  • Ooni was absentee father, didn’t raise daughter as claimed — Princess Adeola’s mother alleges

Ooni was absentee father, didn’t raise daughter as claimed — Princess Adeola’s mother alleges

Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi did not raise his daughter Princess Adeola Ogunwusi as a single father, her mother Omolara Olatubosun has claimed.

Oba Ogunwusi had on social media recalled how he suffered to raise his daughter which he had at age 19. The post was in celebration of her birthday on October 18, 2021.

However, Olatubosun said in a statement that Oba Ogunwusi was not present in the child’s life in the first 10 years.

She said, “Yeye Ogunwusi was never present in Adeola’s life for the first ten years of her growing up which makes the ‘single father’ narrative shocking, annoying and disrespectful to hear by all who know the truth of the story. I, Omolara, took care of my daughter physically, financially and emotionally, with the moral support of my mother and my siblings.

“I was a pregnant teen, but he was nowhere to be found, and I bore the responsibilities for our child, and paid the physical and social cost of raising her alone in my mom’s house.

“Yeye Ogunwusi saw Adeola for only five minutes at the hospital when she was born. The next time he saw her was when she was already four years old and ten years old respectively.

“I got NO monetary or material support from him or ANYONE while raising my child. I could not have, because he was also just finding his way in the world.

“Adeola started spending holidays with Yeye Ogunwusi and his then wife (Bukola Bombata) in Lagos when she was thirteen in 2007, and started living with them when she was fifteen in 2009. This was when he began any financial and personal involvement in her life at all.”

Tubosun said she kept mum about it all this time because of her daughter, adding that she had also reached out to him privately “to stop repeating the lie that he ‘raised my daughter as a single parent since she was born.’”

She dared the monarch to post pictures of him and Princess Adeola or the receipt of any expense he bore on her before she clocked 10.

“If Yeye Ogunwusi is proud of the daughter we have raised, he can say so without any attempt to minimize or denigrate the very foundation on which he’s now attempting to build, and from which he cowardly fled when the going was tough,” she said.

  • Again, Danish murder suspect denies complicity, narrates how he woke up to find wife, daughter dead

Again, Danish murder suspect denies complicity, narrates how he woke up to find wife, daughter dead

A Danish national, Peter Nielsen, accused of killing his Nigerian wife and daughter has told a Lagos High Court that he woke up in the morning and found the victims dead on the kitchen floor.

Nielsen stated this on Tuesday during the resumption of his trial, adding that he watched a football match together with his wife and was intimate with her a night before her death.

“I kissed my wife and daughter and went back to sleep, about 2:35 am,” the Danish national told the court.

“I woke up around 7:30 am and noticed that my wife was not in the bedroom so I went to look for her.”

He was led in evidence by his counsel, Mr. Olasupo Shashore (SAN), who told the court that the evidence of the defendant was very crucial to his defence.

He told the court that on April 4, 2018, his family members watched television together.

Nielsen said his wife joined him to watch a football match which was unusual.

About the night of the football match, Mr. Nielsen said his wife knew it was a very important match to him and to his surprise she watched it with him.

He continued that around 9:45 pm, his wife and he continued watching the highlights from the game, before going to bed together.

He said that around 2:30 am, they both were woken by their daughter, Petra, who entered the room and said she wanted to watch cartoons on the iPad. And that his wife took Petra to the sitting room to watch cartoons on the Television.

The witness/defendant said he went to the kitchen and got some juice and snacks for Petra, while his wife warmed some food for Petra later.

The witness said he entered the sitting room and found their maid and other girls standing in the sitting room.

Nielsen said he asked them about his wife but they said they didn’t know.

He said he searched for his wife but saw her lying lifeless with their daughter on the kitchen floor. Nielsen said there was a strong smell of gas when he opened the kitchen door.

The witness said he tried to resuscitate his wife and daughter but when he realised that they were dead, he called his wife’s stepfather and told him and his wife to come to Lagos.

He said police arrived shortly before noon and asked him to call their family doctor.

“The doctor eventually came and afterward certified the two bodies dead,” he said.

However, while the witness was trying to narrate about the wife’s step father, the prosecution led by the Commissioner for Justice Lagos State, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) objected to the evidence.

Onigbanjo said it was hearsay evidence and hence should not be admitted in evidence.

The defendant counsel maintained that the court should allow the evidence.

After the counsel’s argument, Justice Bolanle Okikolu-Ighile, adjourned for ruling and continuation of hearing until November 23.

Mother, daughter fight dirty over boyfriend in Anambra

Nemesis has reportedly caught up with a woman and her daughter who tried to outsmart each other in their illicit relationship with the same man as they went into fisticuffs on Wednesday in the lover-boy’s apartment at Nkutaku Layout in Okpoko, a suburb of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Information has it that the man, who is in his early 30s, is a boyfriend to the woman and usually patronises her restaurant at Ochanja market, near Onitsha, where her daughter also assists her mother to sell.

According to a neighbour who had been following the dramatic battle for the lover boy, trouble started when the young lady in her early twenties began to succumb to love advances from the friendly customer simply identified as Oga Dubai.

“She did not know that her mother and Oga Dubai were already dating secretly before he decided to switch to her,” the source who did not want his name mentioned in the print said.

He continued: “The mother kept her calm initially thinking that it was mere friendly play.

“But trouble started when on one of the man’s visits to the restaurant, the daughter rushed to him and embraced and kissed him.

“Angered by her daughter’s provocative action, the mother warned her to behave herself in a good manner, but the daughter fired back that she was old enough to choose whom to love and that she loves Oga Dubai and would like to marry him if he eventually proposes to her.

“After a brief exchange of words, the duo kept their cool and went home as if nothing happened.

“Not ready to surrender her lover to her daughter, the woman decided to play the spoiler game on them.

“Days later when the man invited her daughter to his house at Nkutaku layout Okpoko, her mother was already tipped off and she trailed her to the rendezvous for a showdown.

“The daughter did not know that her mother was a regular visitor to the house and as such very familiar with co-tenants to the man.

“So after about three hours after her daughter went to the man’s house, she decided to pay an unscheduled visit to the man.

“On arrival, she made straight to the man’s apartment without greeting the co-tenants as usual whenever she came calling, ostensibly to get them in action.

“After knocking, she pushed the door open and saw both unclad, with the daughter’s handbag hung on the wall.

“The woman kept her calm and managed to hold herself until the man told her: ‘You are supposed to wait for someone to come and open the door for you before you come in.’”

According to the witness, this infuriated the woman who raised her voice, accusing the man of sleeping with mother and daughter, swearing that she has cut their relationship and that the girl will not return to her house again, but will remain there in the man’s house.

The source added: “As the heated argument ensued between the man and the mother, the daughter tried to sneak away, but unfortunately for her, the mother rushed outside and held her, dragging her back to the man’s house.

“As the girl was trying to resist her mother, the mother started beating her up and calling her lover-boy snatcher.

“As the beating became unbearable, the girl fought back and tore her mother’s clothes into shred, exposing her nakedness.”

The timely intervention of on-lookers who rushed and separated them saved the situation and both headed home from different directions. while abusing each other, calling themselves ashewo (prostitute).

A man who claimed to be one of the co-tenants of the lover boy also disclosed that the mother of the girl visits the man regularly and that the day of the fight was the first they saw the young girl.

“The woman comes to our compound steady, we even think she is the wife to the man. Sometimes she will cook and fetch water and wash the man’s clothes,” he said.

  • Prince Harry, Meghan Markle welcome baby girl

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle welcome baby girl

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced Sunday the birth of their daughter Lilibet Diana, who was born in California after a year of turmoil in Britain’s royal family.

“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” said a statement from the couple.

The child — the couple’s second, who will be eighth in line to the British throne — was born Friday in Santa Barbara and was now out of the hospital and at home.

“She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home,” the statement said.

The couple, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, live near Los Angeles following their decision to quit frontline royal duties early last year.

The couple sat in March for a bombshell interview with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey, triggering the royal family’s biggest crisis since Harry’s mother died in a car crash in 1997.

During the two-hour sit-down, viewed by more than 17 million people in the US and over 11 million in Britain, Harry and Meghan said racism had played a part in them quitting the UK for North America.

The couple said a senior royal had speculated how dark their child’s skin would be before he was born. Meghan’s mother is Black and her father is white.

Meghan, a former actress, also told Winfrey she was “naively” unprepared for life as a royal and had contemplated suicide while pregnant with her first child Archie.

Harry, 36, and Meghan 39, accused newspapers of racial stereotyping, particularly set against coverage of Harry’s sister-in-law, Kate, who is white.

Prince Harry was said to have a good relationship with his grandparents.

He told talk show host James Corden earlier this year that he had spoken via video call Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip since moving to the United States so they could see their great-grandson Archie.

Harry has spoken to his father multiple times since the Oprah interview came out, notably after Prince Philip’s funeral, according to British media.

In a new documentary series released last month, Harry once again emphasized that his family turned a blind eye to the struggles of his wife, saying he will “never be bullied into silence.”
