Amaju vs Davido: Singer agrees to pay N30 million legal fees, to perform at Warri Again 2024

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has settled for out of court settlement in a breach of contract suit filed against him by the immediate past President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited at the High Court of Delta State, Effurun.

In the N2 billion suit filed against him, Davido, agreed to pay N30 million to the claimant, being a part contribution to the claimant’s outstanding legal fees in the suit within seven days of execution of the terms of settlement.

Pinnick had, through his lawyer, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, in suit EHC/183/2023, prayed the court to award N2 billion as general damages against Davido.

The claimant prayed for N150 million as legal and professional fees, and an additional sum of N30 million as cost of filing the suit.

Listed as defendants in the suit are David Adeleke a.k.a “Davido”, and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.

Consequently, ina new deal struck mutually by both parties, the singer has agreed to perform at the “Warri Again Concert” edition on October 4, 2024 to make up for the missed edition in 2023.

Although, it was also agreed by both parties that the sum of $94,500 which the claimant had already paid to the defendants, will be considered for the performance at the event.

Davido ecstatic, over the moon on national honours award

Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted after he was selected among the worthy recipients of a national honour by former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

It was gathered that the DMW boss is among the 20 people who bagged the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Taking to his Instagram page, Davido thanked the Federal Government for recognizing his contribution in the entertainment industry.

He wrote, “Honored to hear the news that I have been conferred with an 0ON (0fficer of the Order of Nigeria) by The Federal Government of Nigeria. I am grateful for this recognition and honour.

“It has always been my mission to use my platform to showcase our country – the passion, the resilience, the joy the culture and of course the struggles of our people. I do not take any of this for granted.

“We have one Nigeria and we wil continue to do whatever we must to make it better! Thank you all for being on this journey with me. So help us God. 001 – OON.”

How I got Asake to feature on ‘Timeless’ – Davido

David Adedeji Adeleke, known professionally as Davido has spoken on how he got his colleague, Asake to feature in his new album, Timeless.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Davido disclosed this known in an interview, the video of which went viral via social media on Friday.

The Afrobeats superstar disclosed he has always been a fan of Asake because of his storylines and style, and that he spoke with YBNL boss, Olamide, prior to meeting Asake, who is signed to YBNL Nation.

“Shoutout to Asake, I am a very very big fan of him and his story and just the way he just came out and just scattered everywhere and I was just like omo I had to get him on my album because of his style and everything, I just wanted to work with him.

“I dm the bossman, Baddo, I didn’t write Asake first o, I went to my brother first, so I cornered him, I wrote ola like Baddo I am doing my album and need Asake on a verse and he said send it nau, I can’t tell you no nau. Who has Asake verse? I am not sure Asake would even give anybody Asake verse.

“So I sent the song to Baddo’s WhatsApp I think then Baddo was on tour, Funny enough Asake loves recording when Baddo is there, like presently there, so Asake said he wants Baddo to be there with him when he is Voicing. Baddo is also one of the writers of the song as well.

“Asake sent the verse and it was fire, I said Baddo nice one, so we signed, cleared and delivered,” Davido said.

Davido deletes profile picture, over 4,000 photos from Instagram page

Ace afrobeat singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, aka Davido, has shocked his fans as he deletes almost all his Instagram posts, including his profile photo.⁣

Recall that the singer promised to return to Instagram in March with a new album. Many of his fans have been waiting non-stop for his moment of return.

However, things took a different turn after Davido removed his profile picture and deleted over 4,000 posts from his page.

Only photos of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who passed away in November 2022; that of him and his wife, Chioma; and one of his performances at the World Cup in Qatar are left on his page.

Many of the singer’s fans are scared and confused and seem to think that it is a bad sign that he deleted over 4,000 posts from his page.

Davido was born in Atlanta, US, and raised in Lagos. He developed his interest in music as a teen, while attending Oakwood University where he started making his own beats and investigating music production before dropping out in order to pursue a career in music.

He rose to fame following the release of “Dami Duro“, the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012), from which six additional singles—”Back When”, “Ekuro”, “Overseas”, “All of You”, “Gbon Gbon”, and “Feel Alright”—were taken.

In 2012, Davido won the Next Rated award at The Headies. Between 2013 and 2015, he released the hit singles “Gobe“, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu“, “Aye“, “Tchelete (Goodlife)”, “Naughty”, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money”.

In January 2016, Davido announced on Twitter he had signed a record deal with Sony Music and a few months later founded the record label Davido Music Worldwide, to which acts Dremo, Mayorkun, Yonda and Peruzzi are currently signed. In July 2016, Davido signed a record deal with Sony’s RCA Records.

In October 2016, he released the 5-track EP Son of Mercy, which was supported by the singles “Gbagbe Oshi”, “How Long” and “Coolest Kid in Africa”. In April 2017,

Davido re-negotiated his contract with Sony due to creative control issues, and later that year he released five singles including “If” and “Fall“.

“If” generated worldwide social media activity while “Fall” became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.

Davido released his second studio album A Good Time in November 2019. It was supported by the previously released singles “If”, “Fall”, “Assurance”, “Blow My Mind” and “Risky”.

He has received numerous accolades, including BET Awards for Best International Act, 8 Headies Awards, 7 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, 5 Afrima Awards, 1 Kora Award, 1 Chanel O Award, 1 Ghana Music Award, and nominations for MTV Europe Music Awards, Soul Train Music Awards and MOBO Awards.

Davido was cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2019.^[6] His third studio album A Better Time was released on November 13, 2020. In February 2021, he appeared on Time magazine‘s Time 100 Next List.

Davido is a cultural ambassador for Nigeria and a prominent voice of human rights on the African continent. He is one of the most followed African artists on both Instagram and Twitter.

“Davido’s upcoming album to be released on March 31st”- Isreal DMW announces

Isreal DMW, the logistic manager of the afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has announced March 31st as the release date of Davido‘s upcoming album.

It would be recalled that since Davido’s performance at the closing event of the FIFA 2022 world cup, he has since maintained a distance from social media. He, however, hinted at a date he’d return before login off.

In a recent development, Isreal DMW took to his Instagram page in a now-deleted post to announce the date the singer’s album would roll out.

“We outside again by March 31st. Our new album, flex my soul track, it’s a real BANGER SHIIT,” he wrote.

Some eagled-eyed netizens have sent in congratulatory messages after spotting Chioma Adeleke, the wife of award-winning and global music icon, Davido, glancing through a menstrual track app in a viral video.

Recall that Davido and Chioma made the headlines a few days ago after a video of the couple surfaced online tattooing their names on their finger.

The newly married couples Davido and Chioma were seen tattooing each other’s names on their wedding finger. Davido tattooed Chioma’s name on his finger while Chioma also did the same.

“Hold Davido responsible if anything happens to my daughter”- Sina Rambo’s mother-in-law

Queen Korth, the mother-in-law of Sina Rambo, has called out Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, Davido, over an alleged threat he sent to her daughter, Heidi Korth.

In her words: “I want the whole world to know that if anything happens to my daughter, Davido Adeleke should be held responsible as he has threatened to deal with her.”

Queen Korth shared a screenshot where Davido tackled the mother of Heidi Korth and warned her to deal with her daughter.

It seems Davido did not like the comment Heidi Korth made a few days ago after a troll claimed Heidi was jealous of Chioma. Reacting to this, Heidi blasted the fan while throwing subtle shades at Chioma and referring to her as the leader of ‘Endurance Group’.

“I see why you people are jealous of Chioma. She is the true definition of beauty”, the troll said.

Heidi in her reaction fired back: “Abeg abeg did you get lost in my comment section? Carry your endurance group elsewhere pls.”

In a lengthy write-up, the mother of Heidi Korth said Davido should be held responsible if anything happens to her daughter for threatening to deal with her.

She wrote; “My daughter is a German citizen by birth and nationality and I am tagging everybody including the bloggers to come out and present proof that my daughter Heidi insulted or called Chioma out directly.

Nigerian music act, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido and his wife Chioma have customized eachother’s name on their ring fingers.

The newly engaged couple were seen on a trending video with customized ring bearing each other’s name on them.

This is coming barely a week since the singer updated her marital status on his Wikipedia profile after finalizing Chioma’s bride price on the 5th of January 2023.

The singer had, earlier in November 2022, got married to Chioma secretly, a month after the death of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

Recall that Davido had in 2022, before the tragic incident, vowed to marry Chioma in 2023, but after their son’s death, the singer speedily wedded her privately.
