Celebrity biker and entertainer, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, has lent his voice on the adjournment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) on Monday over the absence of the witness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It was gathered that PEPC headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani adjourned the hearing of INEC’s defence against the petition filed by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, till Tuesday, after the electoral umpire’s witness who was scheduled to testify was absent from the court.
The Celebrity biker took to his Twitter handle, to lambast the National Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who presided over the presidential election, for putting Nigerians through “pain.”
He Tweet reads: “Will INEC ever produce a true copy of the election result? Ur guess is as good as mine.
“So INEC witnesses are also suffering from technical glitches dem no even show for court today?
If it didn’t dey e didn’t dey.
I doubt if INEC is even ready to defend der own matter.
“May God deal with Yakubu for the pain he’s putting many of us through.”
Celebrity biker and singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has reacted to calls for his arrest over his recent comment.
Recall that the singer had, in a tweet on Saturday, charged Nigerian youths to emulate French protesters destroying public properties over the shooting of a 17-year-old youth by police near Paris on Tuesday.
The celebrity biker shared a video of rioters burning down some buildings in France, Charly Boy said it was what he expected Nigerian youths to do to “reject the system that let them down.”
His tweet didn’t sit down well with some Nigerians, who took to the comment section to call for his arrest for attempting to incite civil unrest.
But reacting via his Twitter handle on Sunday, Charly Boy mocked those calling for his arrest.
He wrote, “Na only me just dey Laff as guys just dey Kpara on top my Post, pple come dey even call for my arrest, see monkeys.
“DSS can’t arrest criminals but can arrest people who speak against criminals. You’re a useless Nigerian.
“Because I charged the Youths of Nigeria to take their destiny in their hands and bring down a criminal Enterprise, some Mumu persons come dey form gangster on top my post [sic].
Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, fondly called Charly Boy has been criticized over his position on the ongoing protests in France.
Reacting to Charly Boy’s post on social media on the mass protests in France, the Media Director of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, accused the singer of inciting Nigerian youths.
On Saturday, the musician took to social media, urging Nigerian youths to take a cue from the France riots and “fight the system letting them down”.
But reacting via his Twitter page, Onanuga described the musician’s post as “highly irresponsible”.
Onanuga, therefore, urged the security operatives in the country to “call him to order immediately”.
“Highly irresponsible for a 73-year-old man Charly Boy asking ‘exceptional Nigerian youths’ to burn down the ‘criminal enterprise’, which he called Nigeria. The security agencies should call this old man to order immediately,” he wrote.
Shedding more light on his earlier post, Charly said he did not incite the youths as assumed. “I no ask anybody to go burn anywhere. As it concerns France, I feel is their Kama hunting them. I only charged the exceptional Nigerian youths to take their destiny in their hands. If the judiciary fails to dispense justice, the last hope of the common man should be the common man,” he wrote.
The killing of Naël, a 17-year-old boy by a police officer during a traffic stop in Nanterre, a French town, on June 27, sparked the protests in France.
Popular musician and activist, Charly Boy has slammed the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, over his recent controversial religious comment.
El-Rufai had, in a trending video, said he and some northern governors used religion as a political tool to give victory to Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
The statement had generated uproar across the country as concerned Nigerians cautioned the former governor against setting the country ablaze, saying he is a religious bigot.
Similarly, Charly Boy took to his official Twitter handle on Thursday to lambast the former governor, describing him as an expired drug.
The tweet reads, “This small micro chip of a man called El-Rufai. No need to go on pretending that you desire the progress of ur country Nigeria that you have so stolen from.
“It is silly to go on pretending that you’re even a true Muslim. You’re an expired drug bad for the unity of this country”.
Popular biker and veteran singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has praised Nigeria youths for conducting themselves peacefully in the ongoing protest over the presidential elections announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
TheNewsGuru.com reported series of protest that took place days after INEC declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the February 25th presidential election.
Recall that the other two major contenders in the election; Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party rejected the results.
Consequently, their supporters took to the streets to kick against the May 29 inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
However, Charlyboy has expressed regret for not being visible in the organized protest citing ill -health as major reason for his abscence.
The self-proclaimed Area Fada, however, promised to lead the “mother of all rallies” next week, revealing that he is recovering speedily.
In a tweet on Monday, Charly Boy wrote, “Courageous Youths, I appreciate you all for the peaceful way you’ve conducted yourselves in the Abuja ongoing rally so far.
But for my medical challenge I would have been with you all.”
He added, “However, am recovering quickly and hopefully by next week I should be joining you all for the mother of all rallies.
“They will never mess with our mandate.
Der fathers.”.
Nigerian Entertainer, Mr Charles Oputa, popularly known as ‘Charley Boy’ has called on Nigerian youths to be calm and not to overreact to the 2023 election results declared by INEC.
Oputa made the call in an interview with NAN on Wednesday at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
The entertainer, who spoke in reaction to the gathering of some youths at the Unity Fountain, said the gathering was to protest the alleged bogus election result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Young people are gathering to protest the situation and bogus election that have just been concluded.
“As Area Father, I am just here to make sure that it is peaceful and that they are doing the right thing.
“I believe in what they are doing and I am here to show support.
“The election result is the most bogus, most annoying and a financial disaster looking at the money wasted on the exercise by the Federal Government,” he said.
According to him, we cannot afford to be seen as overreacting because I know how the enemies will use that against us, so we need to use our heads.
Oputa expressed satisfaction with the conduct of Nigerian youths in the electoral process.
Mr Isaac Balami, the convener of the peaceful walk said the gathering was to protest the 2023 presidential election results released by INEC.
He said INEC had broken the code and peace accord reached by political parties by failing to deliver on its promises.
Balami attributed the huge turnout of voters across the country to promises made by INEC that the election would be transparent and that their votes would count.
He alleged that INEC’s Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) stopped working at the middle of election when it discovered that the APC was losing the election.
Balami said the non celebration of the APC victory across the country was an indication that the election result was not a reflection of the choice of the people.
Celebrity biker, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, famously known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has revealed a scary dream he had to the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Suleman.
Recall that Suleman has been making headlines over his alleged sexcapades with Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar and other celebrities.
TheNewsGuru.com reports that the actress came up with revelations of how Apostle Suleman slept with her even when she was bleeding and how she had three abortions for him.
Reacting to this, Charly Boy, on Tuesday, in a tweet on his Twitter handle, stated that it was no longer news that many pastors in Nigeria engaged in fraudulent activities.
Warning Apostle Suleman to be careful, he narrated that he dreamt about him being attacked by women, and his manhood was cut off.
”Not that I always like to yab pastors’, but I know many Nigerian pastors are either just scumbags or fraudulent. That’s putting it mildly, but this one takes the cake. Suleman, you better be careful, I dreamt last night that some women attacked and cut off your manhood,” he claimed.
Speaking further, Charly Boy advised the Apostle about a new business idea, claiming ”since all you know is balling women, why don’t you open a brothel. Another business idea though.”
Nigerian singer/songwriter, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has called on the youths across the country to protect their votes at their polling units during the 2023 general elections.
Charly Boy, who made the call in an interview on the sideline of the ‘YellOut 4 Good Governance in Nigeria’ event on Friday in Abuja, said the ‘YellOut’ programme was a reawakening of the great Nigerian youths, adding that he is very happy and proud of the youths in the country.
“I have told them that the salvation of any country lies in the hands of the exceptional people; these people are the great Nigerian youths.
“They already know their rights, but my call to them is that they should stand and defend those right at the polling boots.
“However, the opposition wants to do it, I know that the boys are ready to give them back what they get. I don’t have chills in that area; all I can do is wish them well and pray for their safety.
“Nigeria is getting dangerous for my liking, and because of years of disunity and inaction, there are some sacrifices that need to be made and we are going to make these sacrifice,” Charly Boy said.
On the killing of Labour Party Woman Leader in Kaduna, Charly Boy said the old regime think they could still play by their own playbook.
According to the 72-year-old Port Harcourt-born actor and television presenter, the old regime don’t realise the revolution that is happening right now before their eyes, adding that they are in denial.
A campaign video of leading American television and Hollywood stars endorsing the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi ahead of next year’s general election has gone viral on social media.
Investigations by TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) showed that the video which began circulating on Monday has gained much traction, as it has been shared by many fans and supporters of the party.
Sharing the video at 2:41 PM on Monday, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy wrote:
“Impressive. Peter Obi’s campaign has taken on a global outlook with leading American TV and Hollywood actors driving the campaign.”
His post has garnered over 226 thousand views, 13 thousand likes, six thousand retweets and one thousand comments at the time of filing this report.
Our investigation reveals that the video of American celebrities purportedly endorsing the candidature of Peter Obi is doctored to mislead the public.
The video is a combination of several clips from Wired’s autocomplete videos that have celebrities answering commonly searched questions about themselves, which have now been doctored to give a misleading interpretation of the circumstances under which they were recorded.
Some stars that have been featured in the Wired Autocomplete Series include John Boyega, Kevin Hart, Jenna Ortega, Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Idris Elba, Bruce Willis, Keke Palmer, Steve – O, Chris Hemsworth, Seth Rogen, Alicia Keys, Andrew Garfield, Dolly Parton and Common, among others.
Matching original wired interview video frames with the doctored campaign video frame.
Inspired by the video series, Google in 2017 launched its celebrity search Questions and Answers where it asks celebrities to film themselves answering questions that people are curious to know about them.
For example, one common question about Grammy award winner, Adele is “Why does Adele use numbers for her Albums?” The response is that the numbers represent her age at the time of release.
VERDICT:
The video of American celebrities endorsing Obi for president is doctored, misleading and, therefore, should be disregarded by the public.
Nigeria’s entertainer, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy has posited that the 2023 elections may not hold in the country due to the current situation.
Charly Boy pointed out many challenges like, hunger, poverty, the dollar rise, attacks on the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) and other challenges confronting the country as reasons the election may not hold.
Areafada made this comments known from his vacation base in the United Kingdom.
Charly Boy who is a supporter of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, also added that the political bigwigs that have held the country hostage for years are still around and not ready to relinquish power to Nigerians in 2023.
He said: “There may be no election next year going by what I see. I don’t think that these people who have their stronghold on the nation’s political space are willing to relinquish power to the people.
“I repeat, there may not be an election next year. I have been saying this since last year. The way things are going, I doubt it. Nigeria is on a free fall. I have been saying it for years”.
Speaking on the dollar rise and the state of the economy, CB said: “I was telling my family that a dollar will get to N1500. Look at what is happening now; it’s almost getting to N1000. There you are. The redesigning of the Naira is not a solution. How can it be a solution when you are producing nothing and you are not exporting? So you just keep printing money to pay salaries and you think that’s a solution?
“Do you know what will happen at the end of the day? Because anybody who has money now, will not have tomorrow. If you have 5 million Naira today, some people will think it’s a lot of money, but do you know that every day, that 5 million Naira that you have in the bank keeps depreciating?
“If you give it another 4 months, that money will be worth 800k. So where do we go from there? So it looks like there may be no election next year. Everything points to that fact.”
