Leke Adeboye, one of the sons of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has paid tribute to his older brother, Pastor Dare on his one year death anniversary.

Taking to his Instagram page on Wednesday, May 4, the clergyman shared a post in remembrance of his late brother who passed away exactly one year ago.

Recall that Pastor Dare, who was 42 years old at the time, died in his sleep at his home in Akwa Ibom on May 4, 2021.

Leke shared a graphically curated photo of his late brother and wrote, “Forever in our hearts”.

The 42-year-old died in his sleep at his home in Akwa Ibom where he resides with his family on May 4, 2021.

Shortly after his death, Leke Adeboye penned an emotional tribute to his late brother, Dare Adeboye.

Leke ahead of his birthday reflects on how his brother would have celebrated him if he was still alive. According to him, it was a tradition to give each other gifts on their birthdays, May and June respectively.

Sharing a photo of his late brother, Leke revealed the clergyman still had his fist clenched like he was holding a mic, as he lay lifeless.

“Your fist was still clenched like you were holding a mic. But this time with your eyes closed and smiling. It’s my birthday on May 20. You would have sent me a cash gift as a little brother. And I would have retaliated on June 9.

I still will, as you have given me a gift of being my brother. Thank you for all the experiences. The goods, the grillings and the godly,” he wrote.

General Overseer of RCCG talks about text message that stopped him from mourning son’s death

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has narrated how a text message made him not to mourn the death of his son, Dare, last May.

He said the text message was sent by one of his spiritual daughters and it lifted him from “deep sorrow” caused by Dare’s death.

The octogenarian preacher said the text message turned the tide following the death of his 42-year-old son in 2021, adding that God loves him despite the loss of his son.

Adeboye spoke at the international headquarters of the church along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the April 2022 Holy Ghost Service of the church.

Dare, the third child of 80-year-old Adeboye, died on May 4, 2021 in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family. Married to Temiloluwa, the deceased was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35 before his death and father to three daughters.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Signs and Wonders’, with Bible text from Isaiah 8:18 on Friday night, the elder Adeboye said children are proofs that God is a Miracle Worker, a Covenant-Keeper, a Burden-Bearer and the Defence of the Defenceless.

According to him, God is a Carrier, who carries burden, sorrow and problems provided one has the disposition of a child.

Adeboye said, “When I lost my son last year (2021), and I was deeply in sorrow, I got a text (message) from one of my (spiritual) daughters that suddenly turned the tide. What she wrote was simply this: Daddy, let God carry you.”

“I’ve always said it and when I said it, people argue with me. God loves me more than anybody else. Do you agree? I know you won’t agree. When I tell you that God loves me more than anybody else; what do you reply?” he asked thousands of worshippers at the programme who also replied individually that God loves them more than any other person.’’

“Don’t cry for my son” – Watch Pastor Adeboye’s message at son’s funeral

Pastor Dare Adeboye, late son of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was buried on Tuesday.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Pastor Adeboye, during the farewell service for Dare, urged members of the church not to cry for the deceased.

“Cry if you wish but don’t cry for pastor Dee because he is resting in glory. Cry because you are the one still fighting the battle. Anyone who has caught a glimpse of heaven will not be crying for pastor Dee because there is no comparison between heaven and earth. But then fight courageously because, on the resurrection morning, we shall meet again.

“I want you to know that God who knows the end from the beginning knew long before the foundations of the world that what has happened was going to happen. And because his word is forever settled, he said all things work together for good to them that love God. We may not understand now, but what has happened is going to work out for our good.

“In one of his sermons, Dare himself said God does not need a visa to pay you a visit or to do whatever he wants to do in your life.

“And I have told you before, death is not a function of age. Young people die, old people die, children die. And it is not about how long you live it is how well. Even Jesus Christ himself died at the age of 33. John the Baptist never lived to be 34 and yet he was the greatest.

“We have lost a champion. You would agree with me on that. Let us consider him a seed that we have sown and let’s get ready for a special harvest. I want us to join our forces together and produce many champions like Damilare that would go round the whole world and shake the world for the Lord Jesus. That is how we can honour his memory,” Pastor Adeboye said.

TNG reports the farewell service was held at the Youth Centre, Redemption Camp, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In attendance at the farewell service were Dare’s wife, Temiloluwa; his three daughters; his brother, Leke Adeboye, and other siblings.

Also, the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners’ Chapel, David Oyedepo; his wife, Faith; as well as his son, Pastor David Oyedepo Jr. attended the farewell service.

EXCLUSIVE: Adeboye speaks openly about son’s death at last, says it’s a knockout blow

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has explained that the shocking demise of his son, Oluwadamilare Adeboye is like a knockout blow to him.

Recall that TheNewsGuru.com, TNG had exclusively reported that Pastor Dare died in Akwa Ibom on Tuesday without any known medical challenges.

How Pastor Adeboye's look alike son, Dare died

The revered pastor who spoke extensively on Monday about Dare’s death said despite how much God revealed past and present happenings around the world to him, He (God) deliberately kept Dare’s impending death from him. He said he had no inkling whatsoever that he (Dare) was going to die considering how well he handled all the assignments given to him.

“Without any doubt this is a big blow, a very heavy blow. As a former boxer I can tell you that the boxer never sees the blow that knocks him down. My son’s death caught me unawares. God never revealed it to me that is why it was so unexpected and devastating,” Adeboye said.

The clergy further stated that when he inquired from God after his son’s passing, God told him if he (Adeboye) had a fore knowledge of Dare’s death, he (Adeboye) would have stopped Him (God) from taking him (Dare) away.

My son died the way I would love to die, peacefully

Pastor Adeboye further stated that despite how painful Dare’s early exit was, he (Adeboye) took consolation in the fact that he (Dare) died peacefully while doing the Lord’s work. He said when he finishes his earthly assignment, he (Adeboye) would love to depart this world in a peaceful manner his son did.

“Dare died the way I would want to die. He (Dare) had been busy organizing a very successful youth convention in Akwa Ibom after which he told people around him that he wants to go and rest and that nobody should disturb him. He slept and never woke up”.

This a very hard exam for me

The well respected General Overseer did not however fail to emphasize how difficult processing the death of his son was. He said it was a difficult exam but God must have scored him high because of how calm he took it.

TNG reports that the cleric whom many thought would be grieving shocked the world on Thursday when he ministered virtually to millions of the church’s congregation in his usual calm and collected manner. His wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye did same on Friday during the monthly Holy Ghost Congress.

“Death has surprised me. This is a very hard exam. I believe I have passed this tough exam before God. The greater the exam, the greater the reward. In March God spoke to me about a New season, about promotion, and that there will be rewards. The Higher you go, the harder the exams and greater are the rewards. This has been a very hard exam. This was a knockout blow. When I was a boxer, my coach taught me that when a blow knocks you down and you hit the floor; you shouldn’t rush to get up immediately; that you should let the referee count at least till 8; use that time to analyze what happened, which is what I have done since Dare’s passing.

Torrents of tributes, condolences from all over the world

As expected condolence messages have been pouring in for the cleric all over the world. President Muhammadu Buhari; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (an ordained pastor of RCCG) and majority of the 36 governors have either visited the cleric or sent a condolence message.

Religious bodies, Christian and Muslim clerics including the Sultan of Sokoto His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III have also either visited or called to commiserate with him.

His international colleagues and admirers have also sent comforting messages.

[PROFILE] Why Pastor Adeboye fondly calls late son, Dare ‘first miracle child’

It is longer news that Oluwadamilare Adeboye, the fourth biological child of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye is dead.

TheNewsGuru.com, TNG reported exclusively last Thursday that Pastor Dare or Pastor Dee (as he was popularly called) died in his sleep on Tuesday in Akwa Ibom where he was based till death.

TNG gathered that Dare, whom his dad, Pastor Adeboye last year described as his first miracle child would have been 43 in June.

The respected clergy while celebrating his son’s birthday said God put the devil to shame 42 years ago when Dare was born.

He prayed for the celebrant and also prayed that those seeking a miracle from God will receive it.

His post on Facebook read: “Happy birthday to my son Pst Dee prayers on your 42.

“Our first miracle child. We pray that God will keep his miraculous working power in your life and all those who needs a miracle today, will use you as a point of contact for their own in JESUS name. (Amen) love from Dad, Mom and the whole Adeboye dynasty.”

Meanwhile, findings by TNG revealed that Pastor Dee’s parents; Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye called Dare their first miracle baby because of the divine circumstances surrounding his birth.

According to a profile of the late Dare cited by TNG, his (Dare’s) birth was miraculous because was his parents’ previous children had been born through caesarean section and the couple had been advised by the doctors not to have any more children.

The doctors advised termination, as they had predicted that it would be a choice between mother and child. Their prediction was however wrong because, amazingly both mother and child survived and even more miraculously, it was a natural birth. Thus, he became their first miracle baby.

Meanwhile tributes and consolation messages have been pouring in for the Adeboye’s family all over the world since the death of their son became public knowledge.

The family in statement confirming his death said his burial rites will commence with a special service in City of David Youth Church Eket, Akwa Ibom where he officiated last before his death followed by a farewell service on Tuesday at Redemption Camp.

BIOGRAPHY OF PASTOR OLUWADAMILARE TEMITAYO ADEBOYE

Oluwadamilare Temitayo Adeboye was born as the fourth child into the family of Pastor (then Dr.) Enoch Adeboye and Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye on June 9th, 1978. His was a miraculous birth as their previous children had been born through caesarean section and the couple had been advised by the doctors not to have any more children. The doctors advised termination, as they had predicted that it would be a choice between mother and child. Their prediction was however wrong because, amazingly both mother and child survived and even more miraculously, it was a natural birth. Thus, he became their first miracle baby.

His earliest years were spent in Surulere where his parents lived before they relocated to Mushin and Ebute Metta, when his father became the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). A natural leader and loyal friend, he had many admirers from his childhood. His best friend then and till his passing was Emmanuel Adewale, one of the grandsons of the founder of the mission, Pa Josiah Akindayomi.

The Adeboyes knew the importance of proper education as they were in that field themselves. They ensured that all their children got top-quality education, and Damilare was not an exception. He started his education at Christ the Redeemer’s Nursery and Primary School and then went on to The Staff School, University of Lagos, Akoka. After completing his primary school education, he commenced his secondary education at Command Secondary School, Ibadan. It was here his excellent work ethic and military discipline were forged.

These sterling attributes coupled with the solid Christian home training led to the emergence of his leadership qualities, and he was made ‘Head of House’ of Purple House.
Dare later on relocated to the United Kingdom to continue his learning in high school where his leadership streak continued to be developed as he would later be appointed Head Boy of Mayfield College, becoming the first person of colour ever to be appointed to that position. Damilare went on to get his bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Central England, (now Birmingham City University) and subsequently a Master’s Degree in Theology from the Redeemed Christian Bible College.
Dare was very industrious even from an early age. His enjoyment of high-performance cars later turned into a business while he was still school.
Dare met Jesus Christ at a tender age and worked fervently for the Kingdom. He became a parish pastor in RCCG in the UK at the young age of 23, pastoring at RCCG House of Praise, Birmingham, UK. Due to the tremendous growth his parish recorded, his commitment, submission to authority and excellence, he rose swiftly up the ranks to become a Zonal Pastor prior relocating to Nigeria.

On arrival in Nigeria in 2009 and now full time in the ministry, he was posted to Kaduna State and then with his young family to Zaria before returning to Kaduna (the State Capital), where he pastored Next Level Parish, now the provincial headquarters for Youth Province 6. Despite the sudden change in his environment, he immediately applied himself to the work of the Kingdom and like every other task he had been assigned; it greatly prospered in his hand. His success led to even more kingdom assignments and greater responsibilities, especially in the youth ministry of RCCG.
He was then promoted along with six others to the new role of Youth Evangelist in the mission. They later became twelve and he demonstrated his leadership acumen serving as the Coordinator of the Youth Evangelists. He was appointed Youth Evangelist, North Central – covering all RCCG youths, RCFs, RCCFs in states of Niger, Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Plateau, Nassarawa, and also the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja where he had other responsibilities such as:
    Pioneer Youth Evangelist in RCCG
    Youth Evangelist, North Central
    Coordinator, Youth Evangelists
    National Director of Programmes, NYAYA
International Director of Programmes, Church Planting and Evangelism, YAYA, RCCG
Chairman Organizing Committee, Northern Zone, Abuja SHIFT
Chairman Organizing Committee, Marathon Messiah’s Praise
Chairman Organizing Committee, Annual Youth Convention, RCCG
These positions enabled him to comprehend the landscape and significance of young people across the globe and how to increase the Church’s impact in the world as he travelled to over 50 countries preaching the gospel without apology or reserve, especially to the youth, young adults and teenagers. Fondly called ‘PD’ and ‘Pastor Dee’ by the youth, he was indeed in tune with the next generation of believers.
There would later be the creation of a new structure in RCCG known as Youth Provinces of which six were created. Pastor Dee was appointed to oversee Youth Province 5, then under Region 14, with headquarters at City of David, Eket, Akwa Ibom State and parishes spread across the entire South South and South East states of Nigeria – Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, Delta, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Imo and Abia.
In his capacity as the Pastor in Charge of Youth Province 5, he organised numerous revival and evangelistic programmes that catalysed the growth and expansion of the province some of which included the Annual Provincial Convention in April, the Dominion Conference in June amongst others. These programmes featured notable Word and Worship ministers within and outside RCCG.
Further restructuring in the mission led to the creation of a new Youth Region, Region 35, with headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, comprising all the Youth Provinces which had now increased to 11. It is noteworthy that under Pastor Dee’s watch, a new province (Youth Province 10) was birthed from Youth Province 5. The region would be headed by the Intercontinental Youth Pastor and he would be assisted by three Assistant Regional Pastors, one of whom was Pastor Dare Adeboye.

A man well ahead of his time, he was indeed a pacesetter, trail blazer, bridge builder, peace maker, leader par excellence and arguably one of the most charismatic and influential pastors RCCG has produced. He was a fine blend of excellence, sacrifice, transparency, maturity, accountability, discipline, discipleship, humility, loyalty, genuine love, friendship and marital fidelity.

Pastor Dare Adeboye, a seed himself, was the International Ambassador for the Pastors’ Seed Family (PSF). He helped set up, encourage and empower PSF in many nations while also playing the role of an advisor, counsellor and big brother.
His military training never left him as he joined the RCCG Chaplaincy Corps, rising to the rank of Brigadier General.

While in the United Kingdom, he met his heartthrob and jewel of inestimable value, Temiloluwa, who was one of his parishioners at that time and the lovebirds got married in Nigeria on December 28, 2008. She was his sister, lover, encourager and partner paper writings in family and ministry. They have three wonderful daughters, Oluwatishe, Ireoluwa and Araoluwa.

PD was an obedient son, loyal brother, loving husband, doting father and faithful shepherd.
He lived entirely for the Lord and His work, dedicating his life to educating and inspiring young people on how to capitalise on and maximise their faith in any environment they find themselves.

Pastor Dee after hosting an awesome provincial convention themed, “The Sceptre of Favour,” went to be with the Lord on the 4th of May 2021 at the age of 42. Although brief here on earth, he lived a faithful and fruitful life.

He is survived by his parents Pastor & Pastor (Mrs) Adeboye; siblings, Adeolu and Temitope; Adebolugbe and Akin, and Oluwagbemileke and Titilope; wife, Temiloluwa; children, Oluwatishe, Ireoluwa and Araoluwa; and numerous loved ones.

‘God gives and takes’, Pastor Adeboye says

General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Friday admonished everyone to be thankful at all times because God gives and takes when He pleases, in a veiled reference to the demise of his son, Dare Adeboye.

TheNewsGuru.com, TNG had on Thursday exclusively reported how Dare died in his sleep on Tuesday, May 4 in Eket, Akwa-Ibom where he was pastoring a church.

The senior Adeboye who preached at the May 2021 edition of the church’s Holy Ghost service, urged everyone to always say ‘It is well’ even in unpleasant situations rather than ‘blame and question God’.

TNG reports that Adeboye spoke from the studio of the church’s station – DOVE Media – alongside few officials including his wife, Folu Adeboye, while members of the church gathered at the auditorium along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

He said: “Whatever we have is given to us by God, be it wealth, wife, husband, children e.t.c and if it got taken away by God, all we can do is give God glory for actually giving us the privilege to enjoy those wealth or kids temporarily and it is not for us to complain, blame and question God.”

With biblical reference to Ezekiel 24:16, he said, “God took away Ezekiel’s wife and asked him not to mourn over her”.

“What we see as sorrows might be joy in the sight of God, I mean His ways and thoughts are not the same with ours, we shouldn’t forget that both good and bad happen at God’s command. (Lamentations 3:38).

“Finally in all things let’s learn to say thank you father and It is well. God bless all of you in Jesus’ name,” Adeboye said.

The RCCG overseer further stated that peace is one of the blessings only God can give saying “There is a peace that passes human understanding. It is only God that can give that peace. I thank God that I have that peace.”

Adeboye also allayed fears on over possibility of a third wave of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria, saying it was due to the prayers of Christians that COVID-19 did not take a detrimental dimension.

“Don’t listen to any person who says it is by their own wisdom that coronavirus is now subdued in Nigeria. It is because you prayed. You asked God for mercy, and God heard and in the mighty name of Jesus, there will be no third wave.

“But, I want to encourage you that you need to pray again. We have problems of many kinds in Nigeria so very soon; you might be summoned to pray again.

“We need to pray against all the problems we are facing, and God will answer when we pray,” Adeboye said.
