Nnamdi Kanu explodes, says ‘My death will make actualisation of Biafra faster’

…says ‘I am not afraid to die to actualise Biafra’

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has said he is not afraid to die fighting for the actualisation of Biafra.

Kanu explained that to a large extent, his death will bring about a quick actualisation of the Biafra Nation.

He noted that IPOB and indeed other Igbo indigenes have reached a ‘point of return’ in their demand for Biafra.

Kanu spoke in an interview with SarahaReporters. He explained that the government knew he was a threat to the actualisation of Biafra and that is why false information and accusation were purposely disseminated to discredit him (Kanu). He however noted that he won’t relent in pressing home their demands until it is achieved

In his words: “There is absolutely nothing anybody can do. We have crossed the point of no return and there is nothing anybody can do, if I am alive or dead wherever I may be, Biafra will come. If I die, it will be better because it will even make it come quicker.

The media has an interest in maintaining one Nigeria with those that loot, steal and cheat in the political landscape. The more Nigeria continues, the more this criminal and rogues get fatter.

All those spreading nonsense about Nnamdi Kanu know that Nnamdi Kanu is the only person capable of articulating a policy that can get people out of the mess that we are in.

The government wants us to remain poor, they know what they are saying is false but they continue to say so.

People should be more concerned with the gross abuse of human rights being perpetrated by DSS, Police, and Army.

They should ask questions on Amnesty report, the mass grave in army barracks in Onitsha, bad roads despite the resources in the country and unemployed graduates.

The government understands that Nnamdi Kanu means well for the people, downtrodden and those who are suffering, so they turn your mind around because they know you are not disciplined enough to understand that you need to stand your ground to demand what is yours. That is why it is very easy to twist the mind of a black mind.”

  • Tragic! Court sentences eight-week-old baby to death

European Human Rights Court has given its verdict on a case of human rights that will compel a couple to allow their sick baby to die.

The parents of the baby Chris Gard and Connie Yates have been in a long legal battle to save their baby who is suffering from a serious genetic illness.

The baby is currently on life support while treatment options were being considered.

At 8 weeks old, Charlie was diagnosed with mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome and is considered to be only one of 16 babies worldwide with this disease.

His condition is progressive and currently incurable and eventually fatal.

Meanwhile, doctors are developing treatments for the various mitochondrial conditions, including the nucleoside treatment Charlie’s parents have been fighting for.

Charlie’s parents prayed the court to determine if they, as parents, have the right to continue to provide medical treatments for their son or if he should be allowed to die

The parents of the 10-months old baby want the court to let them use a potentially life-saving drug from the U.S. on their son.

They believed that the drug (which is still experimental), would help their son’s genetic condition rather than allow him to die as doctors have recommended.

However, a June 27 ruling of the court held that the application by the parents was ‘inadmissible’.

The court said that the baby was being exposed to continued pain, suffering and distress in pursuit of treatments that were unsure.

It added that any additional treatment would continue to cause harm to the baby stressing that its ruling is “Final”.

“The EHRC also removed the interim measure to keep Charlie’s life support in place.

A spokesman for Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Charlie has been treated since October, has told the parents that there is “no rush” to remove Charlie’s life support.

The spokesman said that any future treatment will involve careful planning and discussion.”

The hospital has said that though there is a deadline in place for Charlie, they wouldn’t have to follow it exactly. The discussion and planning will take some days to work out.

Meanwhile, Charlie’s parents have so far raised over £1.3 million through a GoFundMe account for his treatment.

With the ruling of the court, the parents are unsure what they want to do with the money.

They plan to donate some to the U.S. hospital willing to treat Charlie, while the rest will be put into a charity for other children with similar mitochondrial conditions “so that nobody else ever has to go through what we have.”

She said, “We’d like to save other babies and children because these medications have been proven to work and we honestly have so much belief in them.”

‘We don’t want the death of young people’- Toyin Abraham laments

Toyin Abraham calls for prayers over incessant deaths

Following the incessant wave of deaths in the Nigerian entertainment industry, Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has called for prayers and fasting which she promise to support and bankroll. Recall that three prominent actors, Olumide Bakare, Pastor Ajidara and Moji Olaiya passed on in less than two months which resulted in major shocks in the entertainment industry.

The Alakada actress took to her Instagram page to call on Nigerian youths to support the movement

She puts it this way:” God we don’t want the death of young people in Nigeria. Please God stop the death of youths. God we beg you oh God. God do not forsake us in Nigeria. Please God, forgive us oh lord. Please can we all fast for 7 days? Please join me. This is the time for us to come together as one. Please can we get a church and mosque to pray together? I want to use my voice. I will take up all the bills. This is becoming scary; we need the support of God”.

Abraham began acting in 2003, when Bukky Wright, a Nigerian film actress, visited Ibadan to shoot a movie.Over the years, she has produced, directed and featured in several Nigerian films, such as Alani Baba Labake and Ebimi ni. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ebimi ni during the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards alongside Joke Muyiwa, who was nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ayitale

As a result of her influence, Toyin has also been called upon by politicians to campaign for them. At one of the programs for Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid in 2015, the actress said she was prepared to die for the Peoples Democratic Party on whose platform Jonathan is contesting. But she later came out to apologize to her fans for the comments and urged Nigerians not to spill their blood for any politician.

  • Sri Lanka landslides: Death toll hits 202, hospitals to be evacuated

The death toll in Sri Lanka’s devastating floods and landslides reached 202 while 96 people were still missing, the Disaster Management Centre said on Wednesday.

Sixty-three people were injured and seeking treatment in state hospitals while over 600,000 people have been affected.

Severe rains and strong winds which lashed out across Sri Lanka since Friday have caused major floods and landslides in many areas of the island with the worst affected being the southern district.

As water levels are receding, tri forces along with rescue teams have now launched a massive cleanup operation in order to restore normalcy in the affected areas.

“No less than 83,200 people are seeking shelter in safe locations and many are unable to return to their homes due to fully damaged or partially damaged houses,’’ it said.

According to the World Health Organisation, no less than 16 hospitals in flood hit Sri Lanka have been evacuated fully or partially as facilities have been directly affected by the floods or exposed to landslides.

“With the increasing number of displaced people and lack of space in safe locations, temporary shelter and ensuring access to health services is needed.

“Disease surveillance and vector control is also a priority with the risk of communicable diseases,’’ the statement said.

It added that over the past few months, health partners have recorded a significant increase in dengue cases (53,200 cases with over 125 deaths) compared to annual data from 2016.

“The Ministry of Health has deployed medical teams mainly in Kalutara, Ratnapura and Galle districts in southern Sri Lanka,’’ the UN update noted.

Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena on Tuesday said the reconstruction of 640 fully destroyed houses and 5,329 partially destroyed houses will start soon.

Sirisena who also visited the worst affected district of Ratnapura on Sunday ordered authorities to provide maximum and immediate relief to the victims and ordered the treasury to release funds to compensate those affected.

International aid has also poured into the country with China, the U.S., Britain, Pakistan, India, Australia, Norway and the EU donating funds and sending relief supplies.

The Sri Lankan government has shown gratitude to the international community for its assistance at this hour of grief.

Meanwhile as Cyclone Mora has now moved away from the island country, the Meteorology Department said on Monday that the possibility of heavy rain and strong winds will reduce by coming week.

However, it said fairly strong winds about 50 km/ph could be expected over some parts of the districts.

  • Adeleke: Coroner reveals cause of death

The Coroner appointed by the Osun State Government to investigate the cause of death of Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, on Monday declared that his death was caused by drug overdose.
The Coroner, Chief Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara while giving his verdict in Osogbo, said all the evidence before him in no way pointed to poisoning as the cause of death of the late senator as alleged in some quarters.
“I have critically gone through all the evidence before me. From the totality of evidence the possibility of poisoning of the deceased is not sustainable.
“I have not been able to trace any link to poisoning by anybody. The autopsy report and also the toxicologist’s report are very specific to say there was no trace of poison or heavy metal in the blood of the deceased.
“Therefore it is my firm opinion that he was not poisoned, I so hold.” he said
He said the evidence of the pathologist, the toxicologist, police forensic expert, and the Chief Medical Director of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, where the autopsy was carried out, “all pointed scientifically to the fact that the death of the deceased was caused by aspiration of the gastric content which blocked his airwaves as a result of high level of alcohol, sedative, analgesic which cause the vital senses centre in the brain to shut down resulting in death.”
Ayilara said the nurse who treated the deceased before he died, Mr Alfred Aderibigbe, tried to puncture the scientific evidence, claiming he did not give him overdose but the evidence he gave in court and the police statement he gave were contradictory.
“The deceased did not die of food poisoning, the deceased has an administration of overdose of sedative and analgesic by an unqualified personnel, Alfred Aderibigbe, through intravenous means which action was hastened by the presence of alcohol in the system.
“The deceased had patronised the said Aderibigbe for about 20 years and had taken treatment from him without doctor’s prescription and that the high dose of sedative and analgesic with the mode of administration caused his death.
‘’The coroner, however, recommended that the qualification of Aderibigbe should be further investigated to be sure he was qualified as he claimed and that the office of the Department of Public Prosecution should look into the case file of Aderibigbe with them with a view to determine the appropriate charges, if any, to be pressed against him.
“The public should be sensitised by the government to the need to visit and patronise only qualified medical personnel in treatment of their ailments.” he said

‘Spiritual forces not involved in death of Yoruba actors’-Yomi Fash Lanso

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fash Lanso has dispelled counsels that the recent death of many movie stars in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood, may be triggered by spiritual forces

Lanso noted that Moji Olaiya’s sudden death had thrown them into more misery, especially with the industry yet to fully recover from the deaths of Olumide Bakare and Adesina Adesanya.

According to him:“I do not agree that there is a spiritual reason behind all these deaths in the industry because there is nobody that would not die.People die every day, but when it happens to prominent people, the society begins to read all sorts of meanings into it” he said.

  • Some politicians sponsored soothsayers, pastors to pray, ensure Buhari’s death – aide

Some politicians sponsored soothsayers, pastors to pray, ensure Buhari’s death – aide

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, yesterday alleged that some members of the political elite in Nigeria travelled to Niger Republic and India among other countries to hire marabouts to ensure the President dies.

She claimed that the same set of people also engaged pastors and bishops to pray for the President’s death and that the religious leaders resorted to attacking Buhari when he did not die despite their prayers.

Onochie disclosed this on her Facebook page just as the President’s latest medical vacation entered its second week.

She however did not disclose the identities of the politicians and the pastors she claimed were hired.

The presidential aide said there must be a reason why the politicians did not want to see Buhari in power.

She said that was why they rigged him out in his first three shots at the Presidency and now they wanted him dead after he got his victory at the 2015 presidential election with the support of the card readers introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Onochie alleged that before the election, when it was obvious that Buhari would win, the politicians “scammed” former President Goodluck Jonathan to postpone the election so that they could further empty the treasury.

She wrote, “There must be a reason why some members of the political elite in Nigeria do not want to see President Muhammadu Buhari in power. They rigged him out of elections in the past and now that Nigerians overpowered them with the support of the card reader, they want him dead.

“In 2015, when it was obvious the electorates had their eyes set on him, they scammed President Jonathan to postpone the election and to further empty the Nigerian treasury so they could ‘buy’ more electorates.

“But they knew Nigerians were not ready to be bought so they pocketed the campaign loot. Those who took part in the scamming of ex-President Jonathan, are being asked to cough up and the junkiest of them all, is cursing and swearing because he is being held accountable.

“Transition was a scam. Financial books were cooked. They tried to cover up their financial wickedness and recklessness against this nation. They hired some school dropouts, products of their 16 years of mis-governance across the nation, to try to disrupt the nation.

“And then they hired red, green, blue, and all shades of media outfits to unleash a coordinated attack on his government. Bravely, he soldiers on.

“They travelled as far as Niger Republic, India, etc. and in vain, they engaged the services of marabouts and soothsayers (mere men), to their own disappointments.

“Pastors and bishops (mere men), whose unholy services were engaged to pray for his death, resorted to attacking him once they have prayed and he did not die.”

Onochie further alleged that the unnamed politicians had been announcing the President’s death on cloned websites, therefore raising exaggerated concerns about his health.
