IPOB Invitation: Arrested Igbo leader, Fredrick Nwajagu in DSS custody

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Fredrick Nwajagu, the Eze Igbo of Ajao Estate in Lagos State.

The Command also disclosed that Nwajagu had been taken into the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the Igbo leader was arrested on Saturday by a joint team of policemen and operatives of DSS.

This followed his threat to invite members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to secure the properties of Igbo people in the state.

Speaking in a viral video on Friday, he said, “We must have our security so that they will stop attacking us at midnight, in the morning and in the afternoon.

“When they discover that we have our security, they will think twice before attacking us. I am not saying a single word to be hidden.”

He also charged the public to make his claims go viral.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said Nwajagu was arrested during a midnight raid.

He said, “The operation was carried out at midnight. The security operatives didn’t meet him in his palace. But we found out through intelligence gathering that he had lodged in a hotel in Ejigbo.

“He was traced to the location and arrested around 1 am.

  • Interim Govt Plot: DSS looking for excuse to arrest Atiku, Obi – Timi Frank

Interim Govt Plot: DSS looking for excuse to arrest Atiku, Obi – Timi Frank

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has posited that the alarm by DSS that some persons are plotting a military takeover or planning to foist an interim government on Nigeria is a ploy to arrest Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, before the swearing-in day.

TheNewsGuru.com reports that the DSS uncovered a plot by some persons to foist an ING on Nigeria.

Frank in a statement issued Thursday said the security alarm by the agency was meant as an alibi to crack down on peaceful protesters demonstrating against the rigged 2023 presidential election and to massively arrest opposition politicians in the country.

According to Frank the DSS ought to have used the same intelligence to stop the abuse and killing of Nigerians by terrorist groups over the years.

He said: “The DSS’ purported intelligence is fake. It is a plot to crack down on protesters and arrest opposition political leaders before May 29.

“We have credible information that the DSS issued the statement in preparation for its planned disruption of ongoing protest by Nigerians who are demonstrating peacefully to demand justice and the restoration of their stolen mandate.”

He said: “Where was their intelligence when the Independent National Electoral Commission and Mahmood Yakubu were compromised to rig the 2023 general election?”

DSS uncovers plot to create Interim Government in Nigeria

The Department of State Services (DSS) revealed that some persons are behind the plot to foist an interim Government in Nigeria.

DSS said on Wednesday it has identified some key players in the plot for an Interim Government in Nigeria.

This revelation was made known by series of tweets on Wednesday by the DSS.

According to the DSS,  the plot for an interim government is a mischievous way to set aside the constitution, undermine civil rule and plunge the country into an avoidable crisis.

“The illegality is totally unacceptable in a democracy and to the peace loving Nigerians.

“This is even more so that the machination is taking place after the peaceful conduct of the elections in most parts of the country. The planners, in their many meetings, have weighed various options, which include, among others, to sponsor endless violent mass protests in major cities to warrant a declaration of State of Emergency.

“Another is to obtain frivolous court injunctions to forestall the inauguration of new executive administrations and legislative houses at the federal and state levels.

The service, however, strongly warned those organising the plot to retract from their devious schemes and orchestrations.

DSS cautioned all stakeholders and Nigerians to be watchful and avoid being used as instruments to subvert peace and stability of the nation.

It added that it is monitoring and will not hesitate to take decisive and necessary legal steps against the perpetrators.

Arrest Fani- kayode for making inciting comments – PDP tells DSS

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) Atiku Abubakar has noted that the Department of State Security (DSS) should arrest the Director of New Media of the Bola Tinubu Campaign, Fani-Kayode (FFK) over his inciting remarks.

Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communications to Atiku, in a statement on Sunday, hailed the British Envoy Ben Llewellyn-Jones for penciling down FFK and others for making inciting comments post 2023  elections  in the country.

According to Shaibu,  the former Minister of Aviation, Fani-Kayode, has flawed the Secret Service’s call on politicians not to overheat the polity.

He said that, Fani-Kayode would bring Nigeria into severe chaos if he is left uncontrolled.

He called on Nigerians to regard Fani-Kayode as a joker.

“We acknowledge as timely the statement of the DSS call on politicians not to overheat the polity. But call on the security agency to arrest Fani-Kayode for not heeding the counsel of the DSS when he threatened to make Nigeria ungovernable”, he stated.

prior to the presidential election in the country, the DSS had invited Femi-Fani-Kayode on 13 February over a claim about Atiku planning a coup

  • Why I petitioned DSS to arrest Obi/Datti – Keyamo

Why I petitioned DSS to arrest Obi/Datti – Keyamo

Senior lawyer and spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo has stated reasons why he petitioned DSS over inciting comments made by Obi/Datti in post elections.

Keyamo accused the Labour Party (LP) of “riling up” Nigerians against the judiciary.

The Legal luminary made this comments while featuring on a political programme on Channels TV on Thursday night.

On Wednesday, the vice-presidential candidate of the LP, Datti Baba-Ahmed, insisted that the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, didn’t meet the constitutional requirements to win the February 25 election.

Earlier on Thursday, Keyamo petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) over Obi’s comments, which he described as inciting and capable of disrupting law and order in the country.

“If I don’t say go to court, the next thing I will say is that come let’s fight. Why are they using such sentences in a derogatory manner?

“It is what is provided by law and people have actually retrieved their mandate by going to court. It is only when it does not favour you.

“That is what the LP is doing. That is why I have to petition them to the DSS,” Keyamo said.

“Dangerous” Nigerian woman running mafia ring extradited to Rome

A Nigerian national Jeff Joy, who had been included in a list of the 100 most dangerous fugitives in the world, has been extradited to Italy to serve her 13 years sentence following her arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).

According to the investigations carried out from 2006 to 2007 by the Flying Squad of Ancona, Joy played a key role in facilitating the exportation of Nigerian girls to Holland, Italy and Spain for prostitution with the use of violence and threats of all kinds, also extended to family members who remained at home.

Video released by the Italian police showed the 48-year-old woman who was arrested on June 4 2022, being flown from the Nigerian capital Abuja to Ciampino airport in Rome where she was taken away in a wheelchair by police.

An international warrant for Joy’s arrest was issued by Italy and her extradition was facilitated by a treaty the country signed with Nigeria which came into force in 2020.

The extradition procedure, launched immediately after the arrest of June last year, passed a first step with the favorable decision issued by the judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, followed by an official confirmation from political authorities during a meeting that took place on 10 February.

During the meeting, Nigeria’s Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami,  reportedly informed the Italian Ambassador Stefano De Leo, of the decision to hand over Jeff Joy to the Italian authorities.

This extradition is, therefore, the first pilot case in the implementation of the treaty between both countries, and Joy has been described by the police as a prominent figure in the Nigerian mafia.

The Central Director of international police cooperation Vittorio Rizzi, said African countries are strategic locations when looking for fugitives and also represent elective places for the laundering of illicit funds from organized crime.

“Africa today is a strategic location when looking for fugitives and fighting organised crime,” said Vittorio Rizzi, an Italian police chief responsible for international coordination.

“I spent about five hours. I was subjected to thorough grilling; they were very thorough and highly professional in their interrogation, and I was asked to come back on Wednesday for further interrogation.

“The place anybody wouldn’t want to go, I think is the DSS. If I were to do it a second time, I won’t tweet this same way,” Fani-Kayode said.

Mr Bayo Onanuga, Director Media and Publicity APC PCC while reacting to the development, said they were all worried when they heard that Fani-Kayode was invited by the DSS for interrogation.
