BBNaija S2 winner, Efe, debunks rumours of being blacklisted by show organisers

Big Brother Naija Season two winner, Michael Ejeba better known as Efe Money has denied claims that he was boycotted by the show’s organisers, Multichoice Nigeria, after winning the competition.

During the show’s Season Six finale which took place a few weeks ago, several ex-housemates of the show were present, while some like Laycon, Season five winner, had performances. However, the 2017 winner who doubles as a rapper was conspicuously absent.

Media personality, Noble Igwe said in a tweet, that Efe had fallen out of grace with the show organisers because he had insulted a Multichoice boss. According to him, Efe “sat in the car and asked for Oga to come first before he comes out.”

Responding to the claim, the rapper released a statement via his Instagram page on Monday to debunk the rumours as regards his absence from the BBNaija events.

In the release, Efe stated that the said incident was false and never happened.

“I was brought up in a family and society where respect to a fellow human is highly valued and respect to elders is unquestionable. Unnecessary ego-boosting, protocols, or feeling too much importance have never been attractive to me given my humble background.

“Therefore it is unimaginable for someone to conceive such character from me as a person and create a scenario that never existed. Hence I am clearly stating that the instance (scenario) asserted that is making rounds in the media and public is false and never happened or occurred. This is news to me as it is to you,” he wrote.

The rapper also maintained that he has “a cordial relationship with Multichoice Nigeria and we are one family.”

“Let me take this opportunity to thank Multichoice Nigeria as an organisation, and her members of staff once again for giving me the platform to showcase my talent as a music artist,” he said. “I don’t take the platform for granted. It is a well-cherished investment.”

However, we really miss him in the house because he had a very good sense of humour but he was a very busy person.

“I admired my daddy as an actor. All through my primary school days, I was into acting. He wanted me to go into acting after my WAEC before I got admission into the university and I was enrolled into the acting academy for a while before I gained admission into the university. I am very sure if I go into acting full time now, my dad would be very proud of me but I don’t think I would go back to acting anytime soon”.

“Fraud is bad fraud is bad yes true. But do you know what fraud replaced? Armed robbery and cults. Pick your poison since you won’t fix the real problems. For the sake of full disclosure last tweet on the matter. I dont support crime I’m saying. Fix what’s making people turn to fraud and drugs before you take them away cuz it will worsen the problem. Will delete that tweet because saying it’s the best thing we have is an Insult to jollof. But think about its impact on society. From funding arts to feed millions within our eco system”.

  • Efe has no value, he won BBNaija 2017 out of pity – Tobi

The second runner-up in the just concluded Big Brother Naija, Tobi Bakre, has revealed that Efe, the winner of the 2017 edition, won out of pity.

In a recent interview with Punchng, when asked how he felt when he made it to the final three of the game show, he said: “I was so happy when I made it to the final three. .

I was very happy because I knew that at that stage, anyone of us could emerge as the winner.

I particularly wanted people to love me and see the values that I had because I knew that whenever I left the house, that is what people would still love about me.

Personally, I think that in the last Big Brother that held, people voted for the winner out of pity not because they really saw value or potential in the winner, that is just my personal opinion, I stand to be corrected.”

  • Efe spoke out of anger; let us forgive him- Seyi Law

Nigerian comedian and actor, Seyi Law has expressed his views over BBNaija’s Efe recent outburst.

In his outburst, Efe slammed fans who told him they regretted voting for him during BBNaija.

However, Seyi Law in his recent Instagram post, has urged Nigerians to forgive him, stressing that the ‘Warri’ crooner spoke out of anger.

According to him:”When the world hurts you in criticism in the name of fans and wants you to take it in good faith, forgetting that words kill faster than the guns, but won’t take your words in the same light. When the world makes a man lose his willpower to his own choice and don’t expect him to fight back, but would prefer he is drained in their own choice. The sadness and fear that enveloped me is killing.

There is no doubt there is a place for the fans and as an artiste, you must be cautious of how you walk there. @efemoney has spoken out of anger and made a mistake which might be justified, but could be avoided. We all make mistakes and he who is above them can crucify me. He has chosen a path for himself and you care too much trying to help him avoid mistakes, don’t be the one to make him make more of it.

Let’s forgive him and let him grow and he might just learn to do it right or decide to let it get all go, but let him have a say in his own life. I apologise on his behalf to those hurt and hope we can all embrace peace.

Every man to his life, let him live. God bless you.”
