Cesc Fabregas a former Chelsea midfielder,  has stated reasons he went to Stamford Bridge last week.

Fabregas, currently managing Como, also spoke about being the new manager of the club following the departure of Mauricio Pochetinno.

Speaking on BBC Sounds’ Planet Premier League podcast, Fabregas said on Wednesday, “It’s difficult sometimes to acknowledge or have an opinion when you are not there to see what happened.

“Look, I was there actually. Funnily enough, I went to London on the weekend.

“First of all, I had a good relationship with Mauricio. When we played against them I always felt that he was a really nice guy, a gentleman.

“So I felt they won four games in a row, that was Friday [that he visited], two days before the end of the season, so everything was fun and good and relaxed around the training ground, last game of the season.”

How I made Kanu unhappy playing for Arsenal – Fabregas

Former Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas, has revealed he made former Super Eagles striker, Nwankwo Kanu angry during their time at the London club.

According to Fabregas, the incident happened when he joined the Gunners as a teenager in 2003 from Barcelona and was trying to impress the manager and his teammates in his first training at the club.

He was highly rated by manager Arsene Wenger, but largely unknown to the more established Arsenal stars which prompted an overzealous action from him.

“My first training when I joined Arsenal, I was all in my head trying to impress and I made a tackle on Kanu and he was so upset with me,” he told Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, during an Instagram live video monitored by our correspondent.

“When you’re young, sometimes you don’t think; you just want to go there and prove yourself without realising that you’re playing alongside World Cup winners. At that moment you just want to do your best and most times, the passion gets the best out of you,” he added.

However, both players featured for Arsenal for one season before Kanu left for Portsmouth.

Fabregas went on to become the club captain and a legend at the North London side, scoring 57 goals and providing 92 assists in 304 appearances.

Why i left Arsenal for Barca – Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas says he left Arsenal for Barcelona in 2011 for a number of reasons, including his relationship with some former team-mates, pressure on winning trophies and the club’s lack of recruitment.

Fabregas joined Arsenal from Barca as a 15-year-old in 2003 and went on to make 303 appearances across all competitions before returning to the Nou Camp, where he then joined Chelsea, and now plays for Monaco in Ligue 1.

In a wide-ranging interview with Arseblog, the 32-year-old spoke openly about his decision to leave the Gunners nine years ago, citing a number of different reasons, admitting that he felt Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri were the only players “on his level” and that he had many “sleepless nights”.

“I used to suffer, I used to spend sleepless nights suffering. And then you lose a game, you’re in the bus like this, destroyed, and then you hear some players laughing, thinking about where they will be going out later.

“This was going on for a few years. We were playing beautiful football and I enjoyed that side of things but I was putting pressure on myself to lead, to do everything and at one point I felt kind of lonely.

“Especially in the last two or three years, I felt Robin and Samir were the only players – it’s not an arrogant thing to say, it’s how I felt at that time – were the players who were at my level mentally and technically.

“Many things came in my head, I have to admit I was a bit empty, I was drained mentally, physically, in my soul knowing I’m giving everything, knowing a few signings the club could have made but didn’t happen.

“Seeing some behaviours from certain players or something like this made me feel I wanted to check something else. If it was not because of that, I would not have left Arsenal at that time.”

Former Chelsea midfielder banned from driving

Ex-Chelsea and Arsenal footballer Cesc Fabregas has been banned from driving for six months for speeding at 68mph (109km/h) in a 40mph (64km/h) zone.

The Spain international, 32, was caught by a police speed detection device in south-west London on 4 December.
But Fabregas, who now plays for French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco, later told officers “I wasn’t going that fast”, Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court heard.
The World Cup winner pleaded guilty to speeding and was also fined £750.
Fabregas, who already had six points on his licence, was banned after the offence added a further six points to it.
The midfielder moved to Monaco from Chelsea in January after winning two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a League Cup in 501 appearances in English football with the Blues and Arsenal – with a spell at Barcelona in between.
Prosecutor Luke Bowyer told the court that on 4 December last year Fabregas was clocked speeding in a grey Land Rover on a section of the A3 near Wandsworth, south-west London.
Representing Fabregas, Natalie Bird said he “would like to offer his sincere apology and remorse” for the offence, which was the result of a “momentary lapse of concentration”.
Sentencing, district judge Andrew Sweet said he took into account Fabregas’ guilty plea but said the section of the road could get “extremely busy”.
Fabregas, who did not attend Thursday’s hearing because of “work commitments in Monaco”, was also ordered to pay £135 in costs and a £75 victim surcharge.

  • Fabregas scores in Monaco’s first win in seven league games

Cesc Fabregas netted his first goal with Monaco to give the struggling principality side their first Ligue 1 win in seven games as they beat visiting Toulouse 2-1 on Saturday.

The Spanish midfielder, who joined from Chelsea last month, fired home in the second half.

The goal helped Monaco move from 19th to 18th in the standings and claim their first victory at home in the league.

They have 18 points from 23 games and are level on points with 17th-placed Caen who have a game in hand.

In coach Leonardo Jardim’s second game since he returned to the bench after Thierry Henry was sacked last week, Monaco showed some steel.

They opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Aleksandr Golovin latched on to a Gelson Martins cross, only for Christopher Jullien to level five minutes later from close range.

Fabregas, however, restored the advantage with a right-footed strike from the spot that went under the bar in the 62nd minute.

In Jardim’s first game in charge earlier this week, Monaco were knocked out of the League Cup semi-finals by Guingamp on penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw.

  • Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas reacts to Henry’s sack

Monaco midfielder, has finally reacted to the club sacking manager, Thierry Henry.

Henry has said goodbye to Monaco fans, after being sacked and replaced by Leonardo Jardim few days ago.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona player replaced Jardim in October, but now the Ligue 1 club has done a U-turn, after he won four of his 20 matches in charge leaving them 19th in the table, three points from safety.

Henry, who took over from Leonardo Jardim on October 13, has not won at home in Ligue 1, with his team sitting in the relegation zone in 19th place.

But reacting, Fabregas said Henry could have succeeded at Monaco had he been given more time at the club.

Asked about Henry’s sacking ahead of Monaco’s clash with Guingamp, Fabregas was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “Football doesn’t wait for anyone.

“Unfortunately, maybe he didn’t have the right time to make all his plans. Now we are in a new situation.”

Transfer news: Cesc Fabregas joins Ligue 1 side Monaco

Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas has joined Ligue 1 side Monaco from English Premier League side Chelsea, the two clubs said on Friday.

“Cesc Fabregas has today completed a permanent transfer to Monaco,” Chelsea said on their website, just as Ligue 1 Monaco tweeted a video of Fabregas with a voice-over saying “now it’s time”.

The midfielder’s switch to the Ligue 1 club brings the curtain down on his four-and-a-half- year Chelsea career, a period in which he won four major trophies.

These are two English Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup, during a period when the Spaniard made 198 appearances for Chelsea and scored 22 goals.

“We thank Cesc for his wonderful service and wish him the very best of luck for the next chapter in what has been a fantastic career,’’ Chelsea FC wrote.

Fabregas arrived at Stamford Bridge as a 2012 European Championship and 2010 World Cup winner with Spain.

The midfielder departs England with the second-highest number of assists in Premier League history, 111, after recently making his 350th appearance in the competition during the game against Southampton.

He was also the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League assists, achieving the feat in just 293 matches.

Fabregas signed in the summer of 2014 as Jose Mourinho sought to add a creative presence in midfield.

This was after the departure of club legend Frank Lampard at the end of the previous season.

Fabregas is now joining up with Thierry Henry, a former teammate and current manager of the municipality club, who was the Spaniard’s captain at Arsenal.

He had joined Chelsea from Arsenal, having moved to England from La Masia, FC Barcelona’s youth academy, at age 16 in September 2003.

  • Cesc Fabregas reveal plans to remain at Stamford Bridge

Cesc Fabregas is keen to stay at Chelsea but admitted talks over extending his time at Stamford Bridge are yet to have begun.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of this season, and the former Arsenal and Barcelona man is yet to play in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri. Chelsea have a policy of only handing out one-year extensions to players aged 30 or older and the 31-year-old faces a nervous wait to see if Sarri wants to keep him around at the club.
With AC Milan among the sides linked with his signature, Fabregas’ future may well lie elsewhere – but he’s keen to stick around in west London. ‘I’m very open about it,’ Fabregas said. ‘To be the honest the club has not said anything.
‘At the end of the day I have eight months left and at the moment I’m gone. But I’d love to stay at the club.
‘I’ve been very happy for the last four years and a half. We’ve had great success, won many things.
‘I think I have a good understanding with the fans and players. I feel I still have a lot of football left in me but it is now up to the club.’ While he’s keen to stay at Chelsea for the time being, Fabregas has his eye on a move away from European football to finish off his career.
‘Probably in a few years I’d like to go away from Europe and experience something different at the later stage of my career,’ he added.
