Stop looking for ready-made husband – Charly Boy advises women

Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Oputa has advised ladies to stop seeking ready-made husbands and start being supportive.

In an Instagram post, Charly Boy said that ladies must be able to offer more than sex and start supporting their men in other areas of life.

According to him, most relationships are cut short nowadays because many ladies only have sex to offer in their relationships and nothing more.

He said: “Many girls complain that guys walk away from them simply because they refused to give them sex. Some girls have even turned into sex toys just to keep a man. Let me be very open here, sex might not be the reason these guys walk away.

“Remove sex from a relationship and you’ll see that most girls do not have anything else to offer their man.

” Aside from sex, what do you have to offer to a man. Can you support him spiritually? Can you support him physically and financially? How about mentally?”

He urged ladies to stop spending unnecessarily on material things and plan for the future with their partners.

“All you girls do is demand money for bags, shoes, phones, clothes, and outings. Making him spend unnecessarily. What are you even bringing to the table?

“Have you ever sat him down and helped him plan for his future. Try to be a woman that a man will always regret losing for the rest of his life.

“Be that woman that your man can’t afford to lose to another man. Build your man to your taste and stop looking for a ready-made husband when you’re not a ready-made wife,” he added.

TheNewsGuru recalls that in an interview, Charly Boy urged young Nigerians to set up their own political party.

“First of all, I found out, sadly, that most of the young people who were making noise during the last elections didn’t register. But all these elections, are they not mere selections? There are no elections but we can no longer help it. So, the youth should start thinking about setting up their own thing. Because if we try that one and it doesn’t work, everything must scatter. For this country to stand again, we have to raze the building down to the foundation and start again. That is the only way”.

How I predicted Nigerians would win Grammy – Charly Boy

Veteran singer, Charles Oputa a.k.a Charly Boy has opened up on how he predicted that Nigerians would win the Grammys 19 years ago.

Speaking in a chat with Punch, he said: “Nineteen years ago, there was no Burna Boy. But, I said people should watch out because Nigerians would begin to win Grammy Awards. I thank God my prediction has been fulfilled in my lifetime. I also predicted that Nigerian songs would go global and our artistes would become unstoppable. I had so much faith in our artistes. I made those predictions when I was the president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria. At that time, Nigerians hardly played Nigerian music. But, I kicked against it because talented artistes had begun to spring up.

“I am so elated. It is a good thing for a 29-year-old Nigerian artiste to attain this feat. To see a young man doing great and getting global recognition is so exhilarating. Thankfully, it is not just Burna Boy. Many artistes and other Nigerians in Diaspora are also breaking records in all facets of life. What more could I ask for, especially since we have been governed by scavengers all these years. We have also been living under unhealthy conditions.”

“My Dear Dewy, I know the last few days may have been tough for you following from my Friday post. I apologize if my post rubbed you the wrong way, for this I am deeply sorry, my bad. Forgive me,” he wrote on Monday.

“But Honestly, I was talking to parents trying to get them to understand that they-can only give good advice or put their children on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.”

On November 20 the maverick musician made a post on Instagram saying he was grateful for having a lesbian child.

Responding to her dad’s post Dewy said, “But just a few days ago … you know what never mind, we already did this in 2018. Imma let you post your lil content for your follows.”

Still not pleased, she opened up in a Twitter thread about how she had been treated unfairly by her dad.

“’ Gaslighting’ at its finest. It is quite unfortunate that my life is nothing but content. I just cannot wrap my head around the hypocrisy. All this for a drop of clout, attention, and praise from strangers just to feed your ego.

“Honestly, I was going to just ‘free’ this situation because I’m used to this toxicity and mentally I’m tired. But after seeing this, I cannot stomach this pretentious behaviour anymore because normally, this man does not pick my calls.

It wasn’t easy when my daughter told me she is lesbian —Charly Boy

Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, says it wasn’t easy for him when he discovered his daughter is a homosexual.

Charly Boy said this in a post on his social media handles on Friday.

The Area Fada said months before his daughter revealed her sexual orientation to him, he had openly supported LGBT campaigns.

TheNewsGuru recalls that Charly Boy had in a viral photo in 2011, kissed media personality, Denrele Edun, on the lips which sparked rumours that he was a bisexual.

The musician wrote, “I am close with my children and I love them to bits. They are my friends. But I wasn’t really ready for the ‘breaking news’ my Princess Dewy had for me. When my child told me she is gay, a lesbian, I experienced a range of emotions, during that phone conversation.

“So many things went through my mind, one of them included self-blame (did I do something wrong?) (the child I thought I knew and loved no longer exists.), worry (will my child be discriminated against?) religious confusion (is my child damned to spend eternity in hell?), and stigma (what will people think of my child? of me?).”

Charly Boy, who is the son of revered judge, Chukwudifu Oputa, said he tried not to overreact when his daughter spoke about her sexuality because he didn’t want to strain their relationship.

He added, “I was hoping it was a prank but it was happening in real time. Even though I was unusually calm through that conversation, my mind was wondering in all directions.

“Months before this incident, I was lending my voice in support of LGTB rights in Nigeria. Is life playing tricks on me? Now my daughter is gay, why do I feel disappointed? Am I a hypocrite? How do I handle this bombshell?

“I told myself that I will get through this, and many months later I did,” he said.

“As a matter of fact, I now look back and find that I am grateful for the experience of having a gay or lesbian child,” he added.

“Acceptance of the truth is like surgery. It hurts but cures. A lie is like a pain killer. It gives instant relief but its side effects can last forever,” Charly boy said
