How to remove Tinubu from power in 2027 – PDP Chieftain

Daniel Bwala, a former Spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council has given insights on how Bola Tinubu can be removed as president in 2027.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Bwala to have said a coalition of political parties would be needed preparatory to the 2027 presidential election to oust Tinubu, who has not spent up to a year in office.

Recall Tinubu was sworn into office on May 29 2023 after defeating Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the presidential election of 2023.

According to Bwala, a coalition will swallow up the teething problems political parties in the country are currently faced with to pave the way for a formidable front ahead of the next presidential election.

Bwala, when he featured on Channels TV Politics Today on Tuesday, also spoke on how the influence of Nyesom Wike in the PDP will come to nought ahead of the next elections.

“The truth of the matter is that there will be a coalition of political parties that will be very strong. This is a fact that I know and I don’t want to talk about the details.

“The coalition that is coming will swallow some of the elements that are creating problems in various political parties.

“If you want to remove Tinubu from power, it will never happen by you going to a 9 to 5 type of job. You must work 23 hours and 50 minutes.

“Meaning that you have only 10 minutes to sleep and the 10 minutes you have to sleep is when Tinubu is sleeping.

“Look at what is doing as a strategic action. If you look at his antecedents in Lagos, his method of leadership is that once he takes over government, he makes sure that the oppositions are either obliterated or they are weakened.

“Look at what is happening with NNPP; some elements came out to say they are suspending the presidential candidate of the party. In Labour, you see one Apapa group; they will never allow somebody to rest. Then, in PDP, you see some elements.

“So, he will want to ensure that all these political parties continue to have problems and problems but you see, once there is a coalition of the parties, some of these little people that are giving the headaches in the political parties would have been swallowed up.

“For example, let’s talk about Wike; because once you solve the Wike question in PDP, you will find a solution to all of the problems.

“Wike will come to a point where even in APC, they will become dissatisfied with him. They would have to ask him to either choose to be a rat or be a…there is this animal that is neither a rat nor a bird. They will ask him to choose one because he cannot approbate and reprobate.

“Then secondly, when the political party, PDP organises the next congress where you have new leaders in the national working committee, it will be a paradigm shift.

“So, these things are possibilities but without the coalition of political parties, Tinubu is going to spend the next 8 years for sure,” Bwala said.

Atiku will run for president in 2027 – Bwala

Meanwhile, Bwala confirmed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who will be 81-year-old by Nigeria’s next General Election, will run for president in 2027.

“Atiku Abubakar will run for president. He has the capacity. He has the wisdom. He has the knowledge. He has the energy and the zest and he is a president we never had because to be honest, if there is any politician who understands the private sector very well, it is Atiku Abubakar and our economy can only come alive if there is a private sector led economy,” he said.

Bwala, meanwhile, warned that the quietness of some leaders of the PDP should not be mistaken for foolishness, adding that Atiku has to provide the leadership for the party.

“Majority of them who have allegiance with Wike don’t want to hurt Wike. That is why they are quiet but there are other Governors who are more mature and they are focused on what they are doing and they don’t want to be entangled in the drama.

“But then do not mistake the quietness of some leaders of the party for foolishness. But, Atiku Abubakar has to provide the leadership. The state of the party at the moment means he has to come in and provide leadership for the party,” he said.

Fubara has fallen into a trap, they will remove him as Gov – Bwala

“As for Rivers State, you only need to pray for that Governor. The Governor does not know what is even happening but only time will tell what is really behind what he is doing that are not clear.

“But if he says that is the path he has chosen, you can only wish him well. You cannot govern the State; he is the Governor.

“He says I want to violate the constitution, I want to restore the Speaker that was duly removed because he defected. I want to re-present the budget, I want to break the law. He says he wants to do it, one is a free moral agent, you have to allow him to do that.

“But what I can tell you today is that the Governor of Rivers State has fallen into the trap that they want. It’s just a matter of time, they will remove him as a Governor,” Bwala said.

  • Supreme Court should use Plateau guber case to confirm superiority over Court of Appeal

Supreme Court should use Plateau guber case to confirm superiority over Court of Appeal

Constitutional lawyer, Daniel Bwala has said that the Supreme Court has its job well cut for it in deciding whether Court of Appeal has a right to upturn settled law when it considers the appeal brought by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State against the Appellate Court decision that removed him from office.

He made this disclosure in a chat on Arise Television on Monday, November 27, 2023 Bwala said that the authority of the Supreme Court as the final court in the land has been brought to question on the settled law on pre-election matters as determined by the Court of Appeal over the Plateau election.

While noting that the Court of Appeal decided to throw out pre-election matters in deference to the authority of the apex court in election petitions brought in Benue, Ebonyi and several other jurisdictions, he expressed wonder why the same court took jurisdiction of the issue in Plateau.

    He said:

“This case of Plateau State when it gets to the Supreme Court it would be the case of Supreme Court versus Court of Appeal.

” It has more to do with the sanctity and integrity of that Supreme Court itself because the Supreme Court will have to determine whether that judgment they delivered in the Presidential Election Tribunal is to be carried out by subordinate courts in Nigeria,” Bwala said.

“They made it clear that a decision by a final court is called a settled law. Once a case is not determined by the final court it is not a settled law. But once it is determined by a final court it is cast on stone.

” So, the Supreme Court will have to determine whether the Court of Appeal is above it or it is above the Court of Appeal.”

Noting how the confidence had been eroded in the judiciary by the decisions of some courts, he said:

“The confidence of the people is gradually waning considering the trust they have in the judiciary. How can a court in Ebonyi, a court in Benue and in all other places obey the judgment of the Supreme Court but in Plateau State, the court of Appeal disobeyed the judgment of the Supreme Court regarding matters of pre-election.

“Before the Supreme Court all characters of pre-election were brought, the ones that bothered on double nomination, certificate forgery and even on how somebody emerged in a primary and the Supreme Court maintained the same position and they spoke with vehemence. So, it will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court will speak with the same vehemence.

“In the days of Justice Tobi they never failed to chastise the court below them when the court below them disobeyed the judgment they passed,” he said.

  • June 12: Bwala knocks Tinubu for not recognizing Atiku, Obi

June 12: Bwala knocks Tinubu for not recognizing Atiku, Obi

One of the  spokespersons for the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign, Daniel Bwala, has come hard on president Bola Tinubu for leaving out Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in his Monday Democracy Day speech.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu the winner of the February 25 presidential election, with DP’s Atiku and Obi of the Labour Party came second and third, respectively.

Recall that both Atiku and Obi are still challenging the outcome of the result in court.

However,  Bwala still couldn’t believe that Tinubu couldn’t recognize them on his May 29th broadcast.

“How in the world could you talk about democracy and the fight for democracy in Nigeria without mentioning Atiku Abubakar?” Bwala asked during his Wednesday appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“The President did not mention Atiku Abubakar, and that, to me, is not reflective of the unity posture.”

Asked what his expectations were of Tinubu with regard to the recognition of the former vice president, Bwala held that the day was a celebration of the life and struggles of Chief Moshood “MKO” Abiola.

The annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election was presumably won by Abiola. In 2018, former President Muhammadu Buhari declared the date as the country’s official Democracy Day, no longer May

“You need to know that the person who stepped down for Abiola in the primaries was Atiku Abubakar and the struggle continued,” Bwala said.

“So, I thought that he should be able to extend that olive branch. Even Peter Obi; he ought to have mentioned Peter Obi because Peter Obi, for the first time in the history of Nigeria, represented a move we’ve never had, a third force. We’ve never had a third force.”

According to him, there were previous efforts to form a third force that were not as successful.

Obi’s party however managed to win the presidential election in constituencies considered to be strongholds of his opponents, including Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“Coming at a time when the younger generation said they wanted a new thing, I felt that [Obi’s feat] was contributing to democratic ideals,” the PDP campaign spokesman argued.

“He didn’t say anything about the EndSARS. The EndSARS was a struggle of young people. These are acts and moves that entrench democracy.”

  • Atiku will take over from Tinubu 6 Months after inauguration – Bwala

Atiku will take over from Tinubu 6 Months after inauguration – Bwala

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign council, Daniel Bwala, has said Atiku will take over power from the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, six months after may 29.

Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) was declared as the winner of February 25 presidential election.

He scored a total of 8,794,726 votes, the highest of all the candidates, while Atiku of the PDP came second with a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election.

Bwala while speaking in an interview yesterday with ARISE TV about the petition, was asked what he would say about the accusation by the APC that the PDP has electoral malpractice in the country.

He said, even though he could not entirely dismiss those accusations, PDP had tried to redeem itself by apologising to Nigerians and pledging to do better if given the chance to rule again.

“PDP has over the years admitted that they made so many mistakes. I remember Secondus one time when he became the chairman of the party taking a campaign across the country to tell Nigerians that PDP is sorry. Has APC ever said “We are sorry”?

“This is a party that wants to make lies a statecraft. They announced that the president-elect was traveling on an official visit where he’ll meet with investors, where he’ll do this and that. How many days has he been away? We haven’t seen a picture of him alighting from a plane or investors receiving him.”

Speaking further on his optimism over PDP’s chances of victory in court, he said that after Tinubu is inaugurated on May 29, he will be in office for only six or seven months before he would get sacked and the PDP would take over power.

“When he (Tinubu) becomes president on May 29, he’ll have about six or seven months before he’ll be sacked and then we’ll come and take over the power.”

  • Call for debate with fellow writer, Chimamanda adichie not Datti – Atiku’s aides, Bwala

One of the spokesmen of the  Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala has advised Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, to ask for debate with fellow writer, Chimamanda and not Labour Party, LP, presidential running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Recall that on March 22, in an interview, Datti said the country has no president-elect despite the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) announcing Bola Tinubu as the winner of the election.

According to Datti , Tinubu would be leading an unconstitutional government if sworn into office because the APC candidate “has not met requirements of the law.”

However in his reaction, Bwala said Soyinka was not a politician, hence should challenge Chimamanda not Datti.

Tweeting, Bwala wrote: “Am told Prof. Soyinka asked to debate Datti. No, he should ask to debate Chimamanda Adichie.

“Datti is a politician, Soyinka is not, so it will be an unfair debate.

“But both Soyinka and Chimamanda trade on literature and grammar. #Soyinkadebatechimamanda.

“When he tries Chimamanda, he will understand the phrase ‘nobody has the monopoly of knowledge’. It will certainly be the case of David v Goliath.”

  • PDP crisis: Gov Wike cautioned not to play God

PDP crisis: Gov Wike cautioned not to play God

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has been cautioned not to play God. He was cautioned by Dr Daniel Bwala, one of the spokespersons in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council on Friday.

The caution followed a media chat by Governor Wike, who dropped bombshells on the PDP; the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar; the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu and many others, taking the wrangling in the party to a different dimension.

Reacting, Dr Bwala disclosed that the presidential candidate of the PDP had cautioned his supporters not to respond to the ranting by the Rivers State Governor, stressing that the Governor is one of the pride of the PDP.

“Yeah,” Dr Bwala responded when he was asked if there was a gag for Atiku’s supporters not to respond to the Rivers State Government. Bwala went on to say: “That speaks to the maturity our presidential flagbearer possesses, and continues to pursue as a strategy for reconciliation”.

The spokesperson further disclosed that Atiku, however, did not say his supporters should not talk, but that he directed that “nobody should engage with Wike to the point of insulting him or denigrating him”.

He revealed that “the reason is because negotiations are always open; because the political process, it is not over until it is over. At any given time, even at the eleventh hour, there is still room for reconciliation”.

“The reason why I am here tonight is because at the meeting today, so much was said. So much was said to the point where we have a lot of people who want a reaction and the quietness is sort of suggesting to the people as though the party for all intent and purposes has offended Wike and all the facts as adduced by him are correct.

“Like we have always said, Wike is one of our pride. Wike is PDP through and through. Everything Wike has and he is today is because of PDP. In other words, he is a beneficiary of the party. We are proud that apart from benefiting from the party, he has also demonstrated that he is somebody who believes and is acting out development in the party.

“However, there are so many facts that need to be clarified and we think that it would be necessary [to do so] for the purpose of history and posterity,” Bwala said on Channels TV Politics Today programme on Friday evening after Wike’s bombshells.

Speaking on the alleged betrayal of Governor Wike by Atiku, Ayu and the Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal, Bwala said: “I think that probably only today he is mentioning the individuals he mentioned.

“But, I know in the past he has also mentioned people like the entire governors of the South South when he said his own brothers betrayed him. Before then, he has also said that governors in the South East betrayed him at some points. He has in the past said Dave Umahi who left the party betrayed him. He has said Ben Ayade who left the party to APC also betrayed him.

“It appears to me that everybody around him has betrayed him as long as he doesn’t have his way and that is with great respect to him. Because if I take you back to memory lane, you will agree with me that at least the last three party chairmen he brought them and there were times he had problems with them and he insisted they had to go.

“So, why is it that everybody is betraying you in life? He has recently said even some of the stakeholders in his own State betrayed him. There is virtually nobody who he has not said betrayed him once you disagree with him.

“To us, that is not good for a political party. With respect to the party structure, so much is being said about Iyorchia Ayu as the chairman of the party, I think Nigerians need to know, what is it about Iyorchia Ayu that he has to leave?

“Because if we are going to ponder on what we hear everyday even from the party, there is this wide-held belief that he wants to run in 2027 for the presidency and for him to succeed in that, he has to put a chairman.

“Those who have furnished facts to support it. For example, Peter Obi moved to Labour Party and obidient movement came as a result of the conduct of Governor Wike because Peter Obi was frustrated out of the party in Anambra State by Chris Ubah, owing to the position that was held by Governor Wike as people are saying.

“The whole gamut of power zoning here or there started with Governor Wike. He virtually had everything he wanted. He brought this chairman and when a discussion was being done that power should be zoned, I recall very well that Atiku Abubakar said if the power, if it was going to be zoned, he was inclined that it would be zoned to either South East or North East because these are the two geo-political zones that have not benefitted.

“Then he said if it was ever going to be zoned to the South East, he was not going to run. The movement then was that it should be micro-zoned to the South East among stakeholders from the South East. He frustrated it because he was interested. He influenced the emergence of leaders that sat in committees, whether committees for party positions or committees for elective offices.

“At his behest, a recommendation was made that it should be made open, evidently because he is not from the South East. That lead to the departure of Peter Obi. Otherwise, Peter Obi today, if the zoning thing was followed, Peter Obi or the former SGF would have emerged as the presidential candidate of the party.

“The idea that frustrated Peter Obi out was because there was never going to be an opportunity for the South East. If there was, he could have stayed because he believes in his popularity. When it was thrown open, Atiku decided to participate because if you leave it open, that means everybody has the right to participate.

“During the electioneering process, Governor Wike was overwhelmingly convinced that he was going to win. You will recall he went round the country. On that day, remember what he said. “I am a loyal party member. I will abide by the decision of the party. Whichever way it goes, I will support the party”.

“So, when you talk about betrayal, you also need to look at whether you have betrayed yourself, betrayed the party or betrayed the people. Because a political party is a party for everyone.

“Because he is a Christian I will probably have the luxury of quoting scriptures, otherwise, I would have considered sensibility. The scripture says God gives power to whomsoever He wills. The minute you start play… it is good to be rich and to be stupendously rich and be helpful but the one thing God does not share is when you begin to take His place.

“How do you take the place of God? Where nothing moves except you are in it, nothing moves except you direct it. He talked about equity, fairness and justice. That has been the cliche and the hallmark of his campaign.

“But, in his State, the chairman of the party and the governorship candidate are from the same senatorial district. In his State, the very individual that decided to pick a form to run for Senate when he has not given the approval, what happened to the person? The person was held in custody. In his very State, he bought forms for aspirants.

“The spirit of fairness and equity has been the cliche that has been pushed. The last president in the PDP came from the South. The next president in PDP should come from the North. That is the spirit and intentment of that constitution.

“Talking about the national chairman, there was a committee that was formed to zone. The party’s constitution provides for the national working committee to create committees to deliberate on issues in accordance with the law.

“When this committee was formed, the chairman of this committee was a lose ally to Wike. That committee came up with a recommendation that that should be zoned. Atiku had no impact on that matter.

“When the committee came to deliberate on the zoning of elective offices, remember, the chairman of that committee is also a close ally of Wike. At every material time, that the party took decisions, at least in the last few times that we know, they were decisions that were taken in the believe that Wike should have his way.

“That is why I said it is not good to play God. From the look of things [Wike is playing God] because in how many months we have been now, it is just Wike. The flagbearer has never said anything and has said nobody should insult him.

“This party was formed; the founding fathers of the party; this Iyorchia Ayu and Atiku, they are members of the founding foundations and even if they left, they still had to come back.

“Let me tell you why you can’t play God. Atiku left the party, it survived. Ayu left the party, it survived. If Wike leaves, the party will survive. Obasanjo is not in PDP, it survived. You need to understand and know the limit of your operations and influence,” Bwala argued.

  • PDP: We’ll set up committee to raise funds for campaign soon – Bwala

PDP: We’ll set up committee to raise funds for campaign soon – Bwala

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded plans to set up a committee that will be saddled with the responsibility of raising funds for campaigns.

Daniel Bwala, the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation, made this known on Sunday when addressing newsmen.

Asked what the Party has budgeted for campaigns Bwala said that the party will set up a committee that will raise funds soon.

“How can you determine when to get funds when your structure has not been established? Because the people that will generate the funds and plan for the campaign are in the campaign structure. It is like saying that you are going to do a project; when the project committee has not been established, where will you draw the budget?

“You don’t know because you have to go to primary one before you go to primary two. The primary one is the committee that will think about where to raise funds; anybody who is thinking of raising funds before the committee is trying to present a fait accompli to the committee.

“It (campaign structure and committee) will be coming, hopefully, next week. Yes, the campaign structure.

“The campaign structure is the structure that executes the campaign. If you have a campaign structure, they will form different committees: manifesto committee, finance, legal, and mobilisation committees. So, to start talking about what a committee will think about (funds) before they are constituted is like you write an answer and ask me to work through the question.”

Ruling APC’s inaction adding to worsening insecurity – Atiku campaign spokesperson, Bwala

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate Alhaji  Atiku Abubakar’s campaign spokesman, Daniel Bwala has accused the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) of being responsible for the worsening insecurity situations in the country.

Bwala emphasized that the APC has been responsible due to its inaction to nip banditry and terrorism in the bud.

Bwala made this statement while featuring on a Political program This Morning on Television Continental TVC on Monday morning and it was monitored by TheNewsGuru.com.

He further noted that during PDP’s administration terrorism and banditry were tackled and reduced to the barest minimum,  adding that the present government has even helped give chieftaincy titles to bandits.

When asked to comment on the defection of Shekarau to PDP, the spokesman said that the Kano state politician is a big fish in the state and he will deliver Kano to PDP.

He revealed that the entire North East and North West will vote for PDP because they have experienced so much negativity on the present administration.

Bwala also noted that Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike will remain in PDP and work for the presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

I can never join PDP – Gov. El-Rufai

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said he can never join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); not even his corpse.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Governor El-Rufai was reacting to claims by the spokesperson of PDP’s 2023 presidential campaign, Daniel Bwala when he said this.

Bwala had via Twitter claimed that the former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would soon dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“My attention was drawn to @elrufai laughing at a comment made about me on my past video. Hmm @elrufai is one of the finest we have from the north, I will never join issues with him, especially because I am optimistic he will be with us before the 2023 election,” Bwala wrote.

But reacting, El-Rufai on his official Twitter page said: “Thanks @BwalaDaniel but no, thanks. Never ever, not even my corpse will be found in the vicinities of your new-found political party. I still dey laugh!!! – @elrufai”.

TNG reports Bwala was until recently a member of the APC.

BREAKING: Former APC diehard, Daniel Bwala joins PDP

Mr Daniel Bwala, a former diehard member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has joined the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Mr Bwala, a popular lawyer who recently resigned from the ruling party, said his decision was based on principles and conviction.

Joining the PDP on Friday, Bwala said the party presents a clear vision for one Nigeria, adding that the PDP is the party with a realistic chance of defeating the APC in the 2023 presidential election.

He also opined that the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar is the only candidate with superior experience to lead Nigeria out of the woods.

TNG recalls that the PDP House of Representatives caucus had on Wednesday wooed the former chieftain of the APC to join its fold.

The House Minority Leader, Mr Ndudi Elumelu led the representatives of PDP lawmakers in the green chamber of the National Assembly to Bwala office in Guzape, Abuja.

Elumelu said the visit was the first time the parliamentarians would be visiting a Nigerian to woo him to a party.

TNG reports Bwala was Special Adviser to the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on Legal Matters until he resigned from the APC.
