Police in Oyo State have arrested a grandfather for seizing his daughter’s day-old baby in Oyo town and selling the same to a baby factory in Abia for N700,000.

Five accomplices of the grandfather were arrested at the baby factory.

Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mr Adebola Hamzat, told newsmen in Ibadan on Saturday that the grandfather took the baby girl from her teenage mother, Sarah Chukwuka on July 10.

He was later arrested at his hideout in Ibafo, Ogun.

“The suspect who identified himself as the biological father of the teenage mother of the day-old baby girl confessed to the crime.

“He explained how he took the baby from the mother pretending that he would hand over the baby over to a caregiver.

“The suspect also explained how he moved the baby to Abia where he sold her to the owner of the baby factory at Obehi in Okwa West Local Government Area of the state for N700,000.

“A raid on the baby factory led to the arrest of a female suspect identified as Bunmi and four other accomplices,’’ Hamzat said.

He said a bundle of new birth certificates and some equipment used in labour rooms were equally recovered from the factory.

The police commissioner said the five additional suspects were unable to give any satisfactory explanation about the parentage of the babies recovered from the factory.

Hamzat also paraded six other suspects arrested for robbery, kidnapping and cultism and car theft.

He said the suspects robbed a victim of expensive mobile phones, laptops, jewellery and some other valuable items worth millions of Naira in Ibadan while armed with machetes, jack knives and other dangerous weapons.

Hamzat said the suspects also confessed to series of previous criminal activities they had masterminded at different locations in the Oyo State capital.

  • How pastor allegedly defiled Church member’s 17-year old daughter

How pastor allegedly defiled Church member’s 17-year old daughter

A medical doctor, Mrs Maria Fadaka, on Monday told an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, how a pastor, Chris Mcdouglas, allegedly defiled a 17-year-old daughter of a member of his Church.

Mcdouglas, a Pastor at Peculiar Generation Assembly Church, Lagos, is facing a nine-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration.

    He, however, pleaded not guilty.

Fadaka is a public health officer at Mirabel Medical Centre, (a sexual assault referral centre),  Lagos State  University Teaching Hospital, (LASUTH).

She was led into evidence by the state Director of Public Prosecution, Dr. Babajide Martins.

The medical doctor told the court that the survivor, (name withheld)  presented herself for medical examination on May 12, 2020, a week after the last alleged sexual intercourse with the defendant.

According to her, “The survivor came to Mirabel Centre on May 12, 2020 and complained of rape by her pastor.

“The survivor said the last sex escapade occurred about a month prior to her presentation at the centre.

“The result of the medical examination showed forceful and repeated vagina penetration,” she said.

A copy of the medical report of the witness, dated  May 14, 2020, was admitted into evidence following no abjection from defence.

While being cross-examined by defence counsel, Mr Suleiman Salami, the witness told the court that she was an employee of LASUTH and that it was possible for someone who has had consensual sex to have repeated vagina penetration.

The witness said she only reviewed the history of the survivor which was written by the counselor at the centre and captured it in her report.

The doctor added that the survivor did not mention to her that she was defiled through the anus and no DNA test was carried out to ascertain that the defendant committed the alleged offences.

The prosecution informed the court that it would be closing its case against the defendant after the witness gave her testimony.

The defence counsel, however, informed the court of filing a no case submission.

“We shall serve the prosecution necessary documents my lord,” Salami said.

Justice Ramon Oshodi adjourned the case until April 27 for filing and adoption of no case submission by defence.

The mother of the survivor (name withheld) and one Insp Akikuowo Omiere, had on Jan. 9, testified against the embattled pastor in the ongoing trial.

Man impregnates 19-year-old daughter in Ogun

The police command in Ogun says it has arrested a 43-year-old man, Abiodun Oladapo, for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old daughter (name withheld).

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Saturday.

Oyeyemi noted that the suspect was arrested on Friday following a complain lodged at Mowe divisional headquarters by one Oluwatoyin Idowu.

According to Oyeyemi, Idowu who reported that her son, Michael Idowu, was wrongly accused of impregnating the victim, and that she has properly interrogated her son and discovered that the victim was not saying the truth.

Oyeyemi explained that the victim, already five months pregnant, was invited, saying she confided in the police that though Michael Idowu slept with her in December 2022, it was her father who was responsible for her pregnancy.

“She stated further that her father had been sleeping with her since February 2022 with threat to kill her if she informed anybody about it.

“According to the victim, when it was discovered that she was pregnant, her father asked her to lie against Michael Idowu of being responsible for the pregnancy.

“Upon her confession, the DPO Mowe Division, SP Folake Afeniforo, detailed detectives to go after the randy father, and he was subsequently arrested.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but blamed it on the devil,” he said.

Oyeyemi added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect who had long been separated with the victim’s mother, took custody of the girl when her mother remarried and they had been living together since then.

Meanwhile, the Ogun Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, had directed that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.

  • Fresh details emerge about ex-Skye Bank chairman, Tunde Ayeni’s paternity saga

Fresh details emerge about ex-Skye Bank chairman, Tunde Ayeni’s paternity saga

Fresh details have emerged in the ongoing paternity saga between the former chairman of defunct Skye Bank, Tunde Ayeni, and a female lawyer in Abuja identified as Adaobi Alagwu.

According to reports, Adaobi, who is 30 years old, was a classmate of the businessman’s daughter.

Ayeni had last week publicly denied being the father of the lawyer’s baby.

“To continue to spread this unfounded tale is not only unfair to our friend, but also an embarrassment to the lady who knows the father of her baby. Tunde has got nothing to do with this.

“In 2019, businessman Tunde Ayeni met and dated Ada briefly, and being a perfect gentleman he had presumed her to be a decent and respectable lady, one who can be considered for future prospects should the possibility arise. But alas! A Leopard cannot hide its spot for too long. Realising that he could not cope with her numerous escapades and being a highly responsible individual, He called off the relationship at once within just a matter of months.

“Having ended the relationship with Ada, Mr. Tunde Ayeni moved on with his life since 2019 and had put all the unpleasant experience in the past. It came as a rude shock and is highly traumatising, the recent rumor gaining grounds within the FCT of a paternity row between Ada and Tunde,” a statement by his media team had read.

In a new twist, SaharaReporters confirmed Ayeni as the father of the baby according to sources familiar with the duo’s relationship.

“Isn’t it funny that Tunde Ayeni is in a pregnancy dispute with a 30 years old girl, younger than his first and only daughter,” a relative of Adaobi said.

He described Ayeni’s initial statement as a panic move and an attempt to shut Adaobi up because “he suddenly realised his folly and the lifetime pain this has brought on his long suffering wife and children. Not only is Adaobi Alagwu as young as his daughter, she was in fact in the same class as his daughter.

“He dated and flaunted her openly and with no regard for his family and friends then. He gifted his building, right next to a supposedly serious business entity of his (address withheld) to her out of fear he might lose her.

“He gifted her the house she lives in Lakeview in Abuja, and purchased a choice property for her mother to live in. This act of his drove his daughter to shame. Whilst his daughter was struggling, he set up Adaobi’s chambers. Her chamber is at 36, Birao Street, Wuse 2, back of AP Plaza, off Adetokunbo Ademola Street in Abuja.

“He also gifted her a multi-million Naira Range Rover from his fleet and was constantly at her office even in the full glare of his hardworking staff next block.

“Currently, Ayeni just pretends he is a rich man in billions but all he really does is to struggle for positions with real politicians as he’s currently doing with the Atiku campaign. He’s battling tooth and nail to secure his place with Atiku so as to be the one all funds would be kept with.

“In the last six years where he has spent most of his time chasing Adaobi, his business has suffered. Ayeni has been desperately appearing in all Atiku’s pictures in order to compromise people and make them believe he is very important in Atiku’s campaign.”

Another source described Adaobi as a temperamental lady.

According to her, Ayeni broke the “unspoken gentleman code” with his long time bosom friend, Greg Uanseru.

“She’s not different from Ayeni, she was warned against Ayeni. She’s so mean; she shouts, abuses all the staff at will and controls their actions. It was Ayeni’s bosom friend, Greg Uanseru that we know with aunty Ada before. Greg it was, who was playing and fiddling with her before Ayeni snatched her from him by outspending Greg and all others.

According to the source, the lawyer had also vowed to drag the businessman through the mud until he took full responsibility for the baby girl.

“She is ready to drag him through the mud if he continues to deny the paternity of her daughter. She said he was the one who encouraged her to get pregnant and many witnesses can attest to it. According to her, early last year, she was a constant face at his Solween house as she lived with him in his Rhine street address.

“Ada also told us that many times in the past, she had actually walked out of the relationship with Ayeni only for him to run to her mother and other family members on bended knees to beg.”

Conte reveals Tottenham player that can marry his daughter

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has disclosed that Heung-min Son is the kind of man he could allow to marry his daughter.

Son, who was below his best in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, was furious after he was substituted in the second half.

“For me, Sonny will always be a nut in my team, in my ambition of football.”

  • How ‘bishop’ defiled 6-year-old daughter after giving her blood tonic

How ‘bishop’ defiled 6-year-old daughter after giving her blood tonic

A social worker, Mrs Rasheedat Sanusi, on Wednesday told an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court how a `bishop’, Felix Okon, allegedly defiled his 16-year-old daughter and another minor.

Sanusi testified at the commencement of Okon’s trial on a two-count charge of defilement.

Led in evidence by state counsel, Mr Peter Owolabani, Sanusi said that she had served Lagos State Government for 20 years as a social worker.

According to her, she is currently serving at the state’s Education District One, Agege.

The social worker said that Okon’s daughter told her that Okon had been having sexual intercourse with her since August 2019 when she was on a long vacation from school.

The witness also testified that the defendant ran a church at his residence.

She told the court that the other underage, also allegedly defiled by Okon, was a daughter of a member of the church, who also resided in the premises.

“She said it started on a particular night her father called her into his room and gave her a hot drink. After some minutes, he gave her blood tonic.

“She said she became weak thereafter, and he told her to lie down on his bed.

“She said she slept off, and at midnight, she noticed that her father was having sex with her.

“She said she wanted to scream and she could not push him off her. After that, he told her to go and sleep on a mat in the bedroom,” Sanusi said.

The witness testified that Okon’s daughter told her that later, when her father switched on the bedroom light, she noticed that the other minor, aged 14, was on her father’s bed.

“On their way to school, the daughter asked the other girl what she was doing on her father’s bed, and she revealed to her that her father had been sexually assaulting her since May 2018.

“The sexual abuse continued until January 2020 when the case was reported to their school counsellor,” the witness said.

She said that the school counsellor also reported the case to her office on Jan. 30, 2020.

“A case of sexual abuse was reported at the Education District One, Agege, Lagos, by the survivor’s school counsellor, who told our office that two girls in her school were sexually abused by Bishop Felix Okon,” she said.

The social worker said that immediately she received the report, she visited the school, interviewed the girls separately and made a report to the Gowon Estate Police Station.

She said that the defendant was consequently arrested.

Sanusi said the case was transferred to the Gender Unit of the Ikeja Police Command.

Defence counsel, Mr A. C. Maduemezia, during cross-examination of the witness, however, told the court that her evidence was hearsay.

“My lord, what she has told the court is hearsay. She is just saying what she was told,” he said.

Justice Abiola Soladoye adjourned the case until May 9 for continuation of trial.

Okon is facing a two-count charge of defilement, contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

According to prosecution, Okon defiled his daughter and the 14-year-old, at his residence on Gowon Estate, Ipaja, Lagos State.
