    EPL: Manchester United beat Leeds Utd 2-0 to close gap on Arsenal

    Manchester United put the 2-2 draw against Leeds United few days ago behind them to secure all three points against them on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road.

    Leeds looked set to record a historic win at Old Trafford when taking a 2-0 lead on Wednesday night, but Marcus Rashford got his side back into the game on the hour mark and substitute Jadon Sancho produced an equalizer shortly after.

    However, on Sunday afternoon, two Late goals from Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho earned Manchester United a hard-fought 2-0 Premier League victory at Leeds on Sunday.

    Erik ten Hag’s team continued to struggle to break down the dogged hosts until the in-form Rashford headed home his 21st goal of the season in all competitions to finally break the Leeds resistance in the 80th minute.

    Substitute Garnacho took advantage to put the game to bed five minutes from time, racing clear before firing home.

    The result meant the Red Devils are now second on the log pending the result of Manchester City versus Aston Villa later on Sunday evening.

    EPL: Southampton FC sack head coach, Nathan Jones

    English Premier League club side , Southampton has fired coach Nathan Jones over the club’s poor performance.

    First Team Coaches, Chris Cohen and Alan Sheeha were also relieved of their duties by Southampton management.

    The English club, however, announced that First Team Lead Coach Rubén Sellés would lead Southampton for their next Premier League tie against Chelsea.

    This was made in a statement via its website on Sunday.

    The sacking came few hours after Southampton FC  were defeated by Wolves 2-1 on Saturday in the EPL.

    The statement read, “Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men’s First Team Manager Nathan Jones.

    “First Team Coaches Chris Cohen and Alan Sheehan have also left the club.

    “First Team Lead Coach Rubén Sellés will take charge of training and prepare the team ahead of next weekend’s game against Chelsea.”

    EPL: Again, Iheanacho wins man of the match award in Leicester’s 4-1 defeat of Tottenham

    Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho won the man of the match award for the second consecutive game following Leicester City’s 4-1 humiliation of Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League week 22 game at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

    Iheanacho’s also won the man of the match award after Leceister city’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa last week Sunday.

    The 26-year-old scored once and provided two assists in that game.

    Against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, Iheanacho was influential again hitting the target once with one assist.

    The Nigeria international scored 51% of the votes, with James Maddison and Harvey Barnes coming second and third respectively.

    Iheanacho has scored three goals and recorded four assists in 16 league appearances for the Foxes this season

    EPL: Casemiro could face disciplinary action for unruly act

    Brazilian and Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro could be facing disciplinary action for his unruly act in the match versus Crystal palace.

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that Casemiro strangled a Crystal palace player during a melee between players of both teams in the English Premier League encounter which Manchester United Won.

    The midfielder was given a straight red card in the 2-1 win against Palace after grabbing Hughes by the jugular.

    Meanwhile, former Aston Villa man, Gabriel Agbonlahor has told the FA to arrest and discipline Casemiro after the incident that saw the Brazilian sent off against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

    According to Agbonhalor, the former Real Madrid man thought he was a super star wrestler and wanted to strangle Crystal Palace’s Will Hughes.

    The melee began with a scuffle between Crystal Palace’s Jeffrey Schlupp and United’s Antony and the 2022 summer signing got involved as a number of players shoved one another.

    “Casemiro thought he was Brock Lesnar back in the UFC,” Agbonhalor told talkSPORT.

    “The way he was strangling Will Hughes, he should be arrested for that. Kids are watching that later on, on Match of the Day. Seeing Casemiro strangling an opponent.

    “This isn’t ice hockey in America where they have a scrap during the game. This is football, we don’t want to see that.

    “So Casemiro needs to be disciplined by Manchester United,” he said.

    Casemiro has been described by fans and pundits as one of the best players in the Red Devils squad this season since his £70 million move from Real Madrid.

    The Brazilian was just returning from a one-match ban before the red card incident that will now keep him out of action for another three games.

    Casemiro missed United’s defeat to Arsenal last weekend due to suspension. The 30-year-old picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in United’s draw with the same Crystal Palace team.

    Former Dutch striker and Chelsea legend, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has noted that Arsenal will still have its share of a bad run in the English Premier League and that will prevent the Gunners from winning the EPL title this season.

    The Dutch is still confident Manchester City will come from behind to claim the Premier League title.

    However, he admitted that Mikel Arteta’s side are doing a great job and have kept on surprising him with their performances this season.

    Arsenal top the EPL standing with 50 points and leads the log with a five points difference over second place Manchester City but the Gunners still have a game in hand.

    “They’re doing great and playing really good football but I do think they’re going to have a bad time of maybe two or three losses and then we’ll see how they react.

    “My favourites are still Manchester City but I’m getting closer and closer to saying that perhaps it is going to be Arsènal’s year.”

    Merseyside side, Everton has been put up for sale just few days after the firing of coack Frankm Lampard by the club’s owner, Farhad Moshiri.

    Moshri will sell the club at a fee of £500m to any interested buyer.

    Everton are currently battling relegation after a poor run of form in the English Premier League this season.

    The Guardian is reporting that the British-Iranian billionaire is now set to sell the club following fierce criticism he and fellow board members are receiving from Toffees’ fans in recent weeks.

    The owner is said to be seeking to recoup the funds he has invested in the Merseyside outfit”s new stadium – which is being built at Bramley-Moore Dock.

    Meanwhile A number of potential buyers have also indicated interest in acquiring the clubside.

    Some star players such as Anthony Gordon and Amadou Onana have skipped training as they are trying to force their way out of the club.

    Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to be interested in both players.

    It remains to be seen if Everton will escape relegation by the time the season ends as they did so too last season two games to the end of the season.

    The club is expected to announce a new gaffer in the coming days.

    Arsenal legend and former captain, Cesc Fabregas issued a warning to Arsenal, saying that the title race, is far from being over.

    Fabregas added that they still have a long way to go in the title race this season.

    The gunners are five points clear of second place Manchester City with a game in hand.

    Speaking on Sky Sports, Fabregas said: “I think it is a process.

    “We all know that I think everyone at the club is aware about it, Mikel [Arteta] the first, but the input he wants to put into the players’ heads, the message is that they’ve to go all-in, because as I said it would be a great statement for the team, for the confidence, for the Premier League, it’s a message to say ‘hey, we are here, we want to win it.’

    “Fifty points in the middle of the season, it is still a long way to go, they still have to play Europa League, that is another thing we need to see how Mikel manages, if he’ll play the starting XI or if we will keep all the firepower for the Premier League.”

    EPL: How Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-2 to remain top of the log

    League leaders Arsenal defeated Manchester United today at the Emirate to stay five points clear of second place Manchester City.

    Marcus Rashford Opened scoring in the 17 minute of the encounter before Eddie Nketiah equalized in the 24th minute.

    Bukayo Saka doubled the lead in the 53rd minute but Argentine defender Martinez equalized for Manchester United  in the 59th minute to even scores.

    Just when the match was going to end in a draw, Nketiah again latched on to a loose ball to slot in the 3rd goal to give the gunners the winner.

    The league leaders have been almost perfect since the season resumed after the World Cup break.

    The gunners lead the EPL log with five points from 19 games  while second place Manchester City are second on the log with 45 points clear.

    Arsenal and Manchester United played out a 5 goals thriller in the English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the encounter ended 3:2 in favour of Arsenal, who continue to stay atop the EPL table.

    Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka scored Arsenal’s three goals while Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez scored United’s two goals. Nketiah snatched the win for Mikel Arteta with his second goal in the 90th minute of play.

    However, the game did not end without a share of VAR controversy. Nketiah beat a couple of tight offside calls, even with VAR checks, to bundle home from close range.

    EPL: Haaland’s hattrick secures three points for Manchester City as they beat Wolves 3-0

    Erling Haaland once again, proved his worth by scoring a hattrick  as Manchester City followed up their comeback victory over Tottenham Hotspur with a routine demolition of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

    The first half had ended in a slim 1-0 win and Wolves were expected to throw a surprise counter attacking football at the Citizens in the second half but reverse was the case.

    A Kevin De Bruyne cross was met by the head of Erling Haaland five minutes before the break to reignite the home faithful. City ended the game as a contest ten minutes after the interval.

    Ilkay Gundogan was tripped by Ruben Neves moments after the break as Wolves started the second 45 asleep. Haaland comfortably converted the spot kick to make it two.

    His hat-trick was completed moments later when a high press saw Jose Sa give the ball to Riyad Mahrez, who squared it for Haaland to score his third. City now sit just two points behind Arsenal ahead of their game with Manchester United at 4:30pm.

    The Norwegian has now scored 25 goals in 20 games for Manchester city first time ever by any English Premier League Player.

    Manchester City presently trail league leaders Arsenal by 5 point and may extend pending the results between Arsenal and Manchester United.
