This put it ahead of movies like ‘Christmas Made to Order’, ‘The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie’, and ‘The Losers’.

Subsequent events that unfold eventually pit her world against that of the respected academic, baring the realities that have frequently played out in many male-dominated educational environments.

Among ‘Citation’s cast is Ibukun Awosika, chairman of First Bank of Nigeria (FBN); Temi Otedola, Joke Silvia, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Edo, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Adjetey Anang, Gabriel Afolayan, Bienvenu Neba, and Sadiq Daba.

On the movie’s focus on campus sexual assault, Afolayan had said: “Citation will create awareness on the violence against women in the public and private sphere. It’ll educate society on enforcing women’s rights.

“The movie will encourage and embolden women to stand up against mistreatment and abuse by a patriarchal society. It has been designed to propel women to aspire to become successful leaders.”
