In her words: “It has taken me all day to make this post, I’ve cancelled and retyped and cancelled again and have also gotten to a place of do I really need to even do one? And I battled and battled but I got thousands and thousands of messages on here from people I don’t even know sending the kindest words of encouragement to my sister and family and just like everyone doesn’t know what to say at this time, I had no clue what I would type.

” For all of you that made your accusations and even went as far as going into my DMs to insult my family and me in our loss, it only took 1 sec to delete and block and I didn’t even remember your name after, but for what it worth I pray for your dark heart.

“However and most importantly, to follow up with my brother in-law and sister that we are so grateful for the kindness shown, in these dark days of sooo much mourning, I thank you for the messeges and calls and support.

“I can’t thank you enough that each and every one of you reminded me of kindness and genuine love and empathy at this time. I have a guardian angel now.

“Life is so short and fickle, the body is just flesh and your soul is what matters, in all this sadness around us and in our country let’s get up, be and do right. Love fully and be kind to one another over the people that God gives you every day because he will want them back at some point.

“RIP my sweet boy, you made me so happy even when I watched you sleep and that’s the way you shall be remembered. Danielthethird.”

  • I miss Don Jazzy, D’banj- JahBless laments

I miss Don Jazzy, D’banj- JahBless laments

Nigerian Afro-pop singer, JahBless in his lengthy Instagram post has lamented over missing Don Jazzy and D’banj together on a song.

Recall that the duo of Don Jazzy and D’banj reunited at Davido’s 30 Billion Concert held in Lagos in December 2017.

JahBless noted that the key to making a hit song is the chemistry between a singer and his producer .

According to him: “ I miss @iambangalee & @donJazzy together on a song, d’banj had some good songs after the break down , but obviously it wasnt “Don Jazzy Again!”, those two guys shared great chemistry in the studio and you can tell on every song they had. @idcabasa & @9iceofficialbest combo of the century “Gangan Aso Album”, Sosick and the late Dagrin (R.I.P) “CEO Album”.Recently i read an article on Drake where he said loosing Noah “40” Shebib is the biggest fear of his life cos “40” has multiple sclerosis which might take him away anytime. @youngjohn & @baddosneh, @wizkidayo & duo @legendarybeatzand list goes on. So ask yourself , who is your producer?

U need to understand ur sound. Musicians who don’t know their “sound” often create studio albums that take on their producer’s sound. It’s not your producer’s album. It’s yours! Be confident in your music and your style.
My first point and the second one goes hand-in-hand. Being with a good producer gives you the opportunity to create a piece of art that explores the various personalities in you. Even if your music is rap, a good producer gives you the flexibility of making a multi-genre project. Some songs may end up being more Highlife or pop, so a producer helps you discover the possibilities while still helping your project maintain its “YOU” element.

Incredibly important! Just because someone is good, doesn’t mean they’re the right person to work with. Make sure you’re working with someone who you can get along with. Meet up before you ever decide to work on a song together. Can you talk with each other. Do you speak the same language? Are your personalities compatible? Is there potential to hash out touchy subjects civilly (these will definitely come up) Being able to trust who you work with is of utmost important.Spend as much time as you can learning about the person you could potentially be working with. Look for a producer who has worked with comparable artists. Inother words, if you want to make fuji music, don’t
spend your time talking to a Mode9 who primarily works with Hardcore rappers to produce you. Making HIT song is easier when you share the same chemistry. Tag an upcoming superstar #jahbless#Contatec “

  • What D’banj said about the Nigerian music industry

DB Records boss, pop-star and entrepreneur, D’banj made alarming comments on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, when he spoke at the 2018 edition of social media week in Lagos.

The Kokomaster, who spoke as one of the panellists on the topic: Changing The Game: Artistes As Leaders, threw a jab at record label owners in Nigeriia.

Here are the three issues he raised at the event.

    1. Most record labels are owned by Yahoo boys.

    1. Nigerian artistes lack capacity.

    1. Record label owners don’t know anything about music.

“Most of the new generation record labels are founded by Yahoo boys. You must understand first, why are you coming into music.

“Nigerian artistes need a lot of capacity building. It is only in Nigeria that the owner of a record label doesn’t know anything about music.

“Just like any product, you must always evolve. The fear of being poor made me think outside the box. This is one of the factors that drove me into music” he said.
