Ooni of Ife reacts to Akeredolu’s death

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has described the demise of Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State as a huge loss to Yoruba race and Nigeria at large.

Ooni, who stated this in a statement he personally issued on Wednesday, said that the late governor was an epitome of honesty and courage, who lived a life worthy of emulation.

According to him, the Oduduwa race has lost a pillar of honesty and courage; a man who served humanity with his expertise as a legal luminary, experienced politician and true descendant of Oduduwa.

“When we were challenged at the grassroots by invaders who masqueraded as herdsmen, Aketi worked with stakeholders across South-West and the national level to deliver our mandate of security and prosperity.

“This birthed Amotekun and other initiatives through which our people are safer and more confident to embark on their lawful businesses daily.

“He was an honest, bold and courageous leader whose legacy will never be forgotten. If Akeredolu tells you anything, that is the way it is.

“His death is a personal loss to me because we were very close, right from our days as students of Loyola College, Ibadan till date.

“In fact, he did a legacy project for the school through which his name will forever be remembered,” he said.

The royal father expressed condolences to the late governor’s wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the family, President Bola Tinubu, the people of the state and Nigerians in general.

WARNING! Two major causes of death during or after Se3ual intercourse

Death can happen during consensual se3ual activity for a variety of reasons, including the particular sort of the activity or overall good karma.

The phrase “passing on in the seat” denotes that a person passed away while being close to another person.

Have you ever wondered why so many people have passed away while being close to another person? Their well-being is important because being near (or having sex) may be truly and physically draining for the two people.

Several factors, according to Medicalnewstoday, can cause passing during a close relationship. Here are some of those items:

    Dealing in drugs.
Many people utilize drugs to strengthen their bonds, despite the fact that this is untrue. If you take medication while enjoying a sexual experience, it could kill you.

Some people mix alcohol with solid medicines, such as opioid painkillers.

Some people also mix alcohol with things that give them a more intimate feel. Some users of long-term medications might use cocaine or cannabis at the time.

All of this is done in an effort to make sex demonstrations enjoyable.

However, these potent treatments endanger their health. Their focus was primarily on them.

Some “personal enhancers” have a history of lowering pulse, which can be dangerous when combined with nitrate-containing medication. This is known as hypotension when the pulse falls too low.

    Cardiac arrest.
Unexpected cardiac failure, often known as SCA, occurs when the heart abruptly stops pumping blood to the brain and other vital organs. The heart often continues to beat throughout a cardiovascular failure.

A personally associated SCD began to populate on average when a person was 38 years old, and 33% of those affected were women, which is much greater than previous studies had suggested.

The investigation found that the majority of those who took part had heart problems. Unexpected arrhythmic death disorder, also known as unexpected cardiovascular passing, affected the other group of people.

My mum deserves death penalty, I watched her kill my dad – Daughter of victim tells court

The eldest son of a murderous mother says she deserves the death penalty – and he hopes to see her execution.

Arjun Singh, now 17, was a key witness to the poisoning and murder of his father, Sukhjit Singh, 34, who was killed by wife Ra awwmandeep Kaur Mann, 38. The murder plot between Brit mum Mann and lover Gurpreet Singh has landed the duo behind bars with his mum handed the death penalty.

Mann is now facing the death penalty in India after she laced a biryani dinner with sedatives before slitting Sukhjit’s throat as he slept. Arjun, who was aged nine at the time of his father’s death, witnessed the grisly killing.

Speaking of the horror crime which he saw unfold before his eyes, Arjun confirms he wants ‘nothing to do’ with his murderous mum. It was previously reported Mann was facing the death penalty and living in a ‘living hell’ until her execution date

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Arjun said: “There are not many children who watch their mother kill their father and then give evidence about it. How do you try and get on with your life after something like this? I’ve had to be very brave and I’m proud of what I’ve done because I’ve got justice for my father.

“My brother and me don’t think of this woman as my mother anymore, she’s evil. We want nothing to do with her. As far as I’m concerned, she stopped being a mother to us the moment she murdered our father.”

Reps to investigate death of medical doctor on duty in LUTH

The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the death of Dr. Michael Umoh, a personnel at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) who died on duty.

The resolution was sequel to a unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Adedayo Adesola (APC-Lagos state) at plenary on Tuesday.

Moving the motion, Adesola said that the importance of medical personnel as the fulcrum of the healthcare delivery system could not be overemphasised.

He recalled that on Sept. 17, Umoh, a medical officer on a residency programme in the LUTH reportedly died after spending 72 hours on duty in the Neurosurgery unit of the institution.

According to him, there is a recent related incident of a young female medical doctor who lost her life due to elevator failure in a general hospital, which could have been avoided with improved working conditions.

    “There have been several other reports of medical personnel dying as a result of harsh working conditions and other forms of negligence, thus robbing the country of her best brains;

“Such cases have reinforced the agitation of National Association of Resident Doctors, Nigeria Medical Association and other associated bodies for improved conditions of service.

“This is seen in the recent industrial strike embarked upon by Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to press home their demands,” he said.

In his ruling, the Deputy Speaker, Rep. Benjamin Kalu mandated the Committees on Health Institutions and Labour and Employment Institutions to carry out the investigation and report back within six weeks.

He said that the aim was to ensure that medical personnel in Nigeria work under favourable conditions.

The house observed a minute of silence in honour of the deceased doctors.

  • Oromoni’s mother speaks on son health challenge before death

Oromoni’s mother speaks on son health challenge before death

Mrs Rosemary Oromoni, the mother of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr., the late 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lagos, says the late student had no health challenge before the complaints he made a few days before his death.

Rosemary said this while being cross-examined by counsel to Dowen College, Mr Anthony Kpokpo.

She testified on Monday at a coroner’s inquest to unravel the circumstances that led to the student’s death on Nov 30, 2021.

The inquest is taking place at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

    Rosemary wept profusely while testifying.

The Coroner, Mr Mikhail Kadiri, had to stand down proceedings two times to enable her to pull herself together.

According to the witness, she could not take the late student to the hospital on the day he arrived home from school with complaints, few days before his death.

She said she could not take him to hospital because the hospital was occupied.

“I could not take him to the hospital from Friday to Monday, but did so on Tuesday,” she said.

She further told the coroner that before her son died, she observed that his breathing changed.

Okpokpo asked her whether she had seen the doctor’s report and whether she would be surprised to learn that the report stated that her late son’s bones were in good condition.

The witness replied in the negative.

The family’s lead counsel, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), however,  objected to the defence counsel’s question as to whether the witness would be surprised at the doctor’s report.

“Mrs Oromoni did not author the report nor present it as evidence and should not be made to answer whether she is surprised or not at the doctor’s report,” he said.

The counsel representing the school further asked whether she was the one in a video that surfaced on social media showing a woman holding and supporting the deceased to walk.

She replied: “I was aware of the video and it was shot in my house but I never instructed anyone to make it.

“I was not the one assisting him in the video though I was aware of the video but I can not remember who shot it.

“I do not know how many videos that were shot in my house on that day.”

While being cross-examined by Mr Nosa Iyamo, counsel to one of the students alleged to have bullied the deceased,  Rosemary said that the said video was made for the school.

All the counsel informed the court that there was no other witnesses to be called in the inquest.

Kadiri commiserated with the witness and her family on the death of the student and admitted the statement she made at the police station in evidence.

The coroner directed that all the counsel should file their final written addresses in two weeks’ time.

Kadiri adjourned the case until Nov. 20 for adoption of the final written addresses.

The coroner had on Sept. 3 invited the mother of the deceased to give evidence.

Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.  reportedly died on Nov 30, 2021, at a private hospital in Warri, Delta, after alleged health complications at Dowen College, Lagos.

The Oromoni family alleged that their son died from injuries he suffered as a result of bullying by five senior students of the college.

They also claimed that he was not treated by the school in a hospital.
