  • I knew I would marry my wife a month Into our relationship – Ebuka Obi-Uchendu

I knew I would marry my wife a month Into our relationship – Ebuka Obi-Uchendu

Renowned media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has revealed that after dating his wife Cynthia Obianodo for a month, he knew he would marry her.

According to him, Cynthia entered his life at the right time in his career.

The much sought-after couple knew each other for three years prior to dating, as they were involved with other partners at the time.

Ebuka acknowledged the initial challenges Cynthia faced in understanding his demanding work schedule.

He, however, stressed a strong conviction about marrying Cynthia after dating for just a month because of the several deep conversations they had

    He said;

“I feel like my wife came at the right time because she came when things started picking up for me. I did see a few exes along the way but after my long-distance breakup, I didn’t get into anything committed until I met my wife because I wasn’t in the headspace for it. When work started I was intentional about building this thing and enjoying my life on the streets until it became serious. I didn’t have any moments where I was dating until my wife.

“I knew her 3 years before we became a thing and we were both in relationships. I was friends with her brother and we followed each other on Twitter. Then on Jan 1st 2014, I sent a ‘Happy New Year’ message. At this time I had been single for almost 2 years and she responded, and that’s how we started.

“She was in HR and from a quiet world. I was working at Ebony Life and the studio was in Calabar so I used to go there two times a month for six days each. At the time our relationship had just started so she didn’t get it initially. So it took a lot of explaining for her to understand. The interesting thing is a month into our relationship I knew we were going to get married. I don’t know what it was, but I think a lot of it was the conversations we were having.”

  • BBNaija: Men are intimidated by our status – RealityTV star, Tacha

BBNaija: Men are intimidated by our status – RealityTV star, Tacha

Tacha said she would love to marry or have a child before the year runs out, if it’s possible.

The celebrity reality TV star made this revelation during Blackbox Roundtable conversation with  the host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Ebuka in his recent episode tagged ‘The It Girls of BBNaija’ asked the ex-female housemates their perspective on marriage.

Ebuka also asked the ladies why there’s a narrative that BBNaija girls are not marriage material.

Reacting to Ebuka’s questions, Tacha mentioned that men think the girls are too powerful and cannot summon courage to approach them.

“I want to have a child this year if I can,” Tacha told Ebuka.

Continuing, Tacha said she feels that men are intimidated by most BBNaija ladies, who she described as ‘powerful women’ when they are out of the house.

“So that narrative that BBNaija girls are not marriage material is wrong. Most men don’t come to us because they feel like there are so many people in your corner so don’t know how to approach you.

“These boys are intimidated. I think some men are threatened by powerful women but the men not coming through is their loss,” she said.

  • Nollywood actor, Tony Umez opens up on playing woman wrapper in all his movies

Nigerian actor, Tony Umez opened up on playing ‘woman wrapper’ in all his movies, saying that whether viewers like it or not, there are people like that and that he is too bothered about being typecast.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Umez made this known while speaking with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on the show Rubbin’ Minds.

“Uhmm. First things first, when you’re given a script and they tell you this is the character you’re playing, you go through the script.

“If you like it, you do it. And of course money is always attached to it. It has to be a good script, then money. Sometimes I tell people after all said and done, to God be the glory. Some ends are contrived. I tell them if I’m playing Tony Umez, this isn’t the way the thing would end.

“But of course I’m not playing me. I’m playing a character. And if you search far and near, you will know that there is somebody that fits into that mold so I am playing somebody who will understand that thing. And I’m trying to tell the viewers that whether you like it or not, there are people like this. You can’t take it away.

“But the script has to be good. The money has to be okay. So I wasn’t too bothered about being typecast because even in Hollywood, you have typecasts,” he said.

TNG reports Obi-Uchendu had asked the Nollywood actor, saying: “You’ve become sort of an internet sensation all over again because of the fact that you were typecast so much back in the day to certain roles. You’ve almost become an adjective for the guy who women kind of “deal with”. Do you see these things?

“And when you were being typecast a lot as the emotional, vulnerable guy – you know back in the day it may not have been normal, these days it’s okay to cry, it’s okay to be vulnerable – at the time, why were you taking these roles? And what do you think about the fact that these days you are the guy who is the poster person for that?”

Why the show host further asked: “But do you see the memes and the jokes these days on social media?”, Umez said: “I see them. I enjoy some. I don’t enjoy some. But they don’t affect me. They don’t affect me negatively. It’s part of show business. So you need at some point in time to develop a thick skin and not let things bother you too much”.
