  • I’m not the best of all to lead Benue state – Governor- Elect, Fr Hyacinth Alia

    Benue State Governor-elect, and Christian cleric,  Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has revealed that his emergence was divinely orchestrated.

    According to the cleric, he’s not the most qualified to lead the state but attributed his victory to God.

    Alia, however, said God who made him governor, would qualify him to lead the State.

    He disclosed this in his victory speech yesterday

    The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Alia the winner of last Saturday’s governorship election in the State.

    Alia of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated his closest rival, Titus Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, and Herman Hembe of the Labour Party to emerge winner of the poll.

    The Catholic priest polled 473,933 votes to defeat Uba his closest opponent who scored 223,913

    Delivering his victory speech, Alia said: “My beloved fellow citizens of Benue State,I stand before you today as the duly elected Governor of Benue state.

    “I recognize what an enormous privilege and honor it is to be trusted with the government of the State especially at this time and am deeply conscious of it. I would like to say that God does not call the qualified! He qualifies the called.

    “I may not be the most qualified Benue son to lead the State at this time but the Good Lord who has called me will qualify me.”

    Alia commended people of the State for voting massively for him.

    “Never in my life have I seen a people express their desires and wishes so passionately as I saw from you in this election,” he said.

    Christian, Muslim preachers warn against voting for tribal, religious sentiments

    Muslim and Christian preachers have advised  against electoral violence and voting based on tribal and religious grounds.

    The Chief Imam of Takur central mosque, Malam Aminu Baba Waziri, on Friday evening called on the Muslim Ummah to come out en masse to exercise their constitutional rights and vote for competent leaders.

    The Islamic  cleric warned the Muslim faithful that would be asked about the decisions they made for Nigeria on the day of judgement.

    Also commenting on the election, Pastor Daniel Azanah, advised people to vote for the right candidate that will help in the development of the country.

    The clerics, however, warned the public to shun electoral violence and voting based on tribal and religious sentiments.

    The presidential election holds today  February 25th 2023.

    2023 Elections: Apostle Suleman speaks on forthcoming polls

    Apostle Johnson Suleiman of the Omega Fire Ministry has issued out warnings to the general public concerning the forthcoming general elections in the country, saying it will be a deciding factor.

    Suleman warns that nobody should allow unrealistic figure ruin the election in the country.

    The cleric also lamented that the country has never had it so bad as it is currently witnessing over the last few weeks.

    His statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.

    He called on Nigerians to go to the polling unit on the day of the election to cast votes and ensure their votes are counted.

    He wrote, “This coming election will be a deciding factor for generations unborn..we have never had it so terrible especially this past few weeks. Go to your polling unit and vote..wait for it to be counted, and get it all captured and recorded..let’s see how they can lie to us with figures.”

    Our leaders will be stoned, mocked one day – Primate Ayodele

    The leader Of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has revealed that the people of the country will one day stone and mock Nigerian leaders over the worsening economic situation of the country.

    The cleric further noted that the country is being plunged into economic debt which cannot be repaid in six years time.

    Ayodele. stressed that even if the country gets a new leader he cannot do much considering the level of debt and ruins on ground, saying the situation is not palatable at the moment.

    The Christian cleric made this known via a  statement signed and released by his media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele.

    He said: ‘’More hardship awaits Nigerians because this government is serious on debt that cannot finish in the next six years.

    ”Even the next government will still continue to service debt. Only God can help Nigeria because there will be a massive protest against economic hardship.

    “Things are going to be very expensive; the government is just telling Nigerians lies. I am not seeing any better days ahead because everyone will be affected. It will amount to stoning, embarrassing and mocking our leaders.’’
