    Basketmouth beef: I was told friendship is not by force, AY Comedian reveals

    Popular Nigerian comedian, Ayodeji Makun, aka AY, revealed that some senior colleagues in the comedy industry told him to slow down on  reconciling with his longtime industry rival, Basketmouth

    In a recent interview with Teju Babyface, AY disclosed he was told ‘friendship is not by force’.

    AY said, “The bros [senior colleagues in the comedy industry] knew [about my beef with Basketmouth] and at some point in time, they had to ask me to slow down. They were like: ‘You’re doing too much. You are putting in too much to make this thing work. Friendship is not by force.’

    “I was believing that ‘No, this can work’. Even in my last stand-up comedy, I had to go on stage and I did another routine ‘My guy. How’s my guy? This is my guy. If you see this guy, tell him he’s my guy.’ And the following morning, everywhere exploded again. ‘We are not friends. We are not that. We are not this.’

    “So, for me now, I’m not pushing anything anymore. As I’m here now as AY, if I have to go to my grave without sitting with any of these guys to say ‘hello, ‘hi,’ I will be happy.”

    Peteru died on Wednesday, 21 December 2022 at the age of 35.

    The family is yet to disclose the cause of death.

    Social media influencers and colleagues have taken to Instagram and Twitter to mourn his demise. 

    Recall that another comedian from Ibadan, Mimic King was killed by armed Robbers on December 3, 2022, after he was robbed.

    Fast-rising comedian, Chuwkwuemeka Ejekwu, who is popularly known as Sabinus, video of an alleged private engagement ceremony in Lagos, before crashing his N40m Mercedes Benz GLE SUV, is currently trending online.

    Social media users claimed this took place in Era, Ojo local government area of the state.

     

    The comedian attempted to secretly perform the engagement rites to his partner after he visited her parents place in Lagos.

     

    He was, however, captured by some residents living in his girlfriend’s parents area, as he tried to go about the activities in a discreet manner, but he was videoed as he was kneeling in front of his in-laws in Era-Ojo area of Lagos State.

     

    He accompanied the post with a video that showed Sabinus entering a house.

     

    When the comedian noticed that he was been recorded, he issued a warning.

     

    Congratulatory messages are already pouring in for him on social media.

     

    “Sabinus came to my area to do a small engagement at his girlfriend’s parent’s house. Happened in Era Ojo, Lagos”.

     

    TheNewsGuru.com had reported that the Nigerian comedian escaped death after being involved in a road crash.

     

    Video of the crash which happened Sunday morning is currently circulating on social media.

     

    Sabinus who won this year’s Best social media content creator at the Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) confirmed the incident.

     

    The comedian was involved in the crash riding in his newly acquired Benz.

     

    Confirming the incident, Sabinus stated that he is safe and sound.

     

    He wrote on his Instagram page, “Safe and sound, thank you for the calls and care.

     

    It was gathered that Sabinus was driving on Sunday in Lagos in his newly acquired Mercedes Benz when a drunk driver rammed into his automotive.

     

    Reacting after the incident, Sabinus said, “God is in cost. We’ll get a new automotive”.

     

    TheNewsGuru.com recalls that the comedian, who joined the Mercedes Benz gang in the Nigerian entertainment industry in 2021, splurged 40 million naira on the brand new Mercedes Benz GLE SUV that was involved in the accident.

     

    He took to his Insta-stories on Tuesday night, July 19 to show off the luxury whip.

    The gospel minister survived unscathed, however, one of the crew members in the car with him was reported to have suffered a minor injury.

    Social media users shocked by the news have raised prayers of appreciation to God for sparing the lives of the gospel singer and other car occupants who survived the accident.

     

    The singer is known for using his gift in service to God.

    Mabel Makun, wife of popular comedian and actor, Ayo Makun aka AY has revealed she had three miscarriages while looking for a second child.

    Recall that AY and his wife welcomed their second child days ago after 13 years.

    Speaking on her pregnancy struggles on Instagram, Mabel said she had three horrid miscarriages that had no medical explanations.

    Her post read, “This will trigger my emotions; the plan was to close/open my eyes and make it all disappear, but then again, I thought to myself, Mabel you have to encourage someone out there.

    “I had three miscarriages with no medical explanations as to reasons why. It was the same pattern as before, every single thing that happened with the others, happened again, only this time more, but I was determined to hold on tight to God and not fail.

    “Anal bleeding, threatened miscarriage, difficulty in breathing.”

    She mentioned that she was not psychologically and mentally stable which was the hardest part of her journey.

    “My emotions were all over the place, had to stop myself every time I felt the urge just to break down and cry.

    “Struggled within not to blame me for not protecting and fighting for the survival of the babies I lost, placenta separation and weak uterus.

    “Truthfully, I was exhausted, how I got here today is not something that I can explain, but I just know that God was and is still with me and Ayomide, for this we are eternally grateful,” Mabel wrote.

    A live video on Instagram has captured the moment, comedian D-General’s house was invaded by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

    While D-General was captured talking calmly with the supposed leader of the team who was about gaining access to his apartment in the first slide of the videos obtained, the second and third slides captured a heated exchange about the operatives being filmed.

    The heated exchange degenerated to assault after the phone used to film the operatives was knocked off, but it’s unclear who the victim was.

    US comedian, Bob Saget found dead in hotel room

    Bob Saget, an American actor and comedian best known as the jovial dad on the television sitcom “Full House,” was found dead in a hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday.

    The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use.

    Saget, 65, had performed in a comedy show in Florida on Saturday night and tweeted his appreciation to the audience.

    “Loved tonight’s show … I had no idea I did a 2 hr set,” he wrote on Twitter.

    He also pinned a tweet advertising upcoming shows in U.S. cities, up till June, 2022.

    He also urged fans to watch for upcoming tour dates this year.

    Gifted comedian, Ayo Ajewole, better known as Woli Agba, has welcomed a baby boy with his wife, revealing that he lost a child a year ago.

    Woli Agba stated that when he lost a baby in 2020, he performed on stage like nothing happened.

    In a recent Instagram post where he announced the arrival of his new baby, the comedian stated that God had restored his joy and cancelled the memory of his loss.

    Sharing a picture of an adult hand holding a baby’s foot, Woli Agba said, “Last year, I lost a baby but performed on stage like nothing happened.

    “January 3, 2020 ‘Hangout with Woliagba’ has been registered to my heart as the day I was heartbroken on stage, hid my sorrows, and made my people laugh while I struggled with the news of a dead baby deep down inside me.

    “This year, God has restored my joy and cancelled the memory of my loss. I am so grateful to God. Congratulations to my family. It’s a boy!”

    Chris Rock tests positive for COVID-19

    Popular American actor and comedian, Chris Rock has said that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

    The 56-year-old broke the news on his Twitter page in the late hours of Sunday. He also urged his followers to get vaccinated against the virus.

    “Hey guys I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated,” he told his 5.2 million followers.

    Rock had earlier said that he got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

    “This is my first Covid talk show and I’m vaccinated. I’m 2 shot Rock, that’s what they call me,” the stand-up comedian had said in May when he appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

    “I got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine though. It is the food stamp of the vaccine.”

    TheNewsGuru recalls that In 1984, Rock began his career as a stand-up comedian in New York. He started pulling strings of fame after he earned roles in the film ‘I’m Gonna Git You Sucka’ and ‘Miami Vice’ a TV series.

    He finally got his big break when Eddie Murphy, another US comedian, gave him his first major film role in ‘Beverly Hills Cop 2’

    Last year, Rock, whose real name is Christopher Julius Rock, broke up with Megalyn Echikunwoke, his girlfriend, bringing an end to their four-year-old relationship.
