  • ISWAP releases video of Christian captives’ execution

Fighters of the Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP), have released a video showing the killing of 11 Christians abducted from Borno State some weeks back.

The terrorist group claimed they spared the lives of two persons out of 13 people who were captured.

The 56-second video was released on December 26 and produced by the ISIS “news agency” Amaq.

According to the ISWAP, the 11 victims are Christians, however, a careful assessment of the video released on December 17, indicated that three Muslims and 10 Christians were captured.

The captives were abducted from different parts of Borno State in October. Their identities had earlier been revealed through recorded videos of their plea for intervention and rescue to President Buhari and leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

Ahmad Salkida, a conflict journalist known for monitoring of terrorist activities in Nigeria’s northeast, had claimed on Boxing Day that the 11 captives were executed on Christmas Day.

Salkida, who disclosed this on his website @ salkida.com, said ISWAP boasted the captives were executed as a revenge for the killings of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir in Iraq and Syria.

“The Buhari administration will not relent in efforts to bring Leah Sharibu safely back home to her parents as it has done for the other girls after she was held back by the terrorists over her decision, as reported, not to convert from Christianity to Islam.

“President Buhari is fully conscious of his duty under the constitution to protect all Nigerians, irrespective of faith, ethnic background or geopolitical location and will not shirk in this responsibility.

  • Women who wear high-heel shoes, apply make-ups will miss heaven – Cleric

A cleric, Evangelist Gideon Akande of the Revelation of Truth Evangelical Ministries has stated that women who wear high-heel shoes and apply make-ups are not Godly and might miss out the golden opportunity of making heaven.

The evangelist who made the observation on his Facebook page on Monday said Christian ladies who wear high heels suffer the most in the hands of their husbands.

According to Akande, “A Christian woman who likes wearing high heel shoes is married to the world; she may be in the church, but her soul is in the world. You will NEVER see a godly, chaste and modest Christian lady wearing high heel shoe.

Too many oppositions to the post that says high heel shoes are ungodly, can’t you understand? Can’t you realize soon that high heel shoes, make-ups, and downs are not the solution to happy and peaceful life?

With your high heel shoes Satan is still messing you up, and with all those beauty care you still have depressions, your husband still cheat on your, you still don’t have rest of mind on your husband when he travels, your husband still abuse you with your high heel shoes, you still not sure of tomorrow, can’t you see that by human power and wisdom you can’t prevail in this battle of life with high heel shoes?

If high heel shoes, make-ups, and downs were to be the solution for happy life and marriage, many ladies of these days would be living in paradise on earth life, but rather they are living hell on earth.

With all the makeups, the devil still messes their lives and marriages, with the high heel shoes, their husbands still cheat on them and abuse them, living in uncertain fear and persistent depression even with all outward beauty.

For example, the celebrities with the highest heel shoes and make-ups have the highest rate of divorce. Can you see it is not by wearing high heel shoes that will make you march the enemy of your soul which is the devil? You need Jesus Christ in your life genuinely!”

  • I’ve never lied in my entire life – Doyin Okupe

I’ve never lied in my entire life – Doyin Okupe

Former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has said he never told a lie in his entire life being a Christian.

He said even while in office, he discharged his duties diligently and was never hypocritical about it.

Okupe revealed this in an interview The Sun.

The PDP chieftain said he had no reason to tell lies just to protect his job.

In his words: “Lying and looking after the image of your principal are two different things. In the first instance, I have religious constraints; you know I am a Christian and we were told that lying is of the devil.

I will not lie for any reason because it is the same mouth that I am going to lie with that I am going to pray with and they don’t work together.

Luckily for me, the first person I worked with was Obasanjo, he hated the word ‘propaganda’ because he felt that propaganda was about lying, although that is not true.

But, basically, you can still do a good job, even with the worst principal without lying but by emphasising and deliberately delving or over-indulging on the positive sides of your boss.

So, If I get cornered by a journalist with lots of negativity, I always find an exit, with the positive side of any situation in which I am in and then, dwell on that.”

Xmas: Muslim group urges collaboration with Christians to promote peace

The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) has called for collaboration between Muslims and Christians to promote the nation’s peace and progress.

The group made the call in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim.

“As Christians mark the birthday of Jesus Christ, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) felicitates with them and calls on them for sober-reflection on the State of the Nation.

“While congratulating our Christian brethren on this occasion, we Muslims invite them to ‘Let us work Together’ for peace and progress of our beloved Nation – Nigeria.”

This, the group added, could be done by avoiding religious intolerance, fanaticism and acrimony.

“We should both pursue love, affection and spiritual devotion with practical example to justify our believe in God.

“From the History, both Muslims and Christians have been our brothers-keepers for long.

“The event of Abbysinnia (now Ethiopia) where a Christian King called Negus protected the early Muslims that migrated from Makkah remains uncontroversial.

“Also the agreement of the Holy Prophet with the Christians and Jews in Madinah when Prophet Muhammad migrated to Madinah where he sworn to protect the Christians and Jews from any aggression, oppression or victimisation.

“As well as the warm reception he gave to them in his Mosque in Madinah during in visit by a group of Christians – are sure evidences of our long-standing relationship which must be sustained.”

It stated that the present economic situation brought about by corruption, lack of fear of God and materialism should be a matter of serious concern to all irrespective of the religious persuasion as the problem is that of both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.
