Why Victor Osimhen deal failed – Chelsea coach

Chelsea’s Head Coach, Enzo Maresca has given hints on why the West London football club could not secure the signature of Nigeria Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Maresca gave the hint on Sunday after Chelsea drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge and following the close of the summer transfer window.

Coach Maresca hinted that the conditions given for the signature of Osimhen from Napoli were not good for the club and that Chelsea had wanted the conditions to be decided by them.

“We want players but we want players that we decide and then the condition has to be our condition. So if the players are not here, then that means the conditions were not good for us,” he said.

After Osimhen failed to secure a move away from Italy at the close of the transfer window, his parent club, Napoli became the only option available for the Nigerian striker.

He has been left out of Napoli’s squad for the season and coach Antonio Conte has said no player would be reintegrated in the squad.

“No, we will not reintegrate any player. Decisions are made, we move in that direction,” Conte said.

Earlier, Napoli sporting director, Giovanni Manna had disclosed that Osimhen decided not to play for the club anymore since last year and that the plan between him and the club remains to part ways.

“Osimhen decided not to play for our club anymore last year, we tried to help. So there was a negotiation but the deal did not happen. The plan on both sides remains to part ways. But I do not think he will go to Saudi anymore this summer,” Manna said.

BREAKING: Osimhen’s move to Chelsea collapses; left with one option

The deal to have Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen move to Chelsea has collapsed completely, following closure of the summer transfer window.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the long-awaited move for Osimhen to Chelsea never saw the light of day after transfer talks stalled before the close of the transfer window.

Osimhen had been linked with a move from Napoli to Stamford Bridge, with Saudi Pro League side, Al Ahli also interested in signing the forward.

Uncertainty had beclouded Osimhen’s move to Chelsea. The Nigeria international was on a big contract at Napoli but Chelsea’s offer was below par.

Al Ahli offered Osimhen a whopping £60 million (about N141 billion) to lure him to Saudi. However, the Nigerian forward preferred to remain in Europe than to move to the Saudi Pro League.

“Victor Osimhen-Chelsea deal now off as no agreement has been reached. No agreement with Chelsea and their delegation now leaving Napoli after negotiations collapsed tonight,” sports journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosed.

TNG reports Osimhen has become one of the deadliest strikers in Europe in recent campaigns and has bagged 55 Serie A goals over the last three seasons.

As it stands, if nothing happens from Saudi in the next 3 days, Osimhen will stay at Napoli, but will not be part of the squad.

Relationship between the player and the club is currently completely broken, as Osimhen does not want to play anymore for the Serie A side.

This means the only option left for the Super Eagles striker is a move away to Saudi Al Ahli.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have alternatively agreed to a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United. United have agreed to the loan deal with buy obligation clause offered by Chelsea. Sancho has already said yes to the deal and set for medicals.

Similarly, Al Ahli have completed the deal to sign Ivan Toney on £40m deal from Brentford, following the failure to secure Osimhen.

Medicals have been done, contract agreed and Ivan will travel to Saudi this weekend to be presented as Al Ahli player.

Why I subsituted Mudryk at half-time – Chelsea boss, Maresca

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has spoken about why he took off Mykhailo Muydrk in a 6-2 win over Wolves.

Despite the Blues picking up an outstanding result away from home, Mudryk was not at his best in the contest.

Maresca admitted that he was not pleased with the Ukraine winger, but hopes that Mudryk can improve.

He stated to reporters: “Because I was not happy. I think in some moments we can manage some situations better.

“He was working very hard off the ball and that was very good. But in terms of on the ball, I expect a bit more quality from Misha.

“For me, he had some good moments the other day and some good moments today and the reason why was just because we needed to change and give Pedro (Neto) some minutes.”

Jackson hits back at Mikel Obi: ‘We’re killing ourselves for Africa

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has responded to former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, telling him to “shut his mouth” after Mikel’s harsh criticism of the club’s strikers.

Jackson expressed his displeasure on Instagram following Chelsea’s dominant victory over Wolves, where he scored within 98 seconds and assisted Cole Palmer for a second goal in the first half.

Mikel Obi had criticized the 23-year-old Senegalese forward after Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City, claiming Jackson lacked the quality Chelsea needed.

In response, Jackson tagged Mikel in an Instagram Story after the Wolves game and wrote, “Shut your mouth, don’t talk sh*t, we are killing ourselves for Africa.”

Chelsea’s Madueke hits hat-trick in Wolves win

Noni Madueke’s hat-trick gave Chelsea their first Premier League victory of the season as they beat Wolves in a pulsating and chaotic encounter.

Chelsea took the lead after 98 seconds when Cole Palmer’s inswinging corner was inadvertently flicked on by Matheus Cunha and an unmarked Nicholas Jackson nodded in at the back post.

Jackson stoked an already feisty Molineux crowd with his celebrations – and Wolves rallied on the field.

Rayan Ait-Nouri’s dazzling run set up Cunha and the livewire Brazilian equalised with a crisp low finish from inside the box, before appearing to goad Chelsea’s players.

Palmer then restored Chelsea’s lead with a deft cushioned lob from 30 yards when he spotted Jose Sa off his line.

Wolves got themselves back level for a second time shortly before the break when Jorgen Strand Larsen poked home from the edge of the six-yard box after a free-kick was squared back across goal.

However, England Under-21 forward Madueke’s treble in 14 second-half minutes settled the game as a contest.

The three goals were nearly identical as the winger scored with low angled shots from inside the area, assisted by Palmer on each occasion.

Joao Felix put the gloss on the result late on when he side-footed the ball high into the net from near the penalty spot after being picked out by fellow substitute – and former Wolves winger – Pedro Neto.

  • EPL: Osimhen’s Chelsea transfer uncertain amidst £500k-a-week wage standoff

EPL: Osimhen’s Chelsea transfer uncertain amidst £500k-a-week wage standoff

Victor Osimhen’s potential transfer from Napoli to Chelsea may not fall through due to his high wage demands. According to The Sun, the Nigerian striker is asking for £500,000 a week to join the Blues this week.

Osimhen is also not interested in a loan move, further complicating the deal. As a result, Chelsea is now considering alternative striker options with less than a week remaining in the summer transfer window.

They are reportedly eyeing Federico Chiesa, who has been sidelined at Juventus, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has one year remaining on his contract at Everton. Osimhen has also drawn interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Transfer: Chelsea stunned by Osimhen’s personal demands

Premier League club Chelsea have been stunned by Victor Osimhen’s personal demands. Napoli and Chelsea are willing to do business over the Nigeria international.

However, the deal is in the balance with Osimhen demanding a staggering £500,000-A-WEEK to move to London, says The Sun.

Chelsea would have to make Osimhen the highest paid player in the Premier League to make the move happen.

The two clubs, meanwhile, have been haggling over a fee for the striker, with Chelsea reluctant to pay Osimhen’s €130m buyout clause, while Napoli have refused Chelsea’s loan proposal.

UEFA Conference League: Chelsea beat Servette 2-0 at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Servette in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League tie.

Despite finishing sixth in the Premier League, the Blues found themselves in the competition due to Manchester United’s FA Cup triumph.

Under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea struggled to find the net in the first half at Stamford Bridge. However, Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock after the break, scoring his first goal of the season with a penalty.

Noni Madueke then doubled the lead, firing a shot from a tight angle with his weaker right foot.

This result gives Chelsea a strong advantage as they aim to qualify for the main competition.

Raheem Sterling makes Chelsea transfer decision

Veteran English winger Raheem Sterling has accepted his fate at club level.

The flier now wants to leave Chelsea in a permanent transfer after the club told him he is no longer in their plans.

Sterling, Ben Chilwell, and other first teamers have been frozen out by boss Enzo Maresca.

Per The Mirror, Sterling has accepted the situation and will look to find a club between now and the end of the month.

“I spoke with Raheem before the City game, I said he will struggle to get minutes with us,” coach Enzo Maresca told reporters on Wednesday.

“I don’t think this is brutal, just honest. If (Sterling) wants a chat again I’ll tell him what I already told him.

“I am not saying Raheem is not a good player but I prefer different kinds of wingers. It’s simple.”

20 Chelsea players training away from squad – Maresca

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca does not believe it will take long to settle down his squad.

The Blues have been through a lot of change over the past few years and even this summer.

While the club focuses on selling players behind the scenes, Maresca feels he has a settled starting 11 and squad depth.

He told reporters: “It’s already the first 11 we want, already the squad that we want but the first 11 we had against City is not always going to be the same for the season. I repeat again: I am not working with 42 players.

“At this moment, I am working with 21 players. Today’s session is with 20 players. Yesterday’s session was with 21. But the other 15 or 20, they are training apart. In the USA, we had 26 or 27 players.

“Chelsea players, yes, 42 or 43, sure, but they are not working with me every day. I don’t see them so it’s not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not.”
