Senator Ali Ndume, Daniel Bwala exchange hot words

Senator Ali Ndume has claimed that Daniel Bwala, a former critic of President Bola Tinubu, is a failed lawyer who would only be a liability to the Nigerian leader.

Ndume dismissed Bwala’s recent actions, suggesting that he is trying to gain sympathy by aligning himself with the presidency. “I don’t have time for that. It’s politics. In our place, we only play politics.

We don’t play politics of violence,” Ndume stated. “We play politics of the people, and I can tell them that Bwala—Daniel Bwala, not Inuwa Bwala or the many other Bwalas we have who are useful—is only a political liability to the President.”

In response, Daniel Bwala accused Ndume of hypocrisy and spreading falsehoods against him. Bwala claimed that Ndume’s criticism stemmed from his own remarks about the senator’s grandstanding against the President and the National Assembly and his alleged encouragement of violent protests aimed at unseating Tinubu.

“This is a man whose party (APC) has requested his demotion in the National Assembly for conduct unbecoming of a distinguished senator, and his senatorial district is about to declare him ‘persona non grata,’” Bwala said. “I will respond to his insults with evidence shortly.”

Bwala, a legal practitioner faulted the EFCC while accusing them of disregarding the rule of law, describing the recent press conference by the commission’s chairman, Ola Olukayode as a “media trial”.

It would be recalled that the anti-graft agency had accused Bello of allegedly misappropriating the sum of N80 billion and other allegations.

TheNewsGuru.com reports that  EFCC boss, during a media briefing on Tuesday, vowed to resign if he failed to prosecute Bello, whom he accused of evading arrest, detention and prosecution.

Speaking on  ARISE TV morning show,  Bwala described the press conference as a “drama skit”, saying that the commission’s boss was conducting public discussions akin to a courtroom trial which was indirectly a way of giving Bello a chance to escape.

“What happened was like a prosecutor in court doing his opening address in the view of prosecuting the matter. And who was the judge yesterday? it was the pressmen.

“That same privilege, Yahaya Bello does not have to also state his own case. So, we can call it a complete trial by the media.

“This is one of the many reasons why people tend to ask the question, is the commission actually intending to prosecute, or is the commission indirectly giving an opportunity for the accused to escape?” he queried.

  • Tinubu traveled to Europe on medical trip, not working visit as claimed – Atiku’s camp

Tinubu traveled to Europe on medical trip, not working visit as claimed – Atiku’s camp

The camp of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has explained that Nigeria’s president-elect traveled to Europe for medical reasons.

Daniel Bwala on of Atiku’e media aides claimed that  Tinubu’s trip to Europe was more of medical than working visit as claimed.

Bwala said calling Tinubu’s journey a working trip is wrong because he’s not the president yet.

Tweeting, Bwala wrote: “Now they have learned to call the medical follow-up trip a working trip. Hold on; he is not yet the president, so technically, it is wrong to call it a working trip or visit. His media people should learn to humanize him so they do not have to make lies statecraft.

“We have seen the movie before. Whilst PMB’s media people were busy saying the president is on a working trip or visit, PMB keeps saying “I have never been this sick before”. I thought Tinubu’s media aides would learn from that; alas if it didn’t Dey, it didn’t Dey.”

Recall that a statement by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, had said the President-elect will use the opportunity of his trip to Europe to finetune the transition plans, programmes and policy options with key aides without distractions.

Tinubu is also expected to engage with investors and allies to market investment opportunities for the country during his trip.
