    Mixed reactions have continued to trail the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia on a two-year deal.

    The Portuguese signed a sensational £175million contract following his tumultuous exit from Manchester United in November.

    Ronaldo, 37, had been a free agent after leaving United in the wake of his damning and controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

    The five time Balon d ‘or winner had made some uncomplimentary remarks about the club’s management and its coach Erik Ten Hag.

    However, Some football fans have lent their voices on social media concerning the Portuguese’s decision to head to the Saudi Arabian League.

    Portugal vs Uruguay: Portuguese FA appeals to FIFA to credit Ronaldo with Bruno’s goal

    The Portuguese Football  Federation has appealed to Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) to award Portugal’s first goal against Uruguay to Cristiano Ronaldo.

    Bruno Fernandes sent in a cross that splashed through Ronaldo’s head and he thought he had scored but the goal was credited to Bruno during the match with Uruguay.

    FIFA, however, thought otherwise and gave the goal to Fernandes with football’s world governing body writing:

    “In the match between Portugal and Uruguay, using the Connected Ball Technology housed in adidas’s Al Rihla Official Match Ball, we are able to definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game.

    Ronaldo scored Portugal’s first goal at the Mundial last week in their group H encounter with Ghana.

    However, Fernandez has said he wasn’t bothered with who’s credited with the goal, saying the three points was what matters to him.

    The last African representative, Ghana gave a good account of themselves but lost to an upstanding Portuguese side by 3-2.

     Cristiano Ronaldo had the ball in the net and spurned two early chances in a goalless first half as Portugal dominated Ghana but were unable to make a breakthrough in their World Cup Group H match at the Stadium 974 on Thursday.

    The 37-year-old Portugal captain might have had two goals inside the opening 15 minutes but missed both opportunities.

    He found the net from close range in the 31st minute but only after the referee had blown his whistle for an infringement against him.

    C.Ronaldo later on in the match scored from the Penalty spot to give Portugal the lead against Ghana. He becomes the first player to score in five different World Cups.

    kudus set up Andre Ayew  who scored in the 73rd minute to equalize for Ghana to become the first African to score a goal at Qatar 2022.

    Portugal again scored to restore the lead in the 78th minute with a stunning counter-attack that led to Joa Felix scoring the second for the Selecao.

    In the 81st minute, Rafael Leao scores within three minutes after his introduction to make it three for the Europeans.

    Although too late, Ghana’s Osman Bukari scores the second  goal for the West Africans to reduce the tally but Ghana goes back to their hotel in Qatar with no point.

    The result meant no African team has secured a point in their opening group  matches at the mundial.

    Embattled Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has set another record in football history.

    The forward scored against Ghana to give Portugal the lead against Ghana in a group H encounter thereby becoming the first player ever to score at least a  goal in five  different World Cup appearances.

    He made history in the 65th minute of Portugal’s Group H game against Ghana on Thursday night.

    Ronaldo found the net from the penalty spot after being fouled  by Mohammed Salisu of Ghana.

    The 37-year-old had found the net earlier in the game but his 30th-minute strike was disallowed by MLS referee Ismail Elfath for a foul on Alexander Djiku.

    Unfortunately, Ronaldo is clubless at the moment as his clubside, Manchester United recently terminated his contract over the club perceived as uncomplimentary comments about it during an interview with ace journalist Piers Morgan.

    Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly, has said that the club is not interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo after his contract was terminated at Manchester United few days ago.

    The Blues were heavily linked with the 37-year-old back in the summer when he initially wanted to leave Manchester United.

    Ronaldo is now free like a bird to join any club interested in signing him from the January transfer window.

    According to Ronaldo, the World Cup is his priority at the moment where he’s representing and focusing on how to win games for Portugal.

    Boehly has the finances to fund a move for Ronaldo, however the UK Sun reports that he will not.

    A source said: “Chelsea have gone cold on him, but if Todd Boehly decided to change his mind he would take some stopping.”

    Boehly regarded Ronaldo as a marquee signing in his first transfer window, but the-then manager Thomas Tuchel was not keen on Ronaldo.

    Although Graham Potter has since replaced Tuchel, there have been no signs of the Blues reigniting their interest.

    Sources in the football world have linked Ronaldo to a number of clubsides including, Newcastle, Napoli, Real Madrid and many others.

    Ronaldo will speak on his destination after the World Cup  currently holding in Qatar.

    Argentina’s  captain, Lionel Messi, today  equalled the record of his closest rival in world football.

    Messi scored Argentina’s only goal from the penalty spot against Saudi Arabia to equal C. Ronaldo’s  FIFA World Cup records.

    The 35-year-old converted an early penalty in Argentina’s World Cup Group C opener against Saudi Arabia after Saud Abdulhamid had fouled midfielder, Leandro Paredes, in the box.

    Real Madrid have revealed it will not re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in January.

    Ronaldo seems to have run into trouble after granting an interview with Piers Morgan making some uncomplimentary statements about Manchester United.

    Meanwhile, Manchester United are now exploring the possibility of terminating Ronaldo’s deal but the 37-year-old said in the interview that he does not really care, insisting that the fans should know the truth.

    Now his former club, Real Madrid have turned down the opportunity to re-sign him in the summer transfer window when they were approached by the forward’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

    Marca reports that the La Liga giants have adopted the same stance ahead of the January window as they have no interest in signing Ronaldo for a second time.

    Ronaldo was reported to be heading back to Real Madrid to provide cover for Karim Benzema, who was injured with France in training in Qatar.

    Similarly, Italian side AS Roma under the tutelage of Ronaldo’s country man Jose Mourinho has also said they are not interested in bringing the Portuguese to Rome. in January.

    A clip has surfaced online of Ronaldo’s teammate at club level Bruno Fernamdes’ reaction when they both met in Portugal’s team camp.

    Ronaldo and Fernandez had a very cold reunion upon meeting at the team’s camp in Lisbon on Monday evening.

    Both players share the dressing room for both club and country and the Portuguese are currently preparing for their warm-up match with Nigeria before their opening Group H game against Ghana in the 2022 World Cup.

    Ronaldo’s interview with ace journalist, Piers Morgan generated a lot of reactions and it reportedly went down like a lead balloon with his teammates.

    Fernandes was reunited with Ronaldo for the first time in Portugal camp with the 37-year-old having already joined his national team and took part in a training session on Monday.

    Fernandez suddenly bumped into Ronaldo and was going to ignore him but decided to shake hands with him on second thought abeit belated and mumbled some words before leaving the scene.

    Fernandes’ comment left Ronaldo looking stony-faced, in the viral video before the pair exchanged words and Fernandes walked away to greet other team-mates – doing so in a far more cheery manner.

    The Portuguese national team will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria on the 17th of this month before traveling to Qatar for the Mundial a day after.

    Portugal and Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo lambasted coach Erik ten Hag, saying he doesn’t have any form of respect for him.

    Ten Hag left Ajax Amsterdam to take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick, at the begining of the season but hasn’t had a rosy reign at the club.

    Ronaldo, who was said to have asked to be allowed to leave the club over the summer, was prevented from going by the club and Ten Hag made it clear that the 37-year-old was part of his plan for the season.

    The former Ballon D’or winner has had turbulent moment under Eric Ten Hag after being barred from the team for storming out of Old Trafford few minutes before the end of the match against Tottenham Hotspurs.

    Ronaldo stormed out in protest for being an unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspurs.

    Ten Hag had explained that Ronaldo was ill and could not play in the 4-2 win over Aston Villa and weekend’s 2-1 win over Fulham.

    But it seems the Portugal captain may have burnt his bridges at Manchester United once and for all.

    The former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar gave an explosive interview in which he hit out at the club, claiming he would ‘never respect’ Ten Hag.

    Asked about Ten Hag, Ronaldo told Piers Morgan Uncensored on Sunday night: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me.

    “If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

    Asked if he felt Ten Hag had tried to force him out, he replied: “Yes, not only the coach but another two or three guys that are around the club [at senior executive level]. I felt betrayed.”

    Probed on whether he feels they are actively trying to get rid of him, he continued: “Honestly, I shouldn’t say that, I don’t know, but I don’t care, always people should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.

    “And I felt that some people don’t want me here. Not only this year but last year too.”

    However, Ronaldo revealed that  his three-month-old daughter was hospitalized in July, explaining why he missed the tour of Asia in July before the season started.

    Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed happiness for his side’s Europa League 3-2 win over Omonia on Thursday night.

    Omonia secured the first-half win over Manchester United after Karim Ansarifaard scored for the home team on the 34th minute.

    Marcus Rashford scored two goals and Anthony Martial added another to complete the comeback over Omonia in the second half.

    Nikolas Panayiotou scored Omonia’s second goal  but it wasn’t enough as United ran away with a 3-2 win in the encounter.

    In a post via his Instagram account after the game, Ronaldo expressed happiness following Man United’s win in the encounter.

    The Portugal captain hailed his teammates and thanked Man United fans for their support away from home.

    “Well done lads. Thank you for your support #unitedfans,” Ronaldo wrote.

    Ronaldo will now hope to feature for Man United in their next game against Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
