Threat remarks: Who are you that people can’t criticise? – Adeyanju, VDM drag Pastor Ibiyeomie

Popular Nigerian pastor, David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has come under heavy criticisms for  threatening to arrest those making negative posts about him.

It would be recalled that the clergyman during a recent service warned bloggers against deliberately twisting his messages, adding that he would take firm action against anyone who “crosses the line.”

My type when I go after people, they will now send people to come and beg. So I’m warning you for the last time. Next time, there will be nothing like a warning. If you dare it. A young man, I know you. Your father won’t beg me, I know your father too. Your mother won’t beg me. I will deal with you.

“Because when I pick them and people say, why do you go like this? You know, people are one kind – some people will be for me and some people will be against me. But for me, there are always many.

“Don’t carry my news. I don’t want your news. You won’t make me popular. Already, I am talking to the world. Good or bad, don’t carry my news. I don’t want you to carry it. Don’t carry news from this church,” he said.

Reacting to the clergyman’s submission via X, Nigerian lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju and social media critic, VeryDarkMan slammed the clergy, arguing that people criticised Jesus and did not get locked up.

Adeyanju wrote, “I’m so disappointed in Papa David Ibiyeomie warning and threatening Nigerians not to talk or criticize him or his church else he will lock them up.Who are you sir that people can’t talk about your church or criticize you?People criticized Jesus and He did not lock them up.”

The outspoken activist also accused the pastor of using fear and intimidation tactics to silence dissent and scrutiny.

He added: “Boasting about using police to lock people up, a pastor ooo! These pastors are acting like unbelievers and de-marketing Christianity. They are the reason many people are no longer going to church”

Verydarkman on his part dared the pastor to lock any individual up for simply speaking about him online.

The activist said in part …“I know you travel around the world, have you seen anybody using police to lock up people? That means you are using your influence now to say that you can use the police to oppress. You can’t try this in other countries becuase those police would do their investigations. You cannot command police to do anything whether you are influential or not. That is why I say even the pastors follow spoil the country, but people don’t understand what I was saying. Nobody dey fear you. Who are you that we will fear, are you not a human being?”

  • Why people face hardship every January – Pastor Ibiyeomie

Why people face hardship every January – Pastor Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has said the inability of people to invest in the kingdom of God is the reason they are faced with hardship every January.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) report Pastor Ibiyeomie said this in a recent sermon in his church, where he attributed January hardship to inability to invest in the kingdom of God via payment of tithes and offerings during the yuletide.

While giving a sermon in his church on Sunday, the cleric said some members are distracted by material things during the Christmas season and forget to perform their financial obligations in the church.

According to him, when they spend all their incomes in the season, some resort to binding their landlords due to their inability to renew their rent, stressing that such prayers are not biblical.

“January is always the longest month for many people, because if they pay you before Christmas and they give you Christmas bonus and then before the new year you have spent everything, without even investing in the Kingdom, most of you will not pay Tithe, you feel this time no way, I have shoes to buy, I have hair to buy, I have clothes to buy.

“No problem while you’re buying them also remember that by January, landlord will give you bill, the children will give you school fees, you can’t bind your landlord, even if you bind him, I lose him.

“It is unscriptural to bind your landlord when he built his own house for goodness’ sake, why are you binding a man, do you think he built the house for you to live for free, those are not scriptural prayers, it is against the scripture, pay your rent.

“Don’t speak in tongues and say have stroke, why will the man have stroke, why will your landlord have stroke, what did he do to you that you want him to have stroke and then you say he is not born again? That’s why you now start quoting scripture that has no meaning,” Ibiyeomie said.

  • Why I don’t pay 10 percent as tithe – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Why I don’t pay 10 percent as tithe – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder/presiding pastor of Salvation Ministries has revealed he does not pay 10 per cent as tithe as instructed by the Holy Bible.

Pastor Ibiyeomie, who spoke while addressing his members on Sunday at the church’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, stressed God would flog him if he pays 10 per cent as tithe.

Ibiyeomie described the refusal to pay tithe as a form of greed, adding that those who don’t tithe find life very tight for them.

“In fact, these days, I don’t even pay ten, my P.A. is there. I pay far beyond ten, for every money I get. That is what you are struggling to pay as tithe, me I pay more than ten percent as offering.

“My tithe is not fifteen percent, I won’t tell you the percentage, I’m on another level. I won’t tell you what I pay as tithe. If I pay ten percent, God will flog me.

“Me, pay tithe of ten percent for what? You pay ten percent, that’s the recommended one, but me, I’m at another level,” the Cleric said.

”But poor people switch it on because they want alert; It is a sign of poverty. You will never see a wealthy man switch on his phone in church, he will say, ” I want to hear something that will help improve my life.

”But the poor will say, “make I see weda somebody go send me money”. It is a poverty mentality. You are in a church where the poor come and become wealthy.
