Police seal off Delta APC secretariat as crisis deepens

The secretariat of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Asaba was, on Friday, sealed by the police following attempts by the Jones Erue-led faction to re-inaugurate parallel state executive committee.

Erue, who enjoys the backing of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, had last month, inaugurated his executive even without being sworn-in by then national chairman, John Oyegun.

Oyegun rather swore-in Cyril Ogodo as Delta State chairman of APC on June 4 in Abuja along with 32 other state chairmen.

Ogodo came back and inaugurated his faction’s state executive committee at the state secretariat.

But the coming on board of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as national chairman turned the table against Ogodo as he performed the swearing-in of Erue as Delta State APC chairman last Monday.

Buoyed by Oshiomhole’s action, the Erue faction on Thursday issued out notice for the inauguration of the state executive committee on Friday.

However, acting on a tip-off of possible bloodshed if another faction accesses the secretariat, the police were said to have taken a proactive measure by sealing it.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Mustafa, who confirmed the sealing of the secretariat, said the action was taken to ensure peace and prevent mayhem, adding that a meeting with leaders of both factions would be held on Friday.

As at the time of filing this report, operatives were stationed at the already secretariat, obviously to prevent forceful entrance by any of the parties.

The action of the police, it was gathered, was based on an earlier letter from the then National Chairman, John Oyegun introducing Cyril Ogodo to the police as the state chairman.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the party and former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Victor Ochei has urged party faithful to sheathe their swords, and avoid inflammatory utterances but remain calm as concerted efforts were on to resolve the contentious issues.

Ochei said the situation does not call for derogatory or uncomplimentary remarks capable of heating up the polity, as the Oshiomhole-led NWC has the capacity to effect amicable resolution.

According to Ochei, “Oshiomhole is a renowned leader whose belief in the rule of law as well as natural justice, equity and good conscience is legendary and as such will ensure that the matter will be resolved satisfactorily either through the judicial process or the internal machinery of the party.”

BREAKING: Pinnick, FIFA President, Infantino, meet in Russia over crisis in Nigerian football [Photos]

…as FIFA names Pinnick match commissioner

Sequel to the sack of the Amaju Pinnick led executive of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) by the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung on Monday, the President of the world football governing body (FIFA), Gianni Infantino on Tuesday met with Pinnick in Russia over the crisis.

The FIFA boss met with Pinnick before the commencement of the ongoing round 16 match between Sweden and Switzerland.

A copy of the match start list sent exclusively to TheNewsGuru.com also showed that the embattled NFF boss was the match commissioner.

Recall that the minister on Monday ordered the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF executive committee to give way to that led by Chris Giwa in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling.

In a statement signed by the minister’s special adviser on media, Nneka Anibeze, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports development directed the Nigeria Football Federation, a parastatal under it, to comply with the judgment of the Supreme Court delivered on April 27, 2018, which restored the orders of the Federal High Court, setting aside the purported election into the Executive Committee of the NFF held on September 30, 2014.

It is expected that the meeting between the two football governing body heads will spare Nigeria from the impending ban by FIFA over the minister’s pronouncement of the Chris Giwa led NFF faction as authentic.

  • BREAKING: More trouble for APC as nPDP laments non-recognition, issues seven-day ultimatum

BREAKING: More trouble for APC as nPDP laments non-recognition, issues seven-day ultimatum

There are more trouble imminent in the already distressed All Progressives Congress [APC], as former leaders of the nPDP [new Peoples Democratic Party] who defected, joined hands with other parties in the merger that led to the formation of APC in 2013 have issued a seven-day ultimatum to the national chairman of the ruling party, demanding an urgent meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that the then newPDP alongside Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) were the parties that were merged together to form APC.

In a letter [obtained by TheNewsGuru] signed by Former national chairman of nPDP Abubakar Kawu Baraje, and its former national secretary Olagunsoye Oyinlola, which was presented to John Odigie-Oyegun and copied to President Buhari and Osinbajo on Wednesday afternoon, the group listed several grievances and demanded an emergency meeting.

The nPDP lamented that their faction of the APC were sidelined in the scheme of things immediately the party took over power in 2015.

Some of the grieviance highlighted by the nPDP include the following:

-In the constitution of the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) the New PDP block was generally sidelined as virtually no position was conceded to it. The only member of FEC that belonged to former New PDP block comes from a State that contributed virtually no vote to the APC in the 2015 presidential elections.
    – There has been no significant patronage and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies such as Chief Executives and Executive Directors of government agencies and parastatals as members of our block of the party continue to helplessly watch as these positions are shared by the erstwhile CPC, ACN, ANPP and even APGA blocks of the party and those who have no party at all.
    – In appointments into boards of various government agencies, very few former New PDP members were patronised. These are however not commensurate with our contributions to the growth and victory of the party.
    – When members of the former New PDP block showed interest in running for the offices of President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, they were subjected to a vicious and relentless political opposition as if they were not legitimate members of the APC family.
    – During the party primaries preparatory to the 2015 General Elections, most of the promises made to sitting members of the National Assembly, who belonged to the former new PDP in terms of a level playing field were reneged upon or observed more in breach.
    April 27, 2018

    Read the letter in full:

    The National Chairman
    All Progressives Congress (APC)
    National Headquarters
    Abuja.
REQUEST FOR REDRESSING OF GRIEVANCES OF THE FORMER NEW PDP BLOCK WITHIN THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC).
We the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who moved over from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to form the APC before the 2015 General Elections in Nigeria are desirous of strengthening our party especially now that new party Congresses have commenced and the Convention and another round of General Elections are imminent. Obviously, this cannot be achieved without addressing fundamental issues which we wish to raise in this letter.
We therefore wish, with due respect, to re-state our expectation then and now that the APC we all laboured to build would be one united, inclusive, cohesive and progressive party devoid of divisions, factions, cleavages and tendencies. We envisioned a political party promoting equal rights for all Nigerians and ensuring rapid and even development across the country. Of course there is no gainsaying the fact that the lofty ideals enumerated above cannot be attained without ensuring justice for party faithfuls and citizens.
    2. Kindly indulge us to offer a brief reminder of the history of events that led to the victory of the APC in the 2015 General Elections and the presidential election in particular. It is an undeniable historical fact that the movement of the former New PDP block to form the APC contributed immensely to the victory of the APC in the elections. The former new PDP included five sitting Governors of Sokoto, Kano, Kwara, Adamawa and Rivers States and former Governors of Kebbi, Gombe, Osun, former Vice President of Nigeria, former acting National Chairman of PDP, sitting Speaker of the House of Representatives, many serving members of the National Assembly and many renowned politicians and PDP Elders. It was a watershed moment in Nigeria’s political History.
    3. Most of these leaders not only DELIVERED their States to the APC at the elections, some of the Governors were also assigned specific responsibilities to ensure that other States were also delivered to the APC in the 2015 elections. The then Governor of Sokoto took charge of Kebbi and the then Governor of Kano State took responsibility for Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa States just to mention a few examples. There were also unprecedented efforts by many stakeholders such as Senator Bukola Saraki, in concert with others, to DELIVER the entire North Central to the APC.
    4. These efforts, contributions and sacrifice were made in spite of the fact that the presidential ticket was taken by the erstwhile Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) blocks of the party. It is a matter for grave concern that His Excellency, Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has never publicly acknowledged our efforts in the face of clear evidence that the total number of votes scored by the APC in States where leaders and members of the then NEW PDP block held sway made the difference.
    5. The stubborn facts are as follows: In Kano State APC scored 1,903,999 in 2015, and in Kwara 302,146. In Sokoto State it scored 671,926, and 374,701 in Adamawa. In Kebbi State, APC had 567,883 votes and 885,988 in Jigawa. It was the same story in Gombe (459,898), Kogi (264,851), and Benue (373,961) votes. These represented significant additions to the APC victory column. Indeed, the influence, activities, momentum and ripple effect generated by the former New PDP block was significant in the victory of APC in the entire elections in the whole country.
    6. At this stage we would chronicle a few grievances which if addressed will lead to a harmonious APC where justice, equity, fairness and peace will reign and enable APC avoid rancour, reinvigorate the pace of national development and face the 2019 General Elections as one united party.
    7. Our grievances include:
    a. In the constitution of the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) the New PDP block was generally sidelined as virtually no position was conceded to it. The only member of FEC that belonged to former New PDP block comes from a State that contributed virtually no vote to the APC in the 2015 presidential elections.
    b. There has been no significant patronage and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies such as Chief Executives and Executive Directors of government agencies and parastatals as members of our block of the party continue to helplessly watch as these positions are shared by the erstwhile CPC, ACN, ANPP and even APGA blocks of the party and those who have no party at all.
    c. In appointments into boards of various government agencies, very few former New PDP members were patronised. These are however not commensurate with our contributions to the growth and victory of the party.
    d. When members of the former New PDP block showed interest in running for the offices of President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, they were subjected to a vicious and relentless political opposition as if they were not legitimate members of the APC family.
    e. During the party primaries preparatory to the 2015 General Elections, most of the promises made to sitting members of the National Assembly, who belonged to the former new PDP in terms of a level playing field were reneged upon or observed more in breach.
    f. There has been general lack of consultation, non recognition and even persecution of former New PDP members and leaders by the party and government. For example, some of our leaders are denied the security cover necessary to visit their constituencies even though they are elected representatives of the people in a government they sacrificed so much for.
    g. Harassment, intimidation and persecution of former New PDP leaders by the government, is still an ongoing affair. We do not want to overstate the obvious by cataloguing names of former new PDP stalwarts that are targets of this political pogrom.
    h. There is inadequate reflection of programme and policy contributions of members of the former New PDP block in the running of the government.
    8. Our belief is that it does not augur well for our party if a section of it feels that it is being treated as outcasts and meddlesome interlopers in the party they rightly belong with the legitimate expectation to be treated with justice both in the running of the party and the government.
    9. Arising from the issues outlined above, among others, we request for an urgent meeting with the Leader of the party, and the Party Executive leadership to find lasting solutions to the issues raised so as to prepare the party as a fighting force to deliver more pungently on its manifesto and face the 2019 General Elections with even greater commitment. The meeting will also enable us to work out modalities to ensure a level playing field for all in the Congresses and Convention of the APC.
    10. Given the constraining factor of available time and in the interest of our great Party, it is strongly advised that the said urgent meeting be held not later than Seven (7) days from the date of the receipt of this letter.
    11. In conclusion, we the members of the former New PDP block of the APC wish to reiterate that this letter is written patriotically with the best of intentions and the good of our party, the APC, and is issued to alert the leadership of the APC and in particular, the leader of our party, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who only recently indicated his intention to seek a second term as President, of grievances that exist within the party with a view to ensuring justice for all members of the APC family regardless of the blocks they came from prior to the formation of the APC.
For and on behalf of the former New PDP Block of APC:
Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje (CON) Former National Chairman (nPDP) Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola Former National Secretary (nPDP)
    CC:
    1. Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR
President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria
    2. Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON
Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Arsenal have recovered from crisis – Arsene Wenger

Arsenal coach,Arsene Wenger says the club have “recovered from crisis” having won their last four games.

Back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and in the Premier League came in a run of four consecutive losses over February and March, with Wenger confirming fans had “hatred” towards his position as manager of the team

Arsenal are now 13 points off the top four with just seven league games remaining, but can still qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League.

They play the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final against CSKA Moscow at the Emirates on Thursday, and Wenger believes his side are out of a “crisis” period.

“We were very disappointed with our result against [Manchester] City,” said Wenger. “It takes time to grieve and to recover.

“But because the mentality in the team is very good, strong and healthy – we’re recovered.

“I think always you judge a team by the way they come out of a crisis. On that front I believe that is very positive on our side.

“There’s some extra pressure on us to do extremely well in this competition but that’s part of being where we are.

“We have to see it in a way it’s an opportunity we want to take and keep the priorities right and of course focus on how well we play together, how we want to play.”

Arsenal have scored nine goals in their last three games in comfortable wins over Stoke, AC Milan and Watford since then, but attendances at the Emirates have dropped.

Wenger has repeatedly been the subject of calls for him to leave from the stands, but he is unconcerned by the prospect of the atmosphere affecting his team’s performance in the first leg against CSKA before heading to Russia.

“I’m not worried about that, the crowd when something is at stake is always behind us,” said Wenger. “What will decide the attitude of the crowd is the quality of our game.

“I’m always concerned when our stadium is not completely full but I don’t think that will be a problem tomorrow, the problem for us is our performance.”

Wenger also hopes Arsenal’s game against CSKA is not impacted by strained relations between UK and Russian governments.

“Honestly nobody knows what is going on and it looks more to be diplomatic relations are a bit complicated,” he said.

“I hope it will not affect both ties, the supporters, the Russians who come here and the English who travel there.”

  • Herdsmen/farmers clashes: Police make U-turn, vows to enforce anti-open grazing laws in affected states

The Nigeria Police Force has stated that it will ensure enforcement of the anti-open grazing laws enacted by the various state governments as a panacea to the recurring clashes between herdsmen and farmers that has led to the wanton destruction of lives and properties.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood, stated this on Friday in an interview with The Punch Newspapers.

Moshood said the police would enforce all the laws as they pertained to the protection of lives and property.

The police spokesperson noted that the civil authorities had the right to issue a directive to the security agencies.

The House of Representatives had on Thursday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to direct security agencies to immediately begin the enforcement of the Open Grazing (Prohibition) Law in Benue State and halt the killings by herdsmen.

The House passed the resolution in Abuja as lawmakers again condemned the latest attacks on villagers in the Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state where 26 more lives were lost on Monday.

It asked the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and heads of other security agencies to implement the anti-open grazing law in Benue State.

When asked whether or not the police had enforced the law on open grazing by the Benue State Government as directed by the members of the House of Representatives, Moshood said, “If they are directing the IG, they have the constitutional right to give any directive to an agency over which they have an oversight. Nobody is denying that. They should be the ones to say whether we have been enforcing the ban or not.

On our part, the police have been enforcing all the laws as they concern the protection of lives and property. What I’m telling you is that the police are bound to enforce all laws (including the ban).

It is the same people who say they are giving a directive that can say whether the police have been enforcing the ban or not.”

The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.

But he had earlier told one of our correspondents that 44 persons had been arrested for violating the anti-open grazing law in Benue.

Owoseni had said that the arrests were made by the military in the course of the operation, which started on February 15, 2018.

He said, “Arrests were made with regards to the non-compliance to the Open Grazing Prohibition Law of Benue State.

Forty-four suspects were arrested by the military in the course of the exercise by the military for violating the law in the state. The suspects have been arraigned in court and their trial is ongoing.”

Besides Benue, Taraba State has made a law that bans open grazing in any part of the state.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had at a northern stakeholders summit on security on February 28, advised state governors to build ranches before banning open grazing.

He had said, “To reduce the incidence of clashes between farmers and herders in Nigeria, state governments should endeavour to establish grazing ranches in their various states before enacting laws to prohibit open rearing and grazing,”

This, he said, would make the law banning open grazing acceptable by the people.

The IGP, on Wednesday, warned governors to desist from pushing anti-open grazing laws in their respective states until they had ranches for livestock in place.

Idris’ comment, which is a reiteration of similar warnings for which he had been criticised in the past, was delivered at a security meeting with northern leaders on Wednesday in Kaduna, according to a police statement.

To reduce the incidence of clashes between farmers and herders in Nigeria, state governments should endeavour to establish grazing ranches in their various states before enacting laws to prohibit open rearing and grazing,” Idris was quoted as saying in an e-mailed statement from the Force Headquarters.

The police chief has been an ardent critic of any legislation that targets herdsmen’s activities across the country, warning that the best approach towards a peaceful resolution of the farmers-herders crisis is to work out the modalities for livestock ranching first.

  • No imminent war, crisis in Nigeria – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed says there is no imminent war or crisis in Nigeria and the country is in competent hands under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Minister stated this during an interactive session with a cross section of Nigerian community and members of staff of the Nigerian Embassy in Madrid, Spain.

The Minister is in Madrid for the signing of Agreement between Nigeria and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) on the hosting of Conference of UNWTO Commission for Africa.

The Conference of the African Ministers of Tourism and global tourism players with the theme “Tourism Statistics, a Catalyst for Development” is scheduled for June 4 to June 6 in Abuja.

Mohammed said that contrary to negative narratives being read in the social media and the internet, there was “absolutely no cause for alarm and the nation is not in any form of imminent war”.

He said, specifically, that the challenge of herders and farmers clashes in the country was neither ethnic nor religious but as a result of global environmental and economic realities.

Mohammed stressed that the development was not new to the country and the government was committed to addressing the challenge.

He said some people were, however, for their personal agenda and gains, trying to bring in religious and ethnic sentiments to what was happening.

“Do not be surprised that the naysayers have invested billions of Naira to promote instability, ethic wrangling and misunderstanding.

“But I want you to put your minds at rest that there is no war in Nigeria, there is no imminent war, there is no ethnic battle or religious conflict

“The Nigeria I left behind is a country where people, irrespective of where they come from, live together in harmony and government is alive to its responsibilities.

“We are not saying that there are no problems at all in Nigeria, there is no country where there is no problem including Spain here.

“A couple of month ago, we know that separatism raised its ugly head here in Spain and the whole world watched the development.

“There is nothing new happening in our country, it is a reflection of our plural values and we will continue to address them,” he said.

Mohammed said that the Administration was on the right path delivering on its electoral promises especially in revamping the economy, tackling insecurity and fighting corruption.

He said that in assessing the performance of the Administration people should do so in the context of what it inherited in 2015 and where the country is now.

“Today our foreign reserves has gone up from 24 billion dollars to 42 billion dollars and this is the highest level in the last four years.

“Inflation has been brought down in the last months.

“Before we came, Treasury Single Account (TSA) was not implemenred and people put money in different accounts, we were losing about N108 billion to bank charges

“Today, I am glad to say that with the implementation of TSA, we save monthly N24 billion from charges and about N120 billion from ghost workers,” he said.

The Minister said that because of the discipline of the administration, it got the country out of recession and the Nigeria stock market had been adjudged one of the best performing in the world.

The minister disclosed that as at December last year, the Federal Government has given about N1.9 trillion as bail out to states.

He said many of the states had been so poorly managed that they could not pay the salaries of their workers which necessitated the intervention of the federal government.

The Minister told the meeting that the Administration’ agricultural revolution is moving Nigeria close to self-sufficiency in many staples, especially rice.

He said the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme had created jobs for 61,352 cooks, and it is providing 6.4million school children in 33,981 schools across 20 states with one meal a day.

Mohammed said the administration inherited power generation of 2690 MW even when over 16 billion dollar had been spent on power reforms.

He said with the efforts of the government, power generation has increased to 7,000 megawatts and the dministration’s is embarking on a massive infrastructural renewal.

Mohammed said that Boko Haram had been massively degraded and the suicide attacks by the hitherto emboldened group were act of defeat and cowardice.

He said the group leader, Abubakar Shekau had to disguise as a woman to escape when the heat was too much for him from the military in Sambisa.

Fielding questions from the audience, the Minister assured that the government would address issues of Diaspora voting, illegal deportation of Nigerians among others.

The host of the event and the new Nigeria Ambassador to Spain, Mrs Susan Folarin thanked the Minister and his entourage for the visit and holding the interactive session.

  • Elections won’t hold in 2019 if herdsmen/farmers’ crisis persist, Bafarawa tells Buhari

A former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, on Friday said that there would be no elections in Nigeria in 2019 if the Federal Government failed to find long-lasting solutions to the recurring herdsmen/farmers crisis that has led to the wanton loss of lives and destruction of properties, especially in Benue State.

Bafarawa made the statement during a condolence visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State at the Government House in Makurdi, the state capital, to commiserate with him and the people of the state over the killings of 73 persons on January 1, 2018, by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Bafarawa said, “Why would there be an election in 2019 when there is no peace? The most important thing you can bring to a society is peace. When you bring peace to them, you have brought life and can then talk about the election.”

Speaking further, Bafarawa said that while it was the duty of the Federal Government to put serious efforts to restore peace in Benue State and other parts of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari must involve other stakeholders, irrespective of political affiliation, to solve the problem.

The former governor thereafter made a cash donation of N10m to support the family of the victims of the January 1 killings.

In his remarks, Ortom thanked Bafarawa for the show of solidarity, maintaining that the herdsmen and farmers crisis was a national problem which needed a national solution by the government at all levels in the country.

BREAKING: At last, Kachikwu meets Buhari over NNPC crisis

After being denied access to hold talks with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, finally meets Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja on Thursday.

The meeting between Buhari and Mr. Kachikwu is slated to at 11:30 a.m, a source in the presidency confirmed to TheNewsGuru.com .

Recall that TheNewsGuru reported two days ago that a memo sent by the minister to the president, complaining about insubordination and alleged corruption by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, was leaked to the media.

In his letter, Mr. Kachikwu urged the president to take urgent action to save the NNPC amid a N9 trillion contract scam allegedly involving Mr. Baru.

Mr. Kachikwu said he found it necessary to call the attention of the president to the wrongdoings because they were capable of hindering progress in the country’s petroleum sector or even reverse recorded strides.

He also said he resorted to writing the memo because of his inability to have a one on one meeting with the president.
The minister is expected to further discuss the allegations with the president at Thursday’s meeting.

  • Biafra: I’ll meet Nnamdi Kanu, other traditional rulers to resolve crisis – Oluwo

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, on Friday said as the father of all Nigerians, he is ready to play his role by meeting with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, and other agitation groups to address some of their demands and restore peace in the troubled region.

The monarch spoke on Friday public lecture and conferment of the Distinguished Service Award on the Chairman of the Oyo State Chapter, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Wunmi Faniran. condemned the spate of violence in the South-East as a result of IPOB agitation, saying that it was vital for parties involved to put the lives of the people and the nation first.

The Oluwo condemned the spate of violence in the South-East as a result of IPOB agitation, insisting that it was vital for parties involved to put the lives of the people and the nation first.

The monarch who once said President Muhammadu Buhari was his son said it was unfortunate that the regional crisis was coming at a time the country was blessed with a “competent President (Muhammadu Buhari)” who was ready to fight corruption that had placed the country backward for many years.

In his words: “As a father of all Nigerians, I’m visiting the Southeast soon to mediate for the sustenance of ‘one Nigeria’ because when elders are in the market, a child’s head shouldn’t drop. I will personally meet the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and some notable traditional rulers and I’m optimistic it (the meeting) will yield peace. It is unfortunate the (IPOB) threat came at a time we have a serious government ready to fight the genocidal disease (corruption) killing this nation. It must be addressed.”

“The best the agitators should be doing is praying for this government and (making) not secession threat. The country has been in mess owing to maladministration. Such has promoted the proliferation of militant syndicates in Nigeria. If the government is responsible, the spate of insurgencies will be decimated.”

Recall that there have been reports circulating in the media that the 17 months old marriage of the Ooni and his beautiful wife Olori Wuraola has crashed.
However, the highly revered Ooni debunked the rumours saying that he and his wife have a happy marriage.
In the words of Comrade Moses Olafare, Director, Media & Public Affairs to Ooni of Ife, “There is no truth to the news, it is unimaginable. We would issue a statement on the matter soon.”
“This is total jungle journalism and whoever writes such should not be regarded as a journalist at all…The palace is not interested in this rumour as there are lots of positive activities happening every minute so we don’t have time to respond to such noise being created by nonentities.” Comrade Moses Olafare said.
