    Popular actress, Bayray McNwinzu has revealed the first actor she kissed in a movie.

    Bayray noted that Desmond Elliot was the first actress she kissed.

    ‘The Visit’ star made this known on Instagram on Thursday.

    She wrote:”The first actor I ever kissed was @desmondelliot. I remember it. Because…I mean….it’s ‘the Desmond Elliot’ “.

    “What I most remember is…it was totally PROFESSIONAL.
    Means…no fangs and no choking.

    Nollywood actor turned politician, Desmond Elliot has been slammed over his ‘makeshift cleansing’ project in Surulere, the constituency he represents in Lagos State House of Assembly.

     

    Desmond Elliot who shared photos of some Lagosians using his “makeshift cleansing mechanism” on Instagram, noted that they are situated at “Olodeokuta, Ojuelegba, Love Garden, Hugan Bassey, Masha bus stop, Shirts bus stop, Adelabu, Iponri, Bode Thomas and Ishaga Road”.

     

     

     

    “So we constructed a makeshift cleansing mechanism, where passerby’s or people entering streets could wash their hands with soap and water and also sanitize before entering the streets -pilot works can be seen in these areas

    It was located across the environments. Olodeokuta, Ojuelegbe both sides, love garding, Hugan Bassy, Masha bus stop, Shirts bus stop, Adelabu, Iponri, Bode Thomas and ishaga road”.

    However, dissatisfied Nigerians on social media have taken to Twitter to condemn the project.

    Nigerians slam Desmond Elliot over calls for ban of foreign movies

    Celebrated Nollywood actor and politician, Desmond Elliot has called on the Federal Government to ban the influx of foreign movies in order to help Nollywood grow.
    Elliot said this in an interview with HIP TV.
    “Ban all foreign content, you know, make it difficult for foreign content to come in, so your own local content can grow and then, you need to support,” he said.
    Elliot also noted that the government needs to create an enabling atmosphere for the entertainment business to flourish.
    In a new development, Nigerians on Twitter slammed the lawmaker over his statement.
     


    Desmond was re-elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly on March 9.
    He came under fire early this year when he tweeted news of the commissioning of the public biofil toilet at Love garden field Surulere.
    The toilet, according to him, was donated by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Ladi Lawanson.
    In another tweet on Thursday, Desmond said “This isnt just a building , not is it just a toilet , but one that converts waste to manure so nothing is wasted as we keep the environment clean.”
    Nigerians then took to Twitter to accuse the Lagos lawmaker of doing too little for his constituents.

    Desmond Elliot appreciates constituency, political elders on re-election

    Nollywood actor and filmmaker turned politician, Desmond Elliot, has thanked his constituency members as well as his family and political associates for his victory at the Saturday gubernatorial and house of assembly polls which held in 27 states in the country on Saturday.

    Desmond, who sought re-election as member representing Surulere at the Lagos State House of Assembly, took to his Instagram account to show his appreciation.

    “Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Surulere, Surulerians, Everyone,” he wrote, attaching a ‘thank you’ poster bearing ‘ready to serve’ and with the All Progressives Congress, APC, logo emblazoned on it.

    “Thank you for giving me another opportunity to serve. I promise to be better and give more than my best to make you proud. To those I may have hurt, offended, knowingly or unknowingly pissed off, ahh to those who can NEVER see anything good in me, I’m very sorry. I dedicate this victory to God Almighty. To the memory of my Late Father

    Engr Emmanuel Elliott. My late Step mum. I dedicate this to all SURULERIANS you made it happen .. again.”

    In several other posts, he then listed his political associates.

  • Nollywood star wins Lagos State Assembly seat

    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the Surulere 1 state Constituency election in Lagos State.

    The Returning Officer, Dr Bolajoko Dixon-Ogbechi from the University of Lagos, made the declaration on Sunday, at the Surulere Local Government Collation Centre in Lagos.

    She said Elliot emerged winner with 15,357 votes, while Mr Benjamin Olasunkanmi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 3,628 votes.

    ”That Desmond Olusola Elliot of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner and is returned elected. ”

    According to her, Mr Shitta-Bey Oluwarotimi of Alliance for Democracy (AD) came third with 116 votes; Mr Dawodu Oluwaseyi of Accord Party came fourth with 65 votes while Mr Makanjuola Olaseni of YP came fifth with 59 votes.

    Dixon-Ogbechi said that the total number of registered voters in the constituency was 134939, accredited voters were 20340.

    Valid votes – 19357 while the total number of rejected votes was 973.

    “The total number of votes cast is 20330 while the results of six units at Igbaja/Stadium with RA number 06 were cancelled due to over voting.

    ” So, the total number of votes cancelled in the affected areas were 4091, ” she said.

    Alleged thugs have attacked the vehicle of Lagos House of Assembly candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Desmond Elliot.
    TheNewsGuru reports that Elliot was said to have refused giving the suspected hoodlums money. They got distraught and attacked his vehicle, breaking his windscreen in the process.
    The incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m.on Saturday at the popular Akerele junction, Surulere.
    Fans of Elliot at a nearby polling unit, PU20, Ward 7, Surulere, rapidly called for support to rescue the lawmaker.
    As soon as help came, the hoodlums shot intermittently into the air, sending everyone running to take cover.
    Armed reinforcement soon arrived the scene to restore calm to the area.
    It is unclear yet how many arrests were made.
    The police advised electoral officials to conclude vote counting early before the situation escalates.
    Elliot declared his intentions in September 2014 to run for Lagos State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress. He contested and won the Surulere Constituency in the 11 April 2015 Nigerian General Elections.

    Nigerians have berated Nollywood star cum Politician, Desmond Olusola Elliott, who represents the people of Surulere constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, for commissioning a public toilet for his constituency.

    Elliott, who is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, said the project was sponsored by the Australian government.

    Angry Nigerians who were not encouraged with the project and the state of the public toilet Elliot built for his constituency, took to twitter to share and express their dissatisfaction.

    Renowned actor and politician, Desmond Elliot has condemned popular Ghanaian counsellor, Lutterodt over talking about orgasm on the pulpit.

    The controversial counsellor who was also a guest at Stars in Worship concert held in Ghana noted that orgasm isn’t just important during sexual intercourse ,it is also important in the worship of God.

    Speaking further, Lutterrodt stated that anyone who faces challenges in his sex life would have the same is his spiritual life

    When Elliot was invited on stage, the ace actor condemned the counsellor and called him to order.

    “Counsellor, those words that were coming from your mouth, I’m not lying to you but I have never heard it before. I have never heard them anywhere in my life, how can you confidently talk about orgasm in the presence of the lord. We can only have one of your type in West Africa. Honestly, if we had two, there would be trouble, please don’t bring your orgasm program to Nigeria oh” Elliot said.

  • Desmond Elliot to lead Kwavithon 5K race in Lagos

    Determined to extend love and support to survivors of sexual assault and rape, popular Lifestyle Coach, Kwavi Agbeyegbe, has created a campaign, #MiraclesForMirabel aimed at providing a platform where victims of sexual assault can speak up and also create conversations on what can be done to reduce rape in our communities and society at large.

     

    The Atlanta-Georgia-based mother of two is set to hold the second edition of her ‘Kwavithon 5K race’ event in Lagos on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

    The race will be led by Honorable Desmond Elliot, a lawmaker and filmmaker

     

    Shedding more light on the ‘Kwavithon 5K race,’ Ms Kwavi emphasized on the urgent need to create more awareness for the sake of the children.

    She said, “The race which would start at Seven8, Playground, 13B Adebayo Doherty, Lekki Phase one, is targeted at creating awareness, as awareness creates change. Once you tell one person, they will tell another, using social media, word of mouth and other methods. And before you know it, a movement has start. I believe every individual has interest in the dialogue of cases relating sexual assault and rape.

     

    Speaking further about the position of Mirable Center in taking care of those who have unfortunately encountered a form of sexual abuse or the other, Kwavi noted that: “Mirabel Center provides holistic and high quality medical and psycho social services to survivors of sexual assault and rape.The majority of the people coming through the doors at the Center are younger than 14 years of age, while some are even less than a year old. They are young children whose lives have been changed in a drastic way by those that were meant to love and protect them”.
