for strictly promoting democratic culture and the rule of law in Nigeria and beyond.

He said: ”Two, President Buhari had been bagging awards and encomiums for trying to do that which the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria says a leader should do: Serve one, or a maximum of two terms and go.

”President Buhari has been stating and restating that he will supervise a better election than the one that brought him to office and to leave as and when due.

“Having tried tenure elongation and failed, Obasanjo’s fictitious mind must be telling him that he is the one under attack.

”But, he is not on President Buhari’s radar because experience has shown, especially lately in West Africa where there have been at least three successful coups and many other failed attempts, that third term or tenure elongation is a recipe for political instability.”

Shehu further reminded the former president that the totality of African leaders appointed Buhari the Anti-Corruption Champion of the continent.

He said: ”You can’t be an anti-corruption champion if “you meddled and bent the rules,” carrying the putrid responsibility of what happened to national assets in the name of privatisation as documented by the Nigerian Senate in 2011.

”As an insight, the Aluminum Smelter Company of Nigeria, ALSCON, which was set up with $3.2 billion, was sold to a Russian firm, Russal, for a paltry $130million. Delta Steel, which was set up in 2005, at a cost of $1.5billion, was sold to Global Infrastructure for just $30million.

”ALSCON got back $120million for the dredging of the Imo River, which was never carried out.”

According to Shehu, the third reason for the Obasanjo attacks on Buhari is the growing profile of the president as the Champion of Democracy not only at home and in the West African subregion but the African continent as whole.

He said: ”As President, Obasanjo destabilised internal democracy by orchestrating impeachment after impeachment of Governors who were not compliant with his highly imperial administration.

”As we said sometime back, Mr Obasanjo’s tenure, 1999-2007, represented the dark days of Nigeria’s democracy due to a slew of assaults on the constitution.

”The former president deployed federal machinery to remove Governors Joshua Dariye, Rashidi Ladoja, Peter Obi, Chris Ngige and Ayo Fayose from office.

“They were the then governors of Plateau, Oyo, Anambra, Anambra and Ekiti, respectively, unjustly removed using the police and secret service under his control.

    ”Under him, a five-man legislature met at 6:00 am and “impeached” Gov. Dariye in Plateau; 18 members out of 32 removed Gov. Ladoja of Oyo from office;

‘Shehu also recalled that in Anambra, APGA’s Gov. Obi was equally impeached at 5:00 a.m. by members who did not meet the two-thirds required by the constitution.

He said lawmaking powers of the Rivers legislature were transferred to the federal parliament to punish Gov. Amaechi for shifting his political alliance.

Shehu said the former president ”damned the Supreme Court and unlawfully held back Lagos State revenues due from federal sources on account of his pettiness against Gov. Bola Tinubu.

He added: ”On the other hand, in Washington a few weeks ago, the US President, Joe Biden, at a meeting with African Heads of States and Government, described Buhari as a champion of democracy and role model for the leaders of African states.

”Clearly, Obasanjo has become even more jealous by adopting a vengeful attitude.

”Four, to say that “frying pan to fire” is the situation in Nigeria at this time should be read to mean a personal experience to him and we know what that means.

“Hell” for Obasanjo is when a President, any President that comes after him refuses to be his own puppet, to do as he wishes on all matters and at all times.
He then keeps attacking out of frustration.

”Obasanjo’s vengeful attitude towards President Buhari is the height of selfishness and little short of moral squalor.”
