The publisher of Ovation magazine and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has released the school calendar of his principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

Atiku was flanked by classmates and late mother in the calendar released by Momodu on Wednesday

Recall that Atiku had come under srious scrutiny over some discrepancies in the name on his WASSCE certificate. The former vice president was accused of forging his certificate.

Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had questioned the name “Sadiq Abubakar” in Atiku’s WAEC certificate as against his other documents.

However, Momodu has come out in defense of his principal with some facts to back it up via a post on X.

He wrote: “Explanation is never tedious when you have nothing to hide. It is unfortunate that supposed Democrats resort to bullying and threatening opposition over what should not take five minutes to establish the facts. COMPLETE HISTORY OF ATIKU ABUBAKAR with his classmates, his school calendar, and his dear beloved Mum.”

Atiku makes clarifications on change of name on WASSCE result

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,  the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP)  has explained the discrepancies in his Senior School Certificate Examination, (SSCE) certificate.

Atiku’s aide, Dele Momodu offered the clarification on behalf of his principal on Tuesday via a post on his social media platform, X.

According to Momodu, the clarification became necessary following allegations of forgery against his principal by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Some members of the APC had questioned the name ”Sadiq Abubakar” in Atiku’s WAEC certificate as against his other credentials.

However, Momodu said he forwarded the accusations to the former Vice President, who also provided an answer for the discrepancy.

Momodu wrote, ”The APC busybodies have been bombarding me with allegations of forgery against my Principal, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR (GCON), which I immediately forwarded to him and here is his copious response: ‘Yes I used Sadiq Abubakar to sit for my WAEC and after passing my exams I went to swear an affidavit to say I am the same person as ATIKU Abubakar. I went to ABU as Atiku Abuakar and passed my Exams as Atiku Abubakar. Interviewed as Atiku Abubakar by the Federal Civil Service Commission and hired into the Customs Service as Atiku Abubakar. So where is forgery there?’ – ATIKU ABUBAKAR

”CAN THE APC social media bullies forward the deluge of questions in circulation to their boss and get instant and direct response…
    I SALUTE ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR…”

Ministerial list: Dele Momodu criticizes Tinubu, says team worse than Buhari’s

One of the aides of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Dele Momodu, has criticized  President Bola Tinubu over his ministerial team.

According to the Ovation publisher, Tinubu’s ministerial list was worse than his predecessor, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s team.

He noted that some of the men on his list are unknown unlike what was obtainable in the past.

He disclosed this while featuring on the latest edition of a Podcast, Mic On.

Momodu noted that former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai was an original version of himself when he was a minister under PDP.

According to Momodu: “Every leader has what it takes to be a good resident if he has good advisers and listens to them. It’s just like a journalist without corrections, he will always carry fake news.

“For any leader to succeed, he must look at his team and what I’m seeing now is worst than Buhari’s team.

“What I expected was a star-studded cabinet, I like to recall myself with sweet memories of Ibrahim Babangida’s cabinet in those days.

“We remember them till today, most of the people appointed now, I don’t know them. Under Babangida, I remember Akinyele, Bolaji Akinyemi, Bolasodun Ajibola, Tai Solarin, Wole Soyinka.

“You can’t say that today, somebody is on her way to screen you remove her, that’s disgraceful, it means you didn’t do your due diligence before appointing people.

“In the days of Okonjo-Iweala, Ezekwesili, Nubu Ribadu, original El-Rufai when he was a minister under PDP was original El-Rufai.”

ICYMI: Amid row with Davido, Dele Momodu urges niece, Sophia to calm down

Amid subsisting row between Sophia Momodu and David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, media mogul, Dele Momodu, has advised his niece to calm down.

However, marking Sophia’s birthday on Friday, Dele Momodu wrote: “Happy birthday to my #thesophiamomodu… As you add one year to your age today.

“May God almighty continue to grant you favour, grace, peace, wisdom, prosperity and excellent health… Above all, please CALM DOWN… Love you always.”

TNG reports Sophia claims she is now playing the role of mother and father to Imade. She also hinted at spilling more information concerning her relationship with Davido.

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: “Ethnic factor played out in favour of Obi in Lagos”- Dele Momodu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dele Momodu, has stressed that in Lagos ethnic factors played out in favour of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, which made him win in a state known as the fortress of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Obi won in Lagos State during last Saturday’s presidential poll

According to him, Obi won in Lagos because of the great number of Igbo people in the state.

Momodu, who spoke on Channel Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Thursday, said the ethnic factor played out in favour of Obi because there were enough Igbo people in Lagos.

“What transpired last Saturday, the major factor was ethnic: the Labour Party was able to take over the APC behemoth because of the preponderance of the Igbo people in Lagos. They are everywhere.

“Obi started in the East. He had his base intact. Atiku had his base intact in the North-East and the North-West. The only person who could not hold his base was Bola Tinubu and now you are telling me that a man who could not hold his base is the champion in the North?” he queried.

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: "Ethnic factor played out in favour of Obi in Lagos"- Dele Momodu

“Last Saturday was another sad day for our country,” the Director of Strategic Communications of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

“A faulty process cannot give birth to a perfect process. The Electoral Act was not obeyed. So, whosoever won last Saturday cannot lay claim to legitimacy. That process gave birth to the hullabaloo that we have now,” Momodu stated.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Momodu is a Nigerian journalist/publisher, businessman, and motivational speaker.

He is the CEO and publisher of Ovation International, a magazine that has given publicity to people from all over the world, mainly in Africa.

In 2015, he officially launched Ovation TV and subsequently launched an online newspaper called The Boss Newspapers.

Momodu has received hundreds of awards and honors for his work in the world of business, politics, literature, the music industry and the fashion industry.

  • 2023: Atiku will emerge the president without the support of G5 governors – PDP

2023: Atiku will emerge the president without the support of G5 governors – PDP

As the 2023 general elections draws  nearer, politicians who are loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have  noted that the Waziri of Adamawa will come out tops at the polls, regardless of the position taken by the G5 governors.

They gave assurance that Atiku will emerge victorious with or without the impact of the G5 governors who have decided to withdraw support for him.

They added that the solidarity enjoyed by Atiku cut across party lines, noting that the task to rescue Nigeria from “the ills” of the past seven and a half years should be supported by well-meaning Nigerians, irrespective of their religious and political leanings.

One of the loyalists and the  Director of Strategic Communication, National Election Management Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Committee, Chief Dele Momodu told newsmen in Abuja that Atiku has a unigue character different from other contestants in the race.

According to him, there is no contestant as of now that can withstand Atiku Abubakar in the race to Aso Rock in 2023.

He said “There is no candidate today that can stop Atiku Abubakar from becoming President of Nigeria. None of the candidates has his pedigree, exposure, competence, temperament, and network. He has paid his dues, having staked his life in the growth and development of democracy in Nigeria in the past 29 years. His crowning glory will come in 2023.

“I heard one of the G5 governors saying yesterday that he will announce his preferred presidential candidate in January. We hope they will announce Atiku but with or without the support of these governors, Atiku is winning the election. He will become the President of Nigeria. This is not rhetoric.

“Everyone contesting can list thousands of reasons they should be voted for but we need a man who is an expert at job creation, a unifier, a Nigerian that Nigerians can trust. Wherever he is called to share his vision, he goes there no matter how inconvenient it is. Unlike those who run away from town halls, Atiku is always available to speak about the issues. While others attack him, his focus is on the issues. We do hope these candidates will man up to debate him on issues of security, job creation, economy, sports, infrastructure, and what have you,” he said.

Meanwhile, another loyalist of the PDP candidate, Timothy Osadolor, has said that the Nyesom Wike led G5 governors  are not being taken seriously anymore and as such not posing any threat that could stop Alhaji Atiku from emerging the president come 2023.

  • We are happy the G5 governors are still in PDP – Atiku’s Campaign

We are happy the G5 governors are still in PDP – Atiku’s Campaign

The Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation has expressed delight that the G5 group of governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are still in the party, in spite of their demand regarding the party’s leadership.

The Director of Strategic Communications of the organisation, Dele Momodu, said while addressing newsmen in Abuja, that the fact that they were still in the party was an indication that there was still room for reconciliation.

Momodu was responding to a question on whether the council was concerned that Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Momodu said that he was aware that was not the first visit of Obi to Port Harcourt and his host by Wike.

He, however, said that the fact that the governors still stayed in PDP was a signal of possible reconciliation.

“On the Issue of the governors, I am not clairvoyant, I am not a prophet, I have no idea whether they have dumped the party or not.

”The day they do they will announce that they have dumped the party. We will all know.

“So far so good, they are still in the party and we are happy they are in the party.

“There is still room for reconciliation, all they are saying is that they are not happy and we will continue to pray that peace will reign in the party.

“As for the Atiku campaign council, we remain steadfast, we remain focused and nothing distracts our attention,” he said.

On the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) report on poverty and unemployment rate, Momodu said that Abubakar had solutions to the challenges.

“You can’t give what you don’t have and that is why Atiku Abubakar is the best choice.

“What he has been able to do in public life what he has been able to do in private life when you look at them you will know that he is the most experienced and prepared candidate in the race.

“Today, there is none close to him. He is the one that operated at the national level so he knows what to do immediately,” Momodu said.

Dele Momodu under attack over condolence visit to the Adelekes

Dele Momodu, the father of Davido’s first babymama, Sophia Momodu, has been slammed following his condolence visit to the Adeleke family house over the loss of Ifeanyi.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Dele, who is chairman of the Ovation media group, and his team visited the family house of Adeleke in Lagos to pay his respect for their loss.

Taking to Instagram to share the video, Dele Momodu wrote, “Spent time most of today with the Adeleke family in Lagos…. May God almighty continue to bless and protect them…”

His visit with a camera crew, however, struck many as insensitive as some argued that his purpose wasn’t for condolence but for media coverage.

Others also condemned Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke for wearing a bright smile despite the singer’s mourning state.

  • Verbal Attack: Keyamo, Momodu in war of words over 2023 elections

Verbal Attack: Keyamo, Momodu in war of words over 2023 elections

Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo and the Ovation Magazine Publisher, Dele Momodu are engaged in a verbal war ahead of the 2023 presidential election in the country.

Festus Keyamo is the spokesperson of the Bola Tinubu-Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) while Momodu holds the same position in the PDP campaign team.

Keyamo had earlier said Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu was only after Atiku Abubakar’s money.

Momodu replied saying Keyamo had belittled himself by taking a junior ministerial position in a bedeviled ministry  enmeshed in so much confusion.

”You and I never interacted much other than on occasions when you needed free publicity as always and would do anything for attention. There was the occasion when you had a controversial battle with your date and I called to appeal to you to do the needful. I also called on you at your office to congratulate you on the attainment of your Senior Advocate of Nigeria status. On all occasions, you accorded me the respect that I earned and deserve.
”You will recall that you practically photobombed yourself into our picture the day I walked into Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s apartment in London because it was an opportunity for you to trend. You’re a media creation and we supplied you the oxygen regularly.
”Let me note that unlike you, I was not desperate for any appointment and so did not join APC when I humbly supported Buhari. There was never a time I discussed APC with you, when I had direct access to your Bosses. I discovered the rudderlessness of APC government early enough and promptly, and publicly, apologized to Nigerians for my past support”.
I noticed your rapid deterioration since you took on this job of Junior Minister in a Ministry bedevilled with so much confusion. You need urgent deliverance from your present giddiness and I would gladly oblige you the services of an exorcist…

Replying, Keyamo called the publisher a miserable fellow that overrated himself but crashed like a wingless bird from a futile presidential ambition.

The minister said Momodu and ended up as an hyperactive hireling and attack-dog of perhaps the worst serial loser in Nigeria’s electoral history.

Keyamo noted that his opponent’s only CV to make an attempt at the presidency is no more than mere photo ops with celebrities and the high-and-mighty in society.

“This is the sad story of a hopeless clown in his sixties, desperately looking to pick whatever pieces are left of his life by shamelessly worming his way into the pockets of Atiku Abubabar.”

The APC chieftain said Momodu made himself available to execute dirty jobs against his long-standing benefactor, Bola Tinubu.

Keyamo said Momodu was quick to don the toga of “freedom fighter” on behalf of ex-Lagos governor Akinwunmi Ambode for not getting a second term ticket in APC in 2018.

The Senior Advocate noted that despite serving as a “PR consultant” to Ambode, Momodu came out to praise Tinubu on October 26, 2019 in his column.

Keyamo said Momodu operates from the lowest rung of moral debauchery, adding that the PDP official is a man who provides his next meal ticket.

“Atiku is the latest victim of this con man. If by God’s grace Asiwaju wins the presidency next year, expect Mr. Momodu to do another somersault by shamelessly composing another Oriki (praise)”, the statement added.

  • Copy and paste: Dele Momodu criticism is outright trash without substance – Keyamo

Copy and paste: Dele Momodu criticism is outright trash without substance – Keyamo

    …says PDP intellectually bankrupt

Spokesperson of the APC 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo has taken Dele Momodu to the cleaners, for calling the manifesto of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a copy and paste of MKO Abiola’s legacy.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports this was contained in his reaction to Momodu in a statement he personally signed declaring that his criticism was just a juvenile prose, bereft of details and substance, full of highfalutin nonsense and signifying nothing.

The Minister of State, Labour and Productivity said:” Dele Momodu and his party failed woefully to point out a single example of the copy-and-paste he referred to in the press statement released by him.

He said, it was expected that he would have cited one example of an original document from which we copied and the portion in particular.

While accusing Momodu of speaking from two side of the mouth, Keyamo cited instances where he said that Tinubu will definitely perform as President of Nigeria, if he ever contests and wins.

“It appears the Peoples Democratic Party is unaware that Nigerians have since dismissed it as an unserious and broken opposition party. If nothing at all, its latest press release signed by Chief Dele Momodu attests to its crass unseriousness.

“The PDP’s attempt to pooh-pooh our Action Plan only ended up as nothing but a joke. Even more pathetic and disastrous is the situation Chief Momodu has found himself today. That is, having to stage a complete somersault in a cheap hatchet job against our highly revered candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, simply because he needed to impress his new paymasters.

“Let us remind the turncoat, Dele Momodu of what he said about the same Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu only on October 26, 2019 in a column published in Thisday newspaper entitled, “Bola Tinubu And His Date With Destiny In 2023”:

“I have no illusions that Tinubu will definitely perform as President of Nigeria, if he ever contests and wins. He has a knack for identifying brilliant minds and fertile brains, and the ability to nurture them to greatness. He has demonstrated this repeatedly and almost endlessly. Examples abound without doubt.”

“What is obvious is that even the hirelings of the PDP like Momodu are clear believers in Asiwaju’s ability and capacity to deliver on his promises but have decided to play politics this time around.

“Our expectation is that our ACTION PLAN would inspire other political parties, especially the intellectually bankrupt PDP, to engage us constructively on the initiatives and programmes we intend to implement.

“True to type, PDP has again reacted, in our view, without even reading the content on the document. All they are interested in is the title of our message, not the quality of our ideas. We are extremely amused, but not entirely shocked. This only demonstrates once again their incurable incapacity to act as a credible opposition to the ruling party.

“Dele Momodu should have rather stayed in his accustomed lane of praise-singing socialites and the likes instead of dabbling in the more demanding job of critiquing policy statements. It is clearly not his forte! The quality of his recent write-up is a testament that his team is not made up of experts in governance and policy formulation. He must have gathered his team of photographers and video editors to read through a document that is far beyond their tabloid-centred minds.

“One would have expected Dele Momodu to make clear comparative analyses between Hope ‘93 campaign document of MKO Abiola and the Renewed Hope document of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“He goofed miserably. He was just huffing and puffing without substance. A write-up that was intended to be a critique of a document on its supposed lack of details ended up itself as an empty shell.

“We are surprised that Dele Momodu could ask what our candidate is known for. Since he has asked either out of self denial or selective amnesia, we will answer him with his exact words in the past.

“Hear him in another portion of the aforementioned article: “Tinubu assembled a fantastic team of technocrats and created the gargantuan master plan for modern Lagos”.

“Dele Momodu has lived in Lagos for more than three decades. He surely knows the state of Lagos pre and post 1999. He has praised, on many occasions and at different fora, the imperishable legacies and monumental milestones of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos. In the same piece, Momodu narrated how Asiwaju Tinubu began the “systematic and robust increase of Lagos’ Internally Generated Revenue, making the state one of the richest self-sustaining governments in Africa”, and how “he single-handledly (sic) revived and revamped Local Governments in Lagos and brought developments to practically every part of the state.”

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is known for “his glittering records and achievements in both private and public sectors”.
