IPOB replies Northern Group, says don’t start unending ethnic war
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has warned the Coalition of Northern Groups against the killings of Igbo in the North saying they shouldn’t start an unending ethnic war in the country.
IPOB reacted to threats by the CNG to retaliate against the alleged killings of their kinsmen in the South-East region of the country.
“The North will no longer remain passive under such deliberate and sustained attacks on its people and interests, and will henceforth be forced to react to every provocation and unwarranted violation.
“The North’s reticence in speaking out or taking action is not born of fear or ignorance of how to respond in kind and those who tempt us should know that the North is no longer going to turn the other cheek”, the Spokesperson of CNG, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, had said.
In his reaction, Emma Powerful, the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, has denied that the organization had any connection in the killing of Fatima and her kids.
“We have many things in our hands to respond to this group called CNG because they are non issue; we are expecting them to start killing in Nigeria and see our position.“We remain peaceful in our pursuit for Biafra freedom and if they could not call the criminals they brought in our land and thinking we can run for them, they are jokers, let them start this fight and see what the end will look like.
“IPOB has nothing whatsoever to do with the death of a Hausa woman who was with her children on Sunday and we strongly condemn the dastard act by criminals sponsored by Northern politicians.
“Before they threatened us, they should, first of all, remove those terrorists and bandits transferred into Obinze barracks in Owerri, Imo State where they operate from and they were brought to kill and murder and blame it on peaceful IPOB and ESN.
“The ESN (Eastern Security Network) does not work like bandits and terrorists because we know what human blood represents. The killers of this woman and children were Fulani terrorists and jihadists they transferred into military barracks and want soldiers to protect them.
“They are sharing them with ID cards to operate and the world must ask the military why they were giving these terrorist cards for identification.
“The Army was giving them coverage, if these people kidnap, the military will provide them with a place they will keep their victims and bring someone who will receive ransom from victims relatives or family members.
“IPOB and ESN did not kill anybody talk of Hausa woman with children, it’s is an abomination to kill women, children, school children, and pregnant women. We are not like them who plucked out babies from Igbo pregnant women in 1966 and 1970.
“The type of killing going on in our land now is the type Fulani terrorists kill and type of beheading. There is no iota of truth in what they are saying that IPOB hates Hausas living in our territory. What IPOB is after are Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen who are raping our mothers, wives, and sisters in our bushes and forests.”

Hushpuppi: Coalition of Northern groups reject DCP Abba Kyari’s suspension from service
The Coalition of Northern Groups has kicked against the suspension of the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Abba Kyari following his indictment by a US Court.
Spokesman of the Coalition – comprising civil society organisations and non-governmental bodies – Abdulazeez Sulaiman spoke on behalf of the groups at a news conference after its meeting in Kaduna state on Sunday.
He noted that both the Nigerian police authorities and the FBI breached Kyari ‘s fundamental rights by not allowing him to be heard before taking the hasty actions against him.
They have, therefore, demanded an immediate review of the suspension and have also asked that the ongoing investigation with the FBI be transferred to the Nigerian Intelligence Agency.
Mr Kyari was suspended by the Police Service Commission last Sunday following his indictment in the case of alleged fraud linked to popular socialite, Ramon Abbas, a.k.a Hushpuppi.
According to a statement by the commission’s Head of Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the suspension was conveyed in a letter signed by Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, a retired justice of the Supreme Court.
It took effect from July 31, and would subsist pending the outcome of the investigation.
The commission also directed the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, to furnish it with information on further developments on the matter for necessary further action.
According to documents unsealed over a week ago in the US, Mr Kyari had arrested and jailed one Chibuzo Vincent, at the behest of Hushpuppi.
He also allegedly sent Hushpuppi bank account details into which he (Hushpuppi) could deposit payment for Vincent’s arrest and imprisonment.
Mr Kyari, in a Facebook post on Thursday, however, denied the allegations.
On July 28, the US Department of Justice had announced that Hushpuppi had been involved “in an elaborate scheme to steal more than $1.1 million from a business person attempting to finance the construction of a school for children in Qatar.”
Six persons were indicted in the investigation.
In laundering the proceeds of the Qatar operation, a dispute broke out among members of the conspiracy, courts documents said.
The dispute allegedly prompted Vincent – one of the members, to contact the victim and inform them of the scam operation.
After this contact, Hushpuppi allegedly arranged to have Vincent jailed in Nigeria by Kyari.
Kyari was also alleged to have provided third-party bank accounts to receive payment for the illegal arrest.
In his defence, he said Vincent had been arrested only because Hushpuppi claimed that he (Vincent) had seriously threatened to attack his family in Nigeria but he was eventually released on bail after no actual threats were discovered.
“Nobody demanded a kobo from Abbas Hushpuppi.
“Our focus was to save people’s lives that were purported to have been threatened,” Kyari said.”

Insecurity: Armed thugs disrupt meeting organised by #BringBackOurBoys conveners [Photos]
Thugs wielding dangerous weapons invaded the Arewa House Kaduna on Monday, where they ran after officials of the Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, who were there for a security summit.
Recall TheNewsGuru had earlier reported that the group issued an ultimatum to the President Muhammadu buhari led government to secure release of schoolboys abducted in Katsina, failure of which it commence massive rally in the northern region.
Abdulaziz Suleiman, spokesman of the CNG, in a statement, explained that even security guards had to run for their lives.
According to him, “We regret to announce that armed thugs numbering hundreds were unleashed on the Arewa House venue of the security summit hosted by the Coalition of Northern Groups on Monday, December 14.”
“The Summit aimed to discuss ways to achieve synergy between communities and government security and design a uniform approach to the current security situation in the North.”
“Participants at the meeting included retired military officers, Retired Police officers, religious leaders, traditional rulers, various women, youth and trade associations.”
The CNG said just as the meeting was kicking off, ” sponsored armed thugs stormed the auditorium after subduing the civil guards at the gate.” “The overturned tables shattered glasses, attacked the guests and officials, wounding several people and smashing vehicles parked in the premises.”
“It is disturbing that a battalion of armed thugs can stroll free across the streets of central Kaduna wielding dangerous weapons without the intervention of the security. Security only arrived hours after the thugs had left.” “It is quite obvious now that some powerful forces are benefiting from the current security situation and would do everything for it to continue.” “We are now all the more committed to ensuring the safety and security of the North and its people.”
