A Nigerian -Canadian scholar and former journalist with The Guardian Newspapers has been appointed as the Director of Carleton University’s Institute of African Studies. Otiono first became Assistant Professor at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, in 2014, thereby becoming the first appointee of the then newly found Institute of African Studies.
