One fateful day, the owners of the house chastised me in strong words, telling me to go home and tell my father to buy a television set: I ran home feeling humiliated and abused. After a while, I ask my mother about my father whom I didn’t know, my mum burst out crying in The course of explaining this to me. I felt that I have caused my mother some untold pains and involuntarily joined her in crying!”
My mother, confidante, role model and prayer warrior, Alhaja Safurat Ajoke Ajenifuja has joined the saints.
A virtuous, prayerful, compassionate and caring Mother, a mother of all Seasons and a mother of all is gone. Alhaja transitioned into glory on Friday, July 12, 2019 at exactly 10:35 pm, aged 96.
An Abeokuta, Ogun State born and bred Amazon who teamed with the legendary Fumnilayo Anikulapo Kuti in the struggles and sexiest tax regimes of the day that necessitated the abdication of the Egba Throne by the then Oba Adewole the 2nd in 1949, Alhaja was a collosus in the areas of human rights activism and the fight for the betterment of the society!
A philanthropist of no mean repute who spent most of her life in the ancient city of Kano where she became a caring Mother to so many indigent children!
My mother who vehemently refused to be cowed by the vagaries and vicissitudes of life, having lost eight (8) out of her ten (10) biological sons, trudged on despite all in order to make me the man I am today.
She taught humility without foolishness, truthfulness without fear or favour, charitable and communal living devoid of aloofness and self adulation, unfettered love of All human kind irrespective of religious, tribal and political leanings.
My mother was a woman amongst women! She was my Pathfinder, strength and solace in the times of trouble.
When it became difficult at a point for me to continue my education, Alhaja resorted to selling pepper soup so as to aid my education; I started Soaring early enough because of her support and training.
People talk about my Fearlessness and activism without knowing that most of these attributes are in born, I practically inherited most of my legendary steadfastness from my dependable and incorruptible Mother, who was the also the most prayerful person I have ever met my life.
Alhaja, an Egba thoroughbred from Abeokuta, Ogun State, was buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday at Atan Cemetery, Akoka, Lagos State, amidst family, friends, well wishers and the clergy amongst others.
As we give thanks and Praises for a worthy life well lived to the Glory of God, I want to use this opportunity to thank and appreciate the numerous family and friends who trooped out to give my mother and rock, Alhaja Ajenifuja a worthy farewell!

Eedris Abdulkareem bash politicians in ‘Nigeria jaga jaga’ remix
When Nigeria Jaga Jaga dropped years ago, Nigeria as a country was under the throes of economic, social and security decadence, and the song which went ahead to become a national anthem of sorts succeeded in galvanizing the generality of the masses to stand up for their rights, as well as fight for the survival of our common patrimony!
16 years down the line, the nation has unfortunately been thrown to the dogs, occasioned by bad leadership and the nonchalant attitude of elected officials and appointees of both the federal and state governments to the plight of the common man!
The situation is made worse by the current clanishness, nepotistic and inefficiency of the present administration; the incessant killings by Boko Haram insurgents, Herdsmen/farmers brouhaha that has led to so many avoidable deaths and destruction of properties and means of livelihood!
There are crisis everywhere and the government at the centre seem to be confused and unable to stem the ugly tide unrest and uneasiness bedevilling the society!
It’s on this score and due to an ever increasing demand from the Nigerian masses that the Eedris Abdulkareem has decided to get back into his creative musical kitchen to cook up the socially conscious tune, ‘Jaga Jaga’ series with the aim of putting things aright and putting Nigeria first, yet again.

Anyone who calls himself the next Fela is crazy- Eedris Abdulkareem[VIDEO]
Eedris Abdulkareem, controversial hip-hop artiste, has unleashed a scathing, profanity-laced attack on singers who refer to themselves as the next ‘Fela’.
The veteran’s grudge with these artistes is that they sing about women on Afrobeats Instrumentals which doesn’t represent what Fela was known for.
Eedris made this known as a guest on Jordan FM’s entertainment show.
Lampooning artistes who make this bold claim, Eedris said: “Anyone who calls himself the next Fela is crazy. What kind of music do you play that makes you the next Fela?
“You are using Afrobeat to speak about women , when you are supposed to talk about reality so you can never be Fela. The only Fela that I know is Seun Kuti and Eedris Abdulkareem”.

Recall that Eedris months back condemned Mr Eazi and Davido. He stated that Mr Eazi lacks intelligence and that he’s unwise.
He said: “Number one, you sound like Ghanaians, that’s why you are accepted, you are not original. But because it is an African music, you will be accepted. Who are you to say a thing like that? That’s pride.”

I prayed and fasted for four years before I met my wife- Eedris Abdulkareem
Eedris Abdulkareem is not a newbie in the Nigerian music industry. His songs speak for him. However not much is known about his private life.
The rapper has said that he prayed and fasted for four years before he met his wife.
The controversial artiste made this known in a recent chat with Punch.
According to him: “I was on my way to the video shoot of my song, ‘Life in Yankee’ when I saw a lady trying to fix the tyre on her car. I take everything that has to do with marriage very spiritual because God says that if you want a wife we should ask him. So, I had prayed for a very long time for God to give me a wife that would compliment me. Immediately I saw her, I parked and helped her fix the tyre. Immediately I saw her, I could feel that she was my wife.
“When I parked to help her, my mind told me she was going to be my wife. The first thing I looked out for was whether there was a ring on her finger. I needed to be sure that she was not married. I also noticed that there was a child in her car.
Amazingly, the rapper trailed her to her father’s house, met her parents and told her dad of his intention.
“I admitted to him that she did not invite me to the house but I came because I did not want my wife to run away. Eventually, she came to meet me but was furious because she did not invite me to her house.
“I apologized for the intrusion then explained to her that I wanted to marry her and did not care how long it would take because God told me that she was my wife.
“I was not afraid to open up to her in her father’s house because I prayed and fasted for four years before I met her. She was really furious but I tried my best to apologise. When her father heard all I had said, he asked if I was truly serious and my reply was affirmative”.
