‘I didn’t know anybody when I came to Lagos’- Efe, Big Brother Naija winner 2017

Winner of Big Brother Naija 2017, Efe Ejeba has opened up on life before BBNaija. The based on logistics rapper said he didn’t know anyone when he came to Lagos.According to him, When he finished his final year exams, he came to Lagos and gathered the money he made in Jos to rent an apartment.

He made this known while speaking in an interview with The Nation. According to him:” I’m just someone that has perseverance. I don’t give up. I finished my final year exams and in about two weeks, I packed my bags and came to Lagos. I was just waiting for school to finish. My mother wanted me to go to school and I gave her the certificate and took a walk. So, I came to Lagos, not knowing anybody. I gathered the money I made from my music in Jos and used it to pay for house rent and started life. I would be at home for one week atimes, I won’t go out because I didn’t know anybody in Lagos.

“I just had that drive, that belief that one day, it would happen. I didn’t know how it would happen but today that is how it is. For me, I just feel that every youth should keep doing what they know how to do best and stay focus. That’s why I have three things as my mantra – You gotta believe in God, number two, believe in yourself and number three, you die put”.

When asked what he has been doing before BBNaija, he said:”It’s music. Music has been what I’ve been doing for the past seven years. I started recording in 2010 and while I was in Jos. I left Jos as an elite artiste but the hunger for more brought me to Lagos in 2015. So, as Big Brother came, I said, ‘this is a big platform to showcase myself.’ If I didn’t go on Big Brother and I came here, no one would answer me”.

Efe at TheNewsGuru; says nothing can kill his passion for music

Warri born rapper, Efe Ejeba became the center of attention when he recently emerged the winner of Big Brother Naija 2017. The down- to- earth reality TV star was at TheNewsGuru office on Wednesday 3^rd of May in Lagos , where he declared that nothing can kill his passion for music.

Decked in black jeans upon jacket, black boot and white tee-shirt, Efe was brimming with excitement as he shares his journey to stardom.

When asked about his love for music he said:” I have been doing music for 7 years. At a time, I won the best rapper in a competition held years back in Jos. I have a deep love for music and nothing can kill my passion for music”.

On being criticized for over his rap style, he said: “I am used to the criticism and the will not stop me from doing what I love. I pick some constructive feedbacks and leave the ones I cannot benefit from” he told TheNewsGuru .

Delta State Government to host Big Brother Naija Winner

The Government of Delta state and the leadership of the Okpẹ kingdom are set to host Efe Ejeba, winner of the just concluded BBNaija 2017 reality TV show. TheNewsGuru reports that the Okpẹ Kingdom planning committee are preparing to host Efe in grand style at the state capital and also at the ancestral home of the Okpẹ people, Orerokpe.

Efe Ejeba, who emerged winner of the BBNaija 2017 hails from Okpẹ Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State. According to reports gathered by TheNewsGuru, members of the Okpe Kingdom planning committee includes Chief Godwin Ejinyere ,Chief Sheriff Oborevwori and others. The duo stood strong in solidarity with Efe by voting and mobilizing others to do so. Details of the reception will made public soon.

‘Don’t invest all your money in music’-Ycee warns Efe

Jagagban singer cum rapper, Ycee has advised the winner of Big Brother Naija reality television show, Efe Ejeba to be careful when it comes to investing his prize money in music. Before winning Big Brother Naija, Efe was just a budding rapper without no hit song. Ycee urged Efe to maximize his new found fame and use it to the fullest capacity.

In an interview with Buzztop TV he said: “Regarding what he wants to go into. I haven’t listened to any of his song. But a lot of people are saying he shouldn’t do music.But If music is something he’s really passionate about. With the amount of money and popularity, he’s been able to get from Big Brother, he should work on his craft.

“It’s not just about having passion for music but also taking that time to create good music that people actually enjoy.He’s already got the fame so that takes away like 90% of having to be patient and releasing music from time to time. All I’m going to say to him is don’t put all your money into music. It is not a venture that yields return ASAP. All the people that you see making it today, they actually started out from time. It takes a long, long process.”

Efe’s was bashed by fans for his mediocre performance at the recently held AY Live comedy show.

#BBNaija:Efe, Bisola get plots of land from Tonto Dike’s hubby

Big Brother Naija finalists are still reaping from their victory. Efe, Bisola and TBoss were recently given a plot of land each by the Chairman of Big Church Group, Olakunle Churchill. Olakunle Churchill needs no introduction, he is the estranged husband of Tonto Dike.

In his acceptance speech, Efe said: “Can this be real? I’m truly blown away by this show of love and kindness. We are so grateful. Thank you so much sir. Who I be to get land for Abuja?”

“I regret taking alcohol in the Big Brother house”-Efe laments

Big Brother Nigeria winner, Efe Ejeba has opened up on his greatest regret in the Big Brother Naija house. According to him, he appreciates those who voted for him and supported him throughout his stay in the Big Brother Naija house, saying he regrets drinking alcohol, while on the show.

He made this known in a recent interview. Hear him: ”The only regret I have is drinking. I heard my mum is upset with me. So, I apologize to her for drinking so much in the BBNaija house.

“I am so grateful to a lot of people including Governor Okowa of Delta State. I heard he threw his weight behind me. I was also told that comedian; I Go Dye dropped N1 million for my campaign team. When I called him, he ended my call and called me back. We spoke for hours.

“I am also grateful to Ali Baba, Akpororo and so many Nigerian celebrities whom I had never met but stood behind me. I hear my family house in Warri can now be likened to a tourist center because of the number of people who have thronged our home to congratulate my parents.”

Afropop singer, Adekunle Gold has advised Big Brother Naija lovebirds, Efe and Marvis to get married.

He took to Twitter to make this declaration. However, some of his fans bashed him, advising him to get married to Simi, whom everyone believes he is dating.

Recall that Adekunle Gold and Simi have been romantically linked after he featured her on his album and Simi mixed most of the songs on Adekunle’s album.

#BBNaija: In search of Efe, Bisola and other BBNaija finalists

…A reporter’s personal experience

Everyone gets ecstatic when a grass to grace story is being told .That explains the reason Nigerians were immediately intrigued by the story of Efe Ejeba, a 24 year old rapper and Economics graduate who months back was just an upcoming artiste partaking in the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, till he was announced the winner last Sunday.

The Intrigues that led to his victory can be chronicled in a book for all to read. Amazingly, pastors and prayer warriors have been using him as a prayer point, calling on the ‘God of Efe’ to answer their prayers.

The Search

On Tuesday 11th of April, accompanied by #TeamEfe campaign leader for Warri chapter Ernest Ojegba, our reporter went in search of Efe, Bisola and the other Big Brother Naija finalists as soon as he was informed they were at Protea Hotel in Victory Island Lagos.

The hotel was a flurry of activities on its own. Family and friends of the BBNaija finalists were gathered to welcome them. Everyone wanted to talk to them, take pictures with them or make a video with them.All the finalists present were Efe, Bisola, TBoss, Debie-Rise and Marvis.

Efe… the man of the moment

Efe was dressed in a black tee-shirt with the inscription ‘Based on Logistics. Weariness and exhaustion was written on his face, but he still managed to take pictures with his family and friends who came visiting and felicitating with him.

The Fatigued Bisola

Bisola, the first runner-up of Big Brother Naija was fatigued during the visit. Perhaps it was as a result of the long flight or the media tour that started that day.

Bisola was seen with her sister and a few of her friends gisting and generally having a great time. A few times, she declined taking pictures with some members of #TeamEfe, perhaps as a result of being fatigued.

The TBoss you don’t know

While in the hotel, our reporter noticed that the beautiful and light skinned damsel was mostly on her own at the hotel lobby where other finalists were hanging out after checking into their hotel rooms.

TBoss clad in a white Tee-shirt, was on phone calls for the most part of the visit, thanking her friends for voting for her while she was on BBNaija.

After her phone calls, she was visibly deserted for most part of the night.

Between Marvis and Debie-Rise

Marvis and Debie- Rise are darlings; though they didn’t emerge winners, their excitement on Tuesday was palpable.

Debie-Rise, arrayed in a red dress took pictures with her fans and friends excitedly, she was also seen talking enthusiastically.

In the same vein, Marvis was dressed in black tee-shirt on a blue jean, taking pictures and basking in the euphoria of her new found stardom.

During BBNaija Marvis, TBoss and Debie-Rise were not close pals, but they have been together hanging out at interviews and events.

Will their new found friendship last?Only time will tell

From having a burning desire to be part of Big Brother Naija and now becoming overnight celebrities, no doubt they have all moved from grass to grace shining like diamonds.
