People who criticized my church have gotten leprosy – Bishop Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel has said speaking against men of God can attract leprosy and that many critics of his ministry have been victims of the warning.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Bishop Oyedepo made this known during the Leadership Empowerment Summit at the church’s headquarters, Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

Oyedepo, who said there was no data to back his claim, however, warned Christians to deviate from criticizing their prophets, saying such attitude attracts dangerous punishment from God.

He said: “Beware of speaking hurt against the Ministry you claim to be part of advancing, it’s a risk.

“Beware of speaking hurt against a Prophet you claim to believe. It is dangerous. It can make a man leprous. It is dangerous. We don’t have the data of how many victims may have come from this warning, but I know quite some would have been victims.

“One of the Leaders in this Nation said, “what we are saying now, Bishop is in his room. he is hearing.” When we give warnings, we give it based on prophetic insights.”

The African richest pastor, however, admitted that criticism is part of what prophets of God must endure, saying it is not a problem.

“Every prophet is ordained to be spoken against. So it is not a problem. It is already written. It is not that it is something that is new,” he said.

What I will do if Nigeria is engulfed in crisis – Oyedepo

Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo has revealed what he would do if Nigeria is engulfed in crisis.

Oyedepo, in one of his sermons said he would be the last person to leave Nigeria if the nation is engulfed in crisis.

“If there is crisis in this Nation, I will be the last to leave here,” he said.

Oyedepo’s view is different from Pastor Paul Adefarasin of the House on the Rock, who told his members to plan an escape route out of Nigeria.

The clergyman said the escape route is important because the crises rocking the country could degenerate into a civil war.

But Oyedepo admitted that things were currently wrong in Nigeria, but said he would be the last to leave if things degenerated into serious crisis.

However, Oyedepo said nobody could enjoy and sustain the flow of favour without the fear of God as a lifestyle.

“Don’t rob nobody, don’t cheat on anyone. Don’t outsmart your business partners. Don’t swear falsely. Don’t take bribes. Favour is the companion of all that fear God and favour shall be your companion from now.

“Flowing in favour demands the doing of righteousness. You know there is the appropriation of righteousness that people emphasize today, but don’t be deceived, he that doeth righteousness is righteous. The doing righteousness: favour!

“There was an explosion of favour, until the time that his Word came. The Word of the Lord tried him,” he said.

Last 5 years most gruesome in history of Nigeria – Bishop Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide has said the most gruesome season in the history of Nigeria is the last 5 years.

Bishop Oyedepo stated this on Sunday at Canaan land, and while lending support for the #EndSARS protests, said youths have a right to express their displeasure and pains.

The cleric said he was silent over the protest because he warned Nigerians in 2015 but was humiliated.

“We have been having spades of protests across the nation, Every man has a right, legitimately so to express their displeasure and pain, everybody does.

“I kept quiet for a while because in 2015 I warned this nation vehemently consistently because I saw the danger ahead and you can tell.

“The most gruesome season in the history of this nation is the last 5 years, where lives have no value, quantum killing, now they have face the youth, and because they don’t know who is next, they have a right to say enough is enough.

“Any system that has no value for human-right is irrelevant, if they were killed when they were youths will they be where they are today?

“And now it would be a sacrilege to shoot the protesters who are not looting, who are not ravaging.

“When you push a goat to the wall then you will know that goats have teeth to bite.

“It is a sacrilege to kill youths during a protest, this protest is legitimate,” Oyedepo said.

CAMA law: Buhari’s aide drops bombshell allegation against Oyedepo’s church

Lauretta Onochie, a media aide of President Muhammadu Buhari has again called out the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo over the Company and Allied Matters Acts (CAMA).

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Onochie on Monday via her official Twitter handle dropped a bombshell allegation against Bishop Oyedepo’s church and Nicholas Mutu, House Committee Chair on Oil and Gas.

The Buhari’s aide, while stressing that “there is a difference between control and regulation” and that “CAMA aims at regulation”, alleged in her tweet that the House Committee Chair on Oil and Gas paid N20 million in a day to Oyedepo’s church.

“Theres a difference between CONTROL & REGULATION

CAMA aims at REGULATION. Where Nicholas Mutu, House Committee Chair on Oil & Gas, regularly received money from @NDDCOnline & also paid ₦20m in a day to Mr Oyedepo’s church, Nigerians want the regulation in place,” Onochie tweeted.

Recall that Onochie had earlier openly criticized Oyedepo for rejecting the CAMA law, saying it is irrational to subject churches to the same laws as companies.

Under CAMA, signed into law on August 7, religious bodies and charity organisations will be strictly regulated by the registrar-general of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and a supervising minister.

But Oyedepo said the law was borne out of the government’s jealousy about the prosperity recorded by the church.

Reacting in a tweet, Ononchie said Oyedepo would have to abide by the government’s law as long as he dwells in the country.

“I hope this is not true. If it is, Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws.

“As long as he lives and operates within the entity called Nigeria, he will live by Nigerian rules and laws. He will do as he’s told by the law. Enough of lawlessness,” she stated.

He said the security sub-committee of the task force on COVID-19, unsealed two churches earlier shutdown for violating safety measures on the pandemic.

Oyedepo, an indigene of Omu-Aran, made the call on Tuesday during an annual general meeting of Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA) held at Omu-Aran City Complex.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the throne became vacant following the death of 64-year-old Oba Charles Ibitoye on Dec. 1 during an illness.

Oyedepo urged the Olomu-in-council and the ODA leadership to ensure transparency in the selection of the next king.

“I think we are capable of handling our domestic affairs successfully by ourselves.

“We should not give room for external influence or rancour in choosing our leader or leaders.

“We have people of proven integrity and immense wisdom including professors, permanent secretaries, industrialists and the likes in our midst,” he said.

The cleric said that the death of some kingmakers within the year called for more prayers by the community.

The ODA President, Chief Bisi Adeyemi, said that the association had embraced peace, unity, education, security and infrastructure maintenance as catalysts for socio-economic development of the community.

He said that the association had given attention to the town’s waterworks, Agbaa River bridge and some road projects.

Adeyemi called for donations toward the rehabilitation of the Omu-Aran City Complex to enable it to continue to serve the purpose for which it was built.

“The community is lucky to have three 500 KVA and 300 KVA transformers to boost power supply,’’ remarked.

Chief Festus Awoniyi, the Peru Tayero of Omu-Aran, who led the Olomu-in-council, urged the people to remain united and peaceful.

He said that the council was working tirelessly to ensure that the death of Ibitoye would not create unnecessary vacuum in the administration of the community.

The Chief Imam of Omu-Aran, Alhaji Sodiq Afolayan, urged the community members to use dialogue rather than confrontation to resolve disputes.

Chief Jide Adebayo, the Chairman of Omu-Aran Festival of Clubs 2017, announced the postponement of the festival scheduled for Dec. 30.

Adebayo, a former NAN Director, said that the postponement was in honour of the late Ibitoye.
