Actress Caroline Danjuma opens up after divorce, says I blame myself for not making my marriage work

Nollywood actress, Caroline (Hutchings) Danjuma, has opened up on her divorce after she split from her former husband, Musa Danjuma.

The actress on her Instagram page said she had blamed herself for not making a perfect marriage and she only realized she was not a failure when she started to heal.

According to her, she dealt with the hurtful words and constant mockery from friends and strangers who did not know what truly happened to her marriage.

    She wrote;

“I blamed myself for not making a perfect marriage, I blamed myself for both faults of ours until I started healing then I knew I was not a failure.

“I prayed to God for assistance most importantly to forgive myself and him. Rather than hate the outcome of what was, I chose love and peace of mind for what is.

We both ain’t perfect and that is what makes us human.

“I dealt with the hurtful words from friends and strangers, the stigma and constant mockery without knowledge of what truly happened.

“God whispered, I am with you and that was it. My journey to finding me began and I never looked back. I came, I saw, I conquered , most importantly I have found my lost identity. Healed, restored, unprovoked, loving and blessed ..#howcarolynagothergrooveback.

“Thanks to @lanreolusola who spoke through the words in the Bible to help me find my way. Some of us are better off as friends than lovers.

“It is ok to see a professional counsellor, you ain’t mad you just need clarification. It is ok to fail and rise again. Let God lead you. No hate but love always. Accept your faults forgive the other and move on in peace.

“This is my first time talking about my divorce, not an easy journey, most times very painful moments especially if you are a perfectionist and kids are involved. Kill the hate it will only ruin you.

“If you are wondering how you will pick up financially trust me you will, just stay focused and determined. Love without regrets .

Palace reacts to Queen Naomi’s divorce from Ooni of Ife

The palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has reacted to the trending report of Queen Naomi’s divorce from the Yoruba monarch.

It denied knowledge of the report that the marriage between the monarch and his wife has ended.

Queen Naomi had announced through her social media handles on Thursday that her marriage to Ogunwusi has ended.

But in his first official reaction to the claim, the Director of Media and Strategy, Ooni’s palace, Moses Olafare, said as of Wednesday evening, Ogunwusi and Naomi went to bed as husband and wife.

According to him, separation in marriage cannot be done by one of the parties, stressing that probe will be launched into whether or not Instagram page of Naomi was hacked.

Olafare, during an interview with our correspondent, said, “Separation is a two-way affair, it is not something that is announced by one party. The announcement of separation is subject to agreement by both parties.

“The palace is not aware of such separation because we all went to bed last night (Wednesday) the two being the king and queen.

“So, if by this morning, the queen went to social media to write that she is no longer in marriage with Ooni, we will look into it to see whether or not the Instagram page truly belongs to her, and to know the reason behind it.

“But as of today, this moment, the palace is not aware of the separation. Marriage is a private affair, no matter how prominent the personalities involved, it is a private affair.

“We will dig deeper and know what happened, but like I said, all of us just woke up to read about the separation on social media.

Even by this time yesterday, (Wednesday) kabiyesi was still packaging special gift for her.

“If you want to separate with someone, you cannot be packaging gift for her. I was aware that Kabiyesi was putting special Christmas gift together for her. If he is not in love with her, he cannot be doing that. In fact, the Christmas gift has been delivered to her already.”

Actress and philanthropist, Foluke Daramola- Salako, has reacted to viral online reports claiming their marriage has hit the rocks.

The role interpreter said she feels terrible, adding that the only thing society wants to read about is celebrity scandals.

Speaking in a chat with Punch, Salako said:”I feel so terrible and frustrated when in a society, the only thing we ever want to read about and celebrate is scandal and marriage break-up. I don’t know why some people are just devilish and may be depressed to the extent they feel that there’s a need for them to just sit somewhere and write rubbish at the detriment of someone who has been building her name for a long time. They want to dent my image without thinking of the repercussion of their actions. I think that we’re in a very terrible society where we only celebrate negativity and scandals. I don’t know why some disgruntled elements will just feel a need to want to continue to rubbish and drag my marriage in the mud. It is so preposterous and annoying”.

Speaking further, she added that it is a price to pay for being a celebrity.

“Unfortunately, it is a price to pay for being a celebrity in this part of the world. I grew up understanding the culture and sanctity of marriage. I grew up understanding the reason why one has to be responsible to be in a man’s house. I understand that’s the culture in Nigeria. But in recent times, I found out that there are disgruntled elements who are hell-bent on spoiling a good name for whatever reason
