Kanye West, Drake end decade-long feud

Kanye West and Drake seem to have put aside their differences after Kanye posted a friendly photo of the two together on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

Kanye, 44, and Drake, 35, were seen standing next to each other and looking relaxed while accompanied by the music executive James Prince outside Drake’s Toronto mansion on Monday, Dailymail reports.

The apparent reconciliation came just over a week after the Jesus Walks rapper shared some rare praise for the Canadian actor-turned-musician during his Drink Champs interview, even as he blasted him over threatening lyrics.

Dave Chappelle, Kanye West and Drake also hung out together at a bash.

Kanye and Drake were seen standing next to each other on stone steps leading up to a stone building’s front entrance.

The Donda rapper was dressed casually in a black hoodie with matching jeans and tall black rain boots, and he sported a badge on a lanyard around his neck.

Drake had his hands in the pockets of his plaid jacket and wore dark jeans with white trainers, while Prince cocked a finger gun at the camera.

Kanye, who has changed his legal name to Ye, cleared up any confusion about the meeting by simply captioning the photo with an emoji of a dove holding an olive branch in its beak.

Drake revealed that the former collaborators were spending time together in his hometown of Toronto in a subsequent post to his own Instagram account.

The newly reunited friends mugged for the camera and were bathed in purple light. Drake waved at the camera as Kanye began to bizarrely let out a buzzing, whining sound.

Another video featured controversial comedian Dave Chappelle as he warmed up a crowd inside Drake’s Toronto mansion.

Kanye also shared more of Chappelle’s toast to the two rappers in his Instagram Stories.

‘Make some noise for Kanye and Drake,’ he said to cheers from the audience. ‘And make some noise for our reconciliation,’ he continued, adding, ‘We got work to do.’

Drake captioned his post, ‘You have reached your destination,’ and he tagged the photos to make clear that they were in Toronto.

In Prince’s post with the same photo Kanye originally shared, he suggested the once-estranged rappers might join each other on stage soon.

‘What a beautiful night I had last night in Canada. Let’s make history December 9 Free Larry Hoover Concert,’ he wrote.

Last week, Kanye invited Drake to perform at the benefit concert in an Instagram video featuring Prince.

The Monster rapper has been advocating for the release of Hoover, a former gang leader who was convicted of murder in the 1970s and is currently serving a life sentence, and he previously made his case on a track on his recent Donda album.

Drake breaks silence on Astroworld Festival disaster

Renowned Canadian rapper, Drake, has broken his silence on the disastrous events of the Astroworld Music Festival which happened last Friday.

The concert, which was held in Houston, Texas, led to the demise of eight persons. About 300 others were also injured due to the crowd surge that occurred during the event.

Houston Mayor, Sylvester Turner said, during a news conference on Saturday evening, said that the deceased were between the ages of 14 to 27, CNN reports.

Drake who performed alongside his colleague, Travis Scott, who doubles as the organiser of the Festival, released a statement via his Instagram page on Tuesday.

He said, “I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy. I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself.”

The God’s Plan rapper said his heart is “broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering.”

“I will continue to pray for all of them and will be of service in any way I can. My God be with you all, “ he stated.

In the same vein, Scott had earlier released a statement on Saturday where he expressed his devastation and also promised to assist authorities in their investigation.

“My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life,” he tweeted on Saturday.

Travis Scott promised in a statement released on Monday, to pay funeral costs for the deceased, and also partner with a medical facility to offer mental health services to those who have been affected by the tragedy.

  • Travis Scott, Drake sued as eight die in Texas concert

Travis Scott, Drake sued as eight die in Texas concert

Rappers Travis Scott and Drake have been sued for having “incited mayhem” after eight people were killed and dozens injured in a crush during a Texas concert, the law firm confirmed on Sunday.

Texas firm Thomas J. Henry Law on Sunday tweeted a story published by the Daily Mail on the suit, confirming it had filed “one of the first lawsuits in Travis Scott Astroworld Festival tragedy.”

The plaintiff is 23-year-old concertgoer Kristian Paredes, who was one of those “severely injured” at the concert on the night of November 5.

Around 50,000 people were in the audience at Houston’s NRG Park when the crowd started pushing toward the stage as Scott was performing, triggering chaotic scenes.

Texas-resident Paredes, who is also suing concert organizers Live Nation and the venue, “felt an immediate push” at the front of the general admission section as Travis Scott got on stage, the complaint said.

“The crowd became chaotic and a stampede began,” it went on.

“Many begged security guards hired by Live Nation Entertainment for help, but were ignored.”

The suit, filed in Houston’s Harris County court, claims Scott “had incited mayhem and chaos at prior events” and that “defendants knew or should have known of (Scott’s) prior conduct.”

The suit also accuses Canadian rap superstar Drake, who joined Scott’s headline set, of contributing to causing the surge toward the stage.

“As Drake came onstage alongside of Travis Scott he helped incite the crowd even though he knew of Travis Scott’s prior conduct,” the complaint charges.

He continued to perform even as the “crowd became out of control” and the “crowd mayhem continued,” it added.

High-profile attorney Ben Crump announced Sunday he had also filed suit against Scott and Astroworld.

Crump specializes in civil rights and personal injury, and has represented clients including the families of victims of police violence George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.

He and co-counsel Bob Hilliard filed suit Sunday on behalf of 21-year-old concertgoer Noah Gutierrez, who described “a scene of chaos and desperation.”

The lawyers said they expected to file suit on behalf of other concertgoers during the week.

“We are hearing horrific accounts of the terror and helplessness people experienced — the horror of a crushing crowd and the awful trauma of watching people die while trying unsuccessfully to save them,” Crump and Hilliard said in the statement.

“We urge others who suffered physical or emotional injury or witnessed the events of that day to contact us.”

Survivors of the incident described chaotic scenes of people squeezed up against one another, with many struggling to breathe.

Scott, who launched the Astroworld music festival in 2018, reportedly halted his act several times when he saw fans in distress near the stage.

Authorities in Texas have opened a criminal investigation into the tragedy, involving both homicide and narcotics detectives, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner told reporters on Saturday.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said authorities were looking at video footage and talking to witnesses, concert organizers and people who were hospitalized.

He told reporters on Saturday that the eight people killed were aged from 14 to 27, with one person’s age unknown.

The chaos also resulted in 25 people being transported to the hospital and more than 300 people being treated on the scene for minor injuries.

American musician, The Weeknd has said that he will be boycotting the Grammys award going forward after he was shut out of the 2021 nominations.

However, The Weeknd, in a statement released to New York Times, said that he would boycott the awards from now on.

“Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys.

“It’s obvious the system has been hijacked and people are being deprived the opportunity to celebrate their hard work,” he said.

Reacting, Harvey Mason Jr., the academy’s interim chief executive, said the organization is dedicated to improving itself.
