Are you tired of me – Kumuyi slams Deeper Life members asking for successor

Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, has slammed those seeking the minister who will succeed him and take over the affairs of the church.

Speaking during a Bible study program, the 83-year-old clergyman emphasised that no one has the authority to remove him from office.

Addressing the congregation directly, he said, “Are you tired of me?” he asked, drawing a loud “Nooo” from the audience.

Kumuyi expressed concern over remarks made by an unnamed young preacher in the church, who, during a teaching session the previous week, repeatedly stated, “There is no leadership without a successor.”

“The brother who taught the other Tuesday kept saying there is no leadership without a successor.

“He said it twice. I felt that was too much, more so since your father is still here. God will give a successor at His own time,” Kumuyi stated.

The revered leader also cited biblical examples, insisting that the appointment of leaders is a divine matter, not one for members to dictate.

“You are not going to fight your shepherd, your pilot. I reject any member of the church, whether you are a worker, choir member, or security person, who tries to control me.

“I won’t even take that from my wife because I am the head of the home… I stand where I stand and nobody will put me under pressure,” he said.

Urging members not to interfere with his calling, Kumuyi warned that resistance to his leadership would only strengthen his resolve.

“Don’t try to kill my conviction. It will only make me resist you so that when you get to the other side, you won’t say I did not tell you.

“I will keep on telling you that under your resistance until I go,” he declared.

“If God gives you a pastor that is still very active at this age, with a good voice running everywhere to preach the gospel, and you are asking for a successor, it makes me think you are tired of seeing me around. You don’t want to make me feel I’m imposing myself on you,” he said.

“When the time comes, God will choose a man after His own heart. Don’t try to drive me away, even though I know you cannot,” he added.

The Principal/Chief Executive was represented by the institute’s Acting Director of Science, Dr Niyi Olowoyo.

“Your coming to Warri and creating the time to see your children at PTI is divine and highly appreciated,” Onoji said.

Pastor Kumuyi, thereafter, had a session with worshippers at the institute’s chapel.

Gov Akeredolu turns evangelist, says I’m a child of God’s miracle

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Thursday turned into an evangelist at the Global Crusade of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Ondo town.

The Governor led members of the State Executive Council including the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele and Commissioners as well as Special Advisers to the crusade.

Governor Akeredolu appreciated the Founder and General Superintendent of the Church, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, who is also the convener of Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) for the invitation extended to him and the warm reception.

The six days crusade titled “Triumphant Power” is holding at the Ondo Anglican Grammar School, Along Ife Road, Ondo, between Thursday, August 25 to Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

In his remarks, Arakunrin Akeredolu said he chose to attend the crusade not really as a Governor but as a Son of God who has come to praise God.

While charging the congregation to thank God for the gift of life, the Governor said he is a strong believer in the God Almighty.

Governor Akeredolu described himself as a Miracle Child, adding that those who do not believe in Miracle would not believe in his success story, particularly on his first victory as the Governor of the State.

He said:”We are talking about Triumphant Power of the Son of righteousness. All of us know who the Son of righteousness is. I can not preach to you. I can only say that I am a strong believer in my Lord Jesus Christ.

“I have said it over and over to those of you who are from Ondo state. I am a miracle child. I have confessed it severally. And I said to people, my first election here, not the one I lost, the second one that I won. I have said to people and I said over and over again. If you don’t believe in miracle, you will not believe my success at that election.

“We did it without the support of anybody except God. There is no way I will hear of such a crusade like this , in a state where God has put me as a chief servant, that I will not come. I am here, not really as a Governor, but as a son of God. I am here to praise my father.”

The convener of GCK, Pastor William Kumuyi, who delivered his sermon on “Triumphant Power of the Son of Righteousness”, admonished christians to always believe and put their trust in God.

He noted that “the Son, our redeemer is mighty to save,” hence the people should rely on God who is capable of doing all things.

The man of God explained that believers are not just children of God but sons and daughters of royalty.

  • Kumuyi forced to cancel Aba crusade after IPOB’s warning

Kumuyi forced to cancel Aba crusade after IPOB’s warning

Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has cancelled a global crusade scheduled to hold in Aba, Abia State between May 24 and 29.

This was contained in a statement released on Saturday by the Chairman of the Aba Global Crusade, Pastor James Akpofure.

“As there are currently some security challenges at the intended alpha location (Aba, Abia State, Nigeria), the Global Crusade Convener, Pastor (Dr) W.F. Kumuyi commiserates with our people in Abia State and will be praying along for God’s Divine Intervention,” the statement reads in part.

Celebrating One Year of Global Evangelisation (Global Crusade with Kumuyi), Akpofure said Kumuyi would keep praying for God’s divine intervention in the insecurity bedevilling the South-East geopolitical zone.

Recall that in a statement Thursday, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, had asked Kumuyi to consider the insecurity in the South East and not proceed with the crusade.

“Let him (Kumuyi) and the organisers of the crusade make sure that nothing happens. The security of this region is not good because of political and criminal activities. We, therefore, advise him to stop this crusade for security reasons.

“IPOB will not allow anyone to die because of this crusade scheduled to hold in Aba. The probability of criminals operating as unknown gunmen infiltrating the crusade is high and they will blame it on IPOB,” Powerful had said.

Earlier, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had backed Kumuyi and urged IPOB to allow the holiness preacher to proceed with the crusade. However, the octogenarian heeded IPOB’s warning and cancelled the Aba crusade.

The South-East zone has recorded massive killings and attacks by gunmen in the past one year. Hundreds of civilians, politicians and security agents have been gruesomely murdered by rampaging armed men parading themselves as ‘unknown gunmen’.

Last week, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, also cancelled his crusades in Sokoto and Bauchi states following the brutal murder of a Christian student, Deborah Yakubu, for alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammed. The two states have been tension-soaked in the past few days, even as fresh violence erupted in Bauchi today over alleged blasphemy.

Aba Crusade: CAN replies IPOB for warning pastor Kumuyi

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has reacted to IPOB’s warning to the General Overseer of Deeper Life Pastor William Kumuyi to shelve his planned crusade in Abia state.

CAN appealed to the Indigenous People of Biafra to allow the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, hold his crusade in Abia State.

CAN’s spokesperson , Adebayo Oladeji, said Kumuyi’s coming to the state would be a blessing to the people of the state.

He added that bloodshed and other forms of insecurity in the state and other South East require God’s intervention.

Oladeji who reacted to IPOB’s warning to Pastor Kumuyi to shelve Deeper Life’s planned crusade in Abia State.

It was gathered that Deeper Life Ministry had fixed a 6-day crusade for May 24,2022 to May 29 in Aba.

According to Oladeji, “It is unfortunate that we have killings going on in the South East. If the political will is there, I believe the killings in the region would have ended.

“We have a situation where you have IPOB declaring sit-at-home and despite the assurance by the government, people will decide to listen to IPOB. Is that what Nigeria should be? This is the situation we find ourselves.

“If IPOB issued such a statement, it is just a reflection of what we are going through in the country. This situation is a precarious one. What CAN will say is that our politicians are in the rat race again. We should open our eyes and vote for people who can protect us.

“There’s nothing we can do than to appeal to them (IPOB). We want IPOB to know that his coming to that part of the country is going to be a blessing and bring victory to the people of the state and the region at large.”

TheNewsGuru.com reports that IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, had asked Kumuyi to take note of the security situation in the South East to cancel the planned crusade

Powerful posited that if anything happens to anyone in the crusade the Deeper Life should be held responsible.

According to Powerful , “Let him and the organizers of the crusade make sure that nothing happens. The security of this region is not good because of political and criminal activities. We, therefore, advise him to stop this crusade for security reasons.

“IPOB will not allow anyone to die because of this crusade scheduled to hold in Aba. The probability of criminals operating as unknown gunmen infiltrating the crusade is high and they will blame it on IPOB.

“We ask him to pray for an end to the insecurity in Biafra land if he can. We charge Christians and men of God in Biafra land to engage God in fervent prayers to expose all those behind the insecurity in our land.”

He appealed to Deeper Life to pray against wicked leaders and saboteurs in the South-East and Nigeria, saying they are the real problems of the people.

The statement read in part, “Let him use the opportunity to pray against powers holding the people captive in Nigeria and in his church in Lagos.

“We equally want them to be united against injustice. We had expected them to demand justice for the innocent Deborah Yakubu burnt alive by Muslim fanatics in Sokoto State.

Only dishonest people will say all is well in Nigeria – Obasanjo

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said only dishonest people will say all is well in the country.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Obasanjo said this at a Global Crusade organised by the Deeper Life Bible Church in Abeokuta and monitored online on Tuesday.

While urging Nigerians to have faith in God, the former president expressed optimism that whatever the situation and condition is, all will eventually be well with Nigeria.

He said that considering the situation of things, Nigeria and the entire world required God’s visitation, urging all children of God to seek His face for visitation.

“If you consider what is going on in our cities, our states, our country, our region of West Africa, our continent and indeed our globe, our world required crusade of this nature.

“Some people accused us, Christians of `religioucity’ without spirituality. Yes that has been the position of the world even in the time of Jesus Christ, but should we lose hope? No.

“There is no time in the world that things have been bad that it is not the children of God that stood out,” he said.

He said that Noah stood out in his time and also Job, who God described as a man who feared God and shun evil and a man of great integrity.

“Nigeria needs such men of integrity at this present moment.

“I believe that because of this kind of men and women of such virtue in Nigeria, God will open his eyes and have mercy on this country.

“Unless those who don’t want to be honest with themselves will say that all is well, but if we trust in God and believe in Jesus Christ all will be well.

“Children of God, whatever may be our situation, whatever may be the condition, let us have faith in God, and all will be well,” Obasanjo said.

Meanwhile, the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, who had earlier paid a visit to the former president, prayed God to grant him many more years to contribute to the progress of the country.

Kumuyi stated that his visit was to show respect to Obasanjo and to also invite him to the crusade where he could share his words of wisdom with the people and the global community.

The general overseer, in his message, said that God had prepared complete dominion over circumstances of the world through Jesus Christ.

Kumuyi said that the only way to have complete dominion over problems and other circumstances was to live in holiness and consecration to God through Jesus Christ.

2023: Our destiny is in our hands – Pastor Kumuyi

Pastor William Kumuyi, Founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has urged Nigerians, especially Christians, not to pray for the 2023 elections only but also vote.

Kumuyi gave the advice on Wednesday in Ibadan while addressing newsmen on a forthcoming crusade organised by Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

Speaking ahead of the crusade that will hold in Ibadan from Jan. 27 to Jan. 30, he urged Christians to pray to God to give Nigeria leaders who would turn around the nation for the better.

“Just like a farmer who will always plant before harvest, faith without works is dead. While we pray, we should take actions to come out and vote.

“We need to understand that our destiny is in our hands, we need men of spiritual authority like Abraham who can influence the condition of the nation through their prayers.

“We need men who will stand in gap for our nation, just like the few righteous in Sodom who Abraham asked God to consider when He wanted to destroy the nation,” he said.

Regarding some prophecies made by some men of God about Nigeria, Kumuyi remarked that some prophecies could be fulfilled based on conditions.

“There are prophecies that can be fulfilled at an appointed time, while some on conditions such as the case of Hezekiah in the Bible.

“One can prophesy about a nation or continent, but one’s prayers and faith can always influence/affect the fulfilment of the prophecy,” he said.

He said that the crusade tagged ‘Total Freedom through Faith In Christ’, would feature salvation, healing and deliverance.

“Being the first one in 2022, we trust God that it will be a pace setter. The programme will be transmitted to the world from different locations, and we believe God that great things will happen,” he said.

The crusade will be held at CAC Grammar School, Aperin-Oniyere, Ibadan.
