    Just In: PDP South-West Chairman Adagunodo is dead

    The National Vice Chairman, South-West, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olasoji Adagunodo is dead.

    Mr Adagunodo’s death was disclosed by his party associate on Tuesday evening.

    Further details concerning his death is still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

    Adagunodo, a former chairman of the Osun chapter of the PDP, assumed office as the South-West chairman of the party in 2021 after his predecessor Taofeek Arapaja was elected Deputy National Chairman (DNC) of the party.

    He led the party’s South-West zone through the Ekiti and Osun states governorship elections and was until his death widely respected for his strides.

    He had a running battle with Governor Ademola Adeleke before the latter emerged as the party’s candidate in the last election.

    SAD: Former Senate President, Nnamani’s wife is dead

    Mrs Jane Nnamani, the wife of Nigeria’s former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani has passed on.

    According to sources, she died in her early 60s after a minor surgery in Enugu.

    News of her demise spread in the State on Monday, a development that has thrown her entire Amaechi country home into mourning.

    Mrs Nnamani passed on at a time her husband, the former Senate President is reportedly out of the country. He is said to have travelled to the United States.

    Senator Nnamani is yet to make an official announcement on the development.

    SAD! Woman allegedly stabs co-wife to death in Lagos

    A 42-year-old woman identified as Fatima Rahman has been remanded at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre over the alleged murder of her co-wife, Adizat, at her residence in Alejo Street, Ijede, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

    The suspect who is reportedly from Chad Republic was arraigned on Tuesday before Magistrate P. E Nwaka at a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Yaba on one count of murder.

    Rahman who was angry that her husband took a second wife had allegedly visited the pregnant woman under the guise that she is a nurse and went on to stab her dead.

    She was said to have been angry when she learnt that her husband had married another wife.

    The accused reportedly visited the pregnant woman in her residence under the guise of being a nurse and stabbed her to death.

    A neighbour of the deceased who saw her when she arrived at the residence raised the alarm after deep wounds were found on the deceased’s neck and head.

    According to the prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, the defendant committed the offence on April 9, 2023, around 12.40pm at 43, Alejo Street, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

    The charge read, “That you, Fatima Abdul Rahman, on April 9, 2023, around 12.40 pm, at 43, Alero Street, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State in the Lagos Magisterial District did unlawfully kill one Adizat Abdul Rahman, 28-year-old, by stabbing her with a knife and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”

    The prosecutor prayed the court to remand the defendant to a custodial centre pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

    Granting the request, Nwaka remanded her to the Ikoyi Custodial Centre pending legal advice.
    Nwaka also adjourned the case till May 25, 2023, for trial.

    SAD! Popular owner of Iyare transport company, Iyare Motors, Omoruyi is dead

    Popular transporter Abel Omoruyi, popularly known as 007, is dead.

    Omoruyi, who until his demise, was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Iyare Motors died on Friday night.

    Iyare motors is one of the most popular transport companies in Nigeria, with headquarters in Benin-City, Edo State.

    Omoruyi’s death was announced by Mr. Igbinidu Charles Osaretin on his Facebook page.

    Though information about his death was sketchy as at the time of filing this report, a report by an online newspaper says Mr. Abel had been sick for a while.

    Omoruyi was a businessman, philanthropist and community leader who introduced one of the best ultra-modern bus transportation services in Nigeria .

    Just In: Missing APGA guber aspirant found dead in Enugu

    A former gubernatorial aspirant during the last governorship election in Enugu State, Mr Dons Udeh has been found dead.

    Ude, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was declared missing a few days ago.

    Emerging reports indicate that his lifeless body was found at the 9th Mile Area of Enugu State, while his car has also been recovered.

    It is unclear whether he was a victim of kidnapping or assassination.

    Efforts to get comment from the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Enugu State Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe has not been successful as at the time of filing this report as he has not responded to inquiry.

    Fmr DAAR Communication Group Head, Political, Okhiria Agbonsuremi loses wife to cancer

    Former Group Head, Political Desk with DAAR Communication Plc, Mr. Okhiria Agbonsuremi, has lost his wife, Mrs Mercy Agbonsuremi.

    In a Facebook post Monday morning the veteran ‘On Air Personality’ famous for his programmes on AIT and Ray Power 100.5FM announced the demise of his wife which he said occured on Sunday in Canada after much battle with cancer.

    He paid glowing tribute to his late wife who he described as best friend, mother, wife, sister and companion.

    BREAKING: Ex-Flying Eagles forward Emmanuel Ebiede is dead

    Former Nigeria youth international, Emmanuel Ebiede, has died at the age of 45 years.

    His daughter, Lisa Ebiede, confirmed the development when she spoke with NAN on Friday in Ilorin.

    Born on March 27, 1978, Ebiede had been battling with hepatomegaly (enlargement of the liver) and the news of his health status broke a fortnight ago.

    He played for the defunct Sharks of Port Harcourt in 1994.

    Ebiede joined Belgian First Division side SC Eendracht Aalst at the age of 16 and scored four goals for the club in 34 appearances.

    In 1997, he moved to SC Heerenveen of the Dutch Eredivisie and found the back of the net twice in 36 appearances.

    The former Sharks forward also had some stints in the Middle East donning the colours of Al Jazira, Al Ain and Al Dafra among others.

    The former Anambra State Governor, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju is dead.

    His first son, Chetachi Mbadinuju, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.

    “With heavy hearts but utmost gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, uncle, friend and associate, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, a former governor of Anambra State and elder statesman,” he said in the statement.
