What women should have when married to celebrities – Lady Duke

Wife of a celebrity, Mrs Capriz Duke, has advised women married to celebrities to be patient, understanding and pray that women who come too close do not snatch their husbands.

Duke, wife of the president, Creative Industry Group (DIG), and musician, Felix Duke, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

According to her, “it is really not an easy task to be married to an entertainer who is a public figure, especially to women who want to be identified with success.”

She advised women married to celebrities to be understanding because mixing up with people would surely contribute to their success in the industry.

“You just have to be patient and understanding, knowing that this is a world of entertainment.

“If you are a wife of a celebrity or a public personality, you have to be ready to overlook many things, if not, you will develop high blood pressure.

“You have to be in the world of entertainment too and even if you are not, see yourself as one, you have to learn to play along,” she said.

Lady Duke said from inception, you should know that getting married to an entertainer involves sharing him with various kinds of women.

She said that the most important thing is to pray that desperate women do not succeed because they are ready to take over completely.

“Some of us started suffering with these guys when they were no body and these women overlooked them because they had nothing to offer.

“But as soon as they become somebody, they are ready to go to any mile to snatch your property, some desperate women only want to be identified with success,” she said.

According to her, it is only hot when the couples are younger but once they start getting older, maturity sets in and the men would begin to appreciate their wives better.

She recalled that at the early stage of her marriage, when her man was still singing, desperate messages and calls were great distractions but she remained calm.

“Those days, I would be home and some women will call or text but the best thing was to avoid monitoring or checking his phones.

“With time, you will understand what it is to be married to a celebrity because as a younger person, it is a different mindset but as you get older, you get matured,” she said.

She then advised wives of celebrities to learn to remain calm, attractive, friendly and non possessive because their husbands are public figures but importantly, pray for them.

Nigerian female celebrities are not prostitutes- Filmmaker, Bigsam

Nigerian movie producer, Samuel Olatunji, popularly known as Bigsam has averred that successful women in the entertainment industry don’t earn their money through questionable means.

The popular ex-journalist and PR expert took to his Instagram page on Thursday to condemn Nollywood Actress, Nnaji Charity, who in her Instagram stories wrote that “been a female celebrity in Nigeria is more like an advanced prostitution.”(sic)

“What you are implying is that all these successful female celebrity, both in entertainment and outside entertainment are prostitutes, got to where they are, or are maintaining what they are by prostitution? Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Mentioning celebrities such as Linda Ikeji, Toyin Abraham, Funke Akindele-Bello, and Ini Edo, the talented producer attested to profitable means by which several female celebrities he has worked with, make their money.

He said, “There was a time someone called me to say Linda Ikeji must be doing fraud or advanced prostitution to make the kind of money she has, that year Linda was charging 50k per post (now it is 150k). I asked the person to open the blog and we did counting of sponsored post for that day as at 6pm, Linda has done about 20 sponsored posts. That year, Linda was raking in about 2 million daily. Before COVID and after, Toyin Abraham was making over 5 million monthly.

“About 10 years ago, we struck a major deal for Ini Edo, my first cut in the money was over 1.5m. Till date, Ini is making legitimate money quietly and in quick succession to have warranted talk that she’s the richest actress in Nigeria. About two or three years ago Funke Akindele Bello made over 1 million USD from just one of her projects.”(sic)

It is disgusting for celebrities to borrow in to impress on social media- Amarachi Igwe

US based actress, Amarachi Igwe has maintained that she is not ready to undergo plastic surgery to enhance any part of her body. According to her, going under the knife would mean she doesn’t appreciate how God created her.

In a chat with TheNewsGuru, she said:” For me, I would never do plastic surgery to enhance any part of my body because I love the way God made me and I appreciate my body .I am grateful , content and perfect just the way I am. I always think if I ever want to consider plastic surgery, it means I don’t appreciate the way God created me”.

Igwe noted that despite being Igbo, she joined the Yoruba arm of Nollywood because she wanted to explore more.

“I started acting when I joined the English speaking arm of Nollywood.I started with them before I switched to the Yoruba arm of Nollywood. My reason for switching to the Yoruba arm isn’t because I wasn’t finding it easy working with the English speaking arm of the industry. At the end of the day, we are one family. I just wanted to explore more, I wanted to see something different. It was easy for me because I speak Yoruba fluently”.

Recounting some of the challenges she encountered, the light skinned actress said: “When I started out, sometimes, I would be asked to go to a movie location. At the end of the day, I may not appear in the movie that would be after paying for my own accommodation. Another challenge I faced was that if you refuse the advances of a movie marketer or director, they start calling themselves and decide not to feature you in movies. This made me start producing my own movies”.

The actress who showers praises on her boyfriend on social media noted that she found true love.

“Let’s just say I found true love and happiness to cut the long story short”.

Living a fake life at the end of the day is expensive. Borrowing to keep up with your fake life is a sign of low self-esteem.If you believe in yourself, you won’t go that far to fake it just to impress the society, people that don’t care about you. This is my opinion”.

DJ Switch also called out her fellow celebrities for not speaking up against this decision by the state government to auction the cars of the traffic offenders.

”I just read on the news that the Lagos State Environmental Unit or whatever, through their inept and corrupt mobile court gave the order for people’s cars to be auctioned off, to be sold off.

“What happened to fines? Why can’t you fine these people? Give them something to pay or better still a minimum jail term. A weekend in jail or community service.

“All of a sudden you want to sell off the vehicles. You are a thief. Lagos state government is a thief.

“You are short of just carrying guns. It is guns that is remaining for you. You are a thief. ‘

“The government didn’t even come up with creative ways to distract us and we are distracted. We have still not seen anyone dragged to jail over Lekki massacre.

“SARS is still running up and down the streets of this country, and nobody is doing anything about it. I can go on with a list of so many things going wrong.”
