    December to remember: Events you shouldn’t miss this yuletide season

    Undoubtedly, when you think of December you remember it’s a month of festivities, a time to wine and dine. This month is interspersed with public holidays that herald the New Year. In no particular order, we chronicle the events you should not miss this December.

     

    1. Olamide Live In Concert

    Everyone who attended the last edition of Olamide Live In Concert(OLIC) would recall the unprecedented fun that Olamide served his fans last year. This year’s edition will be held at the Eko Convention Centre on December 26th boxing day.

    1. Rhythm Unplugged:

    Rhythm Unplugged is known for consistently bringing entertainment to Lagosians .The amazing thing is that they have been doing this for 10 years. On December 23rd another edition of this music fiesta will be held at the Eko Convention Centre.

     

    1. Reekado Banks Thank You Concert

    It is not every time an artiste decides to stage a thank you concert for their fans. Kataput crooner , Reekado Banks will be saying thank you to his fans via a concert to be held at The Afrikan Shrine on December 21st.

     

    1. Afropolitan Vibes Music Festival

    When you are looking for a place to enjoy undiluted African music blended with palm wine, look in the direction of Afropolitan Vibes. This time around, music will invade Freedom Park, Lagos Island for two nights: December 16, 2016 To December 17, 2016. The likes of Seyi Shay and Keziah Jones will be performing at the event

     

    5.Bez Live

    Soulful Zuchadaya singer returns with his yearly concert titled BEZ LIVE.He will also be unveiling his album at the concert. It will be held on 24th of December at Muri Okunola Park.

     

    6.Niyola’s Yours Truly Concert

    Talented singer, Niyola will be hosting her fans this December at her concert titled Niyola’s Yours Truly Concert. The event will be held on the 15th of December at the Bridge Lekki

     

    7.Daviod Industry Nite Concert

    The weekly industry nite for music lovers will be ending 2016 with a special fiesta featuring Davido as the headlining act. The event holds Wednesday, 21st of December, 2016 at the Grand ball room, Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

     

     

  • Wizkid cancels homecoming event over health matters

     

    Starboy, Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun has canceled his highly anticipated homecoming concert following a firm warming from his team of medical officers to take some rest.

    The event was billed to take place at Eko Convention Centre on December 30, followed by another show at the New Afrika Shrine on January 1, 2017.

    However, doctors have advised him to cancel the rest of his shows for 2016 and January 2017.

    A statement posted on his official Twitter page read: “#TeamWizkid I’ve been on the road for two years touring and doing what I love without a break and now it’s all catching up on me.

    “I hate this but my docors have advised me to cancel the rest of my dates for this year and January 2017.

    “Apologies to all my fans, especially in Nigeria and Uganda and the rest of the world. I promise to be back stronger and better to see you guys.

    “Promise you new music before the end of the year!

    “Y’all have an amazing Christmas and New Year celebrations! I’ll be here recovering and getting my energy up to see you all next year.

    “Love you all and God bless.”
