    Nigerian artiste, Johnson Oyindamola also known as Dammy Krane has declared himself as the most consistent artiste of his generation after his name was mentioned among artistes whose careers need urgent revival.

    The singer and three of his colleagues namely Cynthia Morgan, May D and Sean Tizzle were put up for a poll.

    The question says;

    “Whose career would you revive if you could”.

    Reacting to the post, Dammy Krane wrote;

    “Y’all shouldn’t put me in this but I understand, y’all just don’t know the truth, even though I made myself with the Favour of God ( F.O.G ) ,I never had an issue with my label, it is a known fact no artistes in my generation has left their label without having issue with the label except me, swipe for confirmation TheNetng BTW everyone deserves to shine

    Why I didn’t do much for Dammy Krane under my record label – 2Baba

    Nigerian music star and HyperTek record label boss, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2face Idibia, now 2baba, has disclosed that he didn’t do much for Dammy Krane when he signed to his record label.

    Dammy Krane shared a screenshot of the DM sent to him by 2face who opened up that some legal issues he was facing at the time prevented him from doing much for his singer.

    “Dammy u know I tell people that I didn’t do much for you because you made yourself. You have a good charisma and you’re so alive with your movement. I wish I didn’t have all that legal shit when you were in Hypertek”, 2face wrote in the DM.

    Dammy Krane responded by revealing that the message sent to him by 2face inspires him a lot.

    “@official2baba I will continue to celebrate u, King! This message inspires me daily to make sure I do more for everybody I can reach 20Years&ForeverAKing”

  • Again, popular musician, Dammy Krane docked over alleged defamation

    A musician, Johnson Oyindamola, also known as Dammy Krane on Monday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly posting a defamatory message on the internet about Merrybet Gold Ltd.

    The Police arraigned Oyindamola, 27, on a three-count charge of threat to life, defamation and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.

    He, however, pleaded not guilty.

    The Prosecutor, Insp. J. I. Enang, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some others still at large on July 29 at Cool FM in Lagos.

    Enang said the defendant posted a video on the internet accusing the sport betting company of owing him.

    He alleged that the defendant attended a game show sponsored by the company, but lost.

    “The defendant, however demanded some money for appearing on the show, the firm disagreed, insisting that the sum was only for the winners.

    “The musician subsequently breached a contractual agreement with the firm.

    “He also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace by posting an audio and a video message on Cool FM 96.9,” Enang said.

    According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 168 (d), 301 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

    Counsel to the defendant, Mr Adebayo Oniyelu, urged the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms.

    “We humbly apply for the bail of the defendant. Section 35 (5) states that an accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

    “He is a popular musician, if granted bail, he will not jump bail, meanwhile he has been in police custody since Sept. 13,” Oniyelu added.

    The Magistrate, Mrs Folashade Botoku, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.

    Botoku adjourned the case until Oct. 11 for mention.

  • Dammy Krane risks jail as police prosecute singer Monday

    Nigerian singer, Johnson Oyindamola, popularly known as Dammy Krane, risks three years in jail as the Zone 2 Police Command is set to arraign him on Monday.

    The Punch reports that Dammy Krane will be arraigned on three counts before an Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos bordering on threat to life, defamation and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

    According to the document marked B/56/2019, the artiste threatened the lives of staff members of betting company Merrybet Gold Limited on July 25, 2019 and also released a song in which he accused the firm of breach of contract.

    The act is said to be in infringement of sections 301, 412 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

    Dammy Krane was also said to have threatened public peace when he posted an audio and video message on radio in contravention of Section 168(d) of the state’s criminal law.

    The charges read in part, “That you, Johnson Hunga Oyindamola and others at large on the 29th day of July, 2019 at Cool FM in the Lagos magisterial district did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: conduct likely to cause breach of peace and threat to life and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 412 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

    Another statement read, “That you, Johnson Hunga Oyindamola and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did threaten the life of the staff of Merrybet Gold Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 301 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

    According to reports, the singer got into trouble after Merrybet Gold Limited wrote a petition to the police accusing the musician of threats and cyberbullying.

    In a petition titled, ‘Petition against Mr. Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel aka Dammy Krane for false and libellous statement against Merrybet Gold Limited and signed by its lawyer, Nwabueze Anachebe, the betting firm said the musician perpetrated cyberbullying and criminal defamation.

    The musician was said to have attended a game show sponsored by the betting company but lost.

    However, Dammy Krane was said to have demanded some money for appearing on the show but the firm disagreed, insisting that the sum is only given to winners.

    The resentful musician subsequently went on the radio where he accused the betting firm of owing him money and breaching a contractual agreement.

    Back in 2016,the duo of Dammy Krane and Wizkid who were buddies had a rift in the popular Lagos club, Quilox.

    It was reported that the fight ensued because Dammy Krane alleged that Wizkid stole the song, Baba Nla, from him after paying him a visit at home.

    Since then, the stars haven’t been seen collaborating on projects and the animosity towards one another lingered on.

    However , fans of the singer were stunned when Wizkid called out Dammy Krane at his just concluded Lagos concert held on Wednesday 20th of December 2018 at Eko Convention Centre.

    An excited Dammy Krane performed his hit song ‘Amin’ with Wizkid ad-libbing the song with his Afro-pop flavour.

    Towards the end of the performance, Wizkid flowing with the rhythm of the song, prayed for Dammy Krane.

    On reconciling with Wizkid, Krane said: “Wizkid and I went to an event and from there we went out together. It was from there that we became friends again. I have forgiven him because it is just one song and we would still do songs together. We would still do one or two things together but you need to understand that we are all getting to different stages of our lives”, he revealed in a chat with Punch.

    ‘Amin’ singer, Dammy Krane back in 2017 was enmeshed in a credit card fraud that almost endangered his music career. Amazingly, the court struck out charges of credit card forgery, armed conspiracy and grand theft filed against him.
     
    Reminiscing on his experience, the bubbly singer said the crisis prepared him for the next stage of his life.
    “Everything we experience is to learn a lesson. When you are thrown a lemon you make a lemonade out of it. That is my situation right now. God was putting me through that for the next stage of my life”, he told TheNetng.
    Krane was quick to acknowledge the role his mum played during the crisis.
    “My mum was my backbone through my ordeal. She was calm and prayerful .The experience made us closer. She used to be my best friend, now she is my account manager, my everything”.
     
    The singer also noted that though he was scared while the case was still in court, he knew God will not let him go down.
    “ I knew God will let me go down just like that when I am innocent. I knew God was preparing me for something great”.

    Nigerian Afro-pop singer, Dammy Krane has declared that he has forgiven Wizkid.
    Recall that Dammy Krane and Wizkid were once best of friends till their friendship experienced a crack in 2016 after the duo reportedly exchanged blows in the popular Lagos club, Quilox. It was reported that the fight ensued because Dammy Krane alleged that Wizkid stole the song, Baba Nla, from him after paying him a visit at home.
    However in a recent chat with Punch, Krane noted that he has reconciled with him.

    When asked about his relationship with 2face his former label boss, he said: “I have a great relationship with Tuface and I have a learnt a lot from him. He is more like a mentor to me in the industry; I have learnt a lot about humility and hard work from him and he is also a God-fearing person. He taught me how to be a businessman as well.”

    A court in Miami-Dade County, Florida, US, struck out charges of credit card forgery, armed conspiracy and grand theft filed against Dammy Krane in August 2017.

    Afropop singer, Dammy Krane has expressed his dissatisfaction over Orezi’s outburst at Nigerian artistes who imitate his hairstyle.

    Orezi in an Instagram had warned artistes who imitate his hairstyles. He wrote: “And they say the hair is not fine. WARNING – Thou shall not copy especially all you Nigerian artiste”.
