    Popular Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has blasted Eedris Abdulkareem, over a recent comment on him.

    Burna Boy in 2020 generated reactions on social media over the claim that none of his senior colleagues paved the way for him.

    He said, “NOBODY paved shit for me. Everybody dey find them own. I bin Out here, if you knew the way they made us look weak by begging and paying the western world to like us you will see that no table was set and I’m the one that brought you the Respect you currently enjoy.”

    However, speaking in a snippet from an unreleased episode of ‘The Honest Bunch,’ the ‘Jaga Jaga’ hitmaker reacted to the misconception the Grammy award-winning singer has with his colleagues.

    Lashing out at Burna Boy,  Eedris Abdulkareem said, “You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk.”

    In response, Burna Boy, in a post via X, stated that he blamed the people who donated money for Eedris’ hospital bills during his surgery in 2022.

    He wrote, “Abdul Kareem abi wetin dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish say you be person wey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey, make we use mistake jam.”

    Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem has revealed that he will get back to work soon few months after undergoing a kidney transplant that has kept him indoors for many months now.

    The singer was diagnosed with kidney failure which made him bedridden for quite some time in a local hospital in the country.

    The rapper who has been in the music industry for more than a decade said he could not have asked for a better family and wife who stayed by him and walked with him through the journey.

    Recall that Abdulkareem went under the knife for a kidney transplant in August 2022 in a hospital abroad and it was largely successful.

    Yetunde, his wife was reported to have donated one of her kidneys to her husband.

    Sharing the news of his imminent return to the public space, Abdulkareem who has been fairly active on social media platforms posted on his Instagram on Friday, appreciating his fans and kind-hearted Nigerians who supported him through his difficult times, Thank you Allah for the healing and recovery, Thank you for giving me the strength and good health. I am grateful”, he added.

    Nigerian hip-hop artist, Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja a.k.a Eedris Abdulkareem, has appreciated his wife, Yetunde for donating her kidney to him.

     

    Recall that on August 22, the rapper’s management announced the success of his Kidney transplant surgery.

     

    In an appreciation post on Instagram, on August 24, Eedris specifically expressed gratefulness to his wife for her gesture, describing her as a gift from God that makes his life complete.

    Words cannot express my love, devotion and commitment to my adorable, loving, supportive and compassionate wife, Yetunde, with whom God Has made my life complete

     

    His post reads: “I am specifically giving Thanks and Praises to the Almighty God for my successful kidney transplant surgery over the weekend…may HIS Holy Name be Glorified forever and forever.

     

    “Words cannot express my love, devotion and commitment to my adorable, loving, supportive and compassionate wife, Yetunde, with whom God Has made my life complete…baby, I will always Love, cherish and adore you forever.

     

    “My awesome, lovely children, God Has harkened to your fervent prayers…daddy and mummy will be coming home hale and hearty soon. To my extended family, recording company Lakreem Entertainment, my crew, friends, fans and well-wishers, I say God Has done it for us again, and I will be seeing you guys soon.

    Abdulkareem formed and performed with the hip-hop band The Remedies from 1997 until they split up in 2002.

     

    He continued as a solo artiste and released his first solo album, P.A.S.S. (“Pains And Stress = Success”), in 2002. One of the hits in the collection titled “Wackawickee MC’s” criticized Tony Tetuila, Plantashun Boiz and Double X Posse for their unprofessionalism and troubleshooting antics.

     

    Later the same year, he released an album titled Mr. Lecturer. Its title track attacked students in Nigerian colleges and universities receiving higher grades in exchange for money and lovemaking, as well as exposing lecturers who perpetrate these acts.

     

    In 2004, Abdulkareem released his third album, Jaga Jaga, a Yoruba term for “shambles”, declaiming corruption and suffering in Nigeria.

     

    The title track was banned from radio by President Olusegun Obasanjo, but continued to be played in nightclubs and spots all over the country, and became a sort of underground Nigerian national anthem.

     

    The album cover was by the renowned artist Lemi Ghariokwu, known for creating many album covers for Fela Kuti.

     

    In November 2005, Abdulkareem launched his own record label, Lakreem Entertainment, and released his fourth studio album, “Letter to Mr. President. The album’s title track addressed Obasanjo’s criticisms of “Jaga Jaga”; the album also included “Flash Up Unu Lighter”, a tribute to Obasanjo’s wife, Stella, who died while undergoing surgery in Spain, as well as the victims of the Bellview Airlines crash in October 2005.

     

    In The King is Back album of 2007, Eedris chronicled his travails in the hands of Obasanjo’s government and industry dealers and concert promoters who blacklisted him for standing up for the truth in “Koleyewon” and other songs.

     

    He followed that up with Unfinished Business in 2010.

     

    He released a sequel to “Jaga Jaga” in January 2012 during the Occupy Nigeria protest against the lifting of fuel subsidies.

     

    He has also performed on tracks by other artists including “Bad Guy Baller” featuring Mode 9 and VTEK, Klever J’s “Igborotidaru” Oba Mega and Cecil’s “I am Afrika”.

     

    Known as a social crusader and rights activist in Nigeria, noted for using his music to make his voice heard loud and clear, Abdulkareem released his sixth studio album titled Nothing but the Truth in 2020.

     

    The 20-track album takes a swipe at the ever-recurring bad governance and social ills in Nigeria.

     

    With a plethora of top Nigerian music acts including Dede Mabiaku, Sound Sultan, Ruggedman, Olamide, Myke Pam, Adex Artquake and Jazzman Olofin, the album “Nothing but the Truth” can be described as a collector’s item, with one of the hit tracks “Country Hard” triggering a nationwide social media challenge frenzy on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

     

    In ten years break between his last studio album and Nothing but the Truth in 2020, he released a number of singles that treated divergent topical issues in Nigerian political and social life.

     

    He featured artists like Femi Kuti in the song “Tribute to Fela”, Fatai Rolling Dollars in “Wonkere”, Vector in “Shekere”, DJ Jimmy Jatt in “Onile” and Konga in “Trouble Dey Sleep”.

    Nigerian hip-hop star, Eedris Abdulkareem, has successfully undergone a kidney transplant.

     

    This was announced by the management of Abdulkareem, on Monday.

     

    The statement titled, ‘Latest update on Eedris Abdulkareem health challenge’, was shared on Facebook by Myke Pam.

     

    The statement read: “It is with unspeakable joy and undiluted Thanksgiving that the management of Lakreem Entertainment officially releases the news of the successful kidney transplant surgery on Nigerian Hip Hop Czar and activist Eedris Abdulkareem, and his most gracious donor – his lovingly dedicated wife YT, some hours ago.

     

    “Our unalloyed thanks and appreciation goes out to all well-meaning Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, and all his fans from across the globe who prayed for, cared for, reached out to and supported this wonderful couple during this health crisis. May your individual and collective wells never run dry.

     

    “As the recuperation and healing process begins for both of them, with the best that science can offer, under the ever benevolent gaze of the Almighty God, surrounded by the love and care of family, we ask that the prayers and support be sustained as they gradually get back on their feets again.

     

    “In conclusion, we must emphasis the fact that Nigerians are indeed the peak of the pack when the need arises. We as a People are simply awesome, all that we need is good and purposeful governance. Indeed, our God is good…all the time! God Bless Us All. Hon. Myke Pam.”

    Nigerian hip-hop singer, Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, popularly known as Eedris Abdulkareem, would be honoured by Unchained Vibes Africa and Lakreem Entertainment for his contributions to nation-building.

     

    This was disclosed by the executive producer of Unchained Vibes Africa, Ayodele Ganiu.

     

    “The objectives of the event billed for Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Freedom Park, Lagos are to reflect on the music of Nigeria’s hip hop veteran Eedris Abdulkareem and his contributions to nation building and to sensitize the general public on the role of artists in a democracy and mobilize the artistic community to become more active in civic engagements,” he stated.

     

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the event will provide a platform to draw attention to Eedris’ selfless service to Nigeria through music and his current health challenge.

     

    He added: “Our Lives Matter will be graced by music executives and industry key players, including Dr. Kenny ‘Keke’ Ogunbe, Dede Mabiaku, who are expected to reflect on Eedris Abdulkareem’s artistic journey and his activism respectively.

     

    “Taking a critical look at the current dearth of fearless, patriotic, and consistent conscious artists, what this portends for Nigeria’s future, and the urgent need to safeguard that future, the Colloquium will provide a platform for ramping up support for Eedris Abdulkareem’s recovery from his current health emergency.”

    Hope rises for ailing veteran rapper Eedris Abdul Kareem as wife (Yetunde), has been reported to be his kidney donor.

    TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) recalled that on July 6, Abdul Kareem via his Instagram revealed he’d been diagnosed with kidney failure, seeking prayers and good wishes from Nigerians.

    According to the statement, the “Jaga Jaga” singer is undergoing dialysis in a hospital in Lagos with the transplant date fixed for end of the month.

    Though the family member wasn’t disclosed by the singer’s team, an insider claimed the wife has opted to be the donor.

    “The wife is donating her kidney for him. All that is left now is to get the money needed for the surgery,” the insider said.

    On Thursday, July 21, the rapper via his Instagram page shared details of his GoFundMe account created ‘based on requests’ to aid his medical bill.

    He thanked everyone for the outpour of love and care he’s been receiving upon, revealing he was feeling strong and agile both in soul and body.

    He wrote: “Greetings my Family! This is your brother and comrade Eedris Abdulkareem of “Nigeria Jaga Jaga” fame.

    “Firstly, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you all for the unalloyed love and care you have shown me since this sad news broke. I sincerely appreciate and love you all for this outpouring of genuine love and care.

    Nigerian  hiphop artiste, Eedris Abdulkareem has assured  his fans that he is in high spirit despite being on hospital bed.

    The music star is battling with kidney failure and  presently receiving treatment in a hospital.

    In a video on Instagram, Eedris expressed hope that he would get better.

    The rapper thanked everyone who has reached out to him and his family concerning his predicament.

    “This is me undergoing my weekly dialysis regime in high spirit and with strong belief in the efficacy of your prayers, love and care!.

    “Your assistance, kind gestures, get well soon wishes and prayers are highly appreciated and therapeutic to say the least.

    “Thank you so much and God Bless you! ,” he wrote.

    Veteran Nigerian music maestro, Eedris Abdulkareem battling kidney disease

    Spokesman to Veteran musician Eedris Abdulkareem, Pam has revealed that the ‘Nigeria Jaga-Jaga’ crooner is currently battling kidney failure.

    The singer’s situation was announced on his Instagram page by his spokesman, Hon. Myke Pam.

    Pam noted in the message that Abdulkareem will have a surgical operation at the end of July and hence would need prayers and good wishes from Nigerians.

    According to him, the singer has been undergoing dialysis since the ailment was discovered. Pam, however, said there is no cause for alarm as Abdulkareem is eager to get done with the surgery and return to the musical stage in due course.

    He stressed that the activist is full of life and in high spirit despite the situation.

    The statement titled: ‘Asking for your prayers for Eedris Abdulkareem!’ reads: “The Nigerian Hip Hop Czar, Social Crusader and Rights Activist, Eedris Abdulkareem of “Nigeria Jaga Jaga” fame needs the sincere and unalloyed prayers of all Nigerians and his fans around the world in these hours of his travails.

    “The Lakreem Entertainment Inc. boss has recently been diagnosed with kidney failure and has been undergoing dialysis since the detection at a reputable hospital here in Lagos, Nigeria.

    “The date for the transplant surgery is now fixed for the end of this month of July, and all arrangements and texts have been concluded, including certifying the compatibility status of the gracious donor (a family member).

    Nigeria’s rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has said he would not believe suspended DCP Abba Kyari’s arrest until he sees pictures of him in handcuffs.

     

    Abdulkareem, on his Instagram page, questioned the authenticity of Abba Kyari’s arrest for alleged drug dealing with an international cartel.

    He said: “Supercop in the morning, criminal moonlighting at night. A life of layered pretence and lies.

    It would be recalled that Kyari was arrested on Monday after the NDLEA declared him wanted and released a video of him trying to bribe an NDLEA agent to back up its allegation.

     

    Shortly after the evidence was released, men of the Nigeria Police Force arrested Kayri and handed him over to NDLEA for further investigation.
