  • D’banj to launch YouTube reality show

    Superstar singer, Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’banj is set to launch a reality show ‘Adventures of a Kokomaster’ on YouTube.

    News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that D’banj, who is also known as the ‘Kokomaster’, announced the upcoming show on his Instagram page @iambangalee on Wednesday.

    He said, “Adventures of the Kokomaster launches on YouTube on August 2019. Who wants to feature in it. Subscribe to my YouTube Channel.”

    NAN reports that the show comes after he was hosted and honoured by YouTube with a silver plague to mark his 100,000 subscribers on the platform.

    The musician, entrepreneur and television personality on Monday received a ‘Silver Creator award’ from YouTube and was a panellist at the ‘YouTube Week’.

    At the event, D’banj revealed some tips and tricks behind his impact in various sectors of the Nigerian economy through his multiple award-winning music career.

    NAN reports that in 2016, he launched the Creative, Reality, Entertainment, Arts and Music (CREAM) platform to support upcoming Nigerian talents.

    He revealed that the ‘CREAM’ platform has generated over 15 million dollars and gathered over 3.5 million subscribers since its inception in 2016.

    D’banj has won several music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2007 and Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2009.

    He also won the Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, Best-selling African Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards and Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards.

    Aside from his love and passion for music, Davido is also a lady’s man.

    The ‘Assurance’ crooner took to his Instagram page on Thursday, February 14, 2019, where he posted a video of himself surprising an obviously thrilled Chioma with some gifts.

    Before the release of the song, there had been several pictures of D’banj and 2Baba hanging out with their wives tagged #Baecation in anticipation of the collaboration.

    Losing my son was a tough moment for me- D’banj

    Afro-pop star, D’banj has recounted how he overcame the pains of losing his son

    When he lost his son, many thought it was going to affect his music career, however the ‘Mobolowon’ crooner has been able to channel the pain into his music.

    At a recent end-of-year party of a real estate company, D’banj revealed how he was able to get through the death of his son.

    He said, “I have been through tough times but I believe that’s what makes one a man. You all know what happened to me recently when I lost my son; it was really a tough time for me. But do you know how I was able to get through it? It was because of you, my fans. You showed me so much love and it really meant a lot to me and my family. It is when certain things happen to you that you will know whether you are a man or not. That incident was a test for me and I am glad that I’m still standing.”

    D’banj further opened up on his plans for 2018.

    “You just have to keep your fingers crossed because I have a lot of things in stock for you. I am back, bigger and better. Some people thought my career will go down but I’m still here shining. The fans still loves me and that’s what counts. I am very glad that I have very loyal fans who have been with me from the start. I don’t take that for granted because not every artiste has that privilege.”

     

  • Don Jazzy is a legend- D’banj declares on birthday

    Ever since Don Jazzy and D’banj reunited at Davido’s ’30 Billion Music Concert’ in December last year, the music stars have been showing affection to another on social media.

    Today Monday, November 26, 2018, is Don Jazzy’s birthday and D’banj showered praises on him, calling him a legend.

     

    The music star took to his Instagram page where he posted a compilation of some of their best music videos together. He went on to caption the video with the quote:

     

    “Happy Birthday To The First And Last Don, my Brother @donjazzy we Indeed saw the future and Believed in ourselves and our people too. You’re A Legend Happy Birthday To You Don Baba J ,” he wrote.

  • D’banj, Sony Music sign record deal

    Oladapo Oyebanjo, aka D’banj, and Sony Music Africa, have signed a record deal.

    Michael Ugwu, a Sony Music Entertainment West Africa, representative, made this known on his instagram handle on Thursday.

    D’banj signed the undisclosed deal under his record label, DKM record.

    Ugwu also posted images from the signing captioned in pidgin: “DKM+SONY Music Africa, this one no be welcome, this one nah welcome back #i#believe.

    “We cannot wait to see what is next for the kokomaster, D’banj,’’ Ugwu said.

    D’banj recently walked the runway at the African Fashion International Johannesburg Fashion Week.

    The musician, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, television personality and rapper, teamed up with South African designer David Tlale, as he showcased a suit while strutting comfortably down the runway recently in Johannesburg.

    He has won several music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Award 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009.

    Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, and Best-selling African Artist 2014 World Music Awards, Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards.

    Self-proclaimed ‘Eja nla’, D’banj is set to unveil the video of his collaboration with sexy singer, Tiwa Savage. The song is titled ‘Shake it’.
     
    The Afro-pop singer on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 shared a snippet of his new single, featuring Mavin diva, Tiwa Savage, who has been trending on social media over her appearance on Wizkid’s recent video, ‘Fever’.
     
    D’banj shared snippets of the video on his instagram page with the caption, ”Bread and Stew plus Ewa goyin for a Breakfast.”
     
    The visuals directed by Sesan opens with an aerial shot of the city as D’banj emerges from a car with Tiwa serving as his love interest as the snippet fades to its end.

  • D’banj rocks dreadlocks, vacations in Jamaica

    Since the death of his son, Daniel the third, D’banj has been taken proactive steps to get over his loss. The music star took to his Instagram page on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, where he posted a photo of himself looking dressed in shades of pink.

     

    This would be the first time we will be seeing D’banj’s photo since the demise of his son. In the same vein, the self- proclaimed Koko master is currently having a vacation in Jamaica. The excited singer took to his Instagram page to share photos from his vacation.

    D'banj returns to social media after son's death, shares his grieving moments

    This is an aftermath of a statement released by D’banj on his Instagram page revealing that his family has been through hard times since the demise of their dear son.

    He wrote:”The past few weeks have been incredibly trying and difficult, but God’s love has kept me and my family going. I can’t thank my team enough and the incredible love from you all. May God keep us all. #StrongerTogether’…” he captioned the photo

    Since his son passed on, D’banj stayed away from his social media page until early July when he posted a message where he thanked everyone for their support as he mourns his son.

     

    “We want to use this medium to thank everyone that has extended a hand of support to us during this period. On behalf of myself and my family, we are awed by the demonstration and love and care from both near and far. May God bless you all. From the Oyebanjo,” he wrote.
