We saw the revelation, prayed against Yinka Odumakin’s death– Brother

Elder brother of Yinka Odumakin, the late spokesman of Afenifere, Pastor Jacob Odumakin, on Monday said a prophecy had revealed imminent demise of the right activist.

TheNewsGuru recalls that Yinka died on Saturday after battling with respiratory problems occasioned by COVID-19 complications.

His elder brother in a chat with Punch said prayer sessions were organized to prevent the death.

He noted that although the unforeseen still happened, Yinka’s aged father was consoled by the ministers after he was told of the death, adding that their mother was, however, heartbroken.

“There was a prophecy that we should pray for Yinka so that fresh tree would not fall instead of the dry one. What that means is that our dad, who is 115 years old, is alive and 56-year-old, the last child of our father is gone.”

Pastor Odumakin also said leadership of Afenifere had informed the family that the group would organize the burial of the late activist.

National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Monday visited the widow late Odumakin at the family residence in the Omole area of Lagos.

Tinubu, who visited Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin around 2pm, told her that Yinka was dear to his heart and that his demise represented a big loss.

Tinubu later told newsmen that Odumakin contributed to constitutional democracy in the country.

He said, “The late Odumakin and I, as well as others, were together during the struggle for the actualisation of June 12, 1993 presidential election won by the late MKO Abiola.”

My father’s death affects me till this day-Omotola

Actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has opened up on one of the tragic moments of her life. She noted that something died in her when her father passed on.

Omotola made this known during a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

According to her: “I think everything I have been, positively or negatively, was sole because of that ― my father’s death. It affected me so much that I did not even know how much. I did not even mourn my dad.

“They picked me up from school, I was just 12; understand that I was very close to my dad. I was an only child for a long time. My dad and I were close and he was the manager of Lagos Country Club; I mean Lagos Country Club when it was the only club. Ikoyi Club was just trying to grow teeth at that time.

“All the presidents, everybody was there. So, my dad was like a hip man. Because we were so close, I started rolling with people of influence from a very little age; it was nothing to me. I was always with them. I will sit down and my dad would tell me, ‘cross your legs’ and I would cross my legs. There are presidents and everybody there talking and I am sitting down and imitating them. My dad would tell me that you know you can be a first lady and I would agree with him. So, this is how close we were.”

On how she felt when she discovered it was her father that had died, she said: “I did not know how to react, I did not know if it was the guilt of me thinking it shouldn’t be him; I was too young to process it, or the fact that I have truly missed him and now that he was dead, I would not see him again. Or that I was angry that I did not spend enough time with him because he did not spend enough time with me as he shipped me off to Kaduna. I did not know what I was feeling.

“So, I was just there; I was numb, I was really numb. Now that I am older, I can understand it, but then, I did not. So, I just became emotionless. It has affected me to this day. There is nothing you would say that will almost move me. It was like something died in me, I don’t know how to explain it”.

France probes death of student who got AstraZeneca jab

French authorities said Tuesday they were investigating the death of a 26-year-old medical student days after he received AstraZeneca‘s COVID-19 vaccine, while stressing that no link had been established yet with the jab.

The student died on March 18 in the western city of Nantes, 10 days after receiving the AstraZeneca jab.

The public prosecutor in Nantes, Pierre Sennes, said that an autopsy had been carried out on him a day after his death but that “it was necessary to carry out further tests to determine the causes and circumstances of his death”.

The ANSM national drug safety watchdog said it had been informed of the man’s death “as part of our increased monitoring of thrombosis cases” and said for the moment there was no clear link with the inoculation.

“This death is the subject of an in-depth clinical investigation,” it said in a statement, giving the student’s age as 24. The prosecutor’s office said later he was aged 26.

News of the man’s death came five days after France and several other countries resumed AstraZeneca vaccinations after having briefly suspended it over reports of blood clots in a small number some people who received the jab.

France’s medicines regulator recommends the vaccine for those aged 55 and over as the reports of blood clots have been in those aged younger.

The vaccine has been backed by the World Health Organization and the EU’s drugs regulator, which have said there was no evidence of a link to an increased risk of blood clots.

The WHO said reported rates of so-called thromboembolic events after COVID-19 vaccines were in line with the usual number of people suffering these conditions.
