APC has grounded Nigeria, PDP is dead party — Kwankwaso

Ex-presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Tinubu, stating that its unpopular policies have worsened poverty and hunger, while also exacerbating the security situation in the country.

Kwankwaso, who stated this at the 7th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the NNPP in Abuja on Monday, also described PDP as a dead party going by the crisis the PDP is currently passing through.

While describing the NNPP as the fastest growing party in Nigeria, he said it’s the only party that can provide true leadership that will address the needs of Nigerians and bring succour to them.

“Our party has been doing so well to the extent that we at the level of leadership are satisfied with our progress.

“And of course, that will always go with envy outside our party, go with many attacks from within and more importantly outside the party.

“I’m so happy despite all the challenges, today our party, is the fastest growing party in this country.

“I remembered when I visited Katsina State to open our state office, there I mentioned that the two parties, especially the PDP was dead and there were so many concerns within the fold of PDP.

“I’m sure while I was making that statement, many of them did not see what is happening today that the party is being made into pieces, the party is imploding and therefore if they didn’t understand that time, now I think they would agree with all of us that the party was dead.

“The APC as it stands today you can see that the leadership is just up there in the air and the entire nation the people of this country are in the ground.

“At that level whether they believe they are doing well but all of us, especially the voters in this country believe they are performing very very badly especially if you look at the issue of security, the level of poverty in the country and of course the issue of hunger that we’re witnessing in this country.

“So, thank God that the two parties are both going down and our party, the NNPP is going up. We thank Almighty God for that,” the former governor said.

Emirship tussle: Kwankwaso accuses FG, APC of destabilising security in Kano

The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has accused the Federal Government and the All Progressive Congress (APC) of playing politics with the Kano Emirship tussle.

Kwankwaso declared that using federal security agencies to protect deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero is a ground ploy by the APC and Federal Government to create security tension in Kano.

Kwankwaso condemned the situation in Kano, alleging that the federal security agencies, “with constitutionally assigned responsibility for ensuring peace, law and order, have been backing the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.”

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the construction of 82 kilometres of rural road networks in his hometown, Madobi, Senator Kwankwaso said, “People of Kano will resist any attempt to undermine the constituted authority in the state.

“We have mass followership because people believe in us. We are pro-people and the NNPP administration is determined to serve them anywhere they voted for it.

“We will not fold our arms and watch enemies of the state destroying the peaceful co-existence of our dear state, as we shall do everything possible to support the governor to succeed. I am happy that he is not distracted and is focused on achieving his goals.

“There are people from Kano, enemies of the state, who also suffer mental illness and are the ones advising the Federal Government on how to take over Kano through the State of Emergency. This is the madness of the highest order that the good, peace-loving and committed people of Kano will resist.

“In the build up to 2027, some desperate politicians are already on a mission of disruption, but we will rather prefer the two of us to loose than to allow them crush us. We dare anybody, who thinks he can victimise us politically, to go and be rest assured that we are ready for the fight.

“We are not afraid to be out of power because we will remain politicians in or out of government. We cannot run away from our destiny, we are humans, we know what is good for us and we will pursue it vigorously.”

He further stated that, “the Federal Government is listening to some unpatriotic politicians from Kano, who will only contribute to its failure because the people of Kano will resist any attempt to undermine the constitutional responsibility of the Governor by any individual or group.

“We are open to dialogue, truce and reconcliiation, but we will not accept intimidation and political harassment of any sort. We know how to play politics and we have all it takes to protect ourselves from any evil.”

  • NNPP faction to probe Kwankwaso over N1bn ‘forms money’

NNPP faction to probe Kwankwaso over N1bn ‘forms money’

A factions of the New Nigeria Peoples Party under the leadership of Major Agbo has announced that it will investigate the presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and some of his loyalists over an alleged misappropriation of over N1 billion generated from the sale of nomination forms.

The faction accused a chieftain of the NNPP, Buba Galadima, of favouring and imposing certain party candidates ahead of other aspirants.

The allegations were made in a statement released on Sunday by NNPP factional National Publicity Secretary, Abdulsalam Abdulrasaq, after a meeting at Abuja National Secretariat.

He said, “NNPP will conduct a thorough probe into the mismanagement of well over one billion naira raised from the sale of forms to aspirants from March 2022 to date. The meeting resolved to invite relevant security agencies to properly examine the accounts of the party with a view to demanding explanations from the party’s presidential candidate, the party’s chairman who left in March 2023, the sacked acting chairman, and the National Secretary.

“This is to restore the confidence of party members and candidates who came forward with their hard-earned money to purchase forms. The party also queried the rationale for the location of the Situation Room in the presidential candidate’s personal residence.

“It noted that the illegal location created room for massive corruption and manipulation leading to the imposition of candidates by Buba Galadima and his co-travellers and resolved to set up a committee to launch a probe into it. It therefore called for written complaints from aggrieved candidates who were shortchanged after making payments for forms into the party’s account.”

Continuing, Abdulrasaq confirmed that the faction has withdrawn from the earlier Memorandum of Understanding it signed with the Kwankwasiya Movement and The National Movement, insisting that the principles of the two groups are targeted at massaging the ego of its sole owner and not in line with the party’s policies of inclusivity.

He also promised to probe why the party favoured Kwankwaso and allegedly denied other aspirants running for the same ticket.

“The party also resolved to query the rationale behind the denial of other presidential aspirants the right to purchase form and participate in the primary election that illegally produced Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso insisting that it was against the spirit of fairness and equity which our great party preaches.

“The party called on its numerous members and supporters to remain calm in the face of this brazen assault of the Kwankwasiya movement whose members were erroneously made to believe the party is sold to them and called on all aggrieved and displaced members who left for whatever reason to return home. The party resolved to overhaul its structures across all levels nationwide in the coming days and weeks,” he said.

Reacting, National Auditor of NNPP, Ladipo Johnson absolves Kwankwaso of any wrongdoing, saying all the allegations leveled against him were frivolous.

Johnson also wondered why the allegations were not raised until the factional leaders were expelled from the party.

“Does Kwankwaso sell forms? He is neither an official of the party nor an accounting officer. Why are you taking them seriously? It should be obvious to the whole world what these people are trying to do. They have been expelled.

“These are ex-members and renegades who are no longer in the party. I think the sooner Nigerians move to more serious issues relating to the economy and to the Niger crisis, the best for us. Since people like Agbo have formed their own NWC, they should sell nomination forms and teach the world how to manage N1b. I wonder how many candidates NNPP has that we sold N1b worth of forms.

According to Kwankwaso,  Obi’s chances of winning the presidential election depends on a merger with him.

Kwankwaso made this statement while appearing on Channels Television’s ‘The 2023 Verdict’ Friday evening.

According to Kwankwaso: “You see, I can tell you, and I’ve said it here on this chair when we were about to come together, and I said it that the only opportunity they (Labour Party) had was for us to come together.”

A few weeks ago, Kwankwaso disclosed why the proposed merger with Obi did not work out.

The former Kano State governor said it failed because Obi’s LP was at the peak of a media hype.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the presidential election in the country would take place on the 25th of February 2023 across the country.

2023 Elections: Kwankwaso gives only reason to step down

The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso has stated only reason he could be stepping down to support another candidate in the forthcoming general elections in the country.

Kwankwaso said he is a PhD holder with over 30 years in politics, hence he’s more qualified than many candidates  to rule Nigeria.

Speaking at the Chatham House in London, Kwankwaso said competence should be the yardstick in picking Nigeria’s next president not sentiment.

Noting that he has been a governor for eight years and Senator, Kwankwaso vowed to only withdraw from the presidential race to whoever is more qualified than him.

According to Kwankwaso: “I’m a PhD holder in civil engineering. I check your candidate for what he has. I have been in the system for over 30 years now. I wasn’t a trader.

“If anyone wants Kwankwaso to withdraw, let’s bring criteria and select the best.

“Anytime I have a better candidate, I’m ready to talk to him. If you have a party which is based on ethnicity and religion — that is the difference between the Labour Party and our party, which is a national party.”

2023 Elections: Kwankwaso pronounces APC, PDP dead politically

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP),Rabiu Kwankwaso has predicted the outcome of the forthcoming 2023 general elections in the country.

Kwankwaso described the  All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as dead political parties who have nothing to offer anymore.

Kwamkwaso made mention of this during a visit to Ado-Ekiti for his campaign movement to the South-Western part of the country to canvass for votes.

Speaking at the Palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, he berated both parties over what he termed bad leadership, economic problem, adding that the two major political parties have failed the nation.

The former Governor of Kano State recounted achievements his administration garnered when he was the Governor, saying such would make life more abundant for every Nigerian citizens if elected come 2023.

“APC and PDP are dead, they are finished, and it is our party that will win the next year Presidential Election by God’s grace, we are on ground in the North, we will win the polls.

“Why I’m different from all Presidential Candidates, is that I go round the country on roads, not only the state capital, not only the local government areas, this made me had first hand information on the way and manner our people live.

“The NNPP is based on the talakawa (masses), voters and good people of this country who believe in us. Nigerians know the APC and the PDP very well and they’ve failed. The two political parties themselves know that they’ve failed. The only chance they have is to buy votes.

“If the Election take place today, NNPP has a brighter chance, no Political party can defeat NNPP, the PDP has been wounded in the Southeast by the emergence of some Political parties, of course in the North, we have caged PDP, even in the South South they are no longer popular because of the Presidential primary contest, and the APC has failed the citizens, no right thinking Nigerian will want the status quo to remain, meaning this terrible situation to continue.

“I’m part of the formation of the PDP in 1999, so also the APC, Unfortunately the two Political parties drew Nigeria back to square one, or even worst in performance, this is why we formed the NNPP as a credible alternative to the two Political parties, we want new Nigeria. So, I’m so happy we have this party NNPP, and also happy that all Nigerians especially those earning their living, especially the masses, women and young men are trooping into the NNPP.”

He also noted that the dilapidated road network in Ekiti State and other states has affected security, economy and education of the country hence, his decision to contest again in order to make the country better

“The road from here, Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo to Abeokuta and from here to Akure is in deplorable condition, it’s the same story, it’s the same story about us, the roads are reflection of what is happening in other sectors of transportation, like railways, waterways even in the aviation industry, and put them together they are also a reflection of what is happening in this country, in terms of economy, in terms of insecurity, in terms of education and so on, and all these put together, are the reasons while I decided to contest again to right the wrong.” He said

Kwankwaso in Warri, inaugurates Delta South campaign office

The Presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, has inaugurated the Delta South Senatorial candidate’s campaign office in Warri ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Kwankwaso who arrived in Warri on Saturday to inaugurate the campaign office, solicited support for retired Commodore Omatseye Nesiama, the party’s Delta South Senatorial candidate.

The NNPP presidential candidate noted that official campaign had not started.

He said that the large turnout of party faithful to welcome him in Warri attested to the popularity of Commodore Nesiama and the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kwankwaso and his entourage were earlier received by Commodore Nesiama and other party faithful at the Osubi Airstrip in Okpe Local Government Area.

Before the arrival of Kwankwaso,  scores of party supporters had dumped their engagements for NNPP during a “Hope Walk” on Saturday.

The hope walk was organised by Nesiama’s Campaign Organisation as part of the activities lined up for the arrival of Kwankwaso and inaugurating the Delta South Senatorial office of Commodore Nesiama.

The movement began from McDermott Junction in Igbudu community and traversed Deco Junction, Okumagba Avenue,  Estate, Okere Market and terminated at the secretariat of the Nesiama’s campaign office at Odion Road.

The party faithful said they were tired of failed promises and that their “former parties were not carrying them along in the scheme of things.”

Addressing them, Nesiama urged the people to have their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), noting that the card was the tool for them to elect candidates of their choice in the forthcoming general elections.

While noting that elections were not a do- or- die contest, Nesiama stressed that the hope of the people had been rekindled with the presence of people like him in the race.

“The movement is to sensitise the people to the need for them to collect their PVC’s because without the card, you can not vote. In other words, you have forefeited your rights to decide on who you want.

“I encourage people to replicate the zeal they displayed during the voters registration in the collection of their PVCs. They should protect their vote and ensure it counts.

“The people of Delta South have moved out to show that they love the Commodore of hope, they love the NNPP coming with new possibilities for them.

“That is the joyful thing. I am elated. I am overwhelmed and I thank God for that opportunity and for the impetus to do more.

“It’s obvious with the turn out of people that nobody was hired. Nobody was bought. People came out enmasse to support this movement,” Nesiama said.
